(i) El primer período de su vida tuvo por logro los cimientos de su psicología;
(ii) el segundo, es el desarrollo de las escuelas experimentales de la PI en Viena a cargo de los más conspicuos maestros como los fueron O. Spiel y F. Birnbaum, quienes fueron los encargados de llevar la primera “Escuela Experimental” inspirada en los principios adlerianos. El propósito de este nuevo movimiento pedagógico era contribuir a la formación de una “educación en pro de la comunidad” (Spiel, 1969, 8). No sólo se trasmitían conocimientos sino que procuraba formar estilos de vidas en pro de la colaboración, la participación activa en la resolución de conflictos bajo el respeto de lo diverso;
(Bottome, 1952, 81)

The Adlerian Psychotherapy Encouragement
Andrés Buschiazzo
Dr. Alfred Adler was a person who had and instilled much courage to their
patients. His magna work ran through 3 main channels: psychology, education
and religion. Paraphrasing Dr. Mazzoli Adler’s thoughts has succeeded at
spreading throughout the world and his works have been written in different
languages but not always currents shifts have recognized that their ideas come
from the Individual Psychology (IP) of Alfred Adler.
In this respect, Adler says: "Individual Psychology is as a fruit basket, which
anyone can choose the most like him" (Bottome, 1952, 94). He did not want that
his work will be transformed into something difficult to understand, not intended
to be a hard science but practical and useful common sense to all the different
styles of life (personalities).
Some of their main achievements, following the diagram in Bottome, are
namely:
(i) The first period of his life had as achievements the foundations of
psychology;
(ii) the second is the development of experimental school of the IP in Vienna
from teachers more conspicuous as O. Spiel and F. Birnbaum, who were
responsible for bringing the first experimental school inspired by the
adlerians principles. The purpose of this new educational movement was to
contribute to the formation of an 'education for the Community' (Spiel, 1969,
8). Transmitting not only knowledge but also sought to form lifestyles for
collaboration, active participation in the resolution of disputes under respect
for the diverse;
(iii) and the third, final acceptance of "love your neighbor" as law. After the First
World War and seen the agony of human suffering, raised a new concept to
the circle of the Nietzschean psychologists on his return, which was called
"community feeling”, and in Germanic terms: “Gemeinschaftsgefühl”. One of
his most faithful disciples, Neuer said this term did not exist in the
philosophy treaties, to which Adler quickly replied: "...it is what the world
needs" (Bottome, 1952, 171).
We understand the sense of community as in the following quotation:
"There is a law that unites man to the universe, which always moves in the
same direction and towards a goal that can never be achieved, but that never
changes, and when a man obeys this law and cooperates with it, takes place in
an direction that universal increases welfare, but cooperation with others is the
price you pay for this development. The egocentric goal must be overcome.
Social interest is the sole objective for humanity, and every human being must
8
be educated to it in his childhood, until he becomes as natural as breathing or
the upright posture "(Bottome, 1952.172).
In the book "Religion and Adlerian Psychology" which was the result of an
exchange of letters (1930 - 1933) between Alfred Adler and Ernst Jahn a
Lutheran pastor, is mentioned that the feeling of community is the target
guiding, made it ideal, constantly unreachable, but which ever calls us, points
the way and the meaning of life. In this regard, Dr. Pagani understands the
community feeling as if it was an absolute truth, direct references to "Philosophy
as if" by Hans Vaihinger which considers that "truth is the most useful error".
Adler developed the art of encouraging patients from the resources they had, by
promising to optimize their potential, helping them to have courage in which
may become. The need for everyone to find a place within the group and have a
secure place. When we see people going against the community, its because
they are discouraged since they assume they are worth less and can less than
others. The behavior has a purpose and to understand the subject we must first
think about the goals which guide their lives and encourages them on those
things that can be potentialized. When we are with a patient in the first
interview, both in counseling psychotherapy, the first thing we must do is call
and listen to the positive qualities, we cannot solve problems if we start from
dysfunctions. We must do through the patients` resources.
Dreikurs said that "every child needs to be continuously encouraged as much
as a plant needs water" (Dreikurs, 1964, 29), and in the rest of the subjects also
useful the breathing, that is "empower".
The sense of equality is a prerequisite for developing conjunctive emotions
(those that connect positively to people) and to get a place on the basis of
democratic and respect always.
