APPROVED BY AICTE, NEW DELHI & AFFILIATED TO KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY, KURUKSHETRA
Panipat is a city of ancient and historic importance in the state of Haryana, India. It is located on NH-1
(Now NH-44) and comes under the National Capital Region of Delhi.
Panipat was one of the five cities (prasthas) founded by the Pandava brothers during the times of the
Mahabharata, its historic name thus being Panduprastha.
Panipat was the scene of three pivotal battles which were the turning points of the Indian history. The First
Battle of Panipat was fought in 1526 between Ibrahim Lodhi and Babur which led to the establishment of
Mughal empire in India. The Kabuli Bagh Mosque and the adjacent majestic garden with an imposing tank
is a symbol of the victory of Babur over Ibrahim Lodhi. More than a religious shrine, the place is better
known as a historical monument. The Second Battle of Panipat was fought in 1556 between the thirteen
years old Emperor, Akbar and Hemu, in which Akbar was led to victory by his general Bairam Khan. The
Third Battle of Panipat was fought in 1761 between the Afghan king Ahmad Shah Abdali and the
Marathas in which Ahmad Shah won decisively. ‘Kala Amb' is a memorial built in memory of the soldiers
who died in the battlefield of Panipat. It is said that blood of the dead soldiers was mixed with the soil and
the fruit of a mango tree became black in color and hence the name "Kala Amb," meaning "Black Mango."
Panipat is also the proud nativity of famous Urdu shayar Maulana Hali.
Presently, Panipat city is a hub of textiles and carpets industry. It is the biggest centre for blankets and
carpets in India and houses a flourishing handloom weaving industry. Panipat, the city of weavers, is ndcelebrating 42 year of its prolific export business. A class of dynamic entrepreneurs has woven the
success story in this four decade long journey. Over the years, Panipat has been generating around Rs.
4,500 crore revenue per annum through export business.
There are about 300 active exporters creating around 3,00,000 direct jobs without any help from the
governmental or any non¬governmental organization and are engaged in competing against their rivals,
especially China.
Panipat has heavy industries like Refinery of the Indian Oil Corporation, National Thermal Power
Corporation Power Plant and National Fertilizers Limited. The pickle "Pachranga International" of Panipat is
also a well known Brand worldwide. The main sites of attraction are the grave of lbrahim Lodhi, Kabuli
Bagh, Devi Mandir, Salar Gunj Gate, and the tomb of the thirteenth century sufi saint Bu Ali Shah
Qalandar, Shri Ram Sharanam, Panipat Museum etc.
The hot spots of Panipat for shopping and hanging out are Mittal Mega Mall, Vishal Mega Mart, City
Centre, Reliance Fresh, Angel Mall, Suvidha, Insar Bazaar and many more. The nearest cinemas are about
20 km towards Panipat and 70 km towards Delhi from PIET, where you may unwind yourself.

Since the inception of PIET, our aim is to provide an
academically exhilarating environment allowing our students
to feel more responsible towards their society. It is fulfilling to
note that our concerted efforts under the auspices of
Vidyapeeth Education Trust have fructified and PIET today
enjoys the distinction in the fields of engineering,
management and above all social welfare. Our beliefs have
influenced the way of teaching and make the students
participate in philanthropy and social welfare. I have realized
that there can’t be a nobler act than to lead an educational
institute like PIET.
I strongly believe that education ought to be “good" or
"moral" and for this reason it is important to groom the
students morally for the real life of the corporate world and
imbibe in them not only academic brilliance but also
professional ethics.
Over years, we have been aiming at the welfare of the society
and embracing the excellence in education. Education is a
very important contributing element to both the benevolence
and economic development of the society.
Hariom Tayal
“I reiterate my promise to make the students human beings
first and then professionals.”

DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
I take pride in reaching out to the young, debonair aspirants
with the assurance that PIET has ever been committed to
imparting a holistic education in sync with the paradigm shift
in job space. Our integrated modules of quality instruction,
robust training programs, recreational cultural n sports
extravaganza, pragmatic study tours, cumulative skills-honing
sessions, rigorous aptitude- enhancing schedules, and a host
of job-oriented interactive activities add up to PIET's agenda
of all-round development of its ambitious students.
I feel privileged to mention that founders of PIET were prudent
enough to envisage that the mission of social service through
education will be incomplete without making the students
employable. Realising the importance of employment aspect
of the College Profile, they, in its very prime, set up a purposive
Training and Placement Cell. This Cell is actively engaged with
the industry to procure and update the latest inputs, provide
the students focused training, and help them imbibe an
appropriate mindset to leverage job opportunities.
Dear aspirants! Let me apprise you that we, at PIET, have
assiduously fostered a culture of collective responsibility to
shape your destiny by empowering you with employability
skills of intelligence, discipline, etiquettes, self- confidence,
humility, and hard work. Let me reiterate that our focus is on
producing excellent outcome rather than churning out mere
output. I can simply assert that the only way to experience this
excellence is to join PIET & feel the difference.
Prospective PIETians! This is our avowed promise, nurtured by
mutual trust. Come, join us, and be a proud part of that
promise to charter a promising future for yourselves. We
extend you a hearty welcome!
Capt. (Dr.) K.K. Paliwal

EXTENSIVE DIGITAL LIBRARYThe concept of libraries has revolutionized human creative thinking
and mankind has witnessed a sea change in the standard of living as
books preserve archival materials and historical records for the coming
generations. We are a part of an information age and libraries should
be situated in a dynamic information environment to provide the in-
depth knowledge to their users. The library, as the resource gateway
through which people disseminate and share information, needs to be
redefined and re-emphasised for what is essential to its professional
practice in the digital age.

TV Roadies is a youth-based popular reality television show on MTV India. “Roadies has travel, adventure, Mdrama, touch of voyeurism. The selected Roadies are given Hero Impulse (Earlier Hero Honda Karizma) bikes to travel on a pre-decided route. Each episode features a vote-out at the end in which the roadies
eliminate one of their fellow roadie, thereby decreasing the number of roadies carrying on with the journey. Each episode consists of number of tasks or challenges which they have to perform. These tasks can be either “Money tasks” or “Immunity tasks”. In the “Money tasks”, the roadies add cash to their account on successful completion of these tasks while in “Immunity tasks”, the team which wins, gets Immunity.Amaneet Singh, a student pursuing BBA from our college, enthralled the judges immensely with his muscular personality and clear opinions towards mankind. Educational visits form the basis to give the students maximum
technical knowledge. These visits help the students to select the
right careers.
Technical education ,without being face to face to the actual
activity places, is never rated fruitful. Every year we develop a
series of extraordinary pre-planned group tours for students, from
freshers to rising seniors. It provides opportunities to students to
discover new things for themselves, through participation in
hands-on activities.
Industrial visits are an efforts to bridge the gap between theroy
and practical and its benifits are as follows:
1. It help students gain first hand information regarding
functioning of the Industry
2. Provides an opportunity to plan, organize and engage in
active learning experiences both inside and outside the
classroom
3. It is mandatory in various Indian universities hence it also
fulfills certain curriculum & extra curriculum requirements
4. Provides an insight into the real working environment of the
Industry
5. Helps them to envision their future place in the working
environment.

PIET has been allotted one unit of
100 volunteers of The National
Service Scheme (NSS) by the
Government of Haryana. The
NSS is Indian government-
sponsored publ i c serv ice
program conducted by the
Department of Youth Affairs and
Sports of the India. The NSS
scheme was launched in
Gandhiji's Centenary year, 1969
with a dream of developing
students’ personality through
community service. NSS is a
voluntary association of young
people in Colleges.
The programme aims to inculcate
social welfare in students, and to
provide service to society
without bias. NSS volunteers
work to ensure that everyone
who is needy gets help to
enhance their standard of living
and lead a life of dignity. In doing
so, volunteers learn from people
in villages how to lead a good life
despite the scarcity of resources.
It also provides help in natural
and man-made disasters by
providing food, clothing and first
aid to the disaster victims.
The Motto of NSS "Not Me But
You", reflects the essence of
democratic living and upholds
the need for self-less service. NSS
helps the students develop
appreciation to other persons’
point of view and also show
consideration to other living
beings. The philosophy of the NSS
is well clear in this motto, which
underlines the belief that the
welfare of an individual is ultimately
dependent on the welfare of the
society as a whole and therefore,
the NSS volunteers strive for the
well-being of society.

