THE NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY

filipinoministry.org

The Novena to Our Lady of The Rosary is prayed in relation to the Feast of

Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. The feast day of the Rosary was

instituted by H.H. Pope Pius V in thanksgiving for the Blessed Virgin’s

assistance in the Christians’ Victory over the Ottoman army at the battle of

Lepanto on Oct. 7, 1571, a victory foretold by the Pontiff in response to the

praying of the Rosary. Since that time the Rosary remained a powerful

weapon in the apostolate as long as it is recited with devotion and meditation.

DAY 1 - WE PRAY FOR THE HOLY CHURCH To Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, who sees how the Catholic Faith is assailed by the devil and the world. To Thy protection, we entrust ourselves. Kindly offer to Thy Divine Son our resolutions and obtain from Him the graces necessary for us to keep them unto the end. AMEN. Scripture: "Jesus said to the disciples, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them all I have commanded you; and behold I will be with you till the close of the age". (Matthew 28:18-20) "Jesus said to Peter whom he was to put as 'head' of the other apostles: 'I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail and when you have turned again strengthen your brethren.'" (Luke 22:32) Reflection: By these words, Jesus instituted the Holy Church and promised her, his protection until the end of time. However, he did not assure them that they will not have failures, and that they will not be persecuted, and her members will not be subject to mistakes. It is our duty, therefore, to support her with our prayers especially by the recitation of the Rosary.

Let us ponder on the 1st Joyful Mystery: The Annunciation of the Lord At the announcement that she would give birth to "the Son of the Most High" without knowing man, by the power of the Holy Spirit, Mary responded with the obedience of faith, certain that "with God nothing will be impossible:" "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word." Thus, giving her consent to God's word, Mary becomes the mother of Jesus. Espousing the divine will for salvation wholeheartedly, without a single sin to restrain her, she gave herself entirely to the person and to the work of her Son; she did so in order to serve the mystery of redemption with him and dependent on him, by God's grace. Pray the: Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s, Glory be...

Novena Prayer to Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary

Prayer: O Immaculate Virgin and Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, in these days of languid faith and triumphant impiety, you have deigned to set your throne as the Mother of Divine Grace. Now, lavish on this world, the treasure of the Heavenly mercies from our throne where you reign so mercifully. O Mary, turn down your eyes of pity towards us too and have mercy on us who are in such need of your help. Show yourself to us also, as you showed yourself to so many, a true Mother of Mercy, while from the bottom of our hearts we greet and invoke you as the Sovereign and Queen of the Most Holy Rosary. Pray the: Hail Holy Queen

DAY 2 - WE PRAY FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH The joy of the Spirit, which was in the heart of Jesus and Mary, is ours in the experience of sincere prayer.

1. We pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit for the leaders of the Church and all the baptized, that we may walk faithfully the way of Jesus Christ.

2. We pray for a deep devotion to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and in our prayer to her know that we are primarily opening our hearts to the God of love.

3. We pray for those who are oppressed by war and poverty, that they may take courage from God who loves us constantly and unconditionally.

Scripture: "Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets". (Luke 6:22-23) Reflection: Jesus' prophesy about persecutions to those who bear His name started nearly the next day after His ascension into heaven. Because as He once stated, the follower is not greater than his master. If Jesus, who was the Son of God, suffered so much torture, even unto death on the cross, what could be expected from those who profess his name? Jesus does not go back on His word; He looks after his people, the Church, enlightening and fortifying her rulers so that they may faithfully and fruitfully encourage their faithful to serve God and accept His will patiently, even unto death. However, as during the past centuries, the Church supported those suffering persecution by prayers, so also in the present time, not less than in the past, we must pray for those, who for the Love of Christ are suffering all kinds of persecution. Therefore, let us have recourse to our heavenly Mother Mary, Help of Christians by praying the Rosary and together with her put ourselves at the service of her beloved Son.

filipinoministry.org

Let us ponder on the 3rd Joyful Mystery: The Nativity of the Lord The Word became flesh so that thus we might know God's love: "In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him." "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." Pray the: Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s, Glory be...