Once, Adler told a patient who suffered from terrible shyness, the story of a
rabbit that loved his own and when a stranger and a wild-looking dog
approached the door of his home, the rabbit showed his teeth and growled as
strong that visitors left terrified. To which Adler ends by saying: "You see that
even a poor rabbit can get, if it is provoked!" (Bottome, 1952, 81).

The traffic accidents from an Adlerian perspective
Juan Luis Chávez The first car was patented more than a century ago in Berlin, Germany 29 January im 1896. It is undeniable the importance of the car for each of us. Everyday every citizen uses the road somehow. The negative aspect of this are the numerous traffic sinisters which have become a sanitary challenge and one of the major problems of Public Health of the modern society. Last century more than 30 million people died due to traffic collisions;2000 die everyday and 50000 people enter into a hospital due to this reason. Nowadays it has become the first cause of death of youngsters under 35 years old in our country , and what it makes matters worse, this problema is increasing and in next 10 years the prediction is that 1 person out of 5 will suffer a traffic collision. That is the reason why this topic becomes so relevant. Besides we should bear in mind the economic cost that it represents to the country( 900 million dollars). Experts look for an explanation in four areas: -the car. -the design and conservation of the roads. -the norms and surveillance. - and last but not least the behaviour of the driver and all his psychophysical abilities. 95 % or more of the causes of the traffic collisions are due to wrong decisions taken by the users of the roads. People believe that the terrestrial collisions a real risk for the society , though the majority of the inhabitants have not internalized the concept of security in the traffic which would allow us to develop behaviours of prevention. There are differences among the opinion of common people and experts due to the fact that the responsibility of the driver has been highlighted. The responsibility of other agents has not be considered in the same way. Another aspect that is reflected upon by public opinion is whether highlight repression or education for the change of these behaviours. The Adlerian Psychology can make important contributions to diminish the situation of traffic collisions in our country and that is the reason why we decided to begin the investigation in this topic. One of the addressing modes of the Adlerian Psychology is education and puts the emphasis in psychohygiene where the feelinf of community acquires a scientific validity paraphrasing Alfred Adler. It is important to work this topic in the field of education introducing it in the curricula since the first years of education in order to make students become aware of the responsibility of taking care of themselves in the public road in order to form conscious and responsible citizens in the use of the collective space. We have put into practice these postulations in public schools in Montevideo, taking into consideration their knowledge about the traffic and its signals, their experiences in collisions of relatives utilizing techniques of telling stories and drawing. We confirmed that the majority of them had a relative who had suffered a car collision and that this situation and the transgressions to the traffic laws are experienced as natural by them. Children have an idea about traffic laws but
14
they do not respect them. That is the reason why we utilized different strategies such as: -games online which present two components: the didactic and the playing aspects. -questionaires of knowledge about traffic laws which were administered to students and family. -visit of organizations of motoboys, who gave testimony about the use of the motorbike, being this means of transport the mostly used in the territory where the investigation took place. -presentation of videos about the quality of helmets and the consequences to the driver and the person that goes with him in case of not use of the helmets in a car collision. The use of the helmet is a vital element in a car collision. In our investigation this ítem bécame extremely important because in the territory investigated many people drove their motorbikes without helmet. These strategies have the objective of transmitting children the importance of respecting the traffic laws. These experiences and contents try to promote a change, encouraging children to transmit values and new ways of living, more generous to themselves and others, reminding the three vital tasks of human beings postulated by Alfred Adler: love, work and community, being the last one essential for the transformation of our society.

well, but lot of bad at the same time: made to forget more than a century of
introspective psychology. (1)
One of the elements that psychoanalysis contributed to cover was fear,
replaced by anguish (an unconscious fear).
Of course psychoanalysis also paid the price that his anguish construct was
returned to philosophy in particular from Kierkegaard, Heidegger and Sartre (2).
It is always good to consider the first words that the Bishop of Rome once
elected addresses the parishioners. In the case of John Paul II, his words were:
"Do not be afraid".
It seemed until then, a feeling forgotten that served as a lid to others deepest
feelings in a topical sense in full agreement with Freudian fiction (3). It failed to
take into account the gnoseological or epistemological premises formulated by
Fatone (4) "it's a risk confusing schemes with reality itself ".
Old general psychology texts, such as Pradines and Wolf, denounced over a
half century ago that has finished studying the death for fear. This would lead to
an anthropological study of psychology, which is nothing more than cultural
psychology, to see the belief in zombies in Haitian Voodoo.
