2.0 Computer Network and Communication

Meaning of computer network:

A computer network is system of interconnected

computers and peripheral devices. For example it

may connect computer, scanner, printer, and

cameras.

Meaning of communication:

Communication is about the transfer of information

from sender, across a distance, to a receiver.

2.3 Mobile Computing Mobile computing or nomadic computing is a generic term

used to describe the ability to use technology to wirelessly

connect to and use centrally located information and / or

application software via small portable and wireless

computing and communication devices such as laptop and

handheld computers.

2.4 Definition of mobile computing

Mobile computing is about the new strategies of

computing that utilities portable or mobile

devices and wireless communication networks. There

are various type of mobile computing devices such

as :

3.3 Internet Technology and Services

Internet technology is a broad range of

technologies for web development, web production,

design, networking, telecommunication and e-

commerce.

Services include:

1. Email capabilities

2. A variety of software applications for

secured communications.

3. Mobile security services

4. Mobile data, voice and video systems.

3.4 VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)

VoIP is one of the internet technologies that

allow a user to make telephone calls using a

broadband Internet connection instead of a regular

(or analog) phone line. VoIP is a method for

taking analog audio signals and turning them into

digital data that can be transmitted over the

Internet.

3.5 Blog

A blog is one of the popular activities on the

Internet and publicly shared. The authors

frequently update the content on a regular basis.

A blog is usually referred to the text produced by

the author. These text is all about the author’s

thought and experience.

4.0 Type Of Network

4.5 Personal Area Network (PAN)

PAN is a computer network used for communication among

computer devices including PCs, laptops, printers,

telephone, digital cameras, mobile phone, and Personal

Digital Assistant.PAN may be wired with USB port, Fire wire

port Infrared (IrDA) and Bluetooth technologies.

4.6 Virtual Private Network (VPN)

VPN is a network that uses a public telecommunication

infrastructure, such as Internet to individual with secure

access to their organization’s private network. These

network transmitted data packets across a public network.

4.7 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)

WLAN is a type of LAN that uses a high-frequency radio

waves to communicate between nodes. These network also

improve user mobility, speed, and scalability to move

around within a broad coverage area and still connected to

the network.

4.8 WorldWide Interoperability for Microwave

Access (WiMAX)

WiMAX is a technology that connect WiFi hotspots to the

Internet. WiMAX would operate similar to WiFi but at a

higher speeds, between greater distance and for a greater

number of users.

6.0 Conclusion

We can conclude that computer network give a big

impact in our life include in educational sectors,

business, and other organization .We can see this all

changes all over the world. People connect to each other
