We will first take a look at what these new product offerings includes. We will share a bit about the key features and benefits that this adds across the E-Business Suite. Along with a high level overview of the drivers and capabilities that these 15 new extensions provide. We will demonstrate an example of the Endeca extensions for EBS in both eAM and iProcurement. With the E-Business Suite extension offering , that leverages Endeca Information Discovery…..NOW, they do! The new apps are known collectively as: Oracle E-Business Suite Extensions for Oracle Endeca A mouth full, we know…BUT as the name suggests, we have taken advantage of the technology behind Oracle Endeca Information Discovery and integrated this with our E-Business Suite to provide a not only a new user experience, but also bringing product functionality not available from the core applications.

Endeca's sweet spot is information-driven navigation -- a search-based approach that helps users make sense of diverse data though visualizations including faceted search, range filters, tag clouds, charts and key indicators. Oracle has done the work of selecting and integrating the metadata for a complete data view with configured - key indicators, charts and attributes for open and guided searches. In addition to bringing together the structured data managed within the E-Business Suite, the Endeca technology provides drill down into semi or un-structured data such as Flexfields, Attachments, and Notes. The extensions offer more than a face lift. They provide new functionality to the end users, such as: searching across the eAM Organizations that a user has security to access. It’s embedded into the OAF pages and out of the box integration allows seamless navigate to the transactions that require action - whether to another OAF page or forms UI.
The idea behind the add-on extension modules is to let business users zero in on those problems and exception conditions on their own - without IT support. With our ever increasing world of information, If you cannot ask questions of your information why store it all? The extension apps are designed to bring transaction information ‘out’ of E-Business Suite and unlock insights in the ERP data through information-driven user experience. Delivered with Out-of-the-box EBS security and UI integrations allowing customers to Optimize EBS Return on Investment.

It’s no secret that the concern and risks of implementing software weighs heavily on our customers. The patches for EBS have no DB changes. And we provide an Endeca Quick Installer, so you can get up and running in very little time. Providing Powerful Information Discovery to the user community – with low risk and high gains. Endeca honors the EBS security settings for data access -- what users cannot see in EBS they cannot see in Endeca.
Sometimes when companies develop new product offerings, they take the “load the canon” approach, but when the shot is fired, they miss the target. With these extensions, we did not take that approach. We decided it more beneficial to both our customers and our development to get products out in the market as they are created in order to leverage the feedback more quickly and progressively adopt new products and further these extensions based on this feedback. So the initial delivery included Endeca extensions apps for this list of products.

In each product area, the pages were developed to address critical success factors or drivers for business results in the respective department/function. With Sales, meeting revenue goals is as critical as meeting customer commitments. When a company CEO calls to check on delayed sales orders, to see what can be done so the company can meet the numbers for a quarter ending in few days, it is important for the Order Fulfillment Manager or Warehouse Manager to understand any fulfillment delays and why the delays are occurring. The new extensions for Order Management provide the ability to prioritize high dollar sales and identify fulfillment obstacles. We can now inform the CEO that this larger Order will be fulfilled, so we can meet the numbers for this quarter. As part of product development and production, it is also important to have the information to make sourcing decisions. Having a view across organizations supports better control of spend and design costs.

Channel Revenue Management – pages to help claims agents to reduce revenue leakage from invalid deductions and write offs. The new complete data view allows them to focus on closing claims faster, identifying errors such as duplicate claims – all issues that have an impact on profit margins Demo Scenario 1: As a Channel Manager in charge of distributor sales noticed that there are several open claims for very large dollar amounts and these claims have been aging past the 30 days acceptable range. The Manager finds that most of the open claims have been assigned to a Senior Sales Analyst for research and settlement due to the amount of the claim. To ease the workload of the Senior Analyst, the Channel Manager drills down on an open claim and reassigns it to another analyst to process. Demo Scenario 2: A Financial Analyst in charge of researching and reconciling deductions has noticed a spike in short pays due to invoice taxation. Tax exempt customers have been charged sales tax in error. The analyst evaluates the validity of the short pay and will either write-off the tax or charge the customer back for the short payment. The analyst found that the customer submitted a tax exemption certificate and was not marked as exempt in the eTax engine. Future sales will now be taxed correctly.

And now for our favorite application…eAM!!! Ability to search across organizations that a User had security to access – assets, work order, work requests -- and seamlessly drill into the transaction to take actions is key. User can quickly identify work that needs attention and act upon it.
For those applications delivered in V1, there was continued development in those listed across the top. And new product extensions created for those in the bottom row. In each case, Oracle has done the work of selecting and integrating all the metadata that configures the key indicators, charts and attributes available for range-based filtering.