Novena Prayer to Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Prayer: Prostrate at the foot of your throne, O good and glorious Lady, our hearts venerate you amid the sighs and sorrows that overwhelm us. In these our anguishes and troubles, we confidently lift up our eyes to you. And you, as Queen of victories did raise your powerful voice to bless your devout children, have mercy at last on our souls that lie humbled. Have mercy on us, O Queen, have mercy upon us, oppressed beyond measure by miseries and humiliations. You are the terror of demons, defend us from the enemies that beset us. You are the help of Christians, rescue us from the trials in which we so miserably live. You who are our life, overcome death that threaten our souls amidst the dangers to which they are exposed and give us back peace, tranquility, love, and good health. Pray the: Hail Holy Queen

filipinoministry.org

DAY 3: WE PRAY FOR PRIESTHOOD AND CONSECRATED LIFE To our most Holy Mother. To you do we pray first with heartfelt thanks for those who have said YES to the Father. Help them to trust in you and your son, Jesus, in all the challenges that they face. Teach them patience in all things and to accept all that happens and when it happens in God’s time. We join them in total consecration to you. Reclaim us all as you own and mold us in all ways necessary to conform to God’s will. We love you, Mother Mary. Scripture: The Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him in every town and place where he himself were about to come. And He said to them "The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few, pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into His harvest" (Luke 10:1-2) Reflection: After His resurrection Jesus ordered the Apostles to go into the world and make disciples by baptizing them in the name of the Holy Spirit. After the minister of baptism pours water on the child's head and anoints him with Holy Oil, He touches his ears and his mouth. These two symbols mean an invitation to the child to listen to the word of God and proclaim it by his mouth. This is the first call to the Christian to spread God's message. But God's message continues to sound in many Christian hearts calling them to become messengers of His Good News. Unfortunately, due to distractions in their life, very few listen and dedicate themselves to this call. Therefore, let us pray that the Almighty God call many to Priesthood and to Consecrated Life and that our heavenly Mother may help them to accept this wonderful call.

Let us ponder on the 1st Luminous Mystery: The Baptism of the Lord Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan River to John, to be baptized by him. John tried to refuse him with the protest, "I need to be baptized by you, and yet you come to me!" Jesus answered him, "Give in for now, we must do this if we are to fulfill all of God's demands." So, John gave in. After Jesus was baptized, he came directly out of the water. Suddenly, the sky opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descend like a dove, and hover

filipinoministry.org

over him. With that, a voice from the heavens said, "This is my beloved Son. My favour rests on Him." Here, as Christ descends into the waters, the innocent one who became 'sin' for our sake (cf. 2Cor 5:21), the heavens open wide and the voice of the Father declares him the beloved Son (cf. Mt 3:17 and parallels), while the Spirit descends on him to invest him the mission which he is to carry out. (RVM, 21) Pray the: Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s, Glory be...

Novena Prayer to Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Prayer: When we hear how many have received your favours only because they confidently had recourse to you, we feel animated with a new courage to implore your help. You promised St. Dominic that whosoever wants graces will obtain them through the rosary. Behold me, with your rosary in hand call upon you, O Mother for the fulfillment of your maternal promises. You who still multiply wonders to help your children, you who are ever willing to wipe away our tears and soothe our pains, we now pour out our hearts before you and with a lively faith, greet and implore you, O my Mother, Mother dear, Beautiful Mother, Mother most sweet, help us. Mother and Queen of the Most Holy Rosary do no longer delay to hold on your right hand towards us and save us, for you know, delay would only bring us to ruin. Pray the: Hail Holy Queen

filipinoministry.org

DAY 4: WE PRAY FOR THE VIRTUE OF HUMILITY May Almighty God give us compassion and humility in our hearts. Let us be kind, gentle, generous, loving, giving, and forgiving wherever we may go. Allow pride to never get the best of us as You fulfill our dreams. Help us not to have a boastful tongue against our brothers. Let humility invade our souls. AMEN Scripture: My soul glorifies the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God, my Saviour. He looks on his servant in her lowliness; henceforth all ages will call me blessed. The Almighty works marvels for me, Holy is his name! His mercy is from age to age on those who fear him. (Magnificat) Reflection: The fundamental virtue on which God has deemed Mary as the right person to be his Son's mother was humility, as she herself exclaimed, as soon as she stepped in Zachariah's house, humility is the root of all virtues. It was the lack of humility that made Lucifer to be cast out of heaven and dumped into hell. The humble person is always alert to avoid vanity, pride, selfishness and the desire to stand out from among others. The person who is not humble enough to control her pride is always eager to find defects and criticize others, and tries to have the last word in conversations, something that holds us away from God and man. Jesus and Mary are the two pillars of Humility. Let us pray for Mary to help us to imitate her son's humility so that, we may, like them be real servants of mankind.

