This document provides descriptive information about new features, functions, and capabilities that have been included in PegaRULES Process Commander Release Version 5.5.

It also provides information about issues that were resolved since the release of PegaRULES Process Commander and service packs for versions 5.3 and 5.4 that are considered to be of most interest to the developer and user community.

What’s new in 5.5 — Composite Portals and Smart Layouts Version 5.5 introduces Composite Portals and Smart Layouts to provide developers with capabilities that offer easier customization and new controls that improve the appearance and navigation of the user portal and work forms.

Composite Portals

Composite portals for application users are based on familiar harness and section rules rather than customized gadgets. This capability allows developers greater flexibility in presentation and function than the traditional portals included in earlier releases.

■ Panel Sets can be used to define the flexible structure of a harness rule that contains multiple individual panels defined as section layouts

■ Sample composite portals for Users and Managers are shipped as working examples that reference sample composite section rules and gadgets to help you create new portals and promote reusability

■ Panels can be branded by the Application Skin Wizard

■ Portals support application-level switching

■ A Work Area control allows users to open multiple work units facilitating comparisons, multi-tasking, and copy-and-paste operations

■ Auto-generated gadgets contain all versions of the control in one section

Smart Layouts Smart Layouts help ensure that work object forms in your application are attractive and easy for users to understand and navigate. Smart Layouts:

■ Enable consistent spacing, style, and layout of the work form

■ Can be applied to your existing templates to eliminate alignment issues of previous releases by ensuring that field labels and input fields are vertically aligned


What’s new in 5.5 — Correspondence Changes to correspondence provide developers with capabilities that make it easier to create professional looking and secure correspondence output.

Rich Text Editing

A rich text editor embedded in correspondence rules, including fragments and paragraphs, supports use of numerous text editing tools including color, font, alignment, links, pictures, and tables to replace labor intensive HTML coding.

Digital Signatures for Emails

You can now include a digital signature in outgoing emails. This feature provides the security for recipients to verify the sender of the message.

What’s new in 5.5 — Direct Capture of Objectives (DCO) Enhancements to DCO capabilities provide new tools and features to make it easy for business users and application developers to plan and manage project and improvement initiatives.

Application Profiler and Application Accelerator Enhancements ■ Security definition restricts users who can access and modify a profile

■ Enhanced controls manage data entry and display large lists

■ Rich text editing controls enhance formatting of text descriptions for document generation

■ Interactive timeline displays project phases

■ Heat map provides analysis of project elements

Application Document Wizard Enhancements ■ Document settings can be saved and named for reuse

■ Hyperlinks allow users to open and modify rules while in the document

■ Tree controls reorder and suppress flows in a document

■ Screenshot overrides can be inserted into the document


What’s new in 5.5 — Developer Desktop and Rule Forms These new and improved tools and facilities focus on improving the developer experience and increasing productivity.

Skin Applied to Design View You can set a preference when building UI components that applies the skin rule used by a portal when you:

■ Open, edit, or preview a harness, section, or flow action rule

■ Execute a flow using the Run > Process > menu option

New and SaveAs Filter Limits Class Selection

A class filter on the New and SaveAs dialog limits the selection list of classes to implementation or framework level for rules with an Applies-To class. This feature avoids searching long lists of classes that are not part of your implementation or framework and eliminates validation errors caused by creating instances in the wrong RuleSets.

Application Skin wizard The Application Skin wizard enables you to quickly develop and put into production portal skins that reflect corporate and business standards while reducing or eliminating manual CSS development.

■ In a single step, the new Quick Create feature allows you to create default fonts, and the main and accent colors for your portals, work forms, and reports

■ You have greater control over skin elements such as padding, indent, backgrounds, and borders

■ A new Color Picker control allows you to preview, define, or select colors for styles

Filter by RuleSet Option

A Filter by Ruleset option allows you filter the Application Explorer to show only rules in one RuleSet. This feature improves access to rules that are most important to your development work.

Rule Category Menu

The rule category menu now displays from the NEW toolbar button to quickly select and create new rules when another rule type is displayed.


Work Parties Label

A new Party Label field on the Work Parties rule can be used to define a unique label that appears on a work object entry form to identify the party.

Function Alias Type Selection

An Alias Type dropdown on Function Alias rule new and SaveAs forms allows you to quickly select the alias type.

Auto-Population of Object Properties

Object properties can be auto populated in Page and Page Lists modes that correspond to concrete classes.