The psychological, anthropological and political side has always been working
with fear. The "Communist Manifest" of Marx and Engels, begins with this
statement: "A specter is haunting Europe ...."
Nearly all that precedes, was protected in science. Therefore Anatole France
said, "Without the dream there is no science, no wisdom ... the science is good
because it frees us from the bondage of ignorance and error and teaches us to
act as the great Lucretius and trample the vain terrors of the miser Acheron "(6).
The teacher of my youth, the great skeptic ended up being a credulous of
science, like Freud when he wrote his naive, outdated and powerless essay
"The Future of an Illusion". They stated that "science is not an illusion". Which
good would come to the great and ill (somatically) elder to read Lewis Carrol,
mainly where it says that "life without dreams is like a tale told by an silly
mathematician". It is known by all to be seeing identificatory figures that Freud
as a child wanted to be Napoleon, then filled in the French Academy, the
armchair of Anatole France and when his fame had not yet clambered, looked
like William James, who took without quoting it, the tripartite division of
20
personality. I do not want to fall into the comparison M. L. von Franz (7) when
exposes that Kepler explained the three dimensions of space basing in the Holy
Trinity.
Fear is emotional, but one of the most evident is the cognitive. When a new
idea comes, brings with it the potential of colliding with our conceptual schemes
and lead to a cognitive conflict and if all goes well, the conceptual change (8).
Separate us from the sense of community brings always a fear, whether in a
conscious or unconscious level (9).
Which are the most common fears? They are fear for the unknown, to others, to
ourselves, to lose a job or not being able to perform it ....
The Buddhist legend account that Siddartha's father tried to make his son to live
in a bubble so he did not know fear. One day he left the palace and found an
old man, sick man and dead man. They concluded that it was impossible not
getting old, gettting sick and not dying.
Also "The Arabian Nights" with a whole pre-Islamic folklore warns about the
harmful effects of fear in the total personality, ie, both physically and
somatically. Says one of the legends that the plague meets a pilgrim who was
going to Mecca and asked about his task to which he responds: I'll go to
Baghdad to kill 5,000 people. When they meet again, and the plague has
fulfilled his task, this dialogue occurs: 'You said you were going to Baghdad to
kill 5,000 people, and you killed 50,000.
-I did what I said I was going to do, killed 5,000 people, the other died of fear ....
Fear and violence (these contraphobia) were interpreted by Elias Canetti:
"Broken glass doors and kicked sunken windows would mean the destruction of
all that separates. Anyway in the more stupid acts, primitive and unmotivated, is
expressed the need to adhere to something, no matter what.... "(15).
Christian Bernard (10), the pioneer of heart transplants says he never saw a
dying man with fear. So I'm sure the Franciscan Mamertus Menapache when he
says "you can only take that to which you hold on", was inspired by the great
heretic who was Meister Eckhart who had written: "burn in hell more than that
part of you that holds to life".
The teacher Neil (12) questioned by Reich's son right in the funeral of his father
answered the question: "Are you afraid of dying?" with this affirmative negation:
"No, I have fear of not living".
Yet it is necessary to consider that fear is not totally negative, it is also a
warning signal that prevents and protects us from violence (14).
21
From our Adlerian psychology teaches us to always see behind the façade, we
can infer that behind the fear of death is the fear of life.
Compare for a moment the fears trought the three major tasks of life which
Adler enunciated: (a) social life, (b) work, and (c) love.
Today most of the reasons for consultation lies in interpersonal problems: fear
of the relationship with the other.´
The fear of work, cause of the old Sunday neurosis, now in disuse. It might be
for the anguished of the work and the other pole is true: the lack of jobs.
Regarding love, tremulously we wonder if we can get it, and in that case, then
keep it.
Its always cause for cognitive conflict between those who begin in Adlerian
Psychology when we mark that according to Bottome (13), Adler used to add a
fourth job: art. This leads us to wonder if we have the courage to be creative, in
other words, revolutionary or transgressors.
From Adler's latest book written with Pastor Jahn, there is a fifth task, which
closes the Pentagon: the spiritual. The latter is expressed in sense of
community which necessarily leads to peace and the absence of fear. It's a bet
on the psychology of courage, even if only paraphrasing Adler again: "Have the
courage to be imperfect".