Let us ponder on the 2nd Luminous Mystery: The Wedding at Cana

The second mystery of light is the first of the signs, given at Cana (cf. Jn 2:1-12), when Christ changes water into wine and opens the hearts of the disciples to faith, thanks to the intervention of Mary, the first among believers. He reveals himself as Lord and miracle worker. Apart from the miracle at Cana, the presence of Mary remains in the background. The Gospels make only the briefest reference to her occasional presence during the

filipinoministry.org

preaching of Jesus (cf. Mk 3:31-5; John 2:12). Yet the role she assumed at Cana in some way accompanies Christ throughout His ministry. The revelation made directly by the Father at the Baptism in the Jordan and echoed by John the Baptist is placed upon Mary's lips at Cana, and it becomes the great maternal counsel which Mary addresses to the Church of every age: "Do whatever he tells you." (Jn 2:5) Pray the: Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s, Glory be...

Novena Prayer to Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Prayer: To whom shall we ever have recourse, if not to you, who are the relief of the wretched, the comforter of the forsaken, and the solace of the afflicted. We confess it, our souls are miserable, overloaded with enormous sins, deserving to burn in hell, unworthy of your graces, but are you not the "hope of the hopeless", the great Mediatrix between man and God, our powerful advocate before the Most High and the refuge of sinners? Say just a single word to your Son on our behalf and He will hear you. Beg of Him, O Mother this grace I so stand in need of (mention your intention). You alone can obtain them for us. You are our only hope, our consolation, our sweetness, our whole life. As we hope so may it be. Pray the: Hail Holy Queen

filipinoministry.org

DAY 5: WE PRAY FOR PURITY OF THE HEART The ever-Virgin Mary was and remains pure in charity, chastity and love of truth and orthodoxy of faith. And that purity is divine because it is inspired by God! Each of us benefits from the purity of Mary, regardless of how difficult it is to be pure in charity, chastity and right belief, IT IS POSSIBLE… We WILL be pure when we adopt the attitude of Our Blessed Lady and seek the divine purity that radiates from Her. By abandoning ourselves to God as She did, we open ourselves to fresh opportunities of achieving purity. (The Virtue of Purity: An Undivided Heart by Msgr Charles M. Mangan) Scripture: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. (Mt.5:8)" "When someone is corrupted by concupiscence of the flesh, he cannot make any spiritual progress. He is unable to do good works. He is a spiritual cripple, fit to be cast aside like an old rag. Have you ever seen patients suffering from a progressive paralysis and unable to help themselves or even to get up? Sometimes they cannot as much as move their heads. In the spiritual order, the same thing happens to people who are lacking in humility and have made a cowardly surrender to lust. They don't see, or hear, or understand anything of primary importance. They are as if paralyzed. They are like a man gone mad". (St. Joseph-Maria. Escrivá, Friends of God: 18) Reflection: One of the main plagues that are destroying society in the present day is, without any doubt, passionate desires, passionate enjoyments. If, in olden times, it was so hard even to certain saints, to control themselves, to the extent that they had recourse to flog themselves or throw themselves among thistles and thorns, how much harder it is to resist and not let ourselves be dragged by the lust-current, that is dominating the world today!! Wherever we go, whether we are on the street, or at home, or sometimes even in Church, we might expose ourselves to all kinds of temptations.

filipinoministry.org

Therefore, let us pray to our Most Pure Heavenly Mother to intercede for us with her divine Son Jesus pour upon us the necessary graces that we may overcome any kind of impurity.

Let us ponder on the 2nd Sorrowful Mystery: The Scourging at the Pillar Jesus knew and loved us each and all during his life, his agony, and his Passion. He gave himself up for each one of us: "The Son of God...loved me and gave himself for me.” He loved us all with a human heart. Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood, his flesh torn into pieces. Jesus endured an incredible amount of pain on our behalf. He endured the scourging at the pillar so we would not have to. For this reason, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, pierced by our sins and for our salvation, “is quite rightly considered as the chief sign and symbol of PURITY. Pure love with which the divine Redeemer continually loves the eternal Father and all the human beings without exception. Pray the: Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s, Glory be...

