A Personal Thank You and an additional request as we are being refined Again, I wanted to thank the great number of people who took the time to write, send cards or email me that they were praying for me and mom. My mom went to be with the Lord on February 18th 2019. Now I need some additional prayer. My sister just moved up to Pittsburgh in June along with my father who moved up here in late April. Well my sister arrives and a week later has blood in her stool and a visit to the emergency room showed she had bowel cancer. Since then she has had the cancer removed but will soon undergo chemotherapy. As the Lister family is undergoing some refining by trial with health issues, we would ask for prayer for all of us. May the Lord be merciful. May He heal my sister and give her strength in her trial. Also my dad needs prayers as all this is tough on him at age 90.

Jacob to USA, Australia and New Zealand – August – September dates set See website for dates & times Jacob will be back to America in mid-August to Labor Day holiday and his speaking dates are on the website. The visit to Texas is booked and dates are on the website for this trip. Hope to see you there. From America he is over to Australia and New Zealand for September and then he returns for two conferences. These dates are on the website now. An additional conference is the first weekend in October in Canada in Vancouver. Check the website for details or email Blair our Canada administrator. Jacob to the Far East – Year End Late in the year Jacob will be going to the Far East. He will be doing a dedication of the new building in the Phil-ippines and taking the kids to the Jollibee for a nice year end event. While this is a highlight and good time of the trip being with all the kids, there is a serious side to the trip. Jacob will be going into an area where the government is not really friendly to Christians so we ask for your prayers. While he has been there before, persecution of Christians is rising and the difference is very noticeable, so please, we could use lots of prayer for his visit.

Mission to Mormons Final Manti Mormon Miracle Pageant The mission went off great there were enormous crowds of Mormons, witnessing to Mormons was easy, many stopped and talked, had questions, some even stop to heckle or debate. There were hundreds of Christians out on the street every night to Witness in Love to the Mormons, which was an answer to my prayers from 25 plus years ago. My trip was interrupted as I had to return home early as my sister entered into the hospital for emergency surgery. But Marco and his son were out on the street every night passing out tracks, witnessing having a great time serving the Lord.

Isaiah 26:9: At night my soul longs for You, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For when the earth experiences Your judgmentsThe inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. And then coming down when His judgments are going to come, let us look at verse 14:

Isaiah 26:14: The dead will not live, the departed spirits will not rise; Therefore You have punished and destroyed them, And You have wiped out all remembrance of them.

As we read in Revelation: Revelation 20:5: The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection.

They don’t raise up; but then coming down to verse 19, those who will raise up: Isaiah 26:19-20: Your dead will live; Their corpses will rise. You who lie in the dust, awake and shout for joy, For your dew is as the dew of the dawn, And the earth will give birth to the departed spirits.Come, my people, enter into your rooms And close your doors behind you; Hide for a little while Until indignation runs its course.

This explains what is going to happen at the end of the world, the Great Tribulation. There will be a resurrection of the righteous, but not the unrighteous, until after the end of the millennium but during this period, God’s people, in verse 19, are promised a hope of the resurrection. Do not be afraid to die, this kind of thing. As we taught in the “Preparing for Persecution” recording series, the hope of the resurrection is always our confi-dence. The most the devil can do is kill us, but he can’t do that. The most Satan can do is kill us, but of course, ultimately, he cannot even do that.

Isaiah 26:20: Come, my people, enter into your rooms And close your doors behind you; Hide for a little while Until indignation runs its course.

A period is coming in the Great Tribulation. The faithful Christians will be rescued out of this tribulation. Jesus comes between the sixth and seventh seal in the book of Revelation. Somewhere in there is when the resurrection and rapture will take place. We read in Job “In six tribulations he will keep you but from the seventh he will deliver you.” The best I can see, the rapture and the resurrection happen between the sixth and seventh seal. Anything in the Bible that teaches about the rescue always fits the same pattern: Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah, the Exodus, the believers in 70 AD. All of these things teach something about the rapture, about the rescue. In each and every type of the rapture the faithful Christians enter into the tribulation and are somehow preserved or protected in it and delivered out of it before the worst of it. That happened in Sodom and Gomorrah. The tribulation was going on, they were in it, protected somehow in it, and taken out of the worst of it. Remember, the angels closed the door. When the judgments came on Egypt the Hebrews were in it and delivered out. Noah? They entered the flood and were delivered out. So, the Church will enter the tribulation but will be delivered out. During this period there will be a great indignation. In Antichrist, Satan will be worshiped as God. He will convince the unsaved Jews he is the

Messiah and he will be worshiped in Christendom. Much of the Church will apostatize. Indeed, much of the Church is apostatiz-ing already. When they will not stand up to homosexual services and lesbian services in the churches, there is no way they are going to stand up to the abomination of desolation. It is already being “set up in the temple.” “Come, my people, enter your rooms, close the doors.” “Work while you have the light; night will come when no man can work.” “All the virgins slept…” An indignation is coming. For now, we can still witness; for now, we can still warn. A time is coming when that will not be possible. It will be a time to hiber-nate. Now we deal with this on the “Future History of the Church” recordings. We talk about how Jesus went and sent the Holy Spirit and there was a gap period, remember? And the apos-tles were hiding, waiting. A converse happens. The Holy Spirit goes, “He who restrains him will do so no longer” and sends Jesus and there is a gap period and the Church is hiding and waiting. Jesus goes and sends the Spirit; the Spirit goes and sends Jesus. Now let me explain what I mean. In John 20, Jesus breathes on the disciples and says “Receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit indwelt them from that point. The Holy Spirit will never be taken from the hearts of God’s people. I am not talking about the Holy Spirit indwelling us being taken. Jesus said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” But after he breathes on them and says “Receive the Holy Spirit” he said go wait for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will be taken from the world. He will no longer restrain evil. He will no longer unite and empower the Church against evil the way He does now. He will no longer convict the world of sin the way He does now. The John 14 and John 16 stuff will end. The Lord goes back to the way He was in the Old Testament. In the book of Revelation, you go back to the way God was in the Old Testament, the God of wrath before the Holy Spirit was given. He will not restrain evil. He says his Spirit will not forever strive with man in Genesis and it won’t, it will be taken. These judgments you see in Revelation, what do they replay? The replay the judgments of Egypt and the judgments on Jericho, don’t they? He is a God of wrath. Now we have to be careful about taking dispensationalism too far but there is a truth in it. Some people overstate that truth, but there is a truth in it. God goes back to behaving the way He did in the Old Testament. Indignation is coming. Work while you have the light. Night will come when no man can work. There is going to be a time when the Church will not be able to function anymore as the Church; it will be like it was before the day of Pentecost, somehow existing but with no real unity, no real power—just in a state of waiting. We are going to be left in this state of waiting. The apostles were waiting for the Spirit to come. Jesus left and said, “Wait for the Spirit.” Jesus breathed on them; they had the Spirit inside of them, but the Spirit was not outpoured on the Church, which was not the case until Pentecost. We are going to go into this period.

2 Thessalonians 2:3: Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, The rapture, the resurrection, the Day of the Lord, the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, it cannot happen until the faithful


Christians know who the ultimate Antichrist is. The spirit of antichrist is the spirit of the world that has always been around. In fact, in an incipient form, it was around even before Christ. The mystery of iniquity was around from the beginning. You have the spirit of antichrist, but then there are many antichrists. Hitler was an antichrist, Joseph Stalin was an antichrist, Idi Amin was an antichrist, Nicolae Ceausescu was an antichrist, any of these despotic, political leaders seeking to be worshiped are of that spirit. Kim Il Soon in North Korea, these guys, they are antichrists. Every pope is an antichrist. But then there is the ultimate. Until we know who the two beasts are, Jesus cannot come. Now the problem is going to be this, there will be so many people saying this, that and the other thing that when the real guy comes, people think he is just another one. Do you understand how clever the Devil is? When the real guy comes—I had some people call me up not long ago. They said, “We have heard that Prince Charles is the Antichrist.” He is of that spirit. He is New Age; he is of that spirit. It was not an irrational thing to think. He is an antichrist; he is of that spirit. It is not irrational to say that. But as far as him being the Antichrist, believe me, he is not smart enough. Anybody, anybody who would say “We should look to Islam, a religion of the sharia,” he would have to be decapitated for adultery. He is not clever enough to be the Antichrist. Now he is of that spirit. He is the whole New-Age, Interfaith thing. He is not going to be the Defender of the Faith; he said he is going to be the “Defender of Faiths.” He had Hindus and Muslims and all this participating at his coronation according to him and the Archbishop of York. Yes, he is an antichrist, it is not an irrational thing to say he is. He is an, not the. The problem is when this guy comes, people will just think he is another one. The Antichrist will have to counterfeit Jesus, meaning he will have to be a Jew, at least one of those two beasts in Revelation has to be an ethnic Jew, at least one of. Meanwhile, the papacy is getting more interested in Jerusalem all the time. We will not be taken out of here collectively until the faith-ful know who this guy is. He is going to be very slick. He is going to slick just like Abimelech in Judges 9. Only Jotham, who knew the parable of the fig tree and the other trees knew who he was. Now, if you are interested in this subject you have to get the book Shadows of the Beast and read it yourself. I am only talking about it to the extent it affects our subject today. There will be a hiding place, but it is always in a person. There will be a hiding place but that has to do with seeing the evil coming. You see it coming; shrewd people will see the deception. People with knowledge will understand what it is. It has to do with living a moral life in this world now. If you are following God’s guidelines for the Christian life, day to day, if you are growing in knowledge and understanding of the scriptures day to day, if you are struggling to overcome the flesh day today, you will be protect-ed. You will have a way. It is not a question of hiding from this guy; there will be no hiding from this guy. It is a question of know-ing who he is. If people cannot see through Copeland and Hagin and Rodney Howard Browne and Wynne Lewis, if they cannot see through obvious charlatans, obvious heretics, there is no way under the sun they are ever going to outsmart this guy.

The Hiding Place Revelation 12:14: But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.

You cannot prove the Great Tribulation is seven years, you can only prove it is the second half of the 70th week of Daniel, the Time of Jacob’s Trouble, “ha Tekufot ha Tsurot Yacov.” Remember in Jeremiah, I talked about the woman in labor. In the New Testament, obstetrics along with seismology, with the earthquakes, are the two most frequent illustrations the scriptures give us of what it will be like in the Last Days. You have minor shifts of tectonic plates according to seismologists who study earthquakes, a lot of minor tremors, which are indications that the big shift in the tectonic plates is going to come and you have an earthquake. Birth contractions are the same way. You’ve got contractions and contractions, they become more frequent, more regular, indications of final delivery of the baby. Well, it is the same pattern in the last days. Things will go on and get more and more intense progressively. They will seem to get better for a while but only to come back even worse, just like labor in maternity or just like in seismology with geologists looking and studying earthquakes, the same kind of thing. You know they are only signs of the big one. People in California, Japan, and New Zealand, they know when they have these tremors and stuff; they know and they just try to get on with their day-to-day life but every one of them—everybody in Wellington, New Zealand, Tokyo or Los Angeles knows eventually something is going to happen. They know it. Now, why do we say this? Two wings were given her, like the wings of eagles, protection, into the wilderness to her hiding place. The hiding place of God is already prepared for His people. The place was already there. Those who will escape the indigna-tion, the place is already prepared. It is already there. Now what you have here, of course, is the Christmas Story. You’ve got the dragon trying to kill the baby coming out of the woman. What does that replay? King Herod, doesn’t it? King Herod as a major type of the Antichrist wants to kill Jesus so he can still be king. Dominion and power are going to be given to the saints of the Most High; the Antichrist wants to destroy the man-child coming out of the woman so he can keep in power. King Herod is a major type of the Antichrist. Let us look at what happens:

Matthew 2:1-3: Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east [Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum thinks this is the Shekinah, others say it was astral phenomena, separate subject] and have come to worship Him.” When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

He tries to find out from these wise men where it is.

Matthew 2:7-9: Then Herod secretly called the magi and determined from them the exact time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the Child; and when you have found Him, report to me, so that I too may come and worship Him.” After hearing the king, they went their way; and the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them until it came and stood over the place where the Child was.

Now obviously this star was not that easy for Herod to follow; he could have just followed the star himself, couldn’t he? It was something only certain people could see, or at least under-stand. The sign will be there. Remember Jesus said, “The tribes of the earth will mourn when they see the sign of the Son of Man...” All these phenomena, the wise men knew by the sign. The signs will be there, but only wise men will know how to understand it

and follow it. Now, this has deep things to do with the Antichrist, how he is going to try to get the understanding of the Word of God. It says in Daniel he will understand riddles. I don’t want to go into the Antichrist thing too much, it is a separate teaching. But look at this--they see the sign, and it comes, and it shows them where Jesus was. Now, what happens?

Matthew 2:16: Then when Herod saw that he had been tricked by the magi,

These guys had wisdom. They knew how to follow the signs. The Lord spoke to them through angelic messengers (angel and messenger are the same words in Greek and Hebrew, angelos in Greek, malak in Hebrew). These guys with their wisdom, through the ministering spirits, they outsmarted Herod. They tricked him; in the Greek, it is very clear that they duped him. The way that Mary fled with Jesus and got away and then it says in Revelation, what happens when the dragon sees he gets duped in Revelation?

Revelation 12:17: So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

What did Herod do? He went and killed all the other male babies, didn’t he? Same pattern, right? Yes, there will be people who will know what to do. They will understand the sign; they will know how to follow the sign, they will understand it, and they will know how to get over on this guy. This guy is going to be clever but there will be people who will know how to get over on it, but it takes wisdom. You look today—at a time when people should be getting the most wisdom, chokmah, when the people should be getting most into the Bible!

Daniel 12:10: Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.

Today if you have insight you are called a Pharisee by the real Pharisees, those who ‘teach as precepts of God the inventions of men’. They are the real Pharisees. Toronto was the most phari-saical movement I have ever seen in Evangelical Christianity. It was exactly like the Pharisees, teaching as precepts of God the inventions of men. Things with no biblical basis saying, “We know it is God.” That is exactly what the Pharisees did. They taught as precepts of God the inventions of men and then they tell you “You are the Pharisee” because you disagree. Paul said he was a Pharisee among Pharisees and so is Rodney Browne. That guy is a total pharisee.

Zechariah 2:6-7: "Ho there! Flee from the land of the north," declares the LORD, "for I have dispersed you as the four winds of the heavens," declares the LORD. "Ho, Zion! Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon."

Ho Zion, oy in Hebrew; you get oy va voi, woe upon woe, that means there is danger! “Flee you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.”

Revelation 18:2-4: And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful

bird. 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immoral-ity, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality.” 4 I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues;

“Come out of her my people.” It does not say they are not his people but “because you are my people, come out, come out!” Do you think it is right for a born-again Christian in an Anglican Church to pay his tithes and offerings to his church because his vicar is an Evangelical but in turn that church is paying into a diocesan fund? And because Evangelical Anglican Church-es pay more into the diocesan fund than non-Evangelical ones our brethren in Christ in Anglican Churches are helping to pay the salary of the homosexual vicars and rectors. You cannot give money to the Church of England without paying for homosexuali-ty. You are paying for corruption. You cannot be a member of an Elim Church without paying into the central fund of the people who bring Morris Cerrulo into this country and pronounce that little 4-year-old African girl healed and she is dead. You cannot be in Elim without contributing to a morally and doctrinally corrupt system. Anything that will bring in Cerullo is morally and doctrin-ally corrupt. This is going to get more and more acute. He does not say they are not his people, he says “Come out of her, my people” because this thing is going to come under judgment. Go escape, yatsa’, you’ve got to escape. There is no way you are going to escape what is coming if you don’t have the brains to get out of a house that is already on fire. I believe a time is coming where faithful Christians will no longer be able to remain in backslidden churches and where faithful congregations will no longer be able to stay in backslidden denominations like Elim. Take the building, take my credentials, but you are not taking my soul. Here are the keys, Wynne Lewis; here are the keys George Carey, have your homosexuals meeting in your cathedrals. I am not paying the salary of people like you. I am not paying the salary of a homosexual or Colin Dye with Cerullo, I am not doing that. Do you want my credentials? You want it, here take it! You have that child’s blood on your hands, it's not going to be on my hands.” Escape! Escape! We will reach a point where it will be impossible to remain in. Now what you are going to have are people whose loyalty to the institution will eclipse their loyalty to the Lord. I repeat: You will have people whose loyalty to the institution will eclipse their loyal-ty to the Lord. You watch—faithful churches are going to have to come out of backslidden denominations and faithful Christians are going to have to come out of the churches who won’t. It is going to be impossible to stay in without participating in the sin. Already, by contributing money to Elim or the Church of England you are paying for immorality and corruption. They are central-ized, and they are getting more and more hierarchical. Now, the tower of Babel was a centralized tower. They are getting more and more and more centralized and hierarchical all the time. The Baptist Union is going that way, all of them. A fundamental schism is coming and so with it comes an appeal of the Lord to escape. “Ho daughter of Zion, come out of her my people, you are my people, what are you doing in there for? That is a whore. What are you doing living in an abomination? Why are you living in a house of ill repute for? Why are you living in a den of iniquity? Why are you living in a house of prostitution?” These churches that have done these things, they are whorehouses. That is how God sees them. That is the Hebrew term, zenuth. He calls them

houses of harlotry and that is what they are, and it is going to get worse. Where do they go?

1 Samuel 22:1-2: So David departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam; and when his brothers and all his father’s household heard of it, they went down there to him. Everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him; and he became captain over them. Now there were about four hundred men with him.

Now David is a type of Jesus, isn’t he? He is the Son of David.

1 Samuel 22:3-5: And David went from there to Miz pah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and my mother come and stay with you until I know what God will do for me.” Then he left them with the king of Moab; and they stayed with him all the time that David was in the stronghold. The prophet Gad said to David, “Do not stay in the stronghold; depart, and go into the land of Judah.” So David departed and went into the forest of Hereth.

The cave of Adullam, and there was the register of the faithful, but notice it was a stronghold, but God said: “It is your stronghold for today; it won’t be safe tomorrow.” Life on the hoof. The real stronghold is never in a place; it is in a person. The person may provide a place, the cave of Adullam today and the Lord will say “Go to this place today.” Wherever it could be, who knows where it could be? Where is the faithful gathering? Again, Saul is another type of the Antichrist; get the book. But just because you are in the cave of Adullam today, you might be in yaar Hesketh, the forest of Hesketh tomorrow. Now David was concerned about the things we are concerned about, his family. He was concerned about the wellbeing of his family, wasn’t he? And the kind of people who came? They were not the high and mighty; they were the people who were broke, unemployed, on the dole, struggling financially to make ends meet. The discon-tented, those who were sick over what was happening in the House of Saul. The outcasts of Israel and again, who is going to survive? Who is going to escape? This kind of people; these are the ones who are going to make it out of there. If anybody can be content--you look at practically every mainstream denomination, practically every one, now thank God for the ones that as a whole have not gone this way. Elim and Assemblies of God are not the true Pentecostals anymore. They are gone. You always have the Adullam cave. God will always raise up new places, new things. There is even a split now, some kind of a Reformed Anglican movement. I don’t know much about it, but I know there is one. This kind of division is going to become more and more acute. To Adullam’s cave, who knows where but notice this church was dynamic. The prophet Gad came and Gad told David where to go. He was not looking for a stronghold. The cave of Adullam was a stronghold but he realized his security was not by being in the cave, it was by being in the Lord. Once the Lord said to get out, get out. You see the flesh will always tend to look to the things that the flesh considers strong. We will always look to buildings, properties, bank accounts. The world will always look to the things the world considers strong.