Nested Activity Loops

You can create and maintain multiple, nested iterations (loops) within a single step of an activity.

Design Time Warnings Warning text is displayed at design time when hard-coded references to class names are entered in activity rules.

Style Discovery Tool

A Styles option for the Rules Inspector opens the Style Discovery tool that provides an interactive way to determine, temporarily override, and experiment with CSS style changes to elements of a work object.

Expanded Page Referencing in Models Expressions can be used in a Model rule to reference values from other pages other than those identified on a Pages and Classes tab.

What’s new in 5.5 — End User Controls (Generated UI) These features provide a greater selection of controls that you can use to build your UI and create end user portals that are richer, more interactive, and improve user navigation.

Enhanced Grid Control

A full-featured Grid control supports numerous configurations, including editing in a panel and inline editing.


Detail Display from Tree Grid

You can display and review hierarchy as well as detailed information at the same time from a tree grid.

Multi-Level Portal Menus

Multi-level menus can be dynamically generated by an XML rule and added to an end user portal.

Auto Generated History and Attachments

History and Attachments are now auto-generated allowing you to customize these displays in your applications. Each section can be displayed as a pop up window or be inserted as in-line text within the section.

Organization Chart Viewer An improved view for the organization displays all levels of the organizational hierarchy in a tree grid. From the tree, you can add new division, unit, and operator records.

Page Load Indicators

Page Load Indicators display to indicate that information is being downloaded to the desktop. Controls are disabled and the screens are grayed out until completion.

What’s new in 5.5 — Integration These features provide additional capabilities that can be used to support interactions with distributed software and systems.

Connect File Rule and Method ■ A new Connect File rule defines the location and name of an output file

in order to write content. This broadens your choices of integration capabilities with external systems.

■ The Connect-File method can write, overwrite, or append data to a file with content from an HTML Stream, XML Stream, eForm, Work Attachment, Clipboard Property, or a MAP Structured rule.


Connect FTP

Your application can act as a File Transfer Protocol client to copy a file from your Process Commander system to a remote FTP server. FTP Server data instances and a Connect-FTP method defined in an activity are the facilities used to configure this feature.

Tree Control for XML Rules

A visual tree-based interface provides a faster and more intuitive way to define Parse XML and Stream XML rules.

■ Supports drag and drop, add, remove, rename and remap functions

■ XML rules created in prior versions can be upgraded to use this feature

SOAP Connector Enhancements A number of enhancements have been implemented to support SOAP connectivity.

■ Ability to import WSDL from a URL, local directory, or paste content directly into the Connector accelerator

■ Ability to test web service operations prior to generating properties and rules

■ Ability to view rand manipulate the XML for an operation request and response prior to completing the accelerator definition

■ Ability to create custom Web Services using existing or 3rd party XML schema definitions

■ Ability to map whole or partial schemas with existing elements

Asynchronous HTTP or SOAP

You can now define a Connect Request Processor data instance that supports an asynchronous HTTP or SOAP connector. This enables the queuing and execution of the next processing step in a flow without waiting for a response from an external system.

WebService Security for SOAP

WS-Security for SOAP supports communication with web services that implement WS-Policy and WS-Addressing. The WS-Security Profile defines all attributes of the security profile and references the binary keystore.


JMS and MQ Service Queue Debugging Tools

Testing and debugging JMS and MQ services is easier with the ability to add and manually interact with processing queues. You can browse, put, and remove queue items from request and response queues and watch the result in the actual queue in real time.

CSV File Format Option

A Comma Separated Values (CSV) field format option in Parse-Delimited rules can be used to indicate that the content of the incoming file is in CSV format including those exported from Microsoft Excel. When used, field values are separated by a single comma. Field values that contain a comma are surrounded by a pair of double-quote characters.

Agent Queuing for Multiple Nodes

The standard agent activities have been configured to use queuing to improve throughput and avoid issues that occur when agents run on multiple nodes.

Startup Option for Listeners

A Startup option for individual listener nodes allows you to control which nodes have active listeners at startup in a multi-node cluster.

Integrated Email Conversation Flows

Email messages can be defined as actionable items within work objects that can be started and replied to as an integrated part of a workflow.

New Rule for Structured Input Streams The Map Structured rule provides the ability to Parse (map an input stream into multiple properties) or Construct (map multiple input streams into a single property) input streams. This feature provides a simpler, alternative approach to specifying these operations in Java steps in an activity or a Structured Parse rule.