Novena Prayer to Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Prayer: O Virgin and Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, you who are the daughter of the Heavenly Father, the Mother of the Divine Son, the Spouse of the Holy Spirit and have all power with the most Holy Trinity, must obtain for us this grace so necessary to us, if it be no obstacle to our eternal salvation. (mention the grace you desire)

We ask it of you by Thy Immaculate Conception, by thy Divine Maternity, by thy joys and by their sorrows and by Thy Glories. We ask it by the Heart of your Divine Jesus, by those nine months you did bear him in your womb, by your hardship in life, by His bitter passion and His death on the cross, by His holy name and His most precious blood. We finally ask it by your most sweet heart and your glorious name. O Mary, you are the Star of the Sea, the Powerful Lady, the Queen of Dolours, the Gate of Heaven, and Mother of All Graces. In you we trust, from you we hope everything. You must save us. Pray the: Hail Holy Queen

filipinoministry.org

DAY 6: WE PRAY FOR THE VIRTUE OF MEEKNESS O Jesus, our pride, stubbornness, and lack of faith tagged each thorn as it pierced Your Sacred Head. Our exclusion of spiritual realities tightened the branches around Your Head. Our lack of confidence in Your Mercy and the lukewarmness of our love braided torture into a wreath of unspeakable pain. O Jesus, let us NEVER forget Your love for us all and the reparation You offered the Father for our sake. Let our soul magnify the Lord by humility of heart, purity of mind, and a gentle spirit so that we may overcome pride, worry and resentments, and look forward for an increase in faith. Scripture: "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the land"(Mt 5:5) Blessed are the meek not only those who are meek naturally, but also and especially those who, even though they are naturally fiery and passionate, have obtained a mastery over impatience, anger, the desire of revenge, and all other feelings incompatible with peace of heart "For they possess the land". According to St. Augustine- "the meek" shall hold earthly possessions in peace, being loved and esteemed by all. According to St. Bernard, they shall possess the land of their own hearts, they shall be masters of their own actions (for an angry man is not his own master). According to St. Jerome and the majority of doctors of the Church - they shall possess by right of heritage the land of the living - heaven. And according to the words of David: "They believe to see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living". Reflection: It is a great blessing and benefit, both socially as well as spiritually, for a person whoever he or she might be, to be meek. It could be really hard to an irascible or quick-tempered person to succeed in controlling to perfection his or her temper. But once obtained, it would be a really big achievement to that person. His or her efforts would be really

filipinoministry.org

worthy. The person who possesses meekness to perfection will be able to control the first burst of impatience, to live peacefully with ill-tempered people, to preserve liberty of spirit and an unbroken peace in the storms of daily life. We pray our heavenly Mother Mary to help us obtain such an important virtue for our daily life especially by the recitation of the Rosary.

Let us ponder on the 3rd Sorrowful Mystery: Jesus is Crowned with Thorns It is precisely in the Passion, when the mercy of Christ is about to vanquish it, that sin most clearly manifests its violence and its many forms: unbelief, murderous hatred, shunning and mockery by the leaders and the people, Pilate's cowardice and the cruelty of the soldiers, Judas' betrayal so bitter to Jesus, Peter's denial, and the disciples' flight. However, at the very hour of darkness, the hour of the prince of this world, the sacrifice of Christ secretly becomes the source from which the forgiveness of our sins will pour forth inexhaustibly. Pray the: Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s, Glory be...

Novena Prayer to Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Prayer: O Immaculate Virgin and Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, in these days of languid faith and triumphant impiety, you have deigned to set your throne as the Mother of Divine Grace. Now lavish on this world, the treasure of the Heavenly mercies from Queen of the Most Holy Rosary your throne where you reign so mercifully. Pray the: Hail Holy Queen