Isaiah 31:1: Woe to those who go down to Eg ypt for help And rely on horses, And trust in chariots because they are many And in horsemen because they are very strong, But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord!

The natural propensity of the old creation is to look to the things that the world considers strong: Chariots, horses, numbers, money, bank accounts, buildings. The old nature will always try to find security in the things that the natural man would look to. The new creation would look to security in what the supernatural man would look to. This place may be a stronghold, but our real strong-hold is the Lord. Martin Luther ended badly, he began right, I am telling you. Martin Luther began right. No matter what you think of what he became or what he did, it appalls anybody who reads what he did but he began right. When he was being pursued by the Medieval Roman Catholic Church and there was a prince hiding him and he wrote “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” and he had a German prince hiding him in a tower of a castle and the Pope was trying to kill him. When he was up there he translated the Bible from Latin into German and later on the Catholic Church put on a play, which was still being performed into the twentieth century of how Lucifer appeared to Luther when he was hiding in this tower, where this German prince hid him and was telling him how to translate the Vulgate from Latin into German, that Satan was telling Luther how to do it. Well Luther hid in this place and he hid in that place and hid in another place, it was the life on the hoof. He realized “A Mighty Fortress is our God.” His strength was in the Lord. Let us look at what happens next:

1 Samuel 24:1-2: Now when Saul returned from pursuing the Philis-tines, he was told, saying, “Behold, David is in the wilderness of Engedi.” Then Saul took three thousand chosen men from all Israel and went to seek David and his men in front of the Rocks of the Wild Goats.

And if you go there today, you will still see the wild goats and it is a beautiful place. We take a group up there and we sing, we read that this is where David hid from Saul and we sing “You Are My Hiding Place.” It is so nice up in Engedi. So, the Lord brings him from Adullam to Engedi. The hiding places of God, they are temporary. The location is not the thing; it is the Lord Who is the thing. When He says “Go” you go. When He says “Stay” you stay. And it works. When the Cultural Revolution happened, when the “Bamboo Curtain” came down over China and all the missionaries were kicked out, the Chinese believers like Watchman Nee were arrest-ed, there were only about one million believers in China when that happened in the late ‘40s. When the communism of Mao took over there were one million believers in China. By the time the Bamboo Curtain began to lift, and it is still not totally lifted, they are still persecuting Christians terribly, and again you will find the usual hypocrisy of Western governments, including America, Britain, and France trading with them, despite the fact that they are persecuting Christians. By the time the Bamboo Curtain lifted just a little bit, there were a lot more than one million; there were a lot more than 10 million. Nobody knows how many millions and millions there were. That church grew. It grew under a persecu-tion that it did not grow under when there was Hudson Taylor; God used him to go there and bring the Gospel and everything and they got the thing going but the Church could never seem to grow beyond a certain point in China. They were considered unconvertible almost, like true heathens. But it grew, without any missionaries, without any help from abroad, without anything, the only thing they had was persecution. They had no buildings. They had no set congregations. They had no set meeting places. All

they had was an Adullam cave or the cave of Engedi, that was all they had but that was what God’s provision was and the Church grew and blossomed. The biggest church in the world is in China, despite not having any buildings, Bible colleges or any anything. Life on the hoof. It works. It worked for David; it worked in China and it is going to work for the faithful Christians in the Last Days. Our hiding place is always in a person.

Isaiah 16:1-5: Send the tribute lamb to the ruler of the land, From Sela by way of the wilderness to the mountain of the daughter of Zion. Then, like fleeing birds or scattered nestlings, The daughters of Moab will be at the fords of the Arnon. “Give us advice, make a decision; Cast your shadow like night at high noon; Hide the outcasts, do not betray the fugitive. “Let the outcasts of Moab stay with you; Be a hiding place to them from the destroyer.” For the extortioner has come to an end, destruction has ceased, Oppressors have completely disappeared from the land. A throne will even be established in lovingkindness, And a judge will sit on it in faithfulness in the tent of David; Moreover, he will seek justice And be prompt in righteousness.

Now it says in Daniel that this is of Moab “He will not enter the Beautiful Land.” Somehow, what happened with Antio-chus Epiphanes in some way hints at the Antichrist. I am not saying in what way it does, I am simply saying that it does. It is interesting, it says this land will not be given into his power. It will be a place of refuge from the Antichrist in Daniel. Now, to what extent that is a geographical truth or simply using geography to illustrate a spiritual truth is another issue. To what extent it is A, B or possibly a combination of A and B is another issue. Yet the idea is it is in Isaiah, it is in Daniel and now it is here, it is in Revelation, they will be hidden. In 1 Kings 18:4-13 what happens? Elijah flees from Jezeb-el, doesn’t he? If you have heard the recordings, you have the story, how John the Baptist, Elijah and Elisha all have the same spirit, right? The wicked woman covets the vineyard, Naboth’s vineyard for Ahab the King. This brings her into conflict with Elijah and Elijah flees. The wicked woman turns the king against Elijah. John the Baptist has the same spirit as Elijah. John the Baptist’s ministry takes place on the Plain of Jericho, the same place where Elijah’s ministry ends and Elisha’s begins; they are all in the same spirit. What happens? The wicked woman turns the king against John. Well, the same thing happens in Revelation. The vineyard—Israel and the Church are coveted by the Antichrist, the spirit of false religion tries to get it, the woman Jezebel is a picture of that spirit in Revelation. This somehow brings conflict with the ministry of Elijah that is coming. One is like the other. Elijah fled from this woman and was protected. Somehow that kind of thing happens in the Last Days. We have not seen the end of the Elijah ministry and the woman Jezebel is not merely an historical figure, she is a future figure, not a literal woman but the spirit of false religion in league with the political system. Even the judgment on Jezebel, remember when they had her skull and her hands in a puddle of blood and the dogs were lapping up the blood out of the puddle; what a scene that must have been! That is a type of the judgment on the wicked woman in Revelation. One is a picture or a foreshadow of the other. Do you know what I mean? In this, Elijah was hid. Joshua 2:1-11, the same idea. Then Joshua the son of Nun sent two men as spies secretly from Shittim, saying, “Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” [See, the meek shall inherit the earth, there is a millennium. How can the meek inherit the earth if there is none, unless, of course, you are “Kingdom

Now” and believe you are going to inherit it now. I don’t even want it the way it is now. Who wants a polluted planet?] So they went and came into the house of a harlot whose name was Rahab, and lodged there. It was told the king of Jericho, saying, “Behold, men from the sons of Israel have come here tonight to search out the land.” And the king of Jericho sent word to Rahab, saying, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered your house, for they have come to search out all the land.” But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them, and she said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they were from. It came about when it was time to shut the gate at dark, that the men went out; I do not know where the men went. Pursue them quickly, for you will overtake them.” But she had brought them up to the roof and hidden them in the stalks of flax which she had laid in order on the roof. So the men pursued them on the road to the Jordan to the fords; and as soon as those who were pursuing them had gone out, they shut the gate. Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof, and said to the men, “I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land have melted away before you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Eg ypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. When we heard it, our hearts melted and no courage remained in any man any longer because of you; for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

She hides these two guys. Now in the “Autumn Feasts of Israel” recordings, we explain how these two men are like the two witnesses in Revelation 11, how it is the same. They marched around Jericho for seven days, on the seventh day they did it seven times and they blew the trumpets. Revelation is the same. You have the seven seals and the seventh seal has seven trumpets and they blow the last trumpet and the walls of Jericho came down. And they blow the last trumpet and it says the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of our God and His Messiah. It follows the same pattern. The Levites had to be totally silent when they marched around, and it says there was silence in heaven for half an hour; it is the same exact pattern and we’ve got these two spies who rescue the woman. The gentile woman and her family somehow typify the raptured Church; they get out. The rest gets destroyed. So, she hides God’s messengers, God’s spies, God’s agents and by hiding them, she herself gets rescued. Again, all these things teach something about something that is coming. One of the most important chapters in the Bible in understanding the Last Days is in Isaiah 28:

Isaiah 28:15-17: Because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we have made a pact. The overwhelming scourge will not reach us when it passes by, For we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception.” Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed. [This is, of course, Jesus himself.] “I will make justice the measuring line And righteousness the level; Then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies And the waters will overflow the secret place.

What these people do is try to make a hiding place of their own. Falsehood becomes their refuge! Today there are people who are doing this; they are making falsehood their refuge. I will tell you one falsehood— “Once Saved, Always Saved” uncondi-tionally. Now I believe we are eternally secure in Christ and noth-ing can snatch us out of the Father’s hand, but if you choose to get out of your own choice, you are no longer in Christ. “Once Saved

Always Saved” is taking refuge in a falsehood. I was with a backslidden Christian in Egypt who was getting drunk every day and he was in the travel business and he was going to bring a Moriel tour from Australia. I said “No you are not. Not until you repent and get this victory over your life in this area. I am not doing any business with you. We run Christian tours; I am not doing it.” He said, “I’m a Christian.” I said, “You are a backslidden Christian” and he got really angry. He was into “Once Saved, Always Saved” and this becomes licentiousness. “Without holiness, no man shall see God.” Falling is one thing, dropping your cross is one thing, but throwing it away? Practicing sin? They are making falsehood their refuge.

In Jeremiah’s day, there was the same thing. Jeremiah predicted what was already becoming a reality in the time of Isaiah. “Victory, victory, we are going forth in victory. We are not going to suffer. We are not going to know defeat. We are the King’s kids, we are God’s people.” That is what they were saying in Jeremiah. Read Jeremiah 5. What are they saying today? The same stuff. They are making falsehood their refuge. And it is an obvious lie. They think because they live here, they are any better than the Christians in China, Iran, or Nigeria who are being persecuted? It is those Christians in China, Nigeria, and Iran who have the real refuge. These guys who believe all this stuff, this “Kingdom Now.” They are making falsehood a refuge. In the Last Days, it becomes a big problem. There are two kinds of hiding places. There are two strongholds. There are two kinds of refuge. There are the ones God is preparing and there are the ones that people will prepare for themselves. The ones that people prepare for themselves, those who take refuge in those places they have prepared for themselves will be no safer than the people at Qumran, in the Herodian or at Masada! Those whose refuge is in the Lord will be as safe as the people in Adullum, Engedi, and Petra. There are two kinds of places of refuge. People are building refuge. You talk to these guys, you confront them with the facts about the decline of Christianity, just the mere statistical facts of the declining church attendance, rising divorce rates, the growth of Islam and Eastern religions, you confront them with the facts. Here, they say “We are having a revival, God is moving, God is doing this…” Give them the facts, what will they take refuge in, falsehoods, won’t they? They will always take refuge in some kind of falsehood. They are just oblivious to reality. That is what was happening before the temple was destroyed in 70 AD and it was what was happening before the temple was destroyed when Jeremiah predicted it. They were taking refuge in falsehoods. They are building places of refuge now and they are going to be just as worthless as Masada. They are building Masada’s all over the place. I do not want a Masada. I want an Adullam cave, I want a cave of Engedi, that is what I want. If you saw Masada; if you compared the hiding places of God to the hiding places of men, just looking at them, you would think it was ridiculous that a cave in Engedi would be safe compared to the Herodium or to Masada, those are so impressive, how could the Romans have ever gotten up there? It is a big mountain, with a plateau on top of it and a fortress on top of that. Inaccessible; you have to get up there with a cable car now. How in those days could they have gotten up there? You’d think the thing was invincible. It was so big and high. That is what the flesh always looks to big programs, big buildings, big this, big that and they are doing that now. A false security.

Isaiah 28:19-20: “As often as it passes through, it will seize you; For morning after morning it will pass through, anytime during the day or night, And it will be sheer terror to understand [t]what it means.” The bed is too short on which to stretch out, And the blanket is too small to wrap oneself in.

The bed of the flesh; they get into the flesh. “To whom will he interpret the message,” it says. You see, there is a secret message in the Bible. Not a new revelation but an understanding of a revelation already in there. Who is this Antichrist? What is he going to do? How is he going to infiltrate the Church? How is he going to deceive, not only the nations and the Jews, but how is he going to deceive so many Christians? How is he going to do it? How do we identify this guy? It says it is sheer terror to understand what it means. It is a sheer terror! “As often as it passes through…” It is going to come and come and come, very frighten-ing. The report or the message is what the Hebrew says. It is a terror to understand it. We are in a situation now where it has gotten to the point, I wonder if the people who have gone into this stuff, if anything is going to shock them out of it. Do you know what I mean? It will be too late. Is there any way for them not to be taken in? Let me show you what I mean:

Matthew 24:24: For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.

I don’t want to go into it again; we have done it enough, what we talked about from Timothy—Jannes and Jambres (pharoah’s magicians), where the Antichrist and False Prophet are going to use all signs and wonders to deceive people, just like in Toronto. And the thing that Jesus talks about the most, “What will be the end of the age, what will be the sign of your coming?” It is not wars, earthquakes, rumors of wars, famines. He talks about those, but the thing He comes back to four times is deception. He talks four times as much about deception as He does anything else. If possible, the elect will be deceived. Now, what these liars you have in churches like Elim, particularly Elim ministers, a lot of them are professional liars, I am convinced. “If possible - well, it is not possible.” That is what they are saying; you’ve heard them say that “It is not possible.” One, if it was not possible, how come Jesus would talk about it four times more than He did anything else. If it was not possible, He would not keep reiterating the possi-bility. “See to it that no one deceives you.” It is an irrational argument they are giving anyway, but more than that, that term “impossible” is an interpolation. It is not found in the original Greek manuscripts. It is an interpolation. It is something that the translators put in there to help translate the Greek text more accurately but “if possible” is not found in any existing manuscript, not in any primary source manuscripts. Of course, it is possible, but they are taking an interpolation designed to help you under-stand that it is possible and saying “this means it is impossible” when the phrase does not even in the original sentence. This, again, has to do with the inferior caliber of people they allow to be ministers in Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches and I again, am a Pentecostal minister. You know, it is a strange thing. The older generation of Pentecostal leaders in Britain, guys like Aaron Linford and David Powell, and John Whitfield Foster, they were not unlearned men. They were not unlearned men; they were semi-scholarly, Aaron Morgan another one. Now that is all gone; you know, it is just like the goon show. The Pentecostal ministry has become the goon

show; you’ve just got goons. Anybody can do it. Unbelievable. Now, even a perfunctory knowledge of textual criticism would rule out as stupid the idea that it is not possible. They say it means it is not possible. It is possible. Jesus wouldn’t keep warning. The “if possible” is not even in the original text. It is unbelievable how this can be. To whom will he interpret the message? To these guys? Are you kidding me? Forget about reading Greek, they can’t even read English. I do not say this facetiously or derogatorily; I just say it is the truth. I get no pleasure out of saying that. I am not trying to mock or be arrogant, it is just the truth. These are the kinds of people they are listening to. “To whom will he interpret the message?” Not those guys, no way. Elijah learns the same thing:

1 Kings 17:3: “Go away from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan.

He had to go outside of the Promised Land and again, the places where Christians are going to find refuge, provision, and safety, it is going to be like that, just like Elijah fleeing. It is going to be outside of what they consider conventional. Our traditional ideas of Church are not by any definition the biblical idea of church. The biblical idea of church has nothing whatsoever to do with denominations, buildings, or hierarchies, except for Jesus. The things that we have so much identified with church buildings, properties, programs, trusts, hierarchical leadership, none of that has anything to do with the New Testament model or pattern of the church. And it is a strange thing that the restoration movement, which seeks out to restore what it says is New Testament Christiani-ty, and they say they are not going to be a denomination, at least that is what they said when they began, they became more denomi-nationalistic than the other ones. They get into total “Party Spirit” and heavy shepherding. They became more hierarchical and denominationalistic than the other ones. These established ideas--these places are not secure anymore and they are going to be less and less secure. One of the things that you can expect to happen, at some time in the not too distant future; I don’t mean necessarily months but certainly you are going to see this happen, mark my words when it happens, a financial shaking that is going to begin to crum-ble the property trusts of mainstream churches and denominations losing buildings and it is not just going to be a financial attack by Satan; it is going to be a judgment of God. I guarantee you that is going to happen. That is not to discourage any church from getting a building—if God says, “Get a building,” then get a building. If He says, “Get 10 buildings” then get 10 buildings, but realize if He says, “Get rid of the building,” then get rid of the building. Let us look at Zephaniah, in Hebrew Tsephanyahu; his name means “Hidden in Yahweh, Yahweh hides.”

Zephaniah 2:3: Seek the Lord, All you humble of the earth Who have carried out His ordinances; Seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden In the day of the Lord’s anger.

Now the idea of humility in the Bible, being humble, it is not the same as our idea. First of all, there is false humility, like the guy in Dickens, Uriah Heap, “I’m so humble.” Humility has to do with truth, the unequivocal truth, not trying to overstate, not trying to understate. Haughtiness in the Bible has to do with overstating. “Perhaps you will be hidden in the day of the LORD's

anger.” The possibility of escape is raised. The possibility for the faithful is raised. Now again, the Word of the Lord, in this trans-superscription in verse 1 of chapter 1, comes to Zephaniah, the son of Cushi, which means a black person but not necessarily in the sense that the term Cushi is normally used, because the guy has a royal family, royal connections:

Zephaniah 1:1: The word of the Lord which came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah:

Josiah was having a revival but it was to be a short-lived revival, more of a fad, the kind of revival that does not prevent judgment, merely delays it. As I have said before, even if revival does come to the Western Protestant world, it will only delay the judgment, nothing can prevent it for the same reason as in the days of Josiah. It was the blood of the babies that made God say that was too far, the blood of the babies under Manasseh. It was such that God said judgment has to come but He could delay it as long as the people remained faithful to what he had used them to bring about. I am convinced that because of abortion alone, non-thera-peutic abortion alone, God’s judgment is inevitable. The question is when. I think it can be delayed but I do not think it can be stopped anymore. I think that countries like Great Britain and the United States of America are particularly blood-guilty because of their Christian heritage as nations and societies. I do not think America can escape what it has done or that Britain can escape what it has done because of abortion alone. I do not believe so. I will tell you; the nation of Israel has the highest abortion rate in the developed world. The Israelis have killed more of their own children than Adolph Hitler. Hitler killed 1.5 million Jewish children and the modern state of Israel, a nation born out of the Holocaust, has killed even more than Hitler. Do not let anyone tell you Israel is a righteous nation. It is an unrighteous nation in rejec-tion of its own Messiah and in rebellion against its own God. The Jews are not back in that land for a blessing or a promise, they are back in that land for a deception and a Great Tribulation. They need to be saved.

Zephaniah 1:5: “And those who bow down on the housetops to the host of heaven, And those who bow down and swear to the Lord and yet swear by Milcom,

Claiming to be Hebrews, they also practiced alien religion. It is like somebody who goes to the local church now and then goes home and reads the horoscope. But not only that, I am telling you, this stuff you see happening with Toronto, that is just New Age. Simply New Age hypnotic induction, New Age religion, that is all it is.

“They swear by the LORD and yet swear by Milcom” who was an idol, a demon.

Zephaniah 1:6-8: And those who have turned back from following the Lord, [Backsliders. Backsliders have no security; they will not be hidden. Backslidden believers will not be hidden if they do not repent.] And those who have not sought the Lord or inquired of Him.”Be silent before the Lord God! For the day of the Lord is near, For the Lord has prepared a sacrifice, He has consecrated His guests. “Then it will come

about on the day of the Lord’s sacrifice That I will punish the princes, the king’s sons And all who clothe themselves with foreign garments. And those who have not sought the LORD or inquired of Him."

