FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESKWe are in the post modern era where science and technology have become the corner stones onwhich the edifice of society rests. The advances in communication have put us on the informationsuper highway and the nations which are slow to change are bound to lag behind in progress andprosperity. Engineering education is a key to this change in the post globalization era can becomeeffective only if it is wedded to the technological advances. Internet is one such dimension ofknowledge and information. Preparing institutions of high education to meet the new challengesbrought on by globalization should be the prime concern of the policy makers.

Regency Institute of Technology (RIT) is aimed to equip the students challenges to face the societywith the latest technology. The institutions of higher education will be better off if they prepare intime to use technology for reopening as well as multiplying the learning opportunities for the students. This can be done in a better way if we keep in mind quality while meeting the basic criteria of affordability, accessibility and equality. In this situation RIT has taken the first proverbial steps tobring the students face to face with the facts and information and also introduce them to the vastfrontiers of knowledge.

The college is focused on its vision and the strategies for carrying it out for the socio-economicdevelopment in general and Technical Education to the rural area students in particular. The Collegeis governed by a Governing Body comprised of distinguished members from the fields of Education,Business, Industry and the Community.

A College whether at home or abroad, provides an opportunity to a student to broaden his intellectualand Social horizons but an international exposure in education certainly widens such horizons.Ability to live and work in a global community and to contribute to it in a meaningful way, certainlydepends on one’s knowledge, attitude and experience with others, their customers, their goals etc.RIT with its hostel and campus facilities provides the home ambience to the students who are awayfrom home in pursuit of a quality technical degree.

The Quality of any higher educational Institution is best measured by the quality of its products, theGraduates. At RIT we pride ourselves on the excellence and achievements of our Graduates. Aninstitution is best identified by the strength of its Alumni. The Alumni of RIT is extremely wellplaced and spread, not only in the country but the countries abroad..

Regency Institute of TechnologyPREFACE

In spite of the fact that India produces large number of Engineers every year, the quality of engineeringeducation most often fails on account of several reasons, to meet the industrial needs. The industrialorganizations often complain about the lack of quality engineers for their industries. The futuresuccess of Indian industry depends on the growth of quality engineering education in India, especiallysince Indian industry is competing globally in software and in areas such as automobiles, chemicalsand engineering equipment.

Regency Institute of Technology, Yanam addresses this challenge by offering an engineering curriculumthat carves human resources and caters to the needs of the market. Our program prepares studentsto be effective leaders by emphasizing on conceptual, analytical, technical and behavioral skills.
