Introduction

Clever Acoustics wide range of 100V and low impedance products have been designed to offer the installer a comprehensive audio solution, with options for both indoor and outdoor installations. The products provide cost effective solutions without compromise on quality or intelligibility.The whole product portfolio has been designed to be installed with minimum fuss and simple touches including cut out templates for the ceiling loudspeaker ranges (Pages 2-5), or Quick-Fixx® fast fit installation brackets featured on the BGS-20T Series (Page 7).When designing the range of mixer amplifiers our engineers have taken into account that not all amplifiers are tucked away in rack cabinets, with this in mind the MA Series Mixer Amplifiers (Pages 21-27) and SL Series Slave Amplifiers (Pages 32-33) all feature heavy gauge brushed aluminium, black anodised front panels, maximising quality and aesthetics. See below for some examples of applications where the Clever Acoustics products have been extensively utilised.

Generally used for conferences, dance studios, theatre, live music and mobile discos.Typically the amplifier’s output ranges from between 300W to 1000W with two 8Ω loudspeaker cabinets connected. The wattage of the loudspeaker cabinets ideally matches the output of the amplifier, and great care is taken to ensure that the impedance and wattages are compatible. The sound appears to come from a single point in the room, for example the stage.

Similar applications to the simple low impedance systems, but typically the amplifier’s output ranges from between 300W to 2500W with four 8Ω loudspeaker cabinets connected.

A simple 100V system ideal for single zone applications such as offices or reception areas. By substituting the CS 69LC ceiling loudspeakers for four HS 715 horn loudspeakers the system could be used for outdoor spaces including garage forecourts or goods yards.

Often within installations across large sites the client will require the ability to adjust the volume, or even switch off the loudspeakers within their area. To facilitate this, the installer may supply one of the Clever Acoustics volume controls (page 37). The volume control should be selected based on the total wattage of the loudspeakers to be connected.The diagram details a single zone system with varying types of loudspeaker set to different power tappings, in addition the diagram also shows a number of loudspeakers connected via a volume control. The total wattage of each loudspeaker within the installation should be added together, this can then be used to select the correct amplifier for the installation. The amplifier should have a 10% higher output than the total wattage tappings of directly powered loudspeakers plus the total wattage of attenuators.

Slave amplifiers are often used for augmenting existing systems where a previous installation must be extended to cover a new area or building. Slave amplifiers can also be used to power secondary zones allowing the client to tailor the volume the second zone independent of the main zone connected to the mixer amplifier.