You know, I have often said Laodicea means ‘people’s opinions’ in Greek and so much of the way the Church is run today is run on the ideas an opinions of men instead of on the Lord. “I think this is a good idea; I think that is a good idea.” Well, it may be a good idea but that does not mean it is a God idea. I have a lot of good ideas; it does not mean they are God ideas. Sometimes I get it wrong. It might be a good idea, humanly speaking, but there is a big difference between a good idea and a God idea. God will use human intellect, human ability, but He has to have the final word. All people like this, those who will follow their own reasoning, those who are backslidden and those who are virtually trying to be Christians and Pagans at the same time. I don’t know if you watched that thing with the Pioneer people on TV at Christians when they were banging on dustbin lids. There was a Christmas service; they did not mention the name of Jesus once. There was the perfunctory mention of Him in one of the hymns they sung but they did not mention the name of Jesus once and the Word of God was not even opened. It was people banging on dustbin lids, these are Pagans. I regard people like Gerald Coates and Patrick Dixon more as New Age gurus than I do Christian leaders. These people will not be hidden, and again, what will they take refuge in? False-hood!

Zephaniah 1:12: “It will come about at that time That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And I will punish the men Who are stagnant in spirit, Who say in their hearts, ‘The Lord will not do good or evil!’

This talks about the Bedikat Chametz of the Jewish Passover, of course, looking for leaven, looking for sin, but leaven is also false doctrine, isn’t it? “Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, teaching as precepts of God the inventions of men.” All this Celtic root stuff and a lot of this stuff in the Alpha Course books. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” True doctrine, true teaching will expose this stuff. The Lord will search this stuff out, expose it, “Here it is, here is false doctrine, here is leaven.”

Zephaniah 1:14-16: Near is the great day of the Lord, Near and coming very quickly; Listen, the day of the Lord! In it the warrior cries out bitterly. A day of wrath is that day, A day of trouble and distress, A day of destruction and desolation, A day of darkness and gloom, A day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of trumpet and battle cry Against the fortified cities And the high corner towers.

Whenever you see this thing, “Set the trumpet to thy mouth, blow a trumpet in Zion,” it is always to do with the Hebrew Feast of Trumpets in some way and it is about judgment coming, except, of course, in the Vineyard where they say it is the “Manifest Sons of God.” The possibility of being rescued is raised but he begins by talking about what is going to happen before that possibility comes into play. Coming against and openly addressing the influx of false religion and paganistic practice into true worship. Somebody has got to stand up and tell the truth about what is going on. Ecu-menism? That is pagan. The Roman Church is pagan. The backslidden state of so many people claiming to be God’s people

(verse 6) and the need to expose the leaven with lamps as we get closer to the Day of the Lord. “Perhaps you will be hidden.” Now this, of course, is a prophetic book written by somebody of royal blood. He is of a Davidic family.

Zephaniah 1:8b: "…. That I will punish the princes, the king’s sons And all who clothe themselves with foreign garments.

I have a picture of Prince Charles dressed in an Islamic wedding garment. I have a picture of it; somebody cut it out and sent it to me, a country that decapitates people for being Christian. “I will punish the princes, the King’s sons (the Queen’s sons). If the Hebrews could not get away with this stuff, do you think the British Royal Family is going to? This stuff you see happening, this is God’s judgment on the Royal Family. It is God’s judgment. “De-fender of Faiths?” An interfaith coronation service? We are going to have Hindus, we are going to have Muslims also crowing Prince Charles as the king. Do you think if you go to Saudi Arabia and try to have a bishop making the next king of Saudi Arabia it would go over well? When God’s people get bad, they become worse than the unsaved. You know the Scriptures actually say, “you are worse than a harlot because a harlot goes out and charges people for sex but you are a harlot who goes out and pays people to have sex with you.” That is what God said about Israel. He said they were actual-ly like a prostitute who goes out and instead of having clients and getting the clients to give you money to have relations with them, you go out and you pay the clients. I am telling you, the state of the Church today is abhorrent. Unsaved people would not dare to do this; unsaved people have more integrity than a lot of what is going on in the Church. Taking money from the poor and unemployed? Telling people they are healed and they die, they stop taking their medication and they die? That is terrible. I know unsaved people who are not that low. You know, I do not watch many movies but on airplanes I do. When I came back from Egypt a while ago, I put on this stupid movie and I put it off after a half hour and it was a movie, I don’t know what it was, some stupid thing with Geena Davis and she is in this movie, and some guy is in this movie and there was this one character in the movie who says “You don’t curse, you don’t smoke, you don’t drink, what are you a Mormon?” At one time, it would have been a Christian that people would have thought “You don’t smoke, you don’t drink..” Now it is Mormons who are seen as the moral people by secular society now. “Oh, Christians smoke, drink, you know, get drunk and pick up women and all of this.” The behavior among some backslidden Christians is worse than the unsaved people, some of them. The Muslims had a higher standard of morality than what I saw amongst some of the so-called Christians. It is true! It is absolutely the truth. And even the world sees now, it has become the Mormons who are the standard of some kind of obvious moral behavior. This is very, very, very sad. And it is not getting any better. In fact, it is going to get worse.

“But you humble of the earth, you who carry out his ordinances, seek righteousness, seek humility, perhaps you will be hidden in the Day of the Lord’s anger.” Well, I will tell you something, the Lord is angry!

These days every core doctrine of the Church is under extraordinary attack. One of the most important core doctrines is that of the Trinity, the Triune God … “God is one God eternally existent in Three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit”. Another way of stating it is “God is one "What" and three "Whos" with each "Who" possessing all the attributes of Deity and personality”. I am going to lay out the general case first against any teachings that intentionally or unintentionally try to deconstruct who God is, in particular who Jesus Christ is. I will then move on to a few specific cases and answer their assertions individually. First and foremost, any teaching that claims that God changed in character along some timeline is teaching heresy. God does not change.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 1 Samuel 15:29 Also the Glory of Israel will not lie or change His mind; for He is not a man that He should change His mind.” Psalm 55:19 God will hear and answer them— Even the one who sits enthroned from of old— Selah. With whom there is no change, And who do not fear God. Psalm 110:4 The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

These statements in the written Word are either true, or they are false. If they are false they can be disproved by other verses here and there. If they are true, which they are since we can see that from context and co-text, then God does not change. If he does not change then His character does not change. God purposed in Himself to send the Son to add humanity to Himself in the Incarnation so that He could shed his blood for our sins as the perfect sacrifice (Heb. 9:22), and rise from the dead to become the first fruit for all who believe. So then anyone who teaches that there is no Son of God in the Old Testament or that God (the “What” or the “Whos”) changed somehow in the New Testament is attacking the character of God. So some will say, “Where then is God the Son in the Old Testament”? The line of Adam to Shem to Abraham, and finally the sons of Israel, had encounters with God but they knew that no one could see the Father and live.

Exodus 33:20 He said, “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!”

They also knew they were dealing with, what they only knew how to term, “THE angel of God” or “THE” messenger of God. They knew the difference between “an” angel of God and “THE” angel of God.

The references to “THE angel of God” are as follows: Gen. 21:17, 24:7, 31:11, Ex. 14:19, Num. 22:22, Jud. 6:20, 6:22, 13:9, 1 Sam. 14:20, 2 Sam. 19:27, 2 Kings 1:3, 1 Chron. 21:30, Dan. 3:28, Zech. 12:8, Acts 7:35. Since Gabriel and Michael were revealed by name, this can only mean that the time had not come for Yeshua to reveal His name to men, only after the Incarnation. Notice that THE angel of the Lord is contrasted with “an angel”

who destroyed the people in 1 Chron. 21:15. Again, there are only three places in the New Testament that mention THE angel of the Lord. Acts 7:35 references the burning bush and Who was there speaking to Moses. Also take note that it was Yeshua speaking from the burning bush, yet when asked for his name he states it is “I Am that I Am” speaking of Himself in the “What” that is God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In Matt. 1:24 THE angel of the Lord spoke to Joseph before the Incarnation and naming of the baby. There is a difference of opinion where some commentators believe THE angel that spoke to Joseph was “an” angel, but others believe it was the pre-Incarnate Christ because of the phraseology. Finally in Rev. 22:6 Yeshua is in heaven when he gives the Revelation to John, therefore it uses the term “His angel”. All this is in contrast to when the Bible talks about “an angel of the Lord” which is one of the created beings that serve God. As stated before, you will notice that “THE angel of the Lord” or “THE angel of God” is no longer mentioned in the New Testament, with the exception of before the incarnation in Matt. 1:24, Acts 7:35, and Rev. 22:6. So after Jesus became the God-man for all eternity those who believe on Him do so in His Name. But he was not named in the Old Testament, with the exception that God (The “What”) gave His name through His Son in the burning bush. So the name of God … Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is YHWH, “I Am that I Am”. In the New Testament, post Incarnation, the name of His Son was revealed as Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ. We are to worship Him in the name of His Son, because it is in the name of His eternal Son that we can be saved and have eternal life. All the above is to prove why the Patriarchs were waiting for the Messiah and were taken to Paradise when they met Jesus in the Bosom of Abraham, having been justified by their faith.

Hebrews 11:10 for he (Abraham) was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. John 8:56 "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad."

The Son of God and Son of man are both mentioned in the OT.

Daniel 7:13 [ The Son of Man Presented ] “I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him. Daniel 3:25 He said, “Look! I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!” (NASB) Daniel 3:25 "Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God." (NKJV)

Nebuchadnezzar worshipped false gods till he was shown the power of YHWH. This is why he described the fourth person walking in the fiery furnace as a son of the gods. But this was clearly The Son of God, as interpreted correctly in the KJV and NKJV, though not the literal translation which is “like a son of the gods”. God is defined as Elohim (plural) as opposed to El (singular) all the way back starting in Genesis 1:1. God also speaks of Himself in a plural form:

Genesis 11:7 "Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech."

Even though many Jews missed it, except for Abraham, David and others, God always consisted of more than one Person … one God eternally existent in Three Persons … Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Even in the first part of the Jewish “Shamah” Deut. 6:4 states: “Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!” implying that Elohim is a plurality of Persons in one God. Why would you have to double down on repeating “the Lord is our God” in a monotheistic culture by adding “the Lord is one”? I know this was done as a witness to the polytheistic cultures around them but I have always been curious why the Lord had them repeat this phrase. Perhaps to set them up for when the mystery of Yeshua was revealed? Melchizedek, whether a Christophany or possibly Shem (who was still alive in Abraham’s time), was mentioned as a type of the Son of God from the Old Testament.

Heb. 7:1-3 For this man, Melchizedek, King of Salem and priest of the Most High God—he who when Abraham was returning after defeating the kings met him and pronounced a blessing on him—to whom also Abraham presented a tenth part of all—being first, as his name signifies, King of righteousness, and secondly King of Salem, that is, King of peace: with no father or mother, and no record of ancestry: having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made a type of the Son of God—this man Melchizedek remains a priest for ever.

In any case, Jesus is uniquely God come in the flesh.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jesus Christ is mentioned as being “the Word” in only this verse in the New Testament. This is not His name as that is Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ. It is an attribute, descriptive of Who He is and what He does, such as Yahweh Jireh (Yahweh

will provide). Jesus Christ is the Word of God, both in what He speaks and in His character. So Jesus did not change from the Old Testament, but continues as Yeshua HaMashiach Who is the Word. Worth mentioning is that Jesus, along with the Father and Holy Spirit, created the universe.God ("What") created the universe: Gen. 1:1 Father ("Who") created the universe: Mal. 2:10, Mt. 25:34 Son ("Who") created the universe: Col. 1:15-16, Heb. 1:2, Mt. 13:35 Spirit ("Who") created the universe: Ps. 104:30, Job 33:4, Jn. 6:63God does not change.

Jesus does not change.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever. John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Jesus did not change from the Old Testament to the New. He is the same. God did not change His mind or His plans. Jesus fulfilled the plan of the Father from eternity past for His Son to add humanity to Himself in the Incarnation. He is now the Hypostatic Union forever, 100% God and 100% man for all eternity. He is not 50/50 but fully God and fully man. He never, at any time, dropped His Godhood or His humanity after the Incarnation. He submitted Himself to the will of the Father, but remained Divine throughout (Phil. 2:7-10). Those who teach Adoptionism also commonly teach that Jesus was not God while on earth or before His baptism, using these verses. That is a false, demonic interpretation. God cannot cease to be God. Barnes New Testament Notes says: that it cannot mean that he literally divested himself of his Divine nature and perfec-tions, for that was impossible. He could not cease to be omnipotent, and omnipresent, and most holy, and true, and good. Jameson, Faucet and Brown Commentary states: (1) He was in the form of a servant as soon as He was made man. (2) He was "in the form of God" before He was "in the form of a servant." (3) He did as really subsist in the divine nature, as in the form of a servant, or in the nature of man. For He was as much "in the form of God" as "in the form of a servant"; and was so in the form of God as "to be on an equality with God"; He therefore could have been none other than God; for God saith, "To whom will ye liken Me and make Me equal?" (#Isa 46:5) God cannot stop being God. He was not just a man baptized in the Holy Spirit as many Word of Faith and Latter Rain teachers claim, but He was God come in the flesh. To prove a person is truly born again they must believe and proclaim that God came in the flesh.

1 John 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; Another proof of the Son in the Old Testament is that Jesus references David recounting how the Lord was speaking to his Lord.

Psalms 110:1 The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool." Matthew 22:43-45 He (Jesus) said to them, “Then how does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, Until I put Your enemies beneath Your feet”’? If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his son?”

Barnes New Testament Notes states: Verses 41-46. Jesus proposes a question concerning the Messiah. See also #Mr 12:35-37 Lu 20:41-44. Verse 41. While the Pharisees, etc. Jesus, having confounded the great sects of the Jews, proceeds in his turn to propose to them a question for their solution. This was done not for the purpose of vain parade and triumph, but, 1st. to show them how ignorant they were of their prophecies. 2nd. To humble them in view of their ignorance. 3rd. To bring to their attention the true doctrine respecting the Messi-ah —his being possessed of a character superior to that of David, the most mighty king of Israel—being his Lord, at the same time that he was his descendant. Prov. 8:22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.14



Matthew Henry Concise Commentary states: #22-31 The Son of God declares himself to have been engaged in the creation of the world. How able, how fit is the Son of God to be the Saviour of the world, who was the Creator of it! The Son of God was ordained, before the world, to that great work. Does he delight in saving wretched sinners, and shall not we delight in his salvation? John Gill Commentary says: Ver. 22. The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, &c.] Not "created me", as the Targum and the Septuagint version; which version Arius following gave birth to his pernicious doctrine; … besides, Christ, as the Word and Wisdom of God, is the Creator of all things, and not created, # John 1:1-3 The Son of God was the One who led Israel through the wilderness out of Egypt.

Exodus 14:19 it is written, And THE angel of Elohim, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them.

One of the points where false teachers get it wrong is misusing and misinterpreting the phrase “only begotten son”.What does it mean that Jesus is God's only begotten son? The phrase “only begotten Son” occurs in John 3:16, which reads in the King James Version as, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The phrase "only begotten" translates the Greek word monogenes. This word is variously translated into English as "only," "one and only," and "only begotten." It's this last phrase ("only begotten" used in the KJV, NASB and the NKJV) that causes problems. False teachers have latched onto this phrase to try to prove their false teaching that Jesus Christ isn't God; i.e., that Jesus isn't equal in essence to God as the Second Person of the Trinity. They see the word "begotten" and say that Jesus is a created being because only someone who had a beginning in time can be "begotten." What this fails to note is that "begotten" is an English translation of a Greek word. As such, we have to look at the original meaning of the Greek word, not transfer English meanings into the text. So what does monogenes mean? According to the Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Chris-tian Literature (BAGD, 3rd Edition), monogenes has two primary definitions. The first definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind within a specific relationship." This is its meaning in Hebrews 11:17 when the writer refers to Isaac as Abraham's "only begotten son" (KJV). Abraham had more than one son, but Isaac was the only son he had by Sarah and the only son of the covenant. Therefore, it is the uniqueness of Isaac among the other sons that allows for the use of monogenes in that context. The second definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind or class, unique in kind." This is the meaning that is implied in John 3:16 (see also John 1:14, 18; 3:18; 1 John 4:9). John was primarily concerned with demonstrating that Jesus is the Son of God (John 20:31), and he uses monogenes to highlight Jesus as uniquely God's Son—sharing the same divine nature as God—as opposed to believers who are God's sons and daughters by adoption (Ephesians 1:5). Jesus is God’s “one and only” Son. The bottom line is that terms such as "Father" and "Son," descriptive of God and Jesus, are human terms that help us understand the relationship between the different Persons of the Trinity. If you can understand the relationship between a human father and a human son, then you can understand, in part, the relationship between the First and Second Persons of the Trinity. The analogy breaks down if you try to take it too far and teach, as some pseudo-Christian cults (such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses), that Jesus was literally "begotten" as in “produced” or “created” by God the Father. Genesis 22:12 And he said, Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him; for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son, from me. 2 Timothy 1:9 who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,

“The Son” created all things (Colossians 1:13-16; Hebrews 1:2). Second, there are numerous verses that speak of God the Father sending the Son into the world to redeem sinful man (John 20:21; Galatians 4:4; 1 John 4:14; 1 John 4:10) and giving His Son as a sacrifice for sin ( John 3:16). Third, 1 John 3:8 speaks of the appearance or manifestation of the Son of God: “the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” Fourth, Hebrews 13:8 teaches that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever.” This same truth is also implied in John 20:31, where we see John’s purpose in writing his gospel was so that we might “believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.” It does not say that He became the Son of God but that He is the Son of God. Finally, one of the strongest evidences for the eternal Sonship of Christ is the triune nature of God and the eternal relationship that exists among the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Particularly important is the unique Father/Son relationship that can only be understood from the aspect of Christ’s eternal Sonship. One verse that speaks of the

eternal relationship between the Father and Son is John 16:28. "I came forth from the Father, and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again, and going to the Father." Implied in this verse is again the fact that the Father/Son relationship between God the Father and God the Son is one that always has and always will exist.