A starting point for psychotherapy of fear, is trying first not to harm or
retraumatizing, as Adler taught, in their first counseling, lies in the
recommendation of Servan-Schreiber (16) "Since it is impossible to act on the
cause of the anxiety we try to combat its effects. About Fear we can act directly:
who goes to a surgery 99% of people who have suffered this operation have
come alive. But above all the idea of non-existence, the only way to escape is to
turn the head. The action changes the ideas and seems to be the only available
therapy".

Tears them down,

No
diagnóstico diferencial, siempre inexacto y siempre cambiante.

The role of the teacher
Adriana Naso
The role of the educator is being a facilitator in the process of building
knowledge, nevertheless due to the historical momento we are the stablished
debate is permissiveness vs. Authoritarianism. From an adlerian point of view
and following R. Dreikurs ideas who dedicated all his life to the elaboration of
methods to teach educators, in a classroom where each student feels part of a
community and where the basis of the relationships is mutual respect
punishment or repression or permissiveness do not make sense. Another
element to take into consideration is to have a reflective practice which may
optimize results in the academic and pedagogical aspects becoming into a key
element to avoid stagnation or what it is even worse, intelectual indifference.
The reflection is defined by Johnson as reasoning and it represents the complex
ways in which teachers conceptualize, build explanations and answer to the
social interactions and meanings that are shared among students, teachers,
parents and clerical workers inside and outside the classroom. This reflection
helps understand why teachers teach the way they do.
The teacher becomes not only in a model of identification for students but in
promoters of mental health as well.
Since many years ago Gheiler has developed what has been called analitic
discussion of cases and he obtained positive results in the institutions where
this took place. His method consists of generating coordinations between
teachers and an analist to discuss about certain students. The instruction is to
try to understand them from the intelectual and experiential points of view
analizing what occurs in the classroom specially the relationship teacher-
student. This experience has provoked a great impact in the teachers who
underwent it because it makes them lose their omnipotence, which enables
more authentic relationships based in a better recognition about the other and a
true encounter with the own subjectivity.
Empathy comes from “sympathos” which means feels with. However sympathy
is not only a question of putting in someone else`s shoes. It is connected with
the idea of locating in an optimal distance in relation to the student, achieving
the understanding him but he cannot be confused with him. This will enable an
adequate relationship teacher-student.
The concept of role that each student assumes in the group allows us to
understand that the attitudes and behaviours of them within the groups do not
refer to individual situations but they are referred to the groupal process and the
relationship with the institution. In a group that communicates well the roles are
28
changeable. The leader represents the group strength who tends to the
fulfillment of the task. The saboteur represents the resistance to the change in
the group. The scapegoat represents the neglected aspects the group has about
itself. The spokespeerson represents what the group feels in a specific
situation. Although educators are not poets nor artists in a strict way they have
something in common with them: the commitment of helping students to
develop their potential.
Adler was always worried about psychohygiene or prevention because we look
for affection in all psychic fact. Gardner state3s that education in the future
should focus in the individual(similar to say that education should be more
concerned about lifestyle than in the differential diagnosis, always changeable
and not exact at all. It is necessary to help develop all the intelligences in order
to reach this objective, respecting all the styles of learning. This makes me
reflect upon the importance affection has in the relationship teacher-student for
the achievement of a greater efficacy in the process of teaching-learning.
All in all, being a teacher implies being generous. The students of the School of
Barbiana state that: “ knowledge is only useful when we give it. Teacher is the
one who has no cultural interest when he is alone”. Our task is to teach, form,
intervene in others and in that process teacher and student will change
unfailingly, so the significant process of learning would have been reached
contributing with the enrichment of their lives and personality. Last but not least
an element which appears as fundamental in the process of teaching –learning
is the warm acceptance of the student as he/she is, feeling positive and
unconditional respect to him/her, empathizing with his/her feelings.

ella, tenemos sensibilidades distintas.
comenzar a trabajar pregunto si alguien quería comentar algo.
desconsoladamente, no quería hacerlo.
Tal vez a

Early recollections and memories in Adlerian group therapy for people with
disabilities
Bernardo Salinas
This paper seeks to reflect on group psychotherapy experience with disabled
people made. The two intervention groups are composed of adults of both
sexes who have cerebral palsy , having also motor difficulties, and psychiatric
disorders. This bird's eye presentation of patients, is necessary but insufficient.
