The patrol vessel depicted below was made from a drawing by J. Berryman, a national newspaper columnist,

while a member of Flotilla 86, and presented to Division VIII. It first appeared on the 1972 roster. Richard W.

Mathes, Flotilla 86 made a wood carving from the drawing. It was presented to Division VIII in May 1979 and

received by Past District Commodore John C. King Jr., who was the Division Captain at that time. Each

Division Captain’s name is inscribed on the back of the plaque at the end of his/her term of office, whereupon it

is passed on the the incoming Division Captain.

(The corrected history of the drawing and plaque was submitted by Past Division Captain Author S. Bussey.)
