Editorial New Products

Based on feedback and suggestions received from our valuable customers, Supreme continues to add new products to serve the market needs. Recently many new products have been added to the range which include extension of existing range as well as many new unique products. Some of the products will be introduced for the first time in the country. This additional range of products will make the job easier, faster and economical. Details on various upcoming and recently introduced products along with some important systems that need special attention are given here.

Aquagold uPVC high pressure plumbing system is now well accepted for water distribution in buildings for uptake lines, terrace looping and down take lines. This system is also used for water mains or any pressure application for transportation of water up to 50°C. Besides cost effectiveness, it offers various benefits, as a result it has successfully replaced GI for various applications. Supreme offers complete solution as per ASTM standard from ½" to 4" and most running products up to 8". We recently introduced many new products in this category which includes SCH 40 fittings in ½"to 2", Tank Air Vents, Unions in 2½", 3" & 4", Y-strainers up to 2", flange adapters, tank connectors etc. Just for quick update the new products introduced recently are given below for ready reference. To remove the air from uptake watersupply lines and to provide ventilationto the water tank.

Elbow, Equal tee, MTA and Unions are the commonly used fittings in any piping system. These products are available in SCH 80 pressure class but in most of the applications SCH 40 pressure class fittings suffice the application requirements. Thus availability of these SCH 40 class fittings will reduce the project cost.

Coupler in 6" and 8" were supplied in fabricated form but to provide preciseand cost effective product we recently made available this in injection moulded version.

C-PVC Hot and Cold Water System

C-PVC piping system is well accepted for hot and cold application. This system can be used for concealed pipework and for water distribution in a building or for water mains in a temperature range between10° - 82° C. Many new products have been recently introduced in the range and some important products include-Hole repairing coupler, Concealed valve, Tank connectors etc. Just for quick update the new products introduced recently are given below for ready reference. These products are very useful and will help to complete the system.

Y-Strainer : Y-Strainers take their name from their configuration. Y-Strainers are typically used in applications where the amount of solids to be

removed is small, and where frequent clean-out is not required. Y- strainers are required to protect pumps, water meters, various fixtures in distribution network and for tank venting sizes at valve regulators. A Y-strainer has the advantage of being able to be installed in either a horizontal or vertical position. However, in both cases, the

Tank Air Vent : Normally tank vents are required for tank venting and to remove the air in the uptake line. Presently there is no readymade fitting available for this use as a result people have to combine two 90° elbow with pipe. We have introduced ready to use well designed Tank Air Vent to simplify the venting arrangement. This vent is additionally featured with provision of metal mesh which is removable for cleaning.

They are most commonly used in pressurized lines, ex. before water meter in house connection, in suction or delivery lines of pumping mains, outlet of overhead tanks in terrace loops or downtake lines. If solids will flush easily from the screen, and fluid can be exhausted to atmosphere, a blow-down valve on the drain port will allow clean-out without removal of the screen, and without interrupting the process flow.

These fittings are available in SDR 11 class but where strong and sturdy fittings are required for concealed / open plumbing we have SDR 9 class heavier fittings in our range. This SDR 9 range is now further enhanced with addition of many fittings enlisted herewith.

Hole Repairing Coupler : Small hole formed on outer surface due to nailing or drilling in concealed PP-R pipe work can be easily repaired with hole repairing plug. Unlike PP-R, in case of PVC or C-PVC it is very difficult to repair as material properties does not allow welding. Looking at this difficulties and consistent demand for some solution for such difficult task, we are very happy to offer an innovative product called Hole Repairing Coupler for C-PVC. This small but useful product can save lot of time and cost to repair the concealed pipe line. Photographs are self explanatory to understand the repair procedure.

Whenever the connection of CTS series product (up to 2" sizes)is required to connect with IPS series product (2"& above sizes) we need this IPSxCTS reducing bush for conversion.

Single Y is used for branchconnection at 45°.

In absence of these reducing tees we have to use combination of equal tee and reducing bush for reduced size branch connection. Now due to availability of the reducing tee's mentioned herewith one can save reducing bush and saves the cost.

Concealed valve is used forregulating flow in concealedpipe work in bath room.

SWR drainage system remains the preferred choice of leading architects and builders. Supreme offers, widest range of products in this product category. We continue to upgrade and add new products in this product segment. Recently we added many different products like Swept tee's, Balcony drain, Nahani trap premium and Wash basin P -Trap. Following is the list of new products which are added to the range for quick ready reference.

PP-R is an ideal product for hot and cold water distribution having many good properties. It can be used for any hot and cold water application in the range of -5° to 85° C. Besides water supply, PP-R can also be used for industrial application compressed air distribution, chilled water and air conditioning. Supreme Indo green PP-R is enhanced with following different products.

In the era of plastic revolution, Supreme has introduced new range of Aquakraft bath fitting series which consist of taps, faucet, showers and accessories. These products are affordable, adorable and durable. We have introduced wonder tap which can be mass product due to its pricing. These taps are corrosion free, leakage free and drip free. Along with the regular range we have already introduced a new range of quarter turn and 'O' black series.