Historical AdoptionistsShepherd of Hermas

The 2nd-century work Shepherd of Hermas may also have taught that Jesus was a virtuous man filled with the Holy Spirit and adopted as the Son.[note 2][28][29] While the Shepherd of Hermas was popular and sometimes bound with the canonical scriptures, it didn't retain canonical status, if it ever had it. Theodotus of Byzantium Theodotus of Byzantium (fl. late 2nd century), a Valentinian Gnostic,[30] was the most prominent exponent of adoption-sim.[31] According to Hippolytus of Rome (Philosophumena, VII, xxiii) Theodotus taught that Jesus was a man born of a virgin, according to the Council of Jerusalem, that he lived like other men, and was most pious. At his baptism in the Jordan the "Christ" came down upon the man Jesus, in the likeness of a dove (Philosophumena, VII, xxiii), but Jesus was not himself God until after his resurrection.[30][32] Adoptionism was declared heresy at the end of the 2nd century and was rejected by the Synods of Antioch and the First Council of Nicaea, which defined the orthodox doctrine of the Trinity and identified the man Jesus with the eternally begotten Son or Word of Godin the Nicene Creed. James Strang A similar form of adoptionism was expressed in the writings of James Strang, a Latter Day Saint leader who founded the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Strangite) after the death of Joseph Smith in 1844. In his Book of the Law of the Lord, a purported work of ancient scripture found and translated by Strang, he offers an essay entitled "Note on the Sacrifice of Christ" in which he explains his unique (for Mormonism as a whole) doctrines on the subject. Jesus Christ, said Strang, was the natu-ral-born son of Mary and Joseph, who was chosen from before all time to be the Savior of mankind, but who had to be born as an ordinary mortal of two human parents (rather than being begotten by the Father or the Holy Spirit) to be able to truly fulfill his Messianic role.[44] Strang claimed that the earthly Christ was in essence "adopted" as God's son at birth, and fully revealed as such during the Transfiguration.[45] After proving himself to God by living a perfectly sinless life, he was enabled to provide an accept-able sacrifice for the sins of men, prior to his resurrection and ascension.[46] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adoptionism)

William Branham But once adopted, positionally placed in the body of Christ, you are heir of all things. Notice, that's what God did to His Son. God didn't ask us to do anything that He would not do. He took His own Son, Who had been obedient. This was just a little before the crucifixion. Remember what He said come down? The Son of man goes to Jerusalem, be delivered in the hands of the Gentiles. Said, "Don't tell the vision to anyone." But while they were standing there, God adopted His own Son, for He overshad-owed Him. And the Bible said that He put a robe on Him, insomuch that His raiment shined like the sun in its strength, set Him up before heavenly witnesses, before earthly witnesses. And a voice said, "This is My beloved Son, hear ye Him." Whatever He says, it's just as good as My Word. He was adopted. Jesus said, "All powers in heaven and earth is given unto My hands." The sin of man was upon the Son of man, and He had to become a man in order to pay the penalty. He died a sinner, you know that; not His sins, but mine and yours. That's where that love come in, how He took mine. Oh, hallelujah, how He took mine. (Wil-liam Branham, ADOPTION 2, JEFF.IN, 60-0518) Most modern Latter Rain proponents learned the heresy of Adoptionism from William Branham. It is clear Branham thinks Jesus Christ became the Son then ceased to be God at some point, usually the crucifixion. The idea that Jesus died spiritual-ly was famously taught by Kenneth Hagin. The fact is that Jesus died physically to shed His blood to cover our sins but God cannot die spiritually. That is an absurd notion, unless you don’t really believe that Jesus Christ was God in the first place. Equally absurd is the Branham teaching that the anointing left Jesus. Jesus Christ IS the Anointing. He is the coming King of Kings, and by His Spirit those who are born again share in His Anointing.

Anton Bosch (“Incarnational Sonship”) Explaining a servant and a son, Bosch says: … The son is part of the family (he is comparing the son here to the angels and they are servants) But you are my son today I have begotten you, he states this verse is misunderstood misinterpreted by the Jehovah witnesses. They say he had a beginning today I have begotten you, they if he is son and is begotten he cannot be eternal he cannot be God, this is their argument. But clearly he is not referring to the eternal beginnings of Jesus he is clearly referring to the day he was born in Bethlehem’s manger. That was the day he became a son. He was not always a son and we need to remember that and this is very difficult to explain to a JW. But the Old Testament does not reveal the relationship of Father and Son … (that relationship) did not exist in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament it was not the Father and the Son but it was God and the Word. In the beginning was the Word, not in the beginning was the Son in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and was God. His relationship and position in heaven and in the eternity past was that of the Word. … He only became the Son when he was born in Bethlehem’s manger 2000 years ago. That is when he became the son (Hebrews 1:3-14). (Anton Bosch) He then argues about an impression of the Father superior to the son, has more power, more respect, honor etc. Jesus was not subject to the Father, no they were equal. Each member of the Trinity in submission to the other ... The only reason He came as the Son was not because of His relationship with the Father, but in order to reveal to us the relationship which God the Father wants to have with us.” Just to be clear, the majority today seem to prefer the eternal sonship view (that Jesus always was the Son and the Father always was the Father). I hold to "Incarnational Sonship" (He only became the Son at Bethlehem). Neither view denies His deity nor His eternal co-existence with the Father and Spirit and is not even remotely a basis for division. But Mark in a overwhelming desire to prove me wrong and his obsession with the King James Version and a consequent inability to understand the word "monogenes" (Only begotten) went to this extreme. (Anton Bosch, Video, 10/20/18 afternoon) If the Son did not exist in the Old Testament, in fact for all eternity (which I have amply proven above) and then “became” the Son, then the character of God changed at some point. God does not change, not in character. In Henry Hart Milman’s 1840s book “The History of Christianity” Milman described how early Gnostics believed that Jesus didn’t become “the Son” until he was baptized in the flesh by John. Yeshua has always been the Son, has always been the Word, and has always been a Person in the one Triune God. Bosch claims to hold to the orthodox interpretation of the Trinity, yet picks it apart in his teachings. You cannot say you believe that Jesus Christ, the Son, is eternal then say that He did not become the Son till He added humanity to Himself in the Incarnation. There are many more modern Adoptionist teachers today, mainly in the Word of Faith, New Apostolic Reformation/Lat-ter Rain movements.

Greetings from Israel, We have just entered the hottest part of summer; the humidity has shot up and the extreme heat begun. This year spring and early summer has been very difficult for Hadas. She has been suffering from very painful sciatica for more than 3 months now; and it has been most distressing to see her weeping with pain and unable to sleep pacing the flat at night, finally falling asleep from sheer exhaustion. Thankfully it has eased a little, the acquisition of a new mattress also helped, and she is sleeping better, but it’s still very difficult and painful for her. Long-term agony has a soul-crushing potency that makes one wonder if the pain will ever end. The physical and emotional impact of long-term severe pain has made her unable to function normally and has been quite disruptive to our household arrangements and some projects that need finishing, as I have had to undertake for her as well. The very strong pain medica-tion she was prescribed has not always been able to blot out the pain, and prolonged use of these narcotic-like pain-killers is normally something we would studiously avoid, as they have an addictive nature. We would appreciate you prayers that this health issue would be resolved. The last two weeks right up to the deadline for submis-sion of this update, we have had Jacob over here with us, and I have been closeted in a small room taking dictation and copy-editing the amendments for the third edition of Shadows of the Beast, so if you see evidence of haste, you will understand why.

Take The Land! Dominion Theology:Alive And Flourishing In Israel

One of the disturbing indicators of how far the NAR has penetrated the Israel Body over here is the open appropria-tion of Dominion Theology evident in ministries and congrega-

tions. The doctrinal position of Israeli leaders who have embraced this heresy is fairly typical of mainstream NAR leaders with only minor differences. I thought I would share this with you, because of its profound implications for the future health of the Body and the Gospel testimony, as a whole here in Israel.

The Basic Premise From the very beginning, the dominionist aspect of the “apostolic-prophetic” movement, or NAR, was openly admitted by its primary architect Peter Wagner (who actually coined the term “New Apostolic Reformation” when he was looking for a term to describe his new movement): ‘Our theological bedrock is what has been known as DOMINION THEOLOGY. . . our divine mandate is TO DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARY, by the power of the Holy Spirit, TO RETAKE THE DOMINION of God's creation which Adam forfeited to Satan in the Garden of Eden. It is nothing less than seeing God's kingdom coming and His will being done here on earth as it is in heaven. This includes the need TO GOVERN apolitically, as well as to embrace spiritual warfare techniques that neutralize the control of our adversary within the functional and TERRITORIAL SPHERES OF AUTHORITY to which we have been assigned. To do this, we know that we must be in communion, we must receive revela-tion, and we must apostolically and prophetically proclaim that revelation.’1 Here’s Israeli false apostle Asher Intrater spouting the same thing: ‘After Yeshua was raised from the dead, He gave us a commandment to preach and exercise spiritual authority in His name. This Great Commission is parallel to the great commandment of dominion that God gave us in the first place. God called it dominion in Genesis 1, and Yeshua called it authority in Matthew 28. But DOMINION and AUTHORITY are virtually the SAME THING. Yeshua is referred to as the last Adam. It is as Yeshua were saying, “Look people, God told you to do some-thing. You didn't do it. Because you didn't do it, you inflicted great harm on yourselves. Now I've fixed you up and given you a second chance. let's see if we can get it right this time. The game-plan is this: GO OUT AND TAKE DOMINION,--let's try it again.’2 ‘We are not trying to escape, so much as we are believing to recapture. In the Garden of Eden we lived in ideal conditions on this planet. We had an ideal relationship with God. He walked and talked with us. The kingdoms of this world are to become kingdoms of our lord.’ (Rev. 11:15). ‘We have Heaven in our hearts but want to see those heavenly realities reinstated on this planet.’ 3 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10 . . . We are praying and working for God's Kingdom to come down and be established here. The Kingdom of God exists wherever the will of God is done. Things on this earth are not being done according to God's will. Things are not being done as they are in Heaven. WE are out to change that.’4 ‘WE aim to change EVERYTHING on this planet that is contrary to the will of God.’5 Until Christianity became the official state religion under Constantine (an unparalleled spiritual disaster if ever

there was one), and what was thought of as the Church morphed into the state religion of Roman Catholicism with its horrid idolatries and blasphemies and persecution of the true saints, believers were not looking for a kingdom, or to rule over the nations in this age, but (in accordance with Jesus’ own words) in that which is to come. Asher Intrater tacitly admits that his espousement of dominionist teachings is at odds with the ortho-doxy and historic mainstream position of the immediate post-Apostolic and Ante-Nicene Church and that of doctrinally orthodox believers today: ‘ . . . It is our goal to reclaim this planet for the King-dom of God. This is a different sense of direction from what many believers have.’

Re-branding In the past Dominionism was mostly associated with Replacement or Supercessionist theology and often virulently anti-Israel (as for example, the UK Restoration Movement, a forerunner of the NAR). Some time ago however, and at least partly through the efforts of false apostles like Tikkun leader Daniel Juster and his associates, a more sanitised, Israel-friendly version appeared, and it became the key to seducing myriads of Israel-supporting believers both from within the Messianic movement and the broader Gentile church as well,--both here and outside Israel. Christians (particularly Charismatics and Pentecostals) who previously would have rightly rejected Dominionism because of its anti-Israelism, now became vulnerable to the grave spiritual seduction the NAR and its associated teachings represent. A name change also gave this warmed over delusion fresh appeal; some decades ago it went by names such as Reconstructionism and Kingdom Now, but now it’s called “The Seven Mountain Man-date” or similar sounding terms. ‘So far we’ve looked at NAR practices for battling territorial spirits that rule specific regions of the world. But territorial spirits can also rule over societal institutions, accord-ing to many NAR leaders. NAR apostles and prophets claim God has revealed a NEW STRATEGY FOR ADVANCING GOD’S KINGDOM, a strategy they call the Seven Mountain Mandate.’6 After a lot of body-filler and a re-spray this old decep-tion has been presented as another of those “new revelations” or “present truths” that today’s restored apostles and prophets claim the Body just can’t do without. ‘According to this revelation, the church must take control of the seven most influential societal institutions—called moun-tains—which are identified as GOVERNMENT, MEDIA, FAMILY, BUSINESS, EDUCATION, CHURCH, and ARTS. These institutions are presently dominated by secular humanists and other people who do not share God’s values. THE CHURCH MUST TAKE CONTROL OF THEM if it is to fulfil its mandate to advance God’s kingdom. The church’s mandate to conquer these seven mountains is often compared to Israel’s mandate to conquer seven nations before it could enter the Promised Land (Deut. 7:1).7 ‘In a book titled The Seven Mountain Prophecy, US prophet Johnny Enlow8 writes: “It’s the Lord’s plan to RAISE His PEOPLE up to TAKE every social, economic, and political structure of our nations.” & GOVERNMENT is seen as one of the most important institutions because it makes laws that affect every other mountain. NAR leaders believe that God is in the process of

raising up APOSTLES to POSSESS THIS CRITICAL MOUN-TAIN.’ ‘Another critical mountain is business, which controls wealth. When Christians possess this mountain, the wealth of the world will flow to the Church so it can be used to advance God’s kingdom. This will be the fulfilment of another popular NAR prophecy known as the Great End-Time Transfer of Wealth.’ To support this Seven Mountain “revelation” bizarre new spins are put on familiar scriptures, here’s another example: ‘These seven attributes of majesty [referring to Rev. 5:6] that He is worthy to receive each coincide with the seven main pillars of every nation’s culture or society. When we speak of discipling the nations [ref to Mt. 28:20], we are speaking of these seven pillars of society that the Lamb is worthy to receive! . . . it became evident to me that power speaks of Government; riches speaks of Econo-my; wisdom speaks of Education; strength speaks of Family; honour speaks of Religion; glory speaks of Celebration (Arts and Entertainment); and blessing speaks of Media. THE LAMB WAS SLAIN, making the ultimate sacrifice, TO ENABLE US TO DISCIPLE, OR INSTRUCT, THE NATIONS IN THESE SEVEN FOUN-DATIONS OF CULTURE so that we would in turn deliver them to Him, thus fulfilling Revelation 11:15: “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Our God is worthy THAT ALL AREAS OF SOCIETY IN EVERY PEOPLE GROUP COME UNDER His righteous RULE. In the chapters of this book I will refer to these foundations of culture, or sectors of society, as “mountains.” Revelation 17 describes a “harlot” who sits on a “beast with seven heads” that are “seven mountains.” This demonic entity, described as a woman, must be displaced from the mountains, or seats of power. THIS is OUR MISSION that we were COMMISSIONED BY JESUS to do.’9 Instead of the term Mountains, some dominionists use the term spheres or pillars of culture instead, or as in the case of our local false apostles, it’s being plugged under the more innoc-uous and biblical-sounding title “Gospel of the Kingdom”. The false apostles Dan Juster, Asher Intrater and Eitan Shishkoff who head up the Tikkun and Revive Israel apostolic networks and self-proclaimed ‘restored Israeli national apostolic leadership’ admit that the two are identical: ‘For 35 years our ministries have taught the GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM in a way that connects us to the newer “SEVEN MOUNTAIN/PILLAR TEACHING”. This teach-ing is now becoming popular in both charismatic and evangeli-cal streams.’10

Codifying the Dominion Mandate Just as the phrase ‘Gospel of the Kingdom’ has been hijacked and redefined, so too has the Great Commission in the most impudent and blatant manner. Cody Archer a rising-star in Asher Intrater’s Revive Israel apostolic network lays it out very explicitly in a message whose specific purpose is to clarify matters for Revive minions. ‘We want our team to really be clear on these two topics. . . . to get really clear on these topics and be voices both here in Israel and in the nations . . . I believe we are living in a time where the Holy Spirit is highlighting the word Ekklesia (Greek for Church, Kehila in



Hebrew) in order to help us rediscover and walk in its original meaning. . . . The original GOVERNMENTAL meaning of Ekkle-sia in the New Covenant is directly related to the [original] man-date God gave to mankind, "Let us make man in Our image ... let them have dominion ... over all the earth" (Genesis 1:26). This [Dominion Mandate] speaks of ruling, governing, bringing order, administration, protection, maintenance and more. WE HAVE BEEN CALLED TO RULE OVER ALL THE EARTH, ITS CREATURES AND RESOURCES.11

We are moving closer to the restoration of all things. Part of this process includes the GLOBAL EKKLESIA of Yeshua rediscovering her original identity and calling as A GOVERNMENTAL BODY of people called out to RULE THE EARTH and EVERY SPHERE of SOCIETY under King Yeshua's leadership (Acts 1:8).’12

‘The church is supposed to be . . . led by apostles, who have been sent out by the King to colonize and influence the earth with the culture of heaven.’13

That’s a relief! Just when we thought that the NAR wanted to take over the world! Ahh, they only want to influence it, so that’s OK then; -but wait . . . ‘[apostle] Os Hillman, the man behind the Reclaiming The Seven Mountains website, has recently suggested that activists should stop using the word “dominion” and instead use the word “influence” because “dominion” makes the “secular media [think] that Christians want to rule the world.’14

Senior apostle Daniel Juster is listed under the leader-ship15 of Peter Wagner’s ICAL (International Council of Apos-tolic Leaders). Note carefully Wagner’s definitions of Dominion: ‘Dominion has to do with CONTROL, dominion has to do with RULERSHIP. Dominion has to do with authority and SUBDUING, and it relates to SOCIETY. In other words, what the values are in Heaven need to be made manifest here on earth. Dominion means being the HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL. Dominion means RULING AS KINGS. It says in Reve-lation Chapter 1: 6 that He has made us kings and priests—and check the rest of that verse; it says for dominion. So we are kings for dominion.’16

Of course, the fact that Jesus and His real apostles never embarked on such a programme of assaulting the seven moun-tains of culture during their lifetime, nor instructed their follow-ers to do the same, seems to have escaped our modern would-be apostles. Scripture says that will be no reigning and ruling over the nations until Jesus has returned and set up His millennial kingdom. Then and only then will those who have overcome reign with Him. ‘But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star.’ (Rev. 2:25-28)

Apostolic Euphemisms and Deceit As we can see, ‘influence’ is another one of those NAR ‘euphemisms’ and like ‘authority’ it stands for dominion, just as ‘apostolic leader’ is substituted for apostle, and ‘alignment’ is a synonym for submission.17 This deceptive word game, where different terminology is adopted in order to disguise the true

meaning or intent of things, is actually intentional,--at least if the words of NAR-postle Johnny Enlow are anything to go by. ‘We need to learn to be "as wise as serpents and harm-less as doves" and realize that STEALTH AUTHORITY AND INFLUENCE are much PREFERRED over overt authority and influence. A low profile diffuses resistance from the opposition.’18

And this is echoed by Lance Wallnau another architect of the Seven Mountain revelation: “I am very particular where I use that language because you don’t want to startle the horses out of the barn. If you’re talking to a secular audience, you don’t talk about having dominion over them, I mean, my gosh, that’s what their afraid of, that’s what the Left is saying the Right wants to do and the Right is saying the Left wants to do. So the anxiety is based on misinformation. What I’ve said today is I want to find out who is anointed with the right ideas and I want to serve them – to be a Joseph, you’re going to shape Pharaoh. . . . This whole idea of taking over, and THAT LANGUAGE OF TAKE OVER, it doesn’t actually help:–IT’S GOOD FOR PREACHING TO THE CHOIR, and it’s shorthand if we interpret it right, BUT IT’S VERY BAD FOR MEDIA.19

So, there is a dissonance between what NAR-ites will say to one audience and to another. Amongst themselves they will talk directly; but when they are addressing audiences not committed to the dominionist vision, they are more evasive and economical with the truth.20 However, the truth is, as they say, “out there”, and though it is scattered around sometimes, with some research and reading you can find it. Here’s our local Israeli apostles’ definition of what this “influence” looks like: ‘WE are out to make every aspect of life on earth patterned after life as it is in Heaven. WE want to IMPOSE a heavenly lifestyle here. We are looking for Heaven to come to earth. The Kingdom of God may be described as "Heaven on earth.’21

The deceitful re-defining of Ekklesia as taught by Cody Archer of Revive Israel, is current in the NAR at the moment; people like dominionist, and ecumaniac Lou Engle (who along with Mike Bickle, Oded Shoshani of Be’ad Chaim and false apostle Asher Intrater co-led The Call in 2008 in Jerusalem), spells out very clearly his concept of ‘influence’: ‘Ekklesia is the governing assembly of heaven here on earth and is responsible for declaring WAR, releasing MILI-TARY STRATEGY, LEGISLATING the region, and electing officials. We are the delegated ambassadors, commissioned by Christ, to ENFORCE the will of God. We come together for the purpose of receiving instruction to DECREE into and LEGIS-LATE over a particular region or nation for TRANSFORMA-TION and reconciliation of mankind to our heavenly Father.’22 How Much Dominion Do Our Israeli NAR-cissists Want?