filipinoministry.org

DAY 7: WE PRAY FOR THE VIRTUE OF FORTITUDE May we be granted today, the virtue by which we do the right thing, even in the midst of hardship. We ask Thee to consider our need for courage and bravery, so that we may stay strong, to do what is good. You alone know how often, in our lives, many situations arise in which it becomes difficult to do the right thing, even when we know what it is. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. AMEN. Scripture: "Fortitude is the moral virtue that ensures firmness in difficulties and constancy in the pursuit of the good. Fortitude strengthens the resolve to resist temptations and to overcome obstacles in the moral life. (CCC 1808) “The Lord is my strength and my song.” (Ps 118:14) Once an editor of a renowned magazine said to a Catholic friend: "the emphasis that is being put on brotherhood of man doesn't mean much, unless people first recognize the "fatherhood of God." The Catholic then stressed that if a hundred editors like him put emphasis on that thought, they could do much more to reverse the dangerous trends of the day. The editor paused then cracked back: "A hundred or a thousand like me couldn't begin to do what you, Catholics, would accomplish if you wake up and start doing what the Popes ask." The Popes constantly remind and invite us to wake up and take active interest in all problems, social as well as spiritual, of all people and all nations. Reflection: However, we, the majority of Catholics, nowadays lack the virtue of Fortitude. We are not strong enough to resist the temptations of lukewarmness, which might lead us to abandon completely our faith. We need fortitude to give way when we are tired, or feel lazy, or don't want to be bothered. We need fortitude to overcome our fear of fulfilling difficult duties. We need the virtue of fortitude to overcome more delicate obstacles like vanity, impatience, indifference and human respect. We need also fortitude to speak about God without being afraid of what people will say or what they will think of us.

filipinoministry.org

Since the virtue of Fortitude is so important in our life, let us pray our heavenly Mother Mary, to intercede for us with the Holy Spirit to infuse in us this precious virtue. Let us ponder on the 5th Sorrowful Mystery: The Crucifixion and Death of Jesus

The Church is born primarily of Christ's total self-giving for our salvation, anticipated in the institution of the Eucharist, and fulfilled on the cross. "The origin and growth of the Church are symbolized by the blood and water with flowed from the open side of the crucified Jesus.” For it was from the side of Christ as he slept the sleep of death upon the cross that there came forth the “wondrous sacrament of the whole Church.” As Eve was formed from the sleeping Adam's side, so the Church was born from the pierced heart of Christ hanging dead on the cross. Pray the: Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s, Glory be...

Behold me, with your rosary in hand call upon you, O Mother, for the fulfillment of your maternal promises.

DAY 8: WE PRAY FOR THE VIRTUE OF FAITH Thank you, Jesus the Great Mystery. For your life that transcends our understanding, For your presence from which we can never flee. For your resurrection which is never defeated, and for the gift of faith that enables us to trust even in the midst of our doubts and fears. AMEN. - John van de Laar Scripture: "Jesus said to Thomas, "You have believed because you have seen. Blessed are those who have not seen and get to believe”. (Jn 20:29-30) Those who have already reached the faith and those who are on the path to finding it to share alike on the feast in this feast (Epiphany). They participate giving thanks for the gift of faith, as did the Kings who, filled with gratitude knelt before the child. The Church, more aware each year of the vastness of her mission, participates in the feast. How many people there are still who have to be brought to the faith? How many have to be brought back to the faith they have lost? The return, at times, is more difficult than the first conversion to the faith. The Church, however, being aware of the great gift of the incarnation of God, cannot pause. She cannot stop. "She has to seek continually the way to Bethlehem for all men and for all times. (John Paul II Hom. 6 Jan.1979). Reflection: We can freely affirm that the best model of faith was Mary, whose presence in the world was based on faith. This was confirmed by Elizabeth saying, "Blessed art thou who hast believed". The first proof of her faith, after the annunciation was the hiding of her pregnancy from her husband Joseph, although she relied on God to reveal to him this extraordinary event. The third proof was the difficulties she had to face in the delivery of her son, Jesus. Fourth her sudden flight to Egypt; fifth her hidden life at Nazareth; sixth her way to the Calvary; seventh her suffering while assisting her Son dying on the Cross. And finally, she joining the apostles while waiting for the coming of the Holy Spirit.

filipinoministry.org

Let us ponder on the 3rd Glorious Mystery: The Descent of the Holy Spirit The mission of Christ and the Holy Spirit is brought to completion in the Church, which is the Body of Christ and the Temple of the Holy Spirit. This joint mission henceforth brings Christ's faithful to share in his communion with the Father in the Holy Spirit. The Spirit prepares men and goes but to them with his grace, in order to draw them to Christ. The Spirit manifests the risen Lord to them; recalls His word to them and opens their minds to the understanding of his Death and Resurrection. He makes present the mystery of Christ, supremely in the Eucharist, in order to reconcile them, to bring them into communion with God, that they may "bear much fruit." Pray the: Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s, Glory be...