Asynchronous Multi-threaded Service Files

Service File rules can be defined using an additional option to execute them asynchronously using multiple system threads. This queue and multi-thread approach allows the system to process very large files faster and more efficiently.


Oracle Procedures Return ResultSet

Oracle stored procedures can now return resultset output parameters (SYS_REFCURSOR) by using the {resultset} keyword.

What’s new in 5.5 — Performance and Scalability These features provide developers and system administrators with additional tools and options to monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot application configuration, performance and scalability.

Additional Performance Alerts Seven new PEGA performance alerts provide additional insight into system conditions and behaviors.

Alert ID Name Description

PEGA0029 Byte Threshold The number of bytes sent to the browser by an HTML stream exceeds threshold.

PEGA0030 Requestor Limit The number of requestors on a system node exceeds 200 (or another threshold setting).

PEGA0031 Stream Overwritten

A generated HTML stream was overwritten without being sent to the browser client.

PEGA0032 Invalidated Rules

Rule change invalidated the specified threshold of entries in the Rule Assembly cache.

PEGA0033 DB Query Length

Database query length exceeds the specified threshold.

PEGA0034 Declare Index The number of declare indexes in a single interaction exceeds threshold.

PEGA0035 Clipboard List Size

A Page List property contains more than a specified threshold number of elements.

System Management Application options

New options allow you to:

■ Quickly monitor and review clipboard memory size demand at the requestor and individual page level

■ Run a report to determine the size and record count of JVM memory caches


Tool Captures Environment Statistics for Analysis

Using the Environment Statistic Reporter tool, you can configure your system to capture and send environment statistics directly to Pegasystems for performance analysis and diagnosis.

Lucene 2 Upgrade An internal system upgrade to Lucene Version 2 provides support for:

■ Faster search functions

■ Ability to search for numbers as well as text strings using the Find and Advanced Search gadgets

■ Separate indexing of Work- and Data- classes

■ A Full Text Search option on the Class form to exclude specific work objects from the search index

What’s new in 5.5 — Process and Decisions These tools and facilities are designed to expand the capabilities of flow diagrams and provide easier design and editing tools.

Flow Rule Enhancements ■ Ability to specify a router activity in a Swim Lane shape and associate

the router with Assignment shapes inside the lane

■ A shape viewer tool allows you to edit shape attributes from the flow image without affecting the process diagram -- this feature can be used by developers who do not have Visio on their desktop

■ Ability to represent process flow diagrams using industry standard XML formats (XPDL and BPEL), enabling you to transfer your process flow definitions to other flow management systems

■ When editing a flow diagram in Visio, the Visio stencil can be changed and the page orientation switched between Portrait or Landscape mode.

■ Notify and router properties can be specified in the shape’s property panel

■ Flow actions and decisions can be created from a harness display during the test of a draft flow

■ Option to invoke flow action post-processing activities during a screen flow when users click another tab on the screen


What’s new in 5.5 — Reporting These features are designed to enhance the reporting capabilities and provide you with improved reporting tools and formats.

Mirror Database for Reports

List view and summary view reports can be based on data from a "slave" or mirror database dedicated to reporting, reducing query processing demand on the master PegaRULES database.

Symbolic Time Period Criteria

You can define symbolic or relative time periods such as Current Year and Next Year in the criteria of List View and Summary View reports to provide additional flexibility and eliminate the need to export and overwrite date formats.

Multiple Smart Info Displays

Reports can be configured to display different Smart Info windows when hovering over an item, embedding the window into the report, or right-clicking on an item.

PDF Report Export

Report displays can include an Export to PDF link that converts the report output to a downloadable PDF file.

List View to Summary View Drilldown

When configured, users can drill down into a List View from a Summary View by clicking on a row of the Summary View.

Filtered List View Reports

Users can reorder and filter columns of a List View report by hovering over the column header.

Visual Indicator An animated busy indicator (icon) provides visual feedback to users when a report or chart is in the process of being generated.

Row Selection Indicator

List View reports can indicate the number of rows selected and whether additional rows that are not displayed meet selection criteria.


Dynamic Class Selection for Implementation Reporting

List View and Summary View reports can be flagged to display work data for implementation level reporting even though they are defined at the framework level. This feature eliminates the need to copy and proliferate reports and processing rules to display and process work at the correct class level.

What’s new in 5.5 — Rules Management These tools and features provide additional support to the developer or system administrator in the management, merge, migration, and refactoring of rules and RuleSets to target environments.