Supreme SILTANK's made out of virgin raw material in four layers h a s m a n y u n i q u e features like thermal insulation using foam layer, Strength and sturdiness and extra net s t o r a g e c a p a c i t y. L o o k i n g a t t h e overwhelming market response we have been encouraged to add many new sizes of tanks in our SILTANK range. Recently 750, 1500, 2000, 3000 and 5000 ltr. capacity tanks have been added to the range. Tanks up to 1500 capacity are supplied in two varieties of covers i.e. locking type and threaded type where as 2000 and above sizes are offered in threaded type covers. SILTANK is much superior to any other water tanks available in the market in terms of strength and performance.

Swept tee's ensure smooth entry of branch flow in the main stack. This minimizes the turbulence and keeps the inside core of stack free for air circulation. As per UPC any tee should have swept design only. Swept tee's are functionally much superior than normal 87.5° tee's.

Bypass Bend

20, 25, 32 Bypass bends are used to crossthe pipeline, earlier we used to supply these bends in fabricated form but to provide better and functionally superior and cost effective product we recently made available these bends in injection moulding.

Unions are normally usedto dismantle pipe work for repair purpose. Recently we have made available different varieties viz. Regular design and with male and female threaded form. As these are provided with brass threaded connections they can be used for direct joining of CP fittings or metal pipes.

Wash Basin P-Trap: Trap is fitted to provide the water seal. In addition to water seal, assembling or installation, cleaning provision in case of blockages is equally important. We have

designed this trap considering all these aspects and is much superior to normally used bottle traps, or P-traps. Bottle traps are prohibited by UPC. In unorganized sector people do not use any trap and directly discharge it to floor trap or drain which is quite risky. Thus this economical

trap is much superior and can address most of the prevailing problems. Recently we have made long neck to match varying depths .

In addition to the above mentioned fittings, following new SWR fittings are recently introduced to the range. These new fittings can help to simplify and executive the work speedily and efficiently.

These fittings were supplied in fabricated form, but to improve the functionality and to reduce the cost we recently made available these wye's in injection moulding.

This is used to drain out the rain water in balcony area.

This heavier premium nahani trap is strong enough and safe against mechanical damages. Besides strength it provides increased water seal.

This single piece design is free from any joint and hence free from leakage possibility.

This is used to provide water seal to wash basin discharge.

Kitchen line trap is a trap which provides water seal and also useful for removing solid food particles in the kitchen waste discharge line. This can be used with or without sink trap and can be placed adjacent to the kitchen.

Clean outs are simply pipe fittings essentially required for rodding, these can be opened and resealed, allowing an entrance point into the drainage system for drain cleaning, clearing blockages or inspections.

First time in India we successfully manufactured co-extruded tracer HDPE pipes for drinking water purpose. These speciality pipes are offered in 200 to 450 mm PE 100 (6kgf/cm² pressure class) for L & T. This co-extruded tracers are specifically useful in locating the pipes under buried condition.

Casing Pipes

Supreme offers varieties of casing pipes for different application requirements. Recently we introduced casing pipes as per ASTM D - 1785 specification. These heavy duty pipes are made available in 40 to 300 mm in SCH 40 and SCH 80 varieties. These pipes are strong and durable with higher stiffness as compared to IS 12818 pipes prevailing in the market.

Polyethylene Piping System

These pipes have been specially designed and manufactured under stringent quality standards. Pipes are supplied with separate couplers and are integrally locked with the pipes using cord lock provision for perfect locking. These pipes are available in light duty, medium duty, standard duty, heavy duty and premium class for varying needs based on installation depths up to 350 mtrs.

Ultra 315 and 355 Multiple Inlets Chambers: Our endeavor is to offer more and more new innovative cost effective products. In this endeavor we recently introduced two inspection chamber configurations to enhance the existing range. This includes Ultra 315 multiple inlet inspection chamber with two 110 mm inlets at 45° and two 110 mm inlets at 90° in addition to main inlet / outlet in 110 mm and Ultra 355 mm multiple inlet inspection chamber with two 110 mm inlets at 45° and two 160 mm inlets at 90° in addition to the main inlet / outlet in 160 mm . For Ultra 355, riser and FRP cover is also planned to complete the assembly. These two configurations are quite useful to complete the range and to save lot of time and energy to execute the installations in time.

Ultra 600 x 200 mm Inspection Chambers: In addition to the various existing configurations in 600 x 250 mm size inspection chambers we recently introduced a very unique and cost effective inspection chambers in 600 x 200 mm size. This is available in four different configurations and are offered with and without integral shaft. This avoids the use of eccentric reducers while using 200 mm size and further cost saving is possible. This strong and sturdy design product is superior and helpful in many ways.

Master trap with integral chamber: Master trap is installed prior to connection of building drain to public sewer. This deep seal trap provides protection and prevents the entry of foul gases in the sewer system to enter in building drainage. Master trap is normally constructed with inspection chamber for necessary inspection and cleaning. Availability of master trap with integral inspection chamber, the product becomes complete and customer need not to construct separate masonry chamber.