and enthuse the creativities of the students in
various fields such as singing, dancing, poetry,
theatre, choreography, mime, and techno-quiz
and so on. The fest is an incorporation of
creativity, talent and innovation. The best part is
that such shows are coordinated, organized and
managed by the students to enhance their
managerial skills and boost their confidence level.
It presents a unique conceptual learning
opportunity for students, ending with a star night
celebration to infuse the youth with energy for an
ongoing participation. So far high profile figures

IET goes an extra mile in encouraging the technical aptitude of the aspiring
Pengineers and integrating it with their sense of social responsibility. This is
particularly achieved by a special emphasis on quality projects undertaken
by its students as a part of their curriculum. The Management and faculty specially
ensures that project work is accomplished as an advanced hands-on training to
convert theoretical skills into practical initiative. This focus on applied part of
domain knowledge has often led the talented students to come up with redesigned
technology and successfully create new prototypes for public comfort. The
teachers & students of all departments are earnest in carrying out the project works
with a spirit of rigour and innovation. The students of Mechanical Engineering
extended the applications of automobile air-conditioning technology and
redesigned its compact use in a tractor to provide respite to the toiling farmers in
summer conditions. The model is undergoing a process of testing to fine-tune it to
become a landmark in Mechanical Engineering. Another group of students of
Mechanical Engineering has designed and fabricated Motorized Personal
Transportation Vehicle, commercially known as Segway. The prototype is based on
self-balancing motor-operated, eco friendly means of transportation, using two
motors of 18 hp and 18 volt to power the vehicle which moves on two independent
chain drives.
Likewise, the students of IT have developed some standard projects Like Hook My
Book, E-Brokerage System, Billing System, by reconfiguring existing softwares to
facilitate the customer’s requirements and enable them to complete business
expeditiously. The students of ECE have also gone ahead with constructive
thinking & have come up with simplified, inexpensive models of Humidity Indicator
& Controller, Digital Thermometer & Controller, Edge Avoider Robot, and
Microcontroller Based Code Lock, etc.
The budding managers of B.B.A. have undertaken various projects on corporate
social responsibility. Medical Tourism in India, E- Marketing, Value Marketing,
Online Trading, Employee Engagement, ServQual Analysis in Hotel Industry, Gap
Analysis in Aviation Sector are some of the outstanding projects that have not only
been acclaimed by the companies but also referred to by them to take their
strategic decisions.
The students of MCA have also accomplished innovative projects on software
design that are highly user-friendly. The E-Kirana Store, Online Appraisal System,
Mobile Apps for Medanta Hospital are the distinguished ones amongst many
others designed by the students.
In the same vein, the Students of CSE have developed several websites, desktop
and data processing programmes using latest computer languages. Own Cloud
System, Student Record Management, Online Examination System and
Algorithm-based Data Processing are some among several innovative initiatives by
the budding engineers.
In this line, PIET has gone a step forward by establishing international collaboration
between PIET & NJIT, New Jersey , the USA, to enhance & strengthen joint research
projects. Under the aegis of this collaboration, our talent pool of six students had
six week rigorous training at NJIT in June-August 2013 to carry out innovative
projects as a part of specified Research & Development activity. These projects are
being finalized under the expert guidance of NJIT faculty for international level
publications.
Mechanical Department has made and electric card which is based on reverse trike
bike that has two wheels in front and one wheel in the back by using a CVT engine
and double wishbone suspension in a Honda Activa. A belt driven CVT used to
allow engine to turn at the rpm at which it produces greatest power. Frame is built
keeping in mind the stability factor. A taper frame was preferable to keep width less
in front and double wishbone suspension is built using iron pipe. Reverse trike
improves aerodynamics and with two wheels in the front the vehicle is far more
stable in breaking turns but remains more prone to overturning in normal turns
compare to an equivalent four wheel vehicle, unless the center of mass is lowest
and further forward. This is the PIET way of inspiring the young budding engineers
to excel and be future-ready. The students of ECE department developed a
remotely operated quad copter i.e. an unmanned aerial vehicle. It consists of 4
brushless D C motor, 4 channel transmitter and receiver, flight controller, 4 ESCs, 1
Li-Po battery, 4 propellers etc. The various applications of this project will be aerial
imagery and spying, search operations, air sensing engines in cities, fertilizers,
pesticides sprayers for crops, surveillance, mining, product delivery, archaeological
surveying etc.
