So, what sort of modifications have been done to this vehicle to keep it looking the way it does, you may ask? Well, the full list of specification can be found above, but I will explain it briefly for you.

Most importantlMost importantly, this AE86 has a stock smallport 4AGE from a MK1 Toyota MR2. This particular engine has a very distinctive sound amongst Japanese cars, and is usually known for its pure high revving naturally aspirated sound. The car also has Kawasaki ZX9R Bike Carbs fitted which really do give it a lovely tone. This engine set-up with a Janspeed Stainless exhaust really does make this Trueno stand out from the crowd. the crowd.

As you can see, the exterior of the car has been very much inspired by the Japanese Manga Series ‘Initial D’ which I have previously mentioned. Some of these modifications include a Varis Racing Carbon Fibre Bonnet, along with 15x9J Compomotive Wheels; which really suit the car’s heritage.

What does the future hold for George’s stunning 86 Trueno? Well, unfortunately for us most of that is a secret, but we do know that he wants to improve the suspension and add a few exterior modifications. For exterior modifications. For myself writing this feature, the AE86 Trueno has always been a car that I have thought about owning, and to see such a clean and

well maintained example in the flesh is truly something that should be witnessed first hand. Having read the comics, and watched the Manga series, the driver heritage and history that this car has is like none other. Seeing these in videos racing through mountain roads, and in photos on the covers of Japanese tuning magazines is nothing like experiencing one in person. We love the story, history and the look of this iconic AE86, and really think it has earnt it’s classic/retro status!