Necessary for the reader would be brought minimally in the work context but
insufficient at a time because the emphasis is on disability and this, in my
opinion, the great Error holding private logic of our society over these people. In
the past and in the present, there has been debate about which terms to use,
what is the "label" most appropriate to mask our lack of sense of community,
"Talk about the name, it is very complicated. Those who are in this situation and
who we are not in it, we have different sensitivities. On the issue of
discrimination is an aspect language that today, thankfully, is taken into
account. Since language can increase discriminatory attitudes and social
fragmentation. Obviously, there is something definitive. At one point in history, it
was thought that the best term was another. According to what we discussed
with the organizations, the word that best describes the problem is "disabled".
They expressed that "disabilities" means nothing, because we all have as
individuals, the six billion people on planet Earth we have different abilities.
Therefore, by not discriminating, not saying anything. Naturally, the term
"handicapped" ultimately, is saying that the person is worth less than the rest.
Therefore, to speak of "persons with disabilities" does not discriminate but
identifies the presence of a different element. ". (Project of the House of
Representatives.) We are all different and equal as it has expressed in his
seminars Dr. Wes Wingett, and it is this view of life, in which the difference in
my fellow man is accepted, which I use to guide my work.
The psychotherapy group appears in the first instance as a peer group where
unlike other places where social order imposing a preset, have options to
decide how they want to be together. Not only seeks to create an environment
of trust but also one the most democratic as possible. This was decided by all
as we wanted to work with than rules, with what care and in these early
decisions are redistributed the exercise of power, as they are usually treated as
children (even children should not be treated as well) and not as adults able to
seize their realities. Group work involves four stages which take the work of
Dreikurs. " We can distinguish four phases in every uncovering and
interpretative form of psychoterapy. They are, 1) Relationship: the
establishment and maintenance of a proper therapeutic relationship. 2)
Analysis: which implies investigation of dynamics, leading to a understanding of
the patient, his personality and his problems. 3) Interpretation (...) Reorientation
37
and re-education.". (Dreikurs, 6/7). One of the resources to be used are the
early recollections and secondarily, the use of significantly marked memories of
affection.
As the sessions went by, was making visible as much of the prejudice and
discrimination that are targeted to transit the city, were played between them in
the group and the organization (which are) to the group. A construct that allows
me to think this is the family atmosphere and especially two of them: the
hopeless atmosphere and atmosphere of compassion. During a session I
proposed to work with early recollections, after briefly explain the slogan several
members of the group provided a memory of childhood, did a vote and choose
the one most like the group. The story was, "My mother had bought chocolates,
we gave one to each and keep the box above the fridge. I got on top of the
fridge and grab one. My mother realizes it and tells my brothers had put rat
poison in the chocolates and who not eat than not going to have a tummy ache.
Came to me excruciating pain in the belly. "This woman over thirty years had
this early recollection that happened along time ago with intense emotion, as it
are very recent. He shared with the group how it felt, despair, fear of dying,
literally trembling legs. When asked about the self-image of an emptiness in the
world, tears and happiness. The heteroimagen is that others were concerned,
why not put out the chocolates from there? The cosmoimagen is chaos. Ask the
group to share what they liked about this story to choose it (they had
contributed eight early memories being elected who explicitly showed fear and
pain), there was silence and began to speak of gluttony as sin, the antics
children, someone mentioned a story he heard from a robbery and told her
about the poison to make her bad. At this point I talk to woman she probably
thought that she could die for something minimal as a hottie, he saw other
concerned but unable to take care of her and the world was chaotic, unsafe,
one could die for a prank. This patient thinks that if she was a mother would not
do that and visibly excited recalled the death of a brother. I turn to the group
and tell them that they had chosen this memory between multiple and
remember some of that reflected them, maybe they sometimes felt fear and
guilt about disability as if they had committed a serious crime that should be
punished, probably thought they could not support them other people and the
future was presented as chaotic, unmanageable. I turned to the woman and
thanked her for sharing with us the memory that helped us think so.
I asked the group about what they could give back to the woman to encourage
her, and emerged much that now we could serve as tools to understand how we
see reality and work our lifestyles in the future. Then I undertook to try to
understand them, and respect them and would not give anything that can hurt
them . As support elements they talked about, maturity and a word that I found
transformative: growth. asked what kind of growth as they are all adults, and
they are "grown up" and among some laughs they said it was a mental growth,
life changing, accept things as they come. The session ends on a relaxed and
jovial. At the next session, at the beginning when I ask if someone wants to say
38
something appeared topics as work, money, independence and discrimination.