False apostle Asher Intrater answers with what he calls a ‘balanced view’. ‘Listen we don't have to take DOMINION over the WHOLE world before he comes back. Now because I believe in victory and I believe in the spirit of Dominion and faith and the coming of the kingdom of God, some people mistakenly think that I teach that we're going to take TOTAL dominion over the earth before he comes back that's not what I'm saying. . . . When Yeshua returns, the kingdoms of this world become the king-dom of God (Revelation 11:15).’23

Before we mistakenly imagine that total world domina-



tion is not on the NAR agenda, perhaps we’d better take a look at just how much of the world they do actually intend to take over before Jesus returns. Once again Revive Israel leader Cody Archer provides a helpful clarification of apostolic intentions. “The question is, HOW MUCH are we called to rule NOW before Yeshua returns? . . . we as believers, have to have this idea, this drive on the inside of us that WE WANT TO TAKE AS MUCH GROUND FOR THE KINGDOM AS POSSIBLE now before Yeshua returns.”24 Just in case we didn’t get it the first time, Archer reiter-ates: “ . . . though we're not going to ESTABLISH the full KINGDOM and GOVERNMENT of God all across the Earth before Yeshua returns, our goal and motivation should be to want to restore it AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE before He comes. And I believe THAT'S OUR STANCE AS A TEAM.25 We want to push for that we want to encourage this in the nations and stir up the vision. Really, we want to pass the vision, we want to cast the vision26 for restoring the kingdom of God on the Earth AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BEFORE YESHUA RETURNS.”27

Let’s remind ourselves at this point, that “Establishing the Kingdom” and “Restoring the Kingdom”, are being used as synonyms for Dominion, which, as we have seen means subduing and control. The false apostles of Revive Israel and Tikkun and their little buddies over here (and elsewhere) want to ultimately expand this control and take over as much of society as they can before Jesus returns.

How our false apostles plan to take over influence society?

‘We're not going to be lazy, we're not going to be passive, we're not just going to let the Devil have his way. But as much as possible before Yeshua returns we want to have this heart LIKE JOSHUA going in and LITTLE BY LITTLE TAKING OVER THE LAND, INCREASING OUR INFLUENCE.’28

It’s interesting that Archer should refer to Joshua in this context. The following points are taken from the notes of false apostle Dan Juster's 2004 seminar at the Tikkun Leadership Institute. In the early 80’s the false apostles of Tikkun saw an opening to export their restorationist doctrines and hypercharis-mania overseas to Israel. As Juster put it, there was: “Unprecedented opportunity in Israel, stronger response among Israel than in America.” This stronger response is not surprising as most Israeli believers did not, and most still don’t, have access to the kind of discernment materials in Hebrew that are available to English speakers, and in addition, doctrinal awareness over here is pretty low; no one knew of the NAR, the Latter Rain, Manifested Sons or Restorationist doctrines, or had the slightest clue about them until very recently. This has made it very easy for these grievous wolves to infiltrate the flock and pick off the sheep (particularly the vulnerable youth) while remaining completely under the radar. These false apostles and their confederates came with an agenda, and within Israel, they kept relatively quiet about their true nature until they became well established. Referring to Juster’s 2004 lecture again we clearly read that they came to conquer: ‘In the late 80’s, Asher said that he and Eitan were like Joshua and Caleb sent to scout out then take the land, while Dan

was to be like Moses and stay on the other side of the river.’ In the south, Asher and the late Eddie Santoro estab-lished a beachhead in the Tiferet Yeshua congregation run by Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram of MAOZ ministries. Tiferet Yeshua was really low-hanging fruit for apostolic takeover, as they share many Latter Rain/Manifested Sons and Hypercharismaniac commonalities. Juster reported in 2004 how things had progressed: ‘In the south, Asher Intrater and Eddie Santoro, both Tikkun Emissaries, give us a strong connection to the Tel Aviv congregation, now the most successful congregation reaching Sabras, over 200 now.’ So strong did Intrater’s connection with the Tiferet Yeshua congregation become that he was eventually appointed leader in 2013. ‘Asher Intrater, certainly one of the most seasoned Bible teachers in Israel today, known around the world and a close friend of Ari [Sorko-Ram], visited the monthly leaders meeting. It was there he was inspired as he observed this talented group of 25-30 Israeli young adults hungrily absorbing the mentoring from Ari and Shira. A few days after the meeting, ARI and ASHER met. With the SAME VISION and DNA, it seemed like the most natural conversation in the world . . . . with far reaching ramifications. ASHER agreed to LEAD Congregation Tiferet Yeshua with the ULTIMATE GOAL of EQUIPPING this core group of SABRAS to lead the congregation and FUTURE GENERA-TIONS - in his own words, “I feel anointed to lead the congregation and CONTINUE to train the sabras. I’m ready to go the distance - whatever it takes!” And that is exactly what is happening today at Congregation Tiferet Yeshua. This is an answer to our prayers!’29 To what end was Intrater appointed to lead the congre-gation? Ari Sorko Ram reveals this: ‘Asher, as pastor, will CONTINUE to IMPART, DIRECT, cast vision, EQUIP, and EMPOWER this NEXT GENERATION to PENETRATE ALL SECTORS OF SOCI-ETY in Israel: -GOVERNMENT, the ARTS and ENTERTAIN-MENT, EDUCATION, POLITICS, JUSTICE SYSTEM, FAMILY, and RELIGION. Only then, can all Israel be awak-ened to the Gospel!’30

By 2016 another Tikkun leader Chad Holland was imported and installed as senior pastor of King of Kings; he is now also CEO of King of Kings Ministry Network (KKMN). KKMN is the biggest apostolic network in Israel with many congregations and ministries under its “covering” and has extended its tendrils into multiple spheres or mountains of culture.

It begins with the Church In order for the Church to take over society, the false apostles must first take over the Church itself and bring it into subjection to their apostolic authority so that it can be unified and the kingdom can advance. In order to do this there needs to be a multi-pronged approach which goes something like this: Firstly, infiltrate and take over existing congregations and ministries where possible. Secondly, plant new congregations that will be inculcat-ed with NAR values and doctrine from their inception; these will be self-perpetuating purveyors of new protegees and perverted doctrines.

Thirdly, seduce the youth from other not apostolically “aligned” congregations across the Land and indoctrinate them with the NAR vision and values through youth conferences, training and leadership programmes and institutions. This will then seed the contagion into these other congregations and either advance their eventual future subversion, or draw affected youth away from such congregations and into NAR ones, as they “catch the vision” or experience some manifestations that appear good, but which they lack the biblical discernment to evaluate. Sadly many believers out here (particularly millennials) do not think doctrinally, but have absorbed the post-modernism of our time and think with their emotions. Whether they accept or reject something has more to do with how they feel about it;-whether or not something sits right with them emotionally, is more important than what the Bible says about a matter. This makes them very open to counterfeit spiritual experiences and suggestion through hypnotic and mood and consciousness-al-tering worship. It also makes them vulnerable to emotionally manipulative arguments as opposed to propositional truths. Notwithstanding, whichever way you look at it, from the perspective of the false teachers, capturing the next genera-tion is absolutely key as false apostle Juster observed: “The challenge is to raise up leaders; there’s a need for a bible college; . . . MJBI (Messianic Jewish Bible Institute) may come into Israel . . . Vision for discipleship, leadership training and multiplication of congregations ...” Even if the false apostles suffer a defeat in this genera-tion by being rejected by older, wiser and more doctrinally-aware and discerning believers; unless we secure the minds and hearts of vulnerable youth against this movement, then that awareness will not last. If the false apostles and pseudo-prophets succeed in passing on their baton of pseudo-apostolic deception and raising up leaders filled with their lying visions and doctrines of demons, it can begin to multiply exponentially like a metastasiz-ing cancer. The deceived youth of today are the false teachers and fake apostles of tomorrow.

The Joseph Mandate You may remember Wallnau’s words above, “I want to find out who’s anointed with the right ideas and I want to serve them – to BE A JOSEPH, you’re going to SHAPE PHARAOH. . . .” One term used to describe this in NAR circles is the Joseph Anointing; related terms are Joseph Mantle, Joseph Vision, Joseph Generation, Joseph Company etc. Our local trio of apostles express how they plan to ‘shape Pharaoh’: ‘As Joseph rose to leadership in Egypt, so is it God's desire today for true BELIEVERS to rise into key LEADER-SHIP positions in the fields of POLITICS, MILITARY, BUSI-NESS, BANKING, COMMUNICATIONS, RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, and so on. We must have a confident faith that God can give godly people positions of DOMINION in this WORLD. We should LOOK FOR particularly STRATE-GIC JOBs, which could affect the CONTROL of such areas as data management in BANKING systems, ENERGY RESOURCE alternatives, Internet communications, etc. . . . . . We need a generation of young Joseph leaders, ready to take DOMINION in their own COUNTRIES and BUSINESS fields.’31

Jerusalem the Goal “Dan sees himself as the bridge between our [Tikkun]

network and Jerusalem, for the word of the Lord comes out of Jerusalem.” I have mentioned in previous bulletins how the Israeli NAR has been moving forward not only towards union with Rome, but also in its schemes to form a second Jerusalem Coun-cil via a movement called Towards Jerusalem Council Two (TJC2). The ultimate aim is to unite all denominations (including Catho-lics and Eastern Orthodox) with Messianic Judaism to bring about the visible unity of all Christendom under the authority of a Second Jerusalem Council like that of Acts 15; something which our false apostles perceive as being a precondition to usher in their global revival and final end-time harvest before the Lord returns. TJC2 is an integral part of the theology of the Tikkun and Revive Israel pseudo-apostolic networks, and it is being percolated out into Israel’s (and other) believing youth through various indoctrination programs such as Gateways Beyond Cyprus etc. TJC2 leaders are a prominent component of Gate-ways Beyond. We know that during the tribulation that Jerusalem will become the world headquarters of the Antichrist, his base of operations and epicentre of false worship after he erects his image in the temple; here, worship of the Beast and even Satan himself will have its home; and here the Two Witnesses will be slain, in the city that has always killed God’s prophets. In a horrible foreshadowing of what is to come, the headquarters of TJC2 are now in Christchurch Jaffa Gate; and other seriously off the wall organisations have made their home in Jerusalem too; many so-called Christian TV stations have set up camp in Jerusalem (TBN, God TV, DayStar TV, Chuck Pierce’s Glory of Zion) and via satellite and the Internet, are already broadcasting heresies and blasphemy to every corner of the earth from Jerusa-lem. We can only expect this situation to wax worse before the Lord’s return. I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wick-edness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabi-tants thereof as Gomorrah. Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land. ( Jer. 23:14-15) The false apostles of Revive Israel and Tikkun see their movement as leading the Body of Christ at the end of the age, and indeed, in a fashion, they and their associates are indeed leading part of it,--into open spiritual adultery. ‘How is the faith-ful city become an harlot!’ (Is. 1:21)

Other Dominionist Ministries As touched on above, our apostolic trio aren’t the only ones in the Land with the dominionist vision; others have been seeding this into the Body for some time. Here’s some more details of high-profile ministries that are propagating this.

Ari and Shira Sorko Ram and Maoz Ministries Ari and Shira Sorko Ram have been some of the biggest importers of rank heresy into Israel for many years. Their book publishing operation has been translating some of the most damaging spiritual garbage and putting it into the hands of undiscerning and unsuspecting Sabra believers for years. Not

leadership of such explicitly NAR and dominionist organisa-tions as Empowered 21. To a great extent, Hilsden fits the NAR (but not the biblical) criteria for apostleship, and he rules over what is effec-tively an apostolic network. Hilsden’s King of Kings Ministries has recently become King of Kings Ministry Network, and is no longer an Israel-based entity alone, but has spread its tentacles to Asia, Germany and the USA. In King of Kings website, under Vision and Core Values they have the following explicit statement: ‘Apostolic Ministry: We are committed to inspiring and equipping people for pioneering new congregations and minis-tries that identify with our vision and core values.’ What is the character of this network, what values does it embody? Once again let’s look at some of the people who are appointed to positions of influence in it, because not only do Hilsden’s associates tell the story of who he and King of Kings are doctrinally, but his appointees do as well. In 2016, he retired as senior pastor of King of Kings Congregation in Jerusalem and appointed Chad Holland, son-in-law of false apostle Daniel Juster and a rising star from Juster’s explicitly dominionist Tikkun apostolic network, in his stead. That is evidence enough,--one doesn’t appoint a replacement pastor without doing a background check. Holland’s background and creden-tials would repel any doctrinally sound appointments commit-tee. However, when we add to this the background and creden-tials of the pastor of King of Kings Los Angeles branch then the terrible truth about where Hilsden is doctrinally and what he stands for fully emerges: Pastors Brian & Jeni Stivale [note: the appointment of female pastors alone is always a sign of rebellion against the Scriptures] are both veterans of the professional entertain-ment industry, having amassed over 125 professional roles in New York City, Los Angeles and Internationally. Since God called them from the Entertainment Industry to Full-Time Ministry, they have been Pastors of Music & Fine Arts for 3 major Christian Churches/Organizations producing dozens of original musical and worship-oriented productions. They travel the world preaching a life-altering Word to millions. Touring internationally with Pastor Benny Hinn, Brian & Jeni Stivale personally received through impartation and the laying on of hands,34 the blessing of inheritance, anointing, healing, authority and honor of his ministry to operate in signs and wonders, moving by the power of the Holy Spirit. too long ago they retired from pastoring their Tiferet Yeshua congregation in Tel Aviv and appointed false apostle Asher Intrater to take their place, thus effectively connecting it his apostolic network and that of Tikkun: ‘Asher Intrater, certainly one of the most seasoned Bible teachers in Israel today, known around the world and a close friend of Ari [Sorko-Ram], visited the monthly leaders meeting. It was there he was inspired as he observed this talented group of 25-30 Israeli young adults hungrily absorbing the mentoring from Ari and Shira. A few days after the meeting, ARI and ASHER met. With the SAME VISION and DNA, it seemed like the most natural conversation in the world . . . . with far reaching ramifications. ASHER agreed to LEAD Congregation Tiferet Yeshua with the ULTIMATE GOAL of EQUIPPING this core group of SABRAS to lead the congregation and FUTURE GENERA-TIONS - in his own words, “I feel anointed to lead the congregation and CONTINUE to train the sabras. So what is apostle Asher equipping them to do, what work of Ari and Shira is he continuing and what is his ultimate goal? ‘Asher, as pastor, will CONTINUE to IMPART, DIRECT, cast vision, EQUIP, and EMPOWER this NEXT GENERATION to PENETRATE ALL SECTORS OF SOCI-ETY in Israel --GOVERNMENT, the ARTS and ENTERTAIN-MENT, EDUCATION, POLITICS, JUSTICE SYSTEM, FAMILY, and RELIGION. Only then, can all Israel be awak-ened to the Gospel!’33

This of course is the Seven Mountain Mandate of Dominionism. Intrater’s own words chillingly describe how he expects to achieve this: When we started the Revive Israel team in 2004, we had in mind being a team like Yeshua and the 12. We had a group of about 12 young Israelis. I wanted them to be trained as A NEW GENERATION OF disciples and APOSTLES. If this is to be believed, then a dominionist program to create a new generation of NAR change-agents from the believ-ing Sabra youth has been going on for a very long time, and apostle Asher is the answer to Ari and Shira’s prayers; why? --because he has the same vision and doctrinal DNA. He has the same Latter Rain/Manifested Sons/Branhamite doctrinal leanings that they have. His ‘training for reigning’ is a continuation of the work that the Sorko-Rams have already been doing with the youth for the past several decades. The Body here needs not only beware of the present group of false apostles that are plaguing it, but the next batch of hypercharismatic dominionist crazies that is about to be unleashed on them as well.

Wayne Hilsden and King of Kings Ministry Network Though less overt about claiming the title than the false apostles of Tikkun and Revive Israel, from observations and information received, the evidence is all there that Hilsden is effectively a NARpostle himself in all but name. He has man-aged to fly under the discernment radar for a long time, but the evidence is all there if you know where to look and what to look for. He associates with many NAR ‘big dogs’ and a who’s who of A-list false teachers through his participation in the

Stivales are openly and avowedly dominionist, explicitly stating that the Church must obtain control of the Seven Mountains of Culture as can be seen from their YouTube channel.35 As Wayne states above, he pioneers things that are in line with his vision and core values. Another congregation in Hilsdens apostolic network, is King of Kings New Bedford. This congregation is connected with the International School of (so-called) Ministry (ISOM), which as a selling point in its promotional material presents the opportunity to learn from such “quality” teachers as Marilyn Hickey, Jack Hayford, Joyce Meyer, Robert Morris and Reinhard Bonke. When we consider all these things and add in Hilsden’s invitation of Kenneth Copeland protege Todd White in 2017, KKMN’s connection with IHOP and the Hillsong abomina-tion, then the King of Kings Community tagline “Revealing the true face of Yeshua to Israel and to the nations” comes across as a sick and blasphemous parody.

Peter Tsukahira and Kehilat HaKarmel ‘Israel was and is God’s example of His intended and lawful reign over every area of society and culture. . . A new reformation means the Church must be restored to its bibli-cal foundations so that once again society and culture will be transformed through the power and the glory of God’s king-dom on earth. . . .In God’s kingdom, the King, who is the Lord of the Harvest, wants religious activities that are efficient in discipling and transforming nations. He is not seeking religion that functions as an end in itself. Reformation today means new architecture for the Church!’36

The Invasion of the Body Snatchers37 How does our local situation compare with worldwide NAR? Again Johnny Enlow enlightens us. As this new SEVEN MOUNTAIN paradigm INVADES THE BODY OF CHRIST, many RISING Josephs will be equipped to make UNPRECEDENTED POLITICAL BREAKTHROUGHS.38

‘Many nations will form new POLITICAL PARTIES based on this NEW PARADIGM. Most will have a political name that carries the words reform, reformation, or restoration in it. These parties will not be Christian parties per se but rather kingdom-minded parties. They will understand the value in OPERATING in a STEALTH FASHION and in being as “wise as serpents and harmless as doves” (Matt. 10:16). These parties will explode from colleges and universities as a new generation gets a vision and faith to see and be part of what God is doing on earth. This political movement will not be blatantly Christian, but it will be blatantly moral. In many nations, the movement will gain almost overnight favour to be in power as its leaders carry the JOSEPH MANTLE of favour. Even in nations where they don’t immediately win elections, they will begin to set the POLITICAL AGENDA through their discourse. They will carry an anointing of spiritual reformation that will PENETRATE EVERY SECTOR of SOCIETY.’39

Note how Enlow explicitly describes the NAR domin-ionist paradigm,--as an invasion into the Body of Christ. In other words it’s something alien from the outside that wants to get in and take over; or as false apostle Daniel Juster puts it:-they are out to “take the Land”, and as if in fulfilment of Enlow’s words, in the recent general elections, a NAR and ecumenically

connected political party the “gush tanakhi” (Bible Bloc) which self-describes as “dream party of Jewish-Christian unity in Israel and worldwide” participated with the hope of obtaining a seat in the Knesset.

