Credit Structure for Undergraduate Programmes (CBCS)

Each Honours Programme shall be of 142 Credits (to be studied in 6 semester)

Each General Programme shall be of 122 Credits (to be studied in 6 semester)

Credit / Workload for the Course in CBCS

Lecture 1 credit = 1 Hour Lecture [ 1 theory period of one hour duration per week]

Tutorial 1 credit = 1 Hour Tutorial [1 tutorial period of one hour duration per week]

VIDYASAGAR UNIVERSITY

Admission to UG programmes is governed by the guidelines

of the VU and the HE Deptt., Govt. of WB

A candidate shall be allowed to pursue any one of the

undergraduate programme of at a time.

Candidates passing HS or any other equivalent

board/council are eligible for admission in UG programme

within 3 (Three) consecutive years from the date of passing.

Colleges may seek special permission from VU Authority in case of any deviation to the above.

Candidates from the recognized Boards/Council (by VU) are

eligible for admission to any UG programme. Candidate from new Boards/ Council requires special permission from the VU authority.

VIDYASAGAR UNIVERSITY

Registration is mandatory for pursuing studies in any

UG Degree programme under VU

Student wish to change the programme in-between the

study to other UG programme needs to take special permission from the University Authority for surrendering the old Registration and issuance of new.

Candidates who have exhausted 3 (Three) chances for

passing any Semester Examination may get admitted in 1st

Year class as fresh candidate after surrendering the

previous Registration and taking special permission of the University Authority.

Incomplete Registration will not allow student to sit in

Semester Examination.

VIDYASAGAR UNIVERSITY

Auto-progression upto Semester-V. All the backlog courses

to be cleared within 5th Semester Examination.

Candidate shall not be permitted to appear in 6th Semester

Examination having backlog course.

Candidates who have exhausted 3 (Three) chances for

passing any Semester Examination may appear to clear the

Semester seeking special permission of the University Authority.

Candidate shall have to clear all the Semester with

consecutive five years from academic year of admission in

any college.

Form fill-up is mandatory before Semester Examination.