RuleSet Maintenance Wizard The RuleSet Maintenance wizard provides a unified approach to RuleSet and rule management and supports the ability to:

■ Copy, skim, and merge multiple RuleSets and RuleSet versions into a single target RuleSet version

■ Consolidate new RuleSet versions into an earlier RuleSet version

Bulk Refactoring A Refactor option displays on the context menu of the Application Explorer when a class is selected that allows you to move one or more rules from a selected class and to a selected RuleSet and version.

Product Rule Enhancements Additional options in the Product Rule allow you to create a zip file to migrate rules that include:

■ Rules in RuleSets and versions for a specific application

■ Data instances that are filtered and selected from a ListView

Rule Wizard Enhancements ■ The Search/Replace a String wizard is enhanced to allow finer control

over which rules are modified, and to allow updating rules that belong to locked RuleSet versions.

■ The Rename a Class wizard has been enhanced to support greater control over which rules and other objects are modified. When a class derived from the Work- base class is renamed, the keys of the work objects can be updated to reflect the new class name.

■ The Delete a Class wizard now allows you to delete rules from a locked RuleSet.


What’s New in 5.5 — Security

Enhancements to Process Commander security provide additional data security and security management capabilities in the area of work history, attachment, directory, and authentication.

Filter Work History Records Based on Production Level You can control which flow shapes in your application flow rules add work object history at runtime. Based on the values of production level system setting and a decision tree rule, this security function can suppress some or all automatically-generated work object history records.

JNDI for LDAP

JNDI entry support has been added for LDAP servers referenced by authentication service rules.

Directory and Attachment Security ■ Files are deleted automatically from the ServiceExport directory

■ You can apply attachment categories to attachment types when you invoke an attachment-related flow action. This feature enhances the efficiency of review and reporting processes and enables flexible configuration of attachment security

■ Ability to restrict users from performing operations such as creating, viewing, editing, or deleting attachments in an attachment category

■ Using the Find Content tool, you can exclude instances from specific

classes when performing a full text search

What’s new in 5.5 — Testing These features expand the existing capabilities of the Auto Test component.

■ Ability to set input fields in a flow test case

■ Ability to delete test objects in test suites following test execution

■ Ability to create and execute test case for Activity rules test activities

■ Ability to create test suites from the testing dashboard and execute all test suites for an application

■ Ability to schedule a test suite to run daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly


What’s new in 5.5 — Application Visualization These capabilities provide a comprehensive visual summary of an application structure and assets from the developer portal.

Application Viewer

A single mouse click from the Developer portal graphically displays your application and allows you to drill down and link to the detail of the underlying rulebase.

■ The Application Summary tab displays a 360 degree view of an application and its rules visually organized under six functional capabilities known as the Six R's: Receive, Route, Report , Respond, Research, and Resolve

■ The Rule Type tab displays a heat map and the quantity of the rule types in the application definition. Rules that are displayed can be filtered and selectively shaded.

■ The Rule Reference tab displays a heat map of rules in the application definition grouped by category and rule type.

■ Mouse clicks on the heat maps list rules by category or list referenced rules

What’s New in 5.5 — Other Enhancements

Interactive My Alerts Display

The My Alerts display shows the most recent alerts from your requestor process. Users receive a brief pop-up notification as each alert appears. Clicking the alert icon displays all alerts and allows you to drill down into the list.

Column Populator for Database Tables

The Column Populator updates rows of PegaRULES database tables to support schema changes. This utility:

■ Populates values for a new column corresponding to a newly exposed property, formerly in the Storage Stream (BLOB) column

■ Provides an external, more powerful alternative to the Modify Database Schema wizard


Operator ID Images

A small picture or image can be associated with an Operator ID. This image appears on the operator’s My Profile display.

Customized History and Attachment Display ■ Work object history and attachment data can be customized to display

information in user-friendly business terms.

■ Greater control over the layout, appearance and functions available when adding attachments

■ Ability to override list view and section rules in history display

■ Note attachments can use rich text editing tools to style content

■ Screen shot and scanned image attachment types are available to users without special configuration

Method Creates External List

The Obj-Browse method can create a list of objects in an external class.

Create RuleSet and RuleSet Version at Same Time You can create a RuleSet and RuleSet version in a single step from the Application menu when the RuleSet version has only one prerequisite RuleSet Version.

Access Group Associations

Operators assigned to an access group can be quickly identified by clicking the Associations tab of a rule.


