WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section17 of the Charitable Collections Act, 1946-1949,the sum of £916 6s. 9d. is vested in Ross Hutchin-son as the Minister of the Crown to whom for thetime being the administration of the said Act iscommitted and is held by him on trust for thepromotion of the objects of the Community YouthCentre as set out in the Constitution and Rulesthereof; and whereas by the provisions of section17 (2) of the said Act the Governor may by Pro-clamation vary the trusts and may by the sameProclamation vest the said moneys in such personsand for such charitable purposes as the Governorshall specify; and whereas financial assistance to-wards the equipment, carrying on, maintenanceand improvement of the community youth centreat the John Curtin High School, Fremantle, is acharitable purpose within the meaning of the saidAct; and whereas I, the Governor, have specifiedthat the said sum now vest in the Fremantle Com-munity Youth Centre Committee for that charitablepurpose: Now, therefore I, the Governor, acting withthe advice and consent of the Executive Council,do hereby vest the said sum of £916 6s. 9d. in thesaid Fremantle Community Youth Centre Commit-tee for the charitable purpose of equipping, carry-ing on, maintaining and improving the said centre.

WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section17 of the Charitable Collections Act, 1946-1949,the Governor may, by Proclamation, vest in theMinister the moneys held for any charitable pur-pose by or on behalf of any association, on beingsatisfied that a majority of at least three-fourthsin number of the persons who are trustees or whohave the control of the said moneys have con-sented thereto; and whereas Stanley Wesley Perry,O.B.E., John Trezise Tonkin, M.L.A., and CliffordBurton Searl the present trustees of the associationincorporated under the Associations IncorporationAct, 1895-1957, and known as the CommunityYouth Centre have satisfied me that they consentto the sum of £916 6s. 9d. being the moneys heldin an account numbered S701 at the CommonwealthSavings Bank, Fremantle, by or on behalf of theCommunity Youth Centre for a charitable purpose,being vested under and for the purposes of thesaid Act in Ross Hutchinson (he being the Ministerof the Crown to whom for the time being the ad-ministration of the said Act is committed): Now,therefore I, the Governor, acting with the adviceand consent of the Executive Council do herebyvest the said sum of £916 6s. 9d. in the said RossHutchinson under and for the purposes of thesaid Act.

WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (1) of section4 of the Marketing of Onions Act, 1938-1956, thatthe Governor may, at any time, on the applicationof The Western Australian Onion Marketing Board,provide and declare by Proclamation that the pro-perty in all onions belonging to growers shall forth-with, upon the date of publication of the Proclama-tion, or on or from some other date specified there-in, be divested from the growers thereof and becomevested in and be the absolute property of the Boardas the owner thereof, and that any onions belong-ing to growers thereafter coming into existencewithin a time specified in the Proclamation shallbecome vested in and be the absolute property ofthe Board, and may by such Proclamation makesuch further provision as will enable the Boardeffectively to obtain possession of such onions, andto deal with the same, as may be deemed necessaryor convenient, in order to give full effect to theobjects and purposes for which the Board has beenconstituted; and whereas by subsection (4) of thatsection it is also provided that the provisions of thatsection shall not apply to onions harvested andmarketed by a grower during the period betweenthe 31st day of July and the 1st day of Novemberin each and every year; and whereas the Boardhas made application for the issue of a Proclama-tion accordingly, and it is deemed desirable andexpedient that such Proclamation shall be issued:Now, therefore I, the Governor, acting with theadvice and consent of the Executive Council andpursuant to the application of The Western Aus-tralian Onion Marketing Board, and in exerciseof the powers conferred by section 4 of the Act,do hereby provide and declare for the purposesof the Act that, from and including the 1st dayof November, 1960, to and including the 31st day ofJuly, 1961, the property in all onions then belongingto growers within the meaning of the Act, shall,subject to all lawful exceptions and to any exemp-tions which may be lawfully granted by the Board,be divested from the growers thereof, and shallbecome vested in and be the absolute property ofThe Western Australian Onion Marketing Boardas the owner thereof, and the Board may, but sub-ject to the regulations at any time or from timeto time in force, do such lawful acts and things,and take such lawful means, as the owner thereofto obtain effectively possession of the onions whichby notice in this Proclamation are the absoluteproperty of the Board and to deal with the same,as the Board may deem necessary or convenient,in order to give full effect to the objects and pur-poses for which the Board has been constituted,

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that the areas scheduled hereunder are available for selection under Part Vof the Land Act, 1933-1958, and the regulations appertaining thereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Applications must be lodged at the Department of Lands and Surveys, Perth, not later than the date specified, butmay be lodged before such date, if so desired.

All applications lodged on or before such date will he treated as having been received on the closing day, and if thereare more applicants than one for any block, the application to be granted will be determined by the Land Board. Shouldany lands remain unselected such will continue available until applied for or otherwise dealt with.

Notice to Owners and Occupiers of Land.PURSUANT to the powers contained in section 33of the above Act, owners and occupiers of landwithin the Chapman Valley Road District are herebyrequired

to plough, cultivate, scarify or otherwiseclear firebreaks not less than ten (10) feetwide inside and along and within one chainof the boundaries of all the land owned oroccupied by them or inside and along andwithin one chain of the boundaries of allland used for pasture and for crops;to plough, cultivate or scarify firebreaksnot less than ten (10) feet wide immedi-ately adjacent to the perimeter of all cropsintended to be harvested for grain;as an alternative to (a) and (b) above toplough, cultivate, scarify or otherwise clearfirebreaks not less than ten (10) feet wideinside and along and within one chain ofthe boundaries of all land owned or occu-pied by them or inside and along and withinone chain of the boundaries of all landused for pasture and for crops where allor any part of such crop is to be harvestedfor grain, and to maintain the said fire-breaks clear of all inflammable materialuntil the expiry date of the immediate fol-lowing prohibited burning period.