The atmosphere without hope, "is extremely contagious ... (and) demoralized
parents are often unable to give encouragement to their own children (Dewey,
in Nikelly, 1976, p. 43)" (Titze, 1982), and in turn the atmosphere of
compassion, "is sometimes destructive effects because it induces the child to
feel sorry for himself, to lose heart and feel (in the negative) being" special
"(Dewey, in Nikelly, 1976, p.44 ) (Titze, 97/106). Disabled people with whom I
work experience such atmospheres (there are some people who live with
families who encourage they, but not the majority) and I think this ends up
crystallizing an idea that has circulated several times by the groups and is to be
useless. The following vignette is a group other than the one mentioned before.
In a before session conducted with elements of psychodrama they worked one
of the tasks of life: love. The following week, before entering the room one of
the group, a woman (which we will call S) asked me to speak privately after the
meeting. When starting to work wondering if anyone wanted to say something.
All speak about the dramatization they had made, which has not gone well, that
next time if I was going to do better. S recalled how some years ago while in
another organization had participated in a play, when there were little to go on
stage was very bad, is distressed and crying inconsolably, not wanted to.
Somebody convinced her and could act and at the end of the play (a comedy)
the public gave her a standing ovation. When asked how she felt said, "people
looked at you and paralyze you." From this came the issue of failing his family
(which is heavily influenced by the family atmospheres cited above) "If I fail I
agree with them." The group talked about what happened, then introduced the
topic of normality ( feel they aren´t ) and then appears labor, an issue that is of
great concern to them. Among complaints and claims of several members on
this issue, S mentions that he feels bad about it, useless. I take this last feeling
and say, " is most likely it, that day when you would acted you felt useless, you
was failing his family, this feeling was very strong and you was distressed . But
you took courage and went to scene , and could act, transmit the joy of comedy,
and was applauded by all. Maybe sometimes feels useless but you have the
strength to overcome it creatively ". As she said this she smiled, seemed a
reflection of the recognition, and when I mentioned I could handle their feelings
of worthlessness sprouted some tears and asked permission to go to the
bathroom. In his absence I told the group that the companion had been very
brave to share her tears with us, on her return i communicate this, her courage
to share with all your emotions and thanked him for it, his face lit with a smile .
After the session I said I had some free time so we could talk and she said it
was not necessary in the group had already resolved. This last example does
not qualify as early recollection but seemed to combine a strong emotion to an
image, "First of all, on an emotional level, govern us as privileged witness of our
emotions. Emotions known or hidden, subtle or violent. A storage memory is the
fact and emotion. Remember, this is the thrill of an experience. Enjoy a memory
call to his memory and find it is tied to an emotion. Then, our memories are our
39
historical reference. They say what we were, how we were and why we were at
the same time make us understand why and how we are now. From our past
experiences and the feelings that accompany it we run our lives "(Estrade, 2).
In the first example the early recolletion of a person becomes input for group
work, a kind of empathetic is generated by the individual and is echoed in the
group, resulting in a subtle way, perhaps archaic sense of community : take the
place of the other. Some of the lifestyle is expressed, marking perhaps a
guideline (obviously you need a more detailed work using other tools such as
family constellation, dreams and daydreams, goals etc. Deeper order). There is
thus a heuristic process where the group provides positive elements for use
with the emotional and ideational imprint of memory yet is reflected and
therefore these solutions are for them too. Share the essence of remembering
and talking to the person spoken to themselves being listened from a different
role, that of giving and need encouragement, the courage to recognize in others
to share and who allow themselves to dare look options for change.
In the second example the group experience facilitates the appearance of a
memory that is not early (perhaps rooted in some of the early years of life
which we have no news yet) but if heavily loaded with emotion "We are now
prepared to understand that all memory - an experience that always has an
interest for the individual and not be rejected outright - is the result of
developing a life style print on the" I ". This is true not only for better or worse
memories preserved, but also flawed and difficult memories, as well as for
those whose verbal expression has disappeared without a trace more emotional
tone or an attitude, which leads to a relatively important notion, namely that the
process of psychic movement in their march towards the goal of perfection can
approach to understanding the memory viewer if the sector are adequately
enlightened intellectual, affective and the attitudes. "(Adler, 199). These
ideations / emotions from your past, feel weird, failed, seemed to relate to the
current of feeling useless (the "useless" fails in her task and is seen as rare) so
I can think of a strong sense of inferiority that torture today as it did in the past.