A State Within a State Another disturbing aspect of our apostle’s strategy for dominion, is the erecting of what appears to be a shadow govern-ment under restored apostolic control. Listen to the disturbing words of NAR-postle Intrater: ‘Because we don’t have a state right now, listen closely this is profound, WE NEED TO BUILD AN ORGANIZA-TION THAT WILL HAVE THE ABILITY TO GOVERN WHEN WE DO GET A STATE. He (Ben Gurion) called that organization the Histadrut which was a labour organization. He began to build an organization that ran the nation of Israel in the Jewish community while it was still under the British Mandate. AND THEY SET UP ALL THE ORGANIZING COMMIT-TEES THAT COULD RUN THE ENTIRE SOCIETY. , , ‘ ‘. . . Are you listening to me, to the parable I’m trying to get across? When the end of WWII came and the British left, it came in a moment! The vote came from the U.N. and they had to form a state immediately. Are you listening? They didn’t have time to figure out. They had to figure out how to rule before that happened. I’m talking to you. AND SO, IF WE ARE GOING TO RULE AND REIGN IN THE WORLD TO COME, WE NEED TO BE ORGANIZED INTERNALLY, with values of righteousness, with understanding submission to authority, with sacrificial love, we need to know how to be a community togeth-er of integrity of faithfulness. We need to know how to rule and reign with him so that when he comes in a moment he can say, “You were faithful in a little, come and rule over 10 cities. HE [BEN GURION] BUILT THAT AHEAD OF TIME, KNOWING THAT. Do you know the word ECCLESIA for church IN THE ANCIENT GREEK AND ROMAN WORLD MEANT PARLIAMENT? It meant the GOVERN-ING COALITION. Before you have a government, you have to build a governing coalition40, so that you will know what you do when you get to be the government. Are you listening? You can’t get elected into a government and not know what you are going to do. You have to have a platform, you have to have values, you have to have [1] an internal structure, you have to have [2] leadership, you have to have a [3] coalition, you have to [4] understand the government that you want to bring. Because when the moment comes, it happens instantly.’41 It is clear from the aforementioned words of Cody Archer which explicitly represent the Revive Israel position as a team, that Intrater’s words do not merely have application to the world to come, but are also connected with taking as much dominion as they possibly can now.

Pragmatism ‘... we ought to see clearly that the end DOES justify the means. What else possible could justify the means? If the method I am using accomplishes the goal I am aiming at, it is for that reason a good method. If, on the other hand, my method is not accomplishing the goal, how can I be justified in continuing to use it?’42

If something appears to produce results, i.e. increased spiritual manifestations, releases of spiritual power, makes people feel a sense of release, experience some kind of

presence/feel the anointing, draws people in and fills up the pews and ultimately increases the dominion of the Church in society then it must be good and of God--right? It doesn’t matter what they believe or what doctrines they hold too as long as the goal of Dominion is achieved by any and all means. Consequent-ly, we see our local apostles and certain others here are up to their necks in an ecumenical organisation like TJCII, (Towards Jerusalem Council 2), which wants to unite the Body here with other faiths like Romanism and Eastern Orthodox;--religions which deny the sufficiency of Christ’s Atonement and the suffi-ciency of Scripture, and teach all manner of blasphemous heresy and/or idolatry,--and in their councils anathematise true believ-ers to boot. In the same way you will see certain other Israeli leaders sitting on the Global Council of major NAR organisations like Empowered 2143, whose leadership includes (as one minister would have described them) “some of the worst cultists and false prophets who have ever polluted the Body of Christ”.44

Once again though, this pragmatism is not unique, but part of a global NAR pattern. If this is how pragmatism plays out in the religious arena, what will it look like when it is applied to the other ‘moun-tains’ of culture,--like politics for example? Enlow enlightens us: “It won’t be necessary for everyone in these five sectors to be Christian. They simply need to hold certain kingdom values. National reformation does not come by conversions but by exalting righteousness in practical ways. IF MORMONS WILL DO THAT BETTER THAN CHRISTIANS, LET THEM RULE. IF CATHOLICS WILL DO THAT BETTER THAN EVAN-GELICALS, THEN LET THEM RULE. THERE ISN’T A CHRISTIAN KINGDOM, ONLY THE KINGDOM OF GOD. It isn’t about Christian causes; it’s about getting things to function on earth as they do in heaven. God’s kingdom advances in righteous-ness, peace, and joy. The nations will be attracted to that because He is the desire of all nations (Hag. 2:7). A kingdom culture doesn’t operate because Christians are in power but because kingdom righteousness and justice are implemented. The righteous will inherit the earth. To those who are planning on hanging around a little while, the Lord says, “Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance” (Ps. 2:8)45

Of course when Roman Catholicism reigned over Europe, we all know how well that worked out for everyone, don't we? And yes, -do let’s enter into a political partnership with Mormons (who believe we are all gods and that Jesus is the brother of Satan) and have that ruling the country.--what could possibly go wrong with that? This is raving lunacy. How can you have “kingdom values” when you have wedded yourself to idolatry and blasphe-my to get into power? Note also, that Psalm 2:8, is a prophecy given to the Messiah Himself, not to us as individuals.

The Great Omission Apparently, all who thought the Great Commission in Matt. 28:20 was about taking the Gospel and making disciples from among the nations, have had it all wrong for the last 2000 years. The words “Go and make disciples of all nations” are now being re-defined as literally “discipling” whole nations by taking dominion (which is what they mean by authority), over them and imposing biblical morality upon them. There is also a common NAR motif that Adam crashed

and burned, not so much because of a positive act of transgres-sion against God’s revealed will, but from a failure to exercise dominion. The Fall is being increasing portrayed, not as the conse-quences of a sin of commission, but of omission; let’s look again at pseudo-apostle Intrater’s new revelation: After Yeshua was raised from the dead, He gave us a commandment to preach and exercise spiritual authority in His name. This Great Commission is parallel to the great commandment of dominion that God gave us in the first place. God called it dominion in Genesis 1, and Yeshua called it authority in Matthew 28. But dominion and authority are virtually the same thing. Yeshua is referred to as the last Adam. It is as Yeshua were saying, “look people, God told you to do something. YOU DIDN'T DO IT. Because YOU DIDN'T DO IT, you inflicted great harm on yourselves.46

According to this deranged thinking, the Great Com-mission has been reinterpreted; it is now less about preaching the Gospel and winning the lost, and more about taking control in a re-statement of the so-called Dominion Mandate of Gen.1:26. ‘Being a believer in Yeshua includes taking part in a grand vision and challenge to change the world. This "great commission" was given to the original Apostles and disciples right before Yeshua ascended into heaven. That COMMISSION INCLUDES making disciples (Matthew 28:18), preaching the gospel (Mark 16:15), and RESTORING THE KINGDOM TO ISRAEL.’47

Did you get that? What a blatant twisting of the Scrip-ture. Look again at Acts 1:6-8: When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt THOU at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the utter-most part of the earth." Can you see the part where Jesus says, “ME restore the kingdom? -Are you kidding! No, that’s YOUR job! you need to exercise dominion!” Neither can I. This is adding to Scripture. Our pseudo-apostolic leaders have their fingers in a quite a few pies and strong connections with some seriously disturbing organisations. For example, along with what amounts to a virtual rogues gallery of NAR elite, they adorn the Advisory Board of the international women’s movement Aglow, which is headed up by Apostlette Jane Hansen Hoyt. For a number of years there has been a close working relationship between Aglow and the self-proclaimed apostolic national leadership here; and because of this and Aglow’s strong connection with Israel, they are worth monitoring. Here is a taster of what Aglow are about from their own leadership training material. ‘As God’s representatives on earth, we walk in authority that He has given to us through Christ’s completed work on the cross. THIS AUTHORITY, purchased by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, gives us the RIGHT TO REIGN AND RULE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. With the words that Jane Hansen Hoyt spoke to the Aglow family at a leadership development session in 2006 before you (see below) , list up to 5 ways your team is taking authority in your community, area, and/or nation.

[ Jane’s words] Expansion is coming. Expect it. God is saying to Aglow, “Get ready, and in your getting ready, rise up from the place where you are. Stand and begin to walk the length of your land –your community, your region, your nation. Begin to take the land. Even as He spoke to Abraham, ‘Arise Abraham,’ it was a summons to arise, to begin to walk the land, to look at the land, and walk the length and breadth of it. WE ARE TO MOVE OUT IN OUR TOWNS AND VILLAGES AND BEGIN TO TAKE AUTHORITY AGGRESSIVELY in places where we see injustice and sin. We are to call things back into right alignment [i.e. into submission] with Heaven.’48

Restoring the kingdom however, is something that happens in a season only under the authority (exousia) of the Father. In the meantime the Twelve were given power and ability (dunamis) to be what? -witnesses, not rulers of the world; and their function was simply to testify to the life and finished work of the Messiah and proclaim salvation based on faith in His name. That is the commission which we are to continue.

And there’s more . . . As if all the problems already mentioned aren’t enough, some NAR leaders actually construe the purpose of the Atone-ment, not as the salvation of sinners but as the restoration of dominion. THE LAMB WAS SLAIN, making the ultimate sacri-fice, TO [i.e. in order to] ENABLE US TO DISCIPLE, OR INSTRUCT, THE NATIONS IN THESE SEVEN FOUN-DATIONS OF CULTURE. I don’t think that our local NAR-ites have yet gone this far (at least not openly), but there are troubling indicators of a possible shift in priorities. This manifests itself in concentration more on transforming society (another euphemism for “taking control” by the way), than on winning the lost, or seeing the transformation of society as a necessary precursor to winning the lost: look again at Ari Sorko-Ram’s words: ‘ . . . to impart, direct, cast vision, equip, and empower this next generation to penetrate all sectors of society in Israel - government, the arts and entertainment, education, politics, justice system, family, and religion. ONLY THEN, can all Israel be awakened to the Gospel!’50

This amounts to ‘Let’s take over the nation [or world aka ‘building the kingdom’] and then people will get saved.’ Earlier in this article I mentioned Empowered-21, because of the presence of high-profile Israeli figures on its Leadership Council. There are quite a few dominionists among its leader-ship, so dominion sentiments find a ready echo in its ministry material. Here’s an example from the 2015 Empowered 21 Global Gathering in Jerusalem: (11:44) “Why would Satan take the time, expend the energy to tempt Jesus with Kingdoms, with jurisdictions, with nations, with spheres, why would he take that time and energy…to tempt Jesus with kingdoms unless this was one of the things that Jesus was coming to redeem? Coming to ransom? (12:12) “I find it very interesting that in that moment Satan didn’t tempt Jesus with souls. Isn’t that interesting? He actually tempted Jesus with authority over spheres.51

(12:25) “Now I personally believe that within the bounds of contending for authority in spheres actually is souls.” “IF YOU GET HOLLYWOOD, GUESS WHAT? YOU GET THE PEOPLE THAT HOLLYWOOD INFLU-

ENCES. IF YOU GET RUSSIA, GUESS WHAT? YOU GET THE PEOPLE. So I believe it’s a both/and. It’s all in there together. And so he takes Him up to a high place and tempts Him with authority over nations.” (14:52) “Why would Satan take the time to tempt Jesus with something that Jesus didn’t come for and didn’t want? (15:54) “Here in Luke Chapter 4 the enemy is actually tempting Jesus with authority, with influence, over nations.” (21:50) “I wanted to sow this seed of revelation. [Here comes yet another one of those ‘fresh revelations’ that our apos-tles just can’t do without.] Because we have to know this in our hearts. THIS IS WHAT JESUS CAME FOR. He came for individuals, absolutely. He died for you, He died for me. Abso-lutely. But that’s not all He died for. He came to destroy the works of the devil and HE CAME TO TAKE BACK EVERY-THING THAT WAS LOST IN THE GARDEN, AND ACCORDING TO LUKE 4 ONE OF THE PRIMARY THINGS THAT WAS LOST WAS AUTHORITY OVER KINGDOMS…” (22:35) “…spilled His own blood to [i.e. in order to] take back what was lost in the Garden, and part of that was nations…” (23:09) ‘…part of the reward of Jesus’ suffering is nations…’ (23:20) ‘Maybe God has called you to TARGET GOV-ERNMENTS or…BUSINESS…or WHATEVER your sphere is. …you can stand with confidence that THIS IS PART OF WHAT JESUS SPILLED HIS BLOOD FOR…52

Disturbing Repercussions Aside from the fact that this is unbiblical nonsense that approaches or even crosses the line into blasphemy (I mean “Jesus spilt his blood, so that we could target governments and business” -really?) As you can see, the ‘take over first then people will get saved afterwards’ idea is a prominent theme; and if the dominion and societal transformation has to happen first, before revival and outpouring can happen, then the goal of taking control and transforming society will inevitably eclipse that of the salvation of the lost. But there’s more; clearly the false apostles’ pursuit of ecumenical unity with Roman Catholicism requires that Mary-worshipping practising Roman Catholics must somehow be embraced as brethren in the faith. To overcome this obstacle our false apostles promote a doctrine called the “narrow wider hope”, which teaches that explicit and conscious faith in Jesus as Saviour is no longer a prerequisite for salvation so even “good” religious people (orthodox Jews and practising Catholics for example) can enter heaven without bowing the knee in acknowl-edgement and faith that Christ and Christ alone (not our good works or Mary) can save us. As an offshoot of this, I have heard reports of one NAR leader over here even advocating for post-mortem faith based on a mishandling of 1Pt.3:19, -I wish I was joking, but sadly no.

For some time we have been recognising that our connected youth of today are more likely to watch a film than read an article, so recently one of our group, a local pastor who works with NARWatch and deals with its Hebrew blog, put out some of that collected information in video format in Hebrew, showing exactly some of the personalities, ministries and practices that our local apostles are connected to. The video, the first of its kind, really exposed the false apostles for what they are in Hebrew, and has sent shock waves round the Sabra believer community. Many of the rank and file in the Tikkun and Revive Israel networks have no idea of what their apostolic overlords actually believe and how far out of line it is with bibli-cal orthodoxy. Already in around 2 weeks it has had more than 2,100 views; this may not sound a lot, but given the tiny size of the believing Sabra community (Sabras, as yet represent only a small proportion of the total Body ((estimated to be about 15,000 in total) ) over here as opposed to Anglos and ex-pats), and the fact that the video is as yet unlisted, this counts as viral. English subtitles will made available and it should be released to a wider audience soon. Shan and Karen Outreaches God has brought the Burmese and Shan and Karen people to us. If we went to Myanmar, there would be many people missing, because they live in Thailand, working in construction and in the restaurant industry, etc. A few weeks ago, Jallay went with our new pastor to meet some Shan workers. Amazingly, these people were from the same village that Jallay comes from. The pastor and Jallay continue to share the gospel with them. Jallay has been active in picking people up for church, and also in starting a new class for a group of poor families, who live near the older sister of one of our Saturday/ Sunday children. He and his wife now teach this group who are thankful for the opportunity to learn. Jallay and I have also been going out to construction sites to share the gospel with workers there. And, just last week we met some young Karen men from Myanmar. Some of them identify themselves as Christians, some as Catholics, and some as Buddhists, but it is likely many of them are “cultural Christians.” We’ve gotten permission from their boss to have a Bible study with them once a week. This month is the beginning of the three month ordina-tion season for young men wanting to ordain as Buddhist monks. There will be a couple of holidays next week for this. We’re planning to go to a Myanmar and Shan temple to hand out tracts there and talk with people. A dead man can’t save us. We need a living Savior who has the right credentials and the right to our lives by virtue of being our Creator as well.

Women’s Prison We now have a new group of about 55 students at the Women’s Prison. Once again it’s a great opportunity to be able to share the gospel with a new group of students each week. Most have probably at least heard the name of Jesus before, but proba-bly have not had the gospel explained clearly to them, week by week like this. Truth does have a “ring” to it (the ring [sound] of truth). As we know, some people suppress the truth, and others are set free by the truth. We pray for these ladies to be born-again. Last week we did ask for a show of hands of who would like to give their lives to Jesus. About 15 ladies raised their hands and we prayed for them. We’ve also been given a new opportunity to teach the Bible for new prisoners who identify themselves as Christians. Since they have just broken the law, it’s doubtful how many of those are truly Christian, but it’s a great opportunity to share with them that they truly may be awakened/revived. If every church were truly revived and everyone who called themselves a Chris-tian really lived for Jesus what a difference it would make. Last week was our first opportunity to share with this group of about 30 ladies. Jallay shared a hard hitting message about being salt and light (as opposed to being the chicken in the pot receiving flavors from outside influence, we are supposed to be salt giving good flavor all around us). I shared a message about the “Almost Christian,” and how “almost” is not enough; as well as talking about the reliability of the Bible and how we should trust the Bible and read the Bible, not trust our own vain ideas.

Handicapped Center The four of us continue to go teach English and the Bible at a handicapped center for adults. We have a group of

about 40 students. One blind man especially is open to the gospel. We gave him an MP3 player with the New Testament in Thai, and he’s been with us to church twice now. Others also are very happy to come study with us and are open to hearing the gospel. Some are in wheelchairs, some have autism or other difficulties. One man said he was abandoned by his parents on a garbage pile, and then found by a monk who brought him to a government center. He seems very happy each time we come. We’ve now started bringing some worship songs in Thai, and let them listen to a chapter from the gospel of Luke after our regular lesson. “Made in China”: The History of Buddhism in the Middle Kingdom (Part V)

By Scott Murray Noble ([email protected]) This part of the series will take a look at Chinese Buddhism during the Ming and Qing dynasties (AD 1368-1911), with special emphasis on the role of Tibetan Buddhism. The Ming Dynasty lasted for 276 years and had sixteen emperors. The Qing Dynasty lasted for 268 years and had just nine emperors. Comparatively, the USA has not yet reached the age of either of those dynasties (being now 243 years old). Because of democratic rule, the USA has also had more rulers (45 presidents now).

Founder of the Ming Dynasty—The Red Turbans The founder of the Ming Dynasty was a former Buddhist monk, from a very poor background. His name was Zhu Yuanzhang, but his reign name was “Hongwu,” which means “Vast Military Power.” He was “the first commoner in fifteen centuries” to become emperor (Kerr, 77). Along with many other Chinese people at the time, dissatisfied with having Mongolians rule over them, he joined a Buddhist insur-gent group attempting to overthrow the Yuan Dynasty. “In 1352, he enlisted with one of the many rebel groups that had risen against the Mongols. His group was affiliated with the Red Turbans, a society created by followers of White Lotus, a Buddhist sect whose teachings partly derived from Man-ichaeism and that worshipped the ‘Unborn or Eternal Venera-ble Mother’ who, it was said, would gather all her children into one family at the millennium. It also predicted the imminent arrival of the future Buddha Maitreya…” (Kerr, 78). “…in the early fourteenth century, a collection of religious societies devoted to the Maitreyan vision rose in rebellion against the Mongol Yuan dynasty (1279–1368), and the leader of one of these groups, Zhu Yuanzhang (1328–1398), founded the Ming (meaning “bright,” an allusion to the Buddhist ideal of divine KINGSHIP, the vidyarajas; Chinese, ming wang) dynasty in 1368” (DuBois, 539). By the time of his death, Hongwu was not exactly a “monk.” He had thirty-eight concubines, which were assigned

to the flames when he died. “When he died in 1398, at the age of 70, Hongwu was laid to rest in a characteristically simple funeral although thirty-eight concubines were immolated with him as had been the custom of the Mongols who had preceded him” (Kerr, 82-83). Also, the Buddhist “emptiness” doctrine of Buddhism leaves people without an anchor for morality. Hongwu deeply sensed this moral vacuum, but tried in vain to purge his leaders. “By his own reckoning, Taizu [a.k.a. Hongwu] executed fifteen thousand military officers plus relatives and associates for their involvement in the plot [an assassination plot]” (Dardess, 63).