Resolved Issues As with any software product, features occasionally do not behave as intended. Pegasystems is committed to a high standard of quality, and has implemented procedures and programs to detect and correct such issues in the product. The following is a list of the changes made in Version V5.5 that are of most interest and likely to have the most impact on the Pegasystems user and developer community.

Reference numbers beginning with “BUG-” refer to entries in the Pegasystems issue tracking system. Reference numbers beginning with “SR-” refer to corresponding service request entries in the Pegasystems Customer Support system.

BUG-15579: Email Listeners Do Not Start After Upgrade (SR-18576)

After an upgrade to V5.4 SP1, Email listeners could not be started from the System Management Application even though connectivity from the Email server and listener was working. This problem occurred because the startup process for the listener was not passing host and port information preventing secure connections from finding the correct port. The underlying code has been updated to pass this information.

BUG-15595: Unable to Save Application Rules After V 5.4 Upgrade (SR-18753)

Application rules could not be saved after an upgrade to V5.4 when the order of the RuleSets was not consistent with their stated prerequisites.

For example: if FirstRuleSet:01-01-01 has SecondRuleSet:02-01-01 as a prerequisite, then FirstRuleSet must appear before SecondRuleSet in the application rule. If this was not the case, the rule failed validation.

To bypass this error, a new compatibility prconfig setting named “compatibility/strictRuleSetOrderValidation" is available. When set to "false," validation does not occur. The default value is "true".

This setting can be configured in two ways.

■ With a particular Rule-Application name, in which case the setting only applies to Rule-Applications with that name; For example: if the setting “compatibility/strictRuleSetOrderValidation/MyApplication” is set to false, then this validation will not be performed for any version of MyApplication

■ With no Rule-Application name, in which case it applies to all Rule-Application rules


BUG-16111: Screen Reader Unable to Read Title Attributes (SR-18931)

In accessible applications, the JAWS screen reader could not read the TITLE attribute in the tag that referenced the background image for the ascending/descending icon in the attachment window. It also could not read the TITLE attribute of a background image. Both of these behaviors have been corrected.

BUG-16151: User Password Displayed in Alert Log (SR-19599)

When a user logged in using an LDAP URL, an entry was placed in the alert log file that displayed the user’s password in the alert log as part of the query string when the user logged in to the system.

The code has been updated to code to remove the password with statement "PasswordRemoved" when a parameter page is displayed.

BUG-16187: Excel Unable to Translate Date and Integer Formats (SR-19722)

The following List View and Summary View report issues that occurred when report data was exported to Microsoft Excel have been corrected.

■ When a drilldown report contained a DateTime or an Integer property was exported to Excel, the property either did not display in the same format or when it displayed Excel did not recognize the format. For example:

■ A hidden row appeared in the exported spreadsheet that hindered the ability to sort and filter the report data correctly in Excel.


BUG-16218: Connector Does Not Map Property (SR-19747)

Starting in V 5.4, SOAP connectors no longer associated the type “info” with elements that contained references to another class. When you upgraded from a previous release, the SOAP requests with properties mapped to these elements would be missing. The mapping elements have been restored.

BUG-14645: Java Exception With APPEND Using Property Set (SR-17160)

A problem occurred in the wrapper source code when the Property Set method was used in an activity to APPEND data to an existing property using custom wrapper code. A Java exception occurred when trying to set the class using the standard wrapper source code.

To solve this issue, a new interface, PRWrapperSourceBuilder, is available that allows you to register a custom wrapper builder. To do this, specify the full class name in the Dynamic System Setting:

"Pega-IntSvcs general/alternateWrapperSourceBuilder"

Changes to this value require a restart of the server.

BUG-16625: Validate Call to Another Validate Rule Creates Logfile Messages (SR-20434)

Runtime error message were sent to the logfiles when a validate rule containing a call to another validate rule was run in a process like a flowAction submit. The executable java has been updated to correct the issue.

BUG-16622: File Listener Works Intermittently (SR-20269)

The File Listener service failed intermittently when the listener started a requestor to read a large file but the time needed to read the file exceeded the requestor’s timeout period. When this happened, the system’s Master Agent removed the requestor from the queue and the file operation failed. A change has been made to the underlying code to lock the requestor and prevent its removal by the Master Agent.

BUG-16634: Accessible Columns Incorrectly Read as Sorted (SR-20633)

The text of the tool tip for column headers for the Accessible attachment and history display was incorrectly worded causing a screen reader to read that a column was sorted in an ascending order to the user when it was not.


