WELCOME TO CITY DAY 2012:As you will see today, White Plains has much to offer. We are a suburban city with a full

complement of urban amenities. We have a residential population of approximately 57,000,and a daytime population that soars to 250,000, as the business community and shoppersarrive by car, rail, bus and plane. Our downtown offers plenty of options for dining, entertainment and the arts. We are one of the top suburban office and retail centersin the nation and are the center for Federal, State, and County courts and offices inWestchester County with easy access to a multi-modal public transportation system. What’s more, White Plains has recently been recognized as the ideal community in

Westchester for young professionals to live, work and play due to its great balance ofurban and suburban life, its walkability, partnered with convenient access to all modesof transportation and commutability to Manhattan, for its abundance of municipalparking packages, and for its distinction as a “hot spot” for professional networking, nightlife, restaurants, entertainment, family activities, recreation and diversity.White Plains is Westchester County’s premier business market and is home to the

county’s largest concentration of retail activity. It is a city that offers great potentialto the business community. We offer an educated work force, housing options, schoolsof excellence, a thriving downtown and municipal parking. I welcome the opportunity tomeet with you and discuss the possibilities of doing business in White Plains.

Sincerely,

Thomas Roach
