WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section 17 of the Charitable Collections Act, 1946-1949, the sum of £916 6s. 9d. is vested in Ross Hutchin- son as the Minister of the Crown to whom for the time being the administration of the said Act is committed and is held by him on trust for the promotion of the objects of the Community Youth Centre as set out in the Constitution and Rules thereof; and whereas by the provisions of section 17 (2) of the said Act the Governor may by Pro- clamation vary the trusts and may by the same Proclamation vest the said moneys in such persons and for such charitable purposes as the Governor shall specify; and whereas financial assistance to- wards the equipment, carrying on, maintenance and improvement of the community youth centre at the John Curtin High School, Fremantle, is a charitable purpose within the meaning of the said Act; and whereas I, the Governor, have specified that the said sum now vest in the Fremantle Com- munity Youth Centre Committee for that charitable purpose: Now, therefore I, the Governor, acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby vest the said sum of £916 6s. 9d. in the said Fremantle Community Youth Centre Commit- tee for the charitable purpose of equipping, carry- ing on, maintaining and improving the said centre. WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (1) of section4 of the Marketing of Onions Act, 1938-1956, thatthe Governor may, at any time, on the applicationof The Western Australian Onion Marketing Board,provide and declare by Proclamation that the pro-perty in all onions belonging to growers shall forth-with, upon the date of publication of the Proclama-tion, or on or from some other date specified there-in, be divested from the growers thereof and becomevested in and be the absolute property of the Boardas the owner thereof, and that any onions belong-ing to growers thereafter coming into existencewithin a time specified in the Proclamation shallbecome vested in and be the absolute property ofthe Board, and may by such Proclamation makesuch further provision as will enable the Boardeffectively to obtain possession of such onions, andto deal with the same, as may be deemed necessaryor convenient, in order to give full effect to theobjects and purposes for which the Board has beenconstituted; and whereas by subsection (4) of thatsection it is also provided that the provisions of thatsection shall not apply to onions harvested andmarketed by a grower during the period betweenthe 31st day of July and the 1st day of Novemberin each and every year; and whereas the Boardhas made application for the issue of a Proclama-tion accordingly, and it is deemed desirable andexpedient that such Proclamation shall be issued:Now, therefore I, the Governor, acting with theadvice and consent of the Executive Council andpursuant to the application of The Western Aus-tralian Onion Marketing Board, and in exerciseof the powers conferred by section 4 of the Act,do hereby provide and declare for the purposesof the Act that, from and including the 1st dayof November, 1960, to and including the 31st day ofJuly, 1961, the property in all onions then belongingto growers within the meaning of the Act, shall,subject to all lawful exceptions and to any exemp-tions which may be lawfully granted by the Board,be divested from the growers thereof, and shallbecome vested in and be the absolute property ofThe Western Australian Onion Marketing Boardas the owner thereof, and the Board may, but sub-ject to the regulations at any time or from timeto time in force, do such lawful acts and things,and take such lawful means, as the owner thereofto obtain effectively possession of the onions whichby notice in this Proclamation are the absoluteproperty of the Board and to deal with the same,as the Board may deem necessary or convenient,in order to give full effect to the objects and pur-poses for which the Board has been constituted,

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that the areas scheduled hereunder are available for selection under Part Vof the Land Act, 1933-1958, and the regulations appertaining thereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

the Mundaring Road District.PURSUANT to the powers contained in section33 of the Bush Fires Act, 1954-1958, you arehereby required, on or before the 31st day ofOctober, 1960, to plough, cultivate, scarify, burn,or otherwise clear fire-breaks on or to remove in-flammable material from land owned or occupiedby you in accordance with the following:-

1. On land not exceeding one acre in area:Where a residence has not been erectedon the land and the land has not beencleared of scrub and fallen timber, thenall inflammable material, with the excep-tion of standing trees, shall be removedfrom the whole of the land.Where a residence has not been erectedon the land, but the land has been de-veloped by clearing of scrub and fallentimber, a fire-break three feet wide shallbe cleared of all inflammable material in-side and along the whole of the boun-daries of the land.

(C) Where a residence has been erected onthe land, all buildings shall be immedi-ately surrounded by a fire-break clearedof all inflammable material to a width ofthree feet from the perimeter of the build-ings, and a fire-break three feet wide shallbe cleared inside and along the whole ofthe boundaries of the land.

2. On land exceeding one acre in area:Where a residence has not been erectedon the land and the land has not beencleared of scrub and fallen timber, twofire-breaks, each six feet in width andhalf chain apart, shall be cleared of allinflammable material inside and along thewhole of the boundaries of the landWhere a residence has not been erectedon the land, but the land has been de-veloped by general clearing of scrub andfallen timber, a fire-break not less thansix feet wide shall be cleared of all in-flammable material inside and along thewhole of the boundaries of the land, andany buildings erected on the land shallbe immediately surrounded by a fire-breakcleared of all inflammable material to awidth of three feet around the perimeterof the buildings.

(C) Where a residence has been erected onthe land, then all buildings shall be im-mediately surrounded by a fire-breakcleared of all inflammable material to awidth of three feet around the perimeterof the buildings and a fire-break not lessthan six feet wide shall be cleared insideand along the whole of the boundaries ofthe land.

3. If it is impracticable for any reason to clearfire-breaks or to remove inflammable materialfrom land as required by this notice, the approvalof the Board or its duly authorised officer mustbe obtained to provide fire-breaks in an alternativeposition or to take alternative action to abate firehazards on the land.

The removal of all inflammable material,with the exception of standing trees, between theboundary of the property and any constructed roadbounding the property shall be deemed to be asufficient fire-break for that boundary in lieu offire-breaks required in paragraphs I (b), 1 (c),2 (b) and 2 (C) above.

The penalty for failing to comply with thisorder is a fine of not less than £5 nor more than£100, and a person in default is also liable, whetherprosecuted or not, to pay to the Board the costof performing the work directed in this order,if it is not carried out by the owner or occupierby the date required by this notice.

If the requirements of this notice are car-ried out by burning, such burning must be inaccordance with the relevant provisions of theBush Fires Act.