BUG-16533: ETier Transaction Does Not Rollback (SR-20131)

In an ETier environment, a commit step could not perform a rollback. This occurred when an Obj-Save method succeeded and a later Obj-Save method failed. The commit step now performs the rollback.

BUG-16664: Unable to Process Multiple Email Attachments (SR-20699)

When an Email listener received an email with multiple attachments with the same file name and extension but with different content, the system would only process one of the attachments. Now, all attachments will be processed.

BUG-16876: Review Harness Displays List As Available for Selection (SR-21584)

In a display where two dynamic selection lists are configured and one list is a parent of the other, if the user has not made a selection from either list, the review harness displayed with the second list in active selection mode instead of the expected read-only mode. This behavior no longer occurs.


Previously Known Issues Now Resolved This section describes issues that were listed as Known Issues in a previously released PegaRULES Process Commander version that have been resolved in V 5.5.

If you have implemented workarounds for these issues, review the list to determine whether those workarounds need to be modified based on these changes.

BUG-596: Dialog Window Does Not Display in Localized Language

When an application is localized, the dialog window that displays on the user portal to inform the user that a work item is about to be replaced displays in English instead of the localized language.

BUG-6212: Direct Web Access Opens Work Object in Update mode

When a work object is opened through a Direct Web Access link, the object is displayed in an Update mode rather than a Review mode.

BUG-757: Build PegaRULES Index Process Displays Error Message

An error message is displayed when the Build PegaRULES Index option is selected from the Administration > Index Management link of the System Application Tool.

BUG-9353: Report Wizard Refreshes Property List With All Properties

In the Report Wizard, after selecting a Class Group in Step 2 – Data Source and then selecting a property from the list for that class group in Step 3 – Criteria, the wizard refreshes the list and displays all exposed properties rather than those for the class group.


Known Issues Because of the competitive, fast-paced nature of enterprise software development, it is not always possible to address every issue, interoperability concern, or imperfection in a given release of a product. Pegasystems' primary goal is to ensure the success of our customers. We are therefore describing the following known issues that may occur in Version 5.5.

BUG-6997: Selection List of RuleSets in SaveAs Dialog Incomplete The list of RuleSets displayed for selection on the SaveAs dialog screen does not display a complete list of RuleSets when the list is filtered using the ALL option.

You can see the list of ALL of your RuleSets by displaying the RuleSet and Application RuleSets lists in your operator profile.

BUG-91: JSP Tags Cannot Reference a Boolean Property You cannot test a boolean property in a JSP tag without specifying the value in quotes. For example: if your Boolean property is .MyTrueFalse, then specify:

BUG-1459: Renaming RuleSet Version Does Not Update Application Rule After moving a RuleSet using the Rename a RuleSet wizard, the RuleSet name specified in Application rules that referenced the original RuleSet version continue to display the old RuleSet version. This problem requires you to manually update the Application rules.

BUG-2477: Composite Menu Does Not Display With Invalid XML Syntax If an invalid XML syntax is entered in an XML rule and the XML is included as a menu option in a Section rule in a composite portal harness, the menu will not display at run time and no error condition will be raised.

The XML syntax may not be properly delimited.


BUG-6316: Declare Expressions Fail When Data Table Edited in Excel If you use the Microsoft Excel editor feature for Data Table wizard to maintain a Declare Expression, the expression will not work properly. For example:

1. Create a data table of data class C with two properties (P1, P2).

2. Create a declare expression on P2 so that P2 will equal P1.

3. Now open the data table wizard and click the Edit in Excel button.

4. Add values in the P1 column and close Excel.

5. The data table displays values in the P1 column but P2 is not updated.

To avoid this problem, enter your updates in the Data Table wizard entry screens.

BUG-7069: Where-Am-I Cannot Display Flow Image Until Saved in Visio Flows created using the Enterprise Application Accelerator are created in draft mode without a .jpg image of the flow. If you run a flow without saving it first in Visio, the Where-Am-I icon is unable to display the flow image.

Saving the flow in Visio creates the image and the next time the flow is run, clicking the icon displays the flow.

Rules are marked final to protect them from being overridden. A final rule has the Available field is set to Final. On a rule form, this setting appears with a green stopped arrow ( ). On reports, the arrow is brown ( ).

Blocked Rules

A blocked rule is a rule that has the availability property pyRuleAvailable set to Blocked. When displayed, blocked rules have a distinctive gray appearance.

The icon on the top right of a rule form indicates that a rule is blocked.