The Third Emperor Yongle—The Black Hats Yongle (a.k.a. Zhu Di), the Ming Dynasty’s third emperor was a multi-tasker with big ambitions. He oversaw and/or participated in five military expeditions to pursue the Mongols; had a twenty year war with Vietnam; commissioned seven sea voyages to remote parts of the world, for which 2000 ships were built; appointed scholars to assemble the Yongle Encyclopedia (11,095 volumes); as well as inaugurated the construction of the Ming Tombs, and the Forbidden City, which took one million people twelve years to build (Liu, 44-45; and Menzies, 3;10; and 14). Although the Yongle emperor commissioned an encyclopedia, he held a tight rein on what could or could not be said. In one censorship event, the Yongle emperor had thousands of people killed (Dardess, 102). In addition to the popular schools of Chinese Buddhism, such as Pure Land (involving recitation of the name of a savior Buddha) and Ch’an (which Zen in Japan is derived from), Tibetan Buddhism was also in favor. “…Ming government [AD 1368-1644] was always interested in main-taining good relations with the various Tibetan Buddhist sects, inviting the monks to visit China, and permitting as many as a thousand of them at a time to live in designated temples in Beijing” (Dardess, 11). In getting involved with Tibetan Buddhism, Yongle exposed himself to dakinis (which actually are deceiving/se-ducing and evil spirits). These dakinis were a leftover from Hinduism. In Hinduism, they carried the meaning of being “…a type of flesh-eating female deity that appears in the retinue of Kali” (Dalton, 192). Supposedly there were both good and bad dakinis. But, the line between good or bad was blurred, so that sometimes a “good” dakini could be harmful, and sometimes a bad dakini could be “helpful.” This really served to undermine moral absolutes. People were left to the whims and deceptions of evil spirits. “The Karma pas [of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism] are traditionally believed to be the custodians of a black crown fashioned from the hair of 100,000 DAKINI goddesses, invisible to all save those of great spiritual merit. In the early fifteenth century, the Ming emperor Yongle offered the fifth Karma pa a physical replica, which has since become one of the lineage’s most sacred relics, believed to confer liber-ation upon those who merely see it. For this reason, the Karma pas are sometimes called the Black Crowned (zhwa nag) and

have somewhat unwittingly received the title Black Hat Lama in the West. While they have occasionally been the target—and the source—of polemical sectarian attack, the Karma pas (like the Dalai Lamas) are traditionally understood by Tibetans to be emanations of the Bodhisattva of Compas-sion, Avalokitesvara” (Quintman, 417).

Zheng He’s Sea Voyages John W. Dardess of the University of Kansas, high-lights some of the landmark (seamark?) achievements during the Ming dynasty: “…the seven voyages to the ‘South Seas’ conducted by the Yunnanese Muslim eunuch Zheng He in the years 1405-1431…. Later voyages reached as far as Mecca, Somalia, and Kenya…. The voyages were set in motion by the fiat of the Yongle emperor, and they were terminated, due mainly to their high cost, at the command of another emperor, Yongle’s grandson, Xuande” (22). Bamber Gascoigne in “A Brief History of the Dynas-ties of China” likewise confirms these achievements of Zheng He and his fleets: “…great armadas of Chinese ships sailed south and west under the command of a eunuch admiral, Zheng He, reaching not only Ceylon and India but even the Persian Gulf and the coasts of Africa” (153-154). The sailing accomplishments listed by the previous two authors are commonly accepted by historians. Former British Naval Officer and Author Gavin Menzies, in his book “1434: The Year a Magnificent Chinese Fleet Sailed to Italy and Ignited the Renaissance,” has stockpiled evidence of a more controversial nature showing that it’s quite possible Zheng He’s voyages reached well beyond the above listed destinations.

Sorting Out Who’s Who on the Tibetan Religious Scene We’ve already seen that there were four major schools of Buddhism in Tibet-- Kadam, Sakya, Kagyu, and Nyingma. The Kadam school ceased to exist towards the end of the 16th century, but in the 15th century, the Geluk(pa) school began, which actually claims to come out of the Kadam school. The Sakya, Kagyu, and Nyingma schools are considered to be Red Hat Schools, while the Geluk is the Yellow Hat Schools, although the Kagyu is also called the Black Hat School.

11th to 13th Century Infighting “The different [Buddhist] schools [in Tibet] which came into being in the eleventh century began to construct huge monasteries which were in reality impregnable fortresses commanding control over certain areas, inhabited by monks who were ready to take up arms and fight if necessary…. Safely protected by the massive walls of the monasteries these dynas-ties waged wars against one another, and by the time the Mon-gols appeared on the scene at the beginning of the thirteenth century, the struggle had resulted in the survival of only three great monasteries” (Ch’en, 417).

later by Ligdan Khan and then the Manchurians, during the Qing Dynasty: “The Northern Yuan emperor, Ligdan Khan (r. 1605–1634), a devout Buddhist, patronized the Sa skya pa and supported a complete Mongolian translation of the Bka’’gyur (a project later emulated in a woodblock printed version by the Manchu Kangxi emperor, r. 1660-1723). In 1617 Ligdan was given a golden image of Mahakala that was said to have been made by ’Phags pa and used in Kublai’s campaigns against south China. Ligdan enshrined it at the center of his capital in Chahar. As he retreated west in the face of Manchu incursions in 1634, the Mahakala and all the powers that accompanied it fell into Manchu hands. In 1636 they took the image and installed it in the center of their ancestral capital, Mukden, later moving it to Beijing” (Berger, 563). The Ming Dynasty’s Yongle Emperor also had a guru from Tibet in the same line as Kublai Khan’s spiritual guru: “…the second Karma pa [of the Kagyu school], Karma Pakshi (1204-1283), is remembered especially for his prowess in meditation and the performance of magical feats. Patronized for a time by the Mongol emperor Kublai Khan (r. 1260-1294), he established ties with the Yuan court in China…. The fourth Karma pa, Rol pa’i rdo rje (Rolpe Dorje, 1340-1383), and the fifth Karma pa, De bzhin gshegs pa (Dezhin Shekpa, 1384-1415), continued to develop ties with the Chinese court-- the former with Toghun Temur and the latter serving as guru to the Ming dynasty emperor Yongle (r. 1402-1424), a position of great influence” (Quintman, 417-418).

A Mongolian-Made Institution—The Dalai Lama’s Position

“…Altan (the Golden) Khan (r.1543–1582)…. Follow-ing an initiation into Tibetan Buddhism presaged in a dream, in 1577 he arranged to meet the DGE LUGS (GELUK) lama Bsod nams rgya mtsho (1543–1588)…. the two exchanged titles: Bsod namsrgya mtsho recognized Altan as Kublai Khan’s incarnation, and Altan gave Bsod nams rgya mtsho a new title, Dalai (meaning “ocean” in Mongolian) Lama. Bsod nams rgya mtsho became the third in the DALAI LAMA lineage, with two of his predecessors posthumously named as the first and second. This exalted title and Mongol support gave the Dge lugs pa [Geluk school] an advantage in their ongoing struggles with the Bka’ brgyud pa [Kagyu School], who were advisers to the Tibetan kings, and the Sa skya pa [Sakya school]. The Mon-gols had once again become an essential component in the power structure of Tibetan Buddhism” (Berger, 562).

Tibetan Civil War Hollywood likes to portray Tibetan Buddhism as a religion of peace and tolerance. However, the history of this nation gives us a much different picture. For a time, the Mon-golians favored the Sakya sect of Tibetan Buddhism. This caused jealousy among the other sects and, “…for the rest of the thirteenth century the history of Tibet was characterized

1271-1368) stood with the Sakya school and the Kagyu school (not the Geluk school, which the Dalai Lama belongs to). Altan Khan (AD 1507-1582), who ruled Mongolia, during China’s Ming Dynasty, made the switch to support the Geluk school of Tibetan Buddhism, and Altan is the one who coined the term, the “Dalai Lama.” “…once the Mongols were initiated into the practices of Lamaism [Tibetan Buddhism], they began to adopt that aspect of Buddhism as their faith also, to take the place of their own Shamanism…. With Lamaism accepted as the national religion, lamas [monks] enjoyed a special position under the Mongols…. Enjoying such protection, inevitably the lamas became arrogant, haughty, and unreligious…” (Ch’en, 418-420). “Genghis’s son Ogodei (r. 1229-1241) established a Mongol empire that stretched from Korea (occupied in 1238) to present-day Poland and Hungary (1241). Ogodei’s second son, Gödan Khan, invaded Tibet several times and in 1244 brought three prominent Tibetan… [of the Sakya school] lamas as guests (or hostages) to his court [including ’Phags pa (1235-1280) who would become a chief advisor to Kublai Khan]…. Mongol rule over Tibet was formally achieved in 1252 by Ogodei’s nephew, Möngke (r. 1251-1259), whose guru was the… master, miracle worker, and eventual second KARMA PA [of the Kagyu school], Karma Pakshi (1204-1283)” (Berger, 561-562).

Foreshadowing The Anti-Christ Kublai Khan’s reign foreshadows aspects of the anti-Christ in that he ruled over the second largest geographi-cal empire in history (second only to the British Empire), and as political ruler, he worked hand in hand, like “sun and moon” with a religious leader (his Tibetan Buddhist advisor), like the future Anti-Christ and his false prophet will do. Kublai Khan also worshipped a demon idol, was recognized as a Buddhist savior, and was known for his religious tolerance (ecumenism): “Möngke’s successor and brother, Kublai Khan (Qubi-lai Khan, r. 1260-1294)…. Urged by his wife Chabi, Kublai allowed ’Phags pa to initiate him into the Hevajra Tantra on the promise that he would gain the intelligence and compas-sion of the great protector Mahakala [this is the same idol described by John Man as having a “black face, three staring eyes, a ferocious snarl, a head-dress of skulls set in yellow hair…” (Man, 193)]…. By naming ’Phags pa guoshi (national preceptor) and, ten years later, dishi (imperial preceptor), the two reigned side by side as ‘sun and moon’ in an ostensibly balanced yon mchod (patron-lama) relationship…. Kublai’s protection and patronage of the Tibetan Sa skya pa [Sakya school] signaled his auspicious status as a world-ruling Buddhist cakravartin (wheel-turning king), though he also encouraged an atmosphere of religious tolerance… Kublai was posthumously celebrated at the Juyongguan… where a multi-lingual inscription asserted his identity as ‘benevolent king’ and ‘Manjusri [a Buddhist savior]-emperor.’ (Berger, 562). Kublai Khan’s demon idol, the Mahakala, was used

by incessant sectarian strife” (Ch’en, 441). After a period of worldliness, a reformer of the Yellow Hat (Geluk) sect came onto the scene, restoring such things as celibacy and prohibi-tion of meat. The Bible specifically calls such prohibitions “doctrines of devils” (I Timothy 4:1-3). As the Geluk sect rose to prominence after the reforms, The Red Hat sects, especially the Kagyu and the Sakya, opposed the Yellow Hat Geluk sect, each side enlisting political supporters. “The next century and a half saw a verita-ble civil war between these two groups, which ended only in 1642…” (Dreyfus, 216).

Mongolian Dalai Lama As China’s Ming Dynasty was nearing its end, the drama continued between their northern (Mongolian), and southern (Tibetan) neighbors. Instead of favoring the Kagyu and Sakya sects, which they previously had, the Mongolians switched allegiance to the Yellow Hat Geluk(pa) sect. Using his influence (not over reincarnation, but politics) Altan Khan even had his grandson installed as the fourth Dalai Lama. The Geluk sect benefitted from this Mongolian alliance as well, using their military might to crush their Tibetan opponents. “Altan [Khan—AD 1507-1582] became eager to asso-ciate his regime with the Yellow Hat (Gelukpa) sect of Tibetan Buddhism, and Beijing was happy to assist with that, by providing him with Tibetan lamas [monks], holy scriptures, and translations of sacred texts from Tibetan into Mongolian” (Dardess, 16-17). “In 1588 the third Dalai Lama died en route to Mon-golia. Altan Khan, sensing a brilliant opportunity, pushed to have his own great-grandson recognized as the fourth Dalai Lama [the only Mongolian Dalai Lama in history], who was named Yon tan rgya mtsho (1589–1617)” (Berger, 563). In 1641, the Mongols, “…under Gusri Khan, were invited to intervene in Tibet by the fifth Dalai-lama…. In the ensuing campaign the Tibetan armies were disastrously defeat-ed…and in the next year the Yellow Sect [Geluk] was trium-phantly installed in Lhasa” (Ch’en, 443). In the following century, the Mongolians again came to use their “might” to decide what was “right,” still in support of the Geluk sect: “…in 1717 the Mongolian Dzungars, them-selves dogmatic supporters of the Dalai Lama’s own Dge lugs school [Geluk], invaded central Tibet. During their short time there, the Dzungars looted the new Rnying ma [Nyingma] monasteries of Rdo rje brag and Smin grol gling, executing the head lamas” (Dalton, 730).

The Qing Dynasty (AD 1644-1911) “Like the Mongols before them, they [the Manchus of the Qing Dynasty] favored this brand of Buddhism [Tibetan Buddhism], which they felt was closer to the Shamanism they believed” (Ch’en, 450). “The Qing emperors, following the Mongols’ prece-dent, were recognized by the fifth Dalai Lama as emanations of Manjusri. They maintained close diplomatic relations with the great lamas of Tibet and Mongolia. During the eighteenth

and nineteenth centuries, hundreds of Mongolian lamas flood-ed into the Qing capital at Beijing…. The lineage that forged the closest ties to the Qing emperors was that of the Lcang skya Khutukhtus [lamas who were of the Geluk school], who were granted primacy over the Dge lugs pa Buddhists [also of the Geluk school] of Inner Mongolia. Particularly effective was the third incarnation, Rol pa’i rdo rje (1719–1786)... [Rol pa’i rdo rje, was] raised with Yongzheng’s eventual heir, Hongli, who reigned as the Qianlong emperor (r. 1736–1795). Qianlong’s reign marks the height of Mongolian and Tibetan Buddhist prestige and power at the Qing court (Berger, 563). Charles Lachman records that, “In the Qing dynasty, the Qianlong emperor (r. 1736–1795) had himself portrayed on multiple occasions as the Bodhisattva Manjusri, enshrined at the center of a complex Mandala…” (63) “…the White Lotus Society, loosely connected with the T'ien-t'ai school-actually staged insurrections against the Mongol and Manchu rulers. The White Lotus rebellion atthe end of the eighteenth century (1796-1804) took the ruling Manchus 10 years to suppress. A few notorious temples, such as the center at Shao-lin, trained monks in the martial arts, but the Sangha as a whole remained aloof from such affairs” (Rob-inson and Johnson, 211).

The Panchen Lamas From the 17th century “…comes the theory of the Dalai Lamas as emanations of Avalokitesvara, here conceived as the Bodhisattva of compassion, and Panchen Lamas as emanations of Amittabha” (Sparham, 193). In Pure Land mythology, Avalokitesvara is supposed to be the servant or chief minister of Amittabha. Neither of these characters is a historical person. They are invented deities, lacking historical credentials. In Tibetan history the Panchen Lamas and the Dalai Lamas, who are supposed to represent these “deities” have not always stayed “in character” in the ways they behaved towards one another: During the Qing Dynasty when the Manchus ruled, China, “…comes the schism between the Dalai and Panchen Lamas, as the Manchus exploited the traditional rivalry between central Tibet and western Gtsang to counterbalance the power of the Dge lugs pa sect [Geluk]. The Manchus backed the Gtsang-based Panchen Lamas strongly” (Sparham, 194). An example of this schism is the relationship between the 13th Dalai Lama and the 9th Panchen Lama: “…the Dalai Lama attempted to tax the Panchen Lama’s estates to help pay for a new modern army. The Panchen Lama’s retainers saw this as a veiled attack on the institution of the Panchen Lama, and this in turn led the Dalai Lama’s government to accuse the Panchen Lama of treason. The ninth Panchen Lama then fled to China where he remained until his death” (Sparham, 629). In 1959, “…the [Chinese] government initiated its campaign against the Dalai Lama and the Tibetans, and once it did so, then all the members of the Chinese Buddhist Associ-ation had to denounce the Dalai Lama and his supporters as reactionaries, and to switch their allegiance to the Panchen

Lama who had the support of the government” (Ch’en, 469). To complicate things further, when the 10th Panchen Lama died under suspicious circumstances in 1989, the com-munist Chinese government refused to acknowledge the Dalai Lama’s choice of the 11th Panchen Lama, kidnapping that 6 year old boy, and installing their own Panchen Lama in his place. The boy who was the Dalai Lama’s choice is still being held captive at an undisclosed location according to the Chinese government (https://freetibet.org/free-panchen-la-ma). As of July 6th, 2019 the 14th Dalai Lama became 84 years old. What tricks will be pulled out of sleeves to find his replacement? Standards have been set in place to determine who is the next reincarnation, such as a child recognizing former belonging when placed alongside similar items, etc. From a Christian perspective, there is no reincarnation, but there are deceiving spirits which could pass along information to a child, making it appear as though the child has special knowledge only the Dalai Lama could have known. And, as the child is initiated into Tibetan Buddhism with all of its demon idols, spirit possession is another reality that furthers the deception.

Iranian, Tibetan, Chinese, and Japanese Overlap From its inception Buddhism took aboard many of the Hindu deities, which can be seen in the Pali Canon. Later on others were incorporated: “During the Gupta period (fourth to sixth centuries [AD]) in India Mahayana Buddhism began to take over many of the Hindu deities into its pantheon in an effort to gain adherents among the populace” (Ch’en, 399). So, it is not surprising to learn that Buddhism may also have reconstructed Iranian deities to complete its pantheon: “There are some reasons to believe that the sun-wor-ship of the Zoroastrians had influenced Mahayana Buddhism…. Some scholars suggest a connection between the Pure Land triad of Amitabha [Amida in Japanese], Avalokites-vara (representing light), Mahasthama (representing force) and an Iranian trinity, in which Zurvan is the supreme deity, Mithras the luminous element, and Vrthragna, force and wisdom. As further support of this line of reasoning, it is pointed out that these ideas in Buddhism developed not in India proper but in those areas in northwest India and beyond where the Kushan Dynasty was dominant and where Iranian influences were uppermost. Moreover, the first monk to introduce and translate a Pure Land Sutra in China was An Shih-kao [a.k.a. An Shigao who came to China in AD 148], a Parthian; he was followed by other monks from Central Asia, chih Ch’ien, whose ancestors were from the Yueh-chih (Scyth-ia), and K’and Seng-hui, a Sogdian” (Ch’en, 15-16). Even before Buddhism came to China, China and Persia (modern day Iran) had a trade agreement: “In 115 B.C., Mithridates II of Persia made a commercial treaty with the Han emperor Wu Ti. In the next century, Julius Caesar possessed silk curtains. By the reign of Augustus, wealthy people were buried in Chinese silk” (Menzies, 197). From the picture given in Pure Land sutras, "On

either side of him [Amida] are his chief bodhisattvas, the great-ly compassionate Avalokitesvara [Kannon] and the greatly powerful Mahasthamaprapta..." (Corless, 253). This is the triad that is foreign to Hinayana Buddhism, that is thought to have been adapted from Persia.

Two Common Denominators Two of these so called deities from that triad, which are hugely popular in both Tibet, Japan, and China, are Ami-tabha and Avalokitesvara. In Japan they are known as “Amida” and “Kannon.” In Tibet they are represented by the Dalai Lama and the Panchen Lama. In China, they are known as “A-mi-t'o” and “Kuan-yin.” Although the theologies of Tibet, China, and Japan are very different (with big differences even within each country), each country has their own spin(s) on these two deities, incor-porating them into the most popular forms of Buddhism in their respective countries. These “deities,” however are based on mere hagiography of inventive authors. They are not based on any real history. Read the following, keeping in mind that the Lotus Sutra was composed around AD 200: “Avalokitesvara first appears as a mere name in the lists at the beginning of the Virnalakirti, and later, the Lotus Sutra. His first significant role is in the Sukhavati-vyuha Sutra, where he and Mahasthamaprapta are Amitabha Buddha's chief attendants” (Robinson and Johnson, 107). Also, as referenced before, Robinson and Johnson state, "...Maitreya, Manjusri, and Avalokitesvara... These great beings are nonhistorical; there is no evidence that any of them is an apotheosis of a human hero...Strangely, no Sutra preaches devotion to a celestial bodhisattva until the third century C.E...." (105).