355 Frame and Cover: 355 mm size frame and cover will be very soon made available in composite plastic. This cover has adequate strength to withstand light to medium traffic movements. With the availability of this frame and cover, the customer need not use anyfabricated cover or any other cover.

450 mm Light Weight Cover: This light weight cover is now made available in PE material. This is suitable for pedestrian areas where traffic load is not expected. Availability of this economical cover version can save the cost of total installation.

Rodding Eye : Access for inspection, cleaning and maintenance of underground drainage system is very important and normally achieved through inspection chambers and manholes. But most of the time we come across the situation where use of inspection chamber is either difficult or impossible due to site constraints, proximity of other adjacent chambers. Under such circumstances we can eliminate the use of chamber by replacing it with rodding eye. Thus rodding eye is an access fitting which allow rodding in case of blockage. Thus rodding eye helps to eliminate some chambers to reduce the project cost of underground drainage system. Application of the product is made clear through the picture.

Bottle Gully Trap 200x160mm:Waste lines are connected to inspection chambers through bottle gully traps. We already offer 6 x 4” size gully traps which have been well accepted in the market. For multistoried/hi-rise buildings this size of trap is not adequate. In case of multistorey buildings the hydraulic jump phenomenon takes place due to transition of flow from vertical to horizontal at relatively high velocity.

200 x 160 mm trap which is more useful as this provides additional space to accommodate liquid waste momentarily and minimizes the turbulence and overflow. We introduced this gully trap in two variants i.e. 200 x 160 and 200 x 160 x 160. These traps can also be used as collection pit for surface water collection.

The slope of the building drain is not adequate to maintain the velocity. The critical distance at which the hydraulic jump may occur varies from immediately at the stack fitting to 10 times the diameter of the stack downstream. Intensity of this hydraulic jump and effect can be minimized by using higher size of drain and the gully trap. Looking at this requirement we recently introduced

Grease trap: A grease trap is a device designed and installed to separate, retain and treat deleterious, hazardous and undesirable matter before they enter the sewer system. If large amounts of grease, soaps and oils enter a sewer system, the materials will coagulate, solidify and adhere to the inside wall of the pipe, eventually blocking or partially blocking the pipe. We recently introduced 50 ltrs grease trap in moulded form in addition to fabricated trap in 450 ltrs size .This new product is gaining good acceptance in the market.

Application - Restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, schools, hospitals and institutional or commercial buildings where food is served in great quantity may produce grease in sufficient amounts to warrant the installation of grease traps.

Dairies, slaughterhouses and commercial food-processing plants have grease and fats as byproducts and require grease trap.

Gasoline service stations, automobile repair shops, laundries, dry-cleaning plants, machine shops and industries using chemical processing are sources of flammable and volatile wastes that must be removed and treated; machine shops, garages, service stations, hospitals, medical clinics, dental laboratories and fish preparation areas also need grease traps.

Basket for separationof food/heavy particles

Recently we introduced solvent cement in different varieties both for uPVC and C-PVC piping system. It is gaining good market acceptance. This best quality product manufactured in ultra modern plant offers multiple advantages. With the recently added different varieties and packings complete range is now available. Features and benefits along with available range is given herewith for ready reference.

Solvent cements and primers

Yard gully :Yard gully is a part of storm water collection system, it is used to collect rain water / surface water from the open area and discharge it by separation of sand, silt and solid wastes in the runoff. Thus Yard gully is used to separate out solids in the surface water before discharging it to storm water main, which can then be cleaned periodically. This design has unique features like partition separating collection pit and discharge section. It is provided with 160 and 110 mm outlet which can be used as per site requirements. As this Yard gully is provided with adequate water seal it can also be used for waste water collection especially when waste water contains large quantity of solid particles.

All the varieties uPVC & C-PVC solvent cements and primers under the brand name SILBOND have been certified by NSF International, USA. NSF is most prestigious certification which endorse the quality of Silbond solvent cement and primers. These products are further certified for lead free plumbing application.

Product range and details of Solvent Cements, Primer, Rubber Lubricant

VIOLATION : Unvented trapsWithout proper venting, water in the trap can be siphoned out, leaving the trap dry and useless without any seal. Without a trap to seal off plumbing fixtures, nasty things such as explosive methane gas and vermin can creep into the house. Hence proper stack venting is essentially required to maintain the water seal.

COMMON PLUMBING MISTAKES

Lubricant is normally used for joining any pressure or non pressure pipes having rubber seal type joints. Recently we have made a very good quality lubricant which is offered in different packing. Unique features of this quality product are given here with.

Rubber Lubricant

In addition to the solvent cements, primers and lubricants we are very happy to introduce one more useful and value added product called thread sealant. Thread sealant is used on threaded joints to make it water tight. This specially designed sealant made available under the brand name 'BLUESIL' is non toxic, lead and silicon free and hence absolutely safe for potable water application. Thread sealants are much superior to Teflon tapes and holdtight normally used for threaded joints in terms of performance like sealing properties potability and even stresses that come on threaded fittings. Thread sealant has lubrication properties and hence joining and rejoining of threaded components becomes easier.