Behold me, with your rosary in hand call upon you, O Mother, for the fulfillment of your maternal promises. You who still Pray for us, multiply wonders to help your children. You who are ever willing to wipe away our tears and soothe our pains, we now pour out our hearts before you and with a lively faith, greet and implore you, O my Mother, Mother dear, Beautiful Mother, Mother most sweet, help us. Mother and Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, do no longer delay to hold on your right hand towards us and save us, for you know, delay would only bring us to ruin. Pray the: Hail Holy Queen

filipinoministry.org

DAY 9: WE PRAY FOR THE VIRTUE OF WISDOM At the end of this journey of prayer together, let us today, turn to Our Divine Father and pray so that we may be granted the gift of wisdom and discernment, to enable us to Understand, Distinguish, Separate and Decide between the good and evil . We pray for the ability to make THE RIGHT judgement for and about others as well as for ourselves according to God’s Will. Scripture: “For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, but suffer the loss of his own soul?” (Mark 8:36) Reflection: "God made you, whoever you are or whatever your circumstances may be, to know Him, love Him, serve Him in this life, so that you may be happy with Him in the next." God gives us our existence, our life, and with it a plan to execute, suitable for our individual and particular ability, but a plan that should, finally, bring us to eternal happiness. However, it depends on us whether to gain the final happiness or not. If we understand our mission planned for us by God and follow it, we secure our future happiness. God has assigned to each and every one of us a mission that should be accomplished only by that particular person it is assigned to. No matter how simple and humble it would be, it is the only thing Jesus expects from us. In His eyes it would be worth as much as the most honourable one, and just for that he gives us our reward of eternal life. Let us ponder on the 5th Glorious Mystery: The Coronation of Mary by the Holy

Trinity The “splendour of an entirely unique holiness” by which Mary is “enriched from the first instant of her conception” come wholly from Christ: she is “redeemed, in a more exalted fashion, by reason of the merits of her Son.”

filipinoministry.org

The Father blessed Mary more than any other created person “in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” and chose her “in Christ before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless before him in love.” Pray the: Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s, Glory be...

(Mention the grace you desire) We ask it of you by Thy Immaculate Conception, by thy Divine Maternity, by thy joys and by their sorrows and by Thy Glories. We ask it by the Heart of your divine Jesus, by those nine months you did bear him in your womb, by your hardship in life, by thy Bitter passion and His death on the cross, by His holy name and His most precious blood. We finally ask it by your most sweet Heart and your glorious name, O Mary, you are the Star of the Sea, the Powerful Lady, the Queen of Dolours, the Gate of Heaven, and mother of all Graces. In you we trust, from you we hope everything. You must save us. Pray the: Hail Holy Queen

Holy Rosary

HOW TO PRAY THE ROSARY

1 While holding the crucifix make the Sign of the Cross and then recite the Apostles Creed.

2 Recite the Our Father on the first large bead.

3 Recite a Hail Mary for an increase of faith, hope and charity on each of the three small beads.

4 Recite the Glory Be to the Father on the next large bead.

5 Recite the Fatima Prayer "O my Jesus" on the large bead.

6 Recall the first Rosary Mystery and recite the Our Father on the large bead.

7 On each of the adjacent ten small beads (also referred to as a decade) recite a Hail Mary while reflecting on the mystery.

8 On the next large bead, recite the Glory Be to the Father followed by the Fatima prayer.

9 Each succeeding decade is prayed in a similar manner by recalling the appropriate mystery, reciting the Our Father, ten Hail Mary’s while reflecting on the mystery, the Glory Be to the Father, and the Fatima prayer.

10 When the fifth mystery is completed, the Rosary is customarily concluded with the Hail Holy Queen, Final Prayer, and the Sign of the Cross.

Sign of the Cross In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty creator of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father almighty. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit,

filipinoministry.org

the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. Our Father Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