Comic book Credibility This very popular Lotus Sutra is supposed to be one of the last sermons preached by the historical Buddha, but it was composed around AD 200—not very impressive historical credentials, especially when it hagiographically introduces and embellishes previously unknown characters. These two figures (Amitabha and Avalokitesvara ) upon which most of the popular Buddhism in Tibet, Japan, and China are based, are inventions of creative authors—like a Marvel Comic series! Or, they may actually be adaptations from the Iranian Zoroas-trian religion. Either way, they are not worthy of our eternal affections. Idols are tiny. The sun itself is tiny compared to God our Creator, who is larger than the universe. His name is Jesus Christ. And, He alone is worthy of our worship and thanksgiving. He loves us and wants us to repent of our sins and be reconciled to Him. The Buddha himself, although historical, was only a man, and is now a dead man at that. A dead man cannot help us. Maybe that was the reason for the Mahayana Buddhists to invent larger than life “deities/saviors,” but these have no more historical credibility than the superheroes in a DC comic book do! The Bible makes great claims about God’s Almighty char-acter and love, too, but unlike the late Buddhist scriptures, has

historical evidence of fulfilled prophecies and for the reality of Jesus’ amazing life to confirm this.

Revival of the True Gospel in the West During the Ming Dynasty (AD 1368-1644): Looking at the history of Bible-based preachers in the West, the Ming Dynasty roughly overlapped with the era between John Wycliffe (c. AD 1320s –1384), translator of the Bible into English from the Latin; to John Bunyan (AD 1628-1688), author of Pilgrim’s Progress and faithful preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ, in spite of being imprisoned for it. In the middle of that era was William Tyndale (AD 1494-1536), who translated the New Testament into a very readable version for even “ploughboys,” to understand the Bible easily, but who was burned at the stake for his efforts. During the Qing Dynasty (AD 1644-1911): In large part, John Wesley (AD 1703-1791), under God’s holy direction was responsible for the revival of the church in England in the 18th century. Thereafter Protestant missions resumed in earnest with William Carey (AD 1761-1834) to India, Adoni-ram and Ann Judson (AD 1788-1850) to Burma, David Living-stone (AD 1813-1873) to Africa, Mary Slessor (AD 1848-1915) to Nigeria, and C.T. Studd (AD 1860-1931) to China and Africa, among many others.

Jude’s background history, outline & occasion Ever since I listened to the Bible teacher Campbell McCalpine exegete this epistle many years ago, I have been fascinated by its place in the canon of scripture. Here it exists as 25 verses of unadulterated controversy in text and reputation. Indeed 25 verses instilled with a message capable of refuting the errors of the day and now 2000 years later its text is as certain and relevant as the day ink was placed on papyrus. The message is not unique for its time. For in Jude’s day, as it was later at the time of the great Apostle John and earlier as Peter wrote his epistles, certain men had crept into the church with their gnostic teachings that led the flock of Christ astray. Gnostics whose visions and dreams had the effect of unsettling the faithful who merely relied on prayer, fellow-ship and the Word of God for direction. Their lifestyle and lewd practices put the body of Christ to shame. Sound familiar? That is why Jude speaks boldly across the years, for within its short text we indeed look into a looking glass and see in its content a reflection of the church of the 21st century. But Jude was not only a watchman of his day. I believe he was a man infused with a pastor’s heart. Not only does he warn the flock, he takes time to help the flock discern the right course of action. Jude has inspired me along this path. I pray that these pages may give some understanding to those who seek an answer for some of today’s hard questions now being asked within the body of Christ by those who discern that all is not right within the church of Christ.

Background Jude v3 says this, “I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints”. I had a conversation with a contact from Reachout Trust some time ago. Reachout Trust is a fine organization who witness to those caught in the Occult and New Age. A ministry I have been associated with for many years. He said to me, “It’s amazing how a man can fill an auditorium with thou-sands of Christians if he puts on a show”. “Christians want to chase the latest fad, whether its Toronto, Restoration, Celtic Spirituality or some money charlatan, they will go in droves. But when we put on training seminars to help Christians contend for the faith against the opening of the New Mormon temple, only 200 people turned up in total over the four days,” he said. Jude appealed to the church to “Contend earnestly for the faith”. It’s the key verse in this lovely little epistle, and its message to the church to contend for the faith is as valid today as it was then. If you don’t believe me see the evidence for yourself. Look at the churches chasing the experi-ence. Look at the march for Jesus walking through cities claiming the buildings in dominialist triumphal fervor while a quarter to half a million Mormons visited Britain for the temple opening, while mosques are being built on an unprecedented level, while Hindu temples are constructed often within abandoned Christian church-es. It’s a joke. The church appears in tatters. Its apathetic and I could say a lot more negative things, however, it’s what we have. We must come to terms with the fact that unless the body of Christ is

Winter at the mission is well under way and this year we are a little bit better prepared with the addition of a wood stove in our small cottage. It really brightens things up on these chilly nights. Winter is also slumber time for our plants but also a time of preparation for spring planting. Tombi has a novel way of doing this by creating seed tissue for laying in trenches. Basically it's a toilet roll with seeds glued on with flour and water. When dried they are rolled up again ready for rolling out into trenches and covered over. This year we are surrounded by Canola that seems to have sprouted early and with our cows seemingly pregnant the place looks beautiful under the majestic Langeberg mountains.

Winter is also culling time for our pork supply as we prepare roasts and sausage for the next few months. Health wise the guys are buoyant. Viral loads remain down and CD4’s at a healthy level. We are now part of the farm HIV clinic route so once a month the nurses come to us to deliver Arcs and check on any health issues. Farm security remains a concern. We have joined with local farmers and put in place an SOS system in case of attacks. The need is obvious to the community but often goes unreported in the press. Terror is on the increase and the government is placing laws that press the minorities. We had an incident next door recently where a guy from Zimbabwe was apprehended in the early hours. So please pray.

Our own health is mixed. Lyn plods on although a bit more slowly and I have quite a few issues that prevent me walking far and reading. In fact through my inability to study intensely I have not preached in over a year. As my friend says getting older is not for sissies. We do realise that in the flesh our time in missions is coming to an end and it is Kurdish over the next few years to hand over the reigns to younger healthier people. In the meantime we 34

turned around in some way and is somehow revived with a new reformation, it will continue to experience defeat upon defeat. It’s that simple. Jude’s message was a timely message in its era and it is also atimely message for today. It wasn’t a popular message. One author calls Jude the Jeremiah of the New Testament and today if we are to honestly declare the condition of the church in an effort to bring it to its knees in repentance, you and I must be prepared to be dealt with by our own brothers and sisters in Christ in the same manner as Jeremiah was. The good news is that this lovely epistle will help us come to terms with this and as an introduction to this epistle we will put into place a foundation that will help us under-stand what Jude has to say. So to begin with let us look at the following three areas in this first chapter 1. We will look at the history and outline of the epistle. 2. The reasons why Jude wrote the epistle. 3. We will look at Jude the man and his character. Let’s begin by reading the whole letter. The Epistle of Jude “Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ: 2 Mercy unto you and peace and love be multiplied. 3 Beloved, while I was giving all diligence to write unto you of our common salvation, I was constrained to write unto you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in privily, even they who were of old written of beforehand unto this condemna-tion, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. 5 Now I desire to put you in remem-brance, though ye know all things once for all, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Eg ypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6 And angels that kept not their own principality, but left their proper habitation, he hath kept in everlasting bonds under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them, having in like manner with these given themselves over to fornication and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire. 8 Yet in like manner these also in their dreamings defile the flesh, and set at nought dominion, and rail at dignities. 9 But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing judgment, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. 10 But these rail at whatso-ever things they know not: and what they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason, in these things are they destroyed. 11 Woe unto them! For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah. 12 These are they who are hidden rocks in your love-feasts when they feast with you, shepherds that without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds, autumn leaves without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved forever. 14 And to these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15 to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have ungodly wrought, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speaketh great swelling words), showing respect of persons for the sake of advantage. 17 But ye, beloved, remember ye the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18 That they said to you, In the last time there shall be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts. 19 These are they who make separations, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And on some have mercy, who are in doubt; 23 and some save, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. 24 Now unto him that is able to guard you from stumbling, and to set you before the presence of his glory without

blemish in exceeding joy, 25 to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and power, before all time, and now, and for evermore. Amen.”

History and Outline Jude, as an epistle, has had a very chequered history. First it was accepted into canon of scripture. Then it was objected too. Then accepted back into canon by the 4th century. Then some of the reformers objected to it before it became generally accepted. Yet in its early history the church fathers certainly attested to it. Turtul-lian, Clement of Alexandra, Origen, Polycarp, Athenagoras, all quote freely from Jude. It was even included in the Second Century Muratorian Canon. So why if it was accepted generally early did people such as the Mancian “Augustine” and the great preacher Crysostem object? It was primarily because of Jude’s referral to Jewish Apocryphal literature. Literature which Augustine and Crysostem called “blasphemous fables”. In fact two things happened within the church because of Jude’s use of Apocryphal literature. 1) The books Jude alluded to, in this case “The assump-tion of Moses” in verse 9 and 1 Enoch in verses 6, 8 & 15. Some make a case for the referral of “The Testament of Naphtali” in verse 6 and “The Testament of Asher” in verse 8 instead of “1 Enoch” . These books, because of Jude’s approval, were taken as authoritative. 2) Later when others called Apocryphal material “blasphemous fables” Jude was placed under suspicion and his letter rejected. So who is right? Do we accept or reject a biblical author because of his use of extra-biblical material? Well if a work is to be rejected because of the referral to extra canonical material, we would have to throw out great chunks of the New Testament. The author of Hebrews echoes the words of Philo and quotes from Apocryphal material. Galatians 3:19, Acts 7:22, James 5:17 all allude to Apocryphal material. Paul himself also uses heathen poets, Acts 17:28; 1 Corinthians 15:32-33; Titus 1:12. So what do we do? Do we throw out Paul’s letters or James’? Of course not because its obvious that when Apocryphal material is quoted, 1. It is a well-known piece to the reader of the day. 2. It doesn’t contradict scripture. 3. And finally it makes a valid biblical point. So we accept Galatians, so we accept Hebrews and Titus, and following the same line of argument, we accept Jude. Another interesting point concerning Jude is its relation to the second chapter of 2 Peter. As we look at the text from verse to verse we will be making an ongo-ing comparison. Lets read 2 Peter together. 2 Peter chapter 2 “But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their lascivious doings; by reason of whom the way of the truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And in covetous-ness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose sentence now from of old lingereth not, and their destruction slumbereth not. 4 For if God spared not angels when they sinned, but cast them down to hell, and committed them to pits of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5 and spared not the ancient world, but preserved Noah with seven others, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, having made them an example unto those that should live ungodly; 7 and delivered righteous Lot, sore distressed by the lascivious life of the wicked 8 ( for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their lawless deeds): 9 the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punish-ment unto the day of judgment; 10 but chiefly them that walk after the flesh in

the lust of defilement, and despise dominion. Daring, selfwilled, they tremble not to rail at dignities: 11 whereas angels, though greater in might and power, bring not a railing judgment against them before the Lord. 12 But these, as creatures without reason, born mere animals to be taken and destroyed, railing in matters whereof they are ignorant, shall in their destroying surely be destroyed, 13 suffering wrong as the hire of wrong-doing; men that count it pleasure to revel in the day-time, spots and blemishes, revelling in their deceivings while they feast with you; 14 having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; enticing unstedfast souls; having a heart exercised in covetousness; children of cursing; 15 forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the hire of wrong-doing; 16 but he was rebuked for his own transgression: a dumb ass spake with man’s voice and stayed the madness of the prophet. 17 These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved. 18 For, uttering great swelling words of vanity, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by lasciviousness, those who are just escaping from them that live in error; 19 promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he also brought into bondage. 20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first. 21 For it were better for them not to have known the wayof righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 It has happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire.” In the 25 verses of Jude, 15 appear in whole or part in second Peter. It appears that one may be drawing upon the other as a source of reference or they are both drawing from a similar source. But there may be another possibility. If we look at the language of 2 Peter you will see that the author writes concerning the future. Peter is saying these things will come to pass. Yet Jude writes of present dangers. For Jude they are already happening. The problems are in the here and now. So it could be argued that what we see is 2 Peter writing prophetically concerning the future dangers and Jude writing about its practical fulfillment in the present tense. The letter, in its structure, is the most Jewish of all the epistles. In fact the genre we see here is an example of Heavy Midrash or Rabbinic exegesis, written in an Aramaic style of triple arrangements. Over the following chapters we will be using these Aramaic triple arrangements to guide us through what Jude has to say. Let’s briefly look at the epistles outline.

Outline A) Introduction v1-2 B) The Occasion for writing – Apos-tasy v3-4 C) Examples of Apostasy of Israel v5 of Angelic Beings v6 of Sodom & Gomorrah v7 D) False Leaders v8-13 E) Judgement of the Wicked v14-19 F) The encouragement of True Believers-Edi-fication to pray in the Holy Spirit v20 Presentation in the love and mercy of God v21 Exhortation to soul winning v22-23 G) Doxolo-gy v24-25 So why then was this letter written? It doesn’t take a genius to work out that Jude was writing to those who had been infiltrated by false teachers, or gnostics as we refer to them. I will also be dealing with the subject more specifically later on in this book. It was also obvious that Jude was going to say something completely different in his letter by his remark in v3, “Beloved while I was making every effort to write to you about our common salvation, I felt it necessary to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith”. So Jude wanted to write concerning aspects of salva-tion when suddenly he hears of heresy in the church. It shows the immense seriousness of the matter when he puts everything he was

going to say to one side and deals immediately with the situation. Many things have been written recently concerning Toronto, resto-ration and other wacky belief systems that promote a false anoint-ing. But what kind of criticisms have we received from Christians and even some respected church leaders? “Don’t Judge”. “Let these things alone, if they’re from God, they’ll stay, if they’re not, they will go away.” What does Jude say, as he puts his shepherd’s staff to one side? “I appeal (Apagonizomai, which literally means ‘I beg’ in Greek) Contend earnestly for the faith We cannot sit back on such issues of great importance. Look at the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Scientologists, Islam, and Mormons. They’re not from God. Their teachings are heretical. Have they gone away? No, of course not. In fact while the church waits and doesn’t judge these things, these cults and isms grow. So in the occasion for Jude’s epistle we find a swift reminder that the church, the shepherd, and the Christian are to contend earnestly for the faith against the wolves that would deceive it.

Jude the man So what of the writer Jude? What can we say about him personally? Verse one says “Jude a Bond Servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James”. Jude is a Jewish letter. As I said it is a clear exam-ple of Rabbinic exegesis but the letter in fact goes against Jewish convention in that when you introduce yourself to your readers you do so by mentioning your Father’s name. For example, I would be called David Ben Baden or David son of Baden. But instead, Jude uses his brother’s name James. Why does he do this? It’s because Jude’s readers would have known James more than his father or himself. James, as we know, was the half brother of Jesus so we see that Jude himself was also a half brother of the Lord. So why not mention Him? Jude bore no title. He wasn’t an apostle. He wasn’t a great leader like his brother James. Why not “Jude brother of Yeshua”? In fact Jude distances the relationship and he says “Jude a bond servant of Jesus”. In other words, “Jude a slave of Yeshua”. It’s very rare today that we see an attitude similar to that of Jude even with ourselves. Some years ago on our letterhead we had a board of reference with such people as Jacob Prasch. You see we want to be seen as respectable, having certain attributes, being in relation to someone with authority. Jude does this with his brother but I can guarantee if you or I were the half brother of Jesus, whose name would be on the board of reference? “ Jude a slave of Yeshua”. Why this? Was it out of coyness? After all in John 7:5, Jude didn’t believe in Jesus’ claims of messiahship as did his other brothers until Acts 1:14. So maybe there was embarrassment at referring to Jesus in this way due to his earlier unbelief. Maybe there’s another reason. Maybe that reason was genuine humility. Maybe when Jude and his brothers gathered with their mother Mary and the apostles, perhaps as they dwelt on His life, death, resurrection and ascension, maybe as he realized that the elder brother whom he would have played with as a child was God made flesh, then perhaps, he felt humility. Jude a slave of Yeshua hamashiach. How humble. How wonderful. Is it not enough that we should be His servants? What a lesson we have to learn today as we see some of the church leaders almost deified before our eyes. You’ve seen the posters, Men of Power – Men of destiny – Holy Ghost Bartenders and yet compare these with the humility in the introductory name “Jude a bond servant of Jesus Christ”. Is this not enough? Is He not our Master? Never mind the titles, never mind the Reverends or Right Honour-ables or venerable. I’m happy as David Royle, bondservant of Jesus Christ. How about you? Can you place your name in that position as a slave to Christ?

Eyes On Canada: A Perspective From Canada The excitement regarding the upcoming Moriel Ministries Conference is gaining momentum. This is not surprising as the government follows the path of globalization. One needs only to look at Genesis 11:1-9 to see the danger of this movement. In order for globalization to come about, there must be the destruction of the morals and the beliefs upon which the country has been built. In Canada’s case this is the Christian mindset and values. We are seeing the fruits of seeds planted long ago. One of these seeds is the seed of being sorry for wrongs, not that we have done but done in the past by our forefathers. This is the enemy attacking the mind. It is this “sorry attitude” that has opened the door for accepting of the putting aside of the very values that built our country. Sorry for the wrongs committed in the past against everyone and anyone. Sorry today for calling sin, SIN. This is why the church, once the bastion of of morality based on the Scripture, is changing its stance on fidelity, marriage, lying, homosexuality, and many other things. The church is sorry for not being “all-inclusive”. This is the new mentality throughout Canada. We must be all inclusive. It has reached the point of absurdity. Just this week the gay pride organization has banned UBC from participating in their celebra-tion because the university allowed someone with a different view than theirs to speak on campus. So we see that all-inclusive means only of one idea. It amazes me how rational people do not see this hypocrisy. There is only one answer. Romans 1:18-32. Out of this mess, God is calling out the Church of Jesus Christ. Keep in mind, Jesus is building His Church from within the church and without the established church. It is to this remnant that I believe the Lord is blessing the ministry of Moriel. There is one home church with which I am in contact with whose services involve the teaching ministry of Moriel. I have had many more people approach Moriel to see how we can help and support them to begin a home church as they are finding that there is no church in their area staying true to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is heavy on my heart as the are sheep without pasture and fellowship. May God provide the fellowship of believ-ers and pasture for these people. Please pray for the Lord’s direction in this matter. Even some of the people choosing to stay in a church, which they say is slipping into apostasy, are inquiring for “right teaching”. Please pray that these people will have the courage to leave when the Lord convicts them to do so. I believe that the Lord has positioned Moriel for His purposes in Canada. I believe that one of the purposes is to grow people into mature christians. ( Hebrews 5:11- 6:3 ). May the Lord continue to lead and bless in this endeavour.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Every summer while vacationing with the students we brought some of our young children to attend a Christian Summer Camp to have them experience the activities at the Camp and have fellowship with other Christians. It was the third week of April and I was assigned for two lessons to teach the young people and adults while Sis Annabel and my wife teach one session for the kids. Our young children participated in presenting their praise song for the Lord and my grandson JC, a beginner in playing keyboard does his best with his group. On the last day of camp we took the children to nearby beach. The following month, it was May. We bought school supplies and school uniforms in prepara-tion for Moriel Give a Gift. We distributed school supplies and school uniforms this end of May for the children to be ready on the opening of the school year class this early June. The rainy season is coming again. We will be ready to buy umbrellas and raincoats for the children. Regarding the building project, we are now in the process of accumulating needed papers in applying the electric power source meter and water supply meter.