If it is impracticable for any reason to clearfirebreaks in the positions required by this notice,the approval of the Board must be obtained to pro-vide thom in an alternative situation.

All firebreaks as designated above must be pre-pared in Zone 1C on or before the 1st day of Octo-ber, 1960, and in Zone 1 on or before the 22nd dalIof October, 1960.

Inside and along the boundaries of all land.Along the boundaries of all land adjacentto a made road and/or railway line.Elsewhere on your property so as to dividethe land into areas of not more than 500acres.To provide suitable and adequate protec-tion to all buildings on the land owned oroccupied by you.

If it is impracticable to provide firebreaks in theposition required by this notice, approval of theBoard or a Fire Control Officer must be obtainedto provide them in an alternative position.

Notice to Owners and Occupiers of Land.UNDER the provisions of the Bush Fires Act,1954-1958, all owners and/or occupiers of landin the Dowerin Road District are required, on orbefore the 30th day of October, 1960, to preparernd thereafter maintain an effective fire-breako a width of not less than ten (10) feet around

their boundaries.Where the land adjoins a railway line, the

firebreak shall be double the above width.The owner or occupier of land who fails or

neglects to comply with the regulation madein the above notice is guilty of an offence undersubsection (3) of section 33 and is liable to apenalty of not less than five pounds nor morethan one hundred pounds.

Townsites of the Rockingham Road District.PURSUANT to the powers contained in section 33of the above Act, you are hereby required, on orbefore the 15th day of November, 1960, to removefrom the land owned or occupied by you all bushor inflammable materials or to clear firebreaks inaccordance with the following:

Where the land is vacant and no buildingsare erected on it, all bush and inflammablematerials shall be removed from the wholeof the land.If buildings are erected on the land, thenthe buildings shall be immediately sur-rounded by a firebreak, cleared of all in-flammable material to a width of 10 feet,or where the boundary of the land is closerto the building than 10 feet then for thatlesser distance between that boundary andthe building, and a firebreak, 10 feet wide,shall be also cleared inside and along thewhole of the boundaries of the land.

If it is impracticable for any reason to clear fire-breaks or to remove inflammable material fromland as required by this notice, the approval of

the Road Board or its duly authorised officer mustbe obtained to provide firebreaks in an alternativeposition, or to take alternative action to abate firehazards on the land.

Attention is directed to the following provisionsof the Bush Fires Act:

The penalty for failing to comply with thisorder is a fine of not less than £5 nor morethan £100 and a person in default is also liable,whether prosecuted or not, to pay to the RoadBoard the cost of performing the work directedin this order if it is not carried out by theowner or occupier by the date required by thisnotice.

'Bush" is defined to include grass, leaves andtwigs whether alive or dead.

the Mundaring Road District.PURSUANT to the powers contained in section33 of the Bush Fires Act, 1954-1958, you arehereby required, on or before the 31st day ofOctober, 1960, to plough, cultivate, scarify, burn,or otherwise clear fire-breaks on or to remove in-flammable material from land owned or occupiedby you in accordance with the following:-

1. On land not exceeding one acre in area:Where a residence has not been erectedon the land and the land has not beencleared of scrub and fallen timber, thenall inflammable material, with the excep-tion of standing trees, shall be removedfrom the whole of the land.Where a residence has not been erectedon the land, but the land has been de-veloped by clearing of scrub and fallentimber, a fire-break three feet wide shallbe cleared of all inflammable material in-side and along the whole of the boun-daries of the land.

(C) Where a residence has been erected onthe land, all buildings shall be immedi-ately surrounded by a fire-break clearedof all inflammable material to a width ofthree feet from the perimeter of the build-ings, and a fire-break three feet wide shallbe cleared inside and along the whole ofthe boundaries of the land.

2. On land exceeding one acre in area:Where a residence has not been erectedon the land and the land has not beencleared of scrub and fallen timber, twofire-breaks, each six feet in width andhalf chain apart, shall be cleared of allinflammable material inside and along thewhole of the boundaries of the landWhere a residence has not been erectedon the land, but the land has been de-veloped by general clearing of scrub andfallen timber, a fire-break not less thansix feet wide shall be cleared of all in-flammable material inside and along thewhole of the boundaries of the land, andany buildings erected on the land shallbe immediately surrounded by a fire-breakcleared of all inflammable material to awidth of three feet around the perimeterof the buildings.

(C) Where a residence has been erected onthe land, then all buildings shall be im-mediately surrounded by a fire-breakcleared of all inflammable material to awidth of three feet around the perimeterof the buildings and a fire-break not lessthan six feet wide shall be cleared insideand along the whole of the boundaries ofthe land.

3. If it is impracticable for any reason to clearfire-breaks or to remove inflammable materialfrom land as required by this notice, the approvalof the Board or its duly authorised officer mustbe obtained to provide fire-breaks in an alternativeposition or to take alternative action to abate firehazards on the land.

The removal of all inflammable material,with the exception of standing trees, between theboundary of the property and any constructed roadbounding the property shall be deemed to be asufficient fire-break for that boundary in lieu offire-breaks required in paragraphs I (b), 1 (c),2 (b) and 2 (C) above.

The penalty for failing to comply with thisorder is a fine of not less than £5 nor more than£100, and a person in default is also liable, whetherprosecuted or not, to pay to the Board the costof performing the work directed in this order,if it is not carried out by the owner or occupierby the date required by this notice.

If the requirements of this notice are car-ried out by burning, such burning must be inaccordance with the relevant provisions of theBush Fires Act.