But now we can make sense of what he lived, (she felt useless) and most
importantly we can together show an achievement and strength she
misestimate for his feelings of inferiority. Adlerian psychology is a psychology of
use and positive at once, and so I show to S if in the past she could overcome
that feeling of worthlessness now she can do it too, she smiles and I have the
assurance that the interpretation was correct . Appear tears when speaking of
his creativity, she is absent now from this new scenario for a moment, like in
the past she was absent, in that other . By highlighting the positive side of his
tears in his absence, the group took an accomplice to amplify the weight of my
pointing out that what you feel is right, no one will judge or force as in the past,
but simply shows the positive from it and you can use to your advantage when
you want. The finishes closing thank this new memory that has now, which is
revalued by simply being herself, human, imperfect. From that moment has
options to deal with their feelings of inferiority, you can choose the memory of
40
when a new one was afraid to act or where it has courage and is accepted as
is.
Whether it's an early recollection or common memory can be used
therapeutically in a group considering the appropriate timing and above all
respect for our patients.

Dolor como ficción
Alejandra Yarza
“El corazón alegre mejora la
salud;el espíritu abatido seca los
huesos” Proverbios 17:22
A mayor agitación emocional mayor desequilibrio físico.

Pain as fiction
Alejandra Yarza
"The happy heart improves health;the dejected spirit dries the bones" Proverbs 17:22
The hypothesis to regard pain as fiction is mainly inspired Vaihinger’s developments on the concept of fiction (in whom Adler was basing theoretical body part) and the contributions of neuroscience that have been directed to the study of pain.
The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP, 1979) has defined pain as "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage described in terms of the same". If pain exceeds three months duration we consider it chronic. In this regard, it has been considered that as pain persists gradually becomes a disease in itself, independent of the etiology that have triggered. This aspect is not less because over time the person adopts sick behaviors that contribute to amplify and perpetuate his symptomatology.
Fiction is an idea that, although it hasn’t it parallel with reality helps us to treat with it. Being a mental structure, not due to objective reasons, the fiction is subjective and unconscious and fundamentally is functional to the individual goals set.
In patients with pain, often used a Pain Multiaxial Valuation, which explores their physical, psychosocial and behavioral dimensions. Adlerian’s Perspective provides appropriate tools for exploration in these last two dimensions.
The psychosocial dimension implies that we will try to know the patient's current living conditions, how he live his pain, what beliefs he have about himself and your lifestyle as guide support and guide of personality’s characteristics.
The behavioral dimension brings us closer to the function and goal that has pain for the individual, what behaviors generated to show his pain and what resources he has to confront or resigned to it.
The pain is by nature a challenge, a vital problem that put in danger the subject's sense of superiority and integrity of the self. It goes against their expansion and social interest, suffering retracts individual upon himself and puts he as forced actor of a scene that he expect embody others. The history of the individual's pain brings us closer to the style with which he has learned to cope
46
with situations of inferiority. In the description of the physical pain that commonly appears comparing fiction expresses: "it's as if ...".
But this expression also speaks of substitution expression of intent to develop and manage the lived, so the physical pain could be considered a function that helps to express the emotional pain.
In this sense, Naomi Einsenberger, University of California, has studied the relationship between physical pain and social pain. For several years she studies the impact of marginality and social rejection, and has discovered that the pain that generates social or emotional rejection is experienced as similar to physical pain and would be processed by the same regions of the brain (mainly previous cortex of cingulate and previous insula).
His research suggests that individuals describe their experiences of social rejection, loss or abandonment using terms that refer to physical pain to convey their feelings. "Can the experiences of social rejection or loss actually cause pain or pain associated with these social experiences simply a convenient metaphor? (2012).
Solidarity to this research in neuroscience, assumptions concerning the Adlerian hypotheses relating to dialect of organs similarly maintained integrative perspective.. It is the outside world impacting on the individual and beyond what aspect target take that impact, whole organism resonates throughout the body configured as a unit. "By the autonomic nervous system irritation is transmitted according to the individual disposition and organic peculiarities. Their bodies begin to respond. Irritation always excites the whole body, though only we can see the excitement in those places where is most clearly manifested "(1934).
Another point of agreement between Einsenberguer and Adlerian theory refers to the importance of the sense of community. In his research it affirms that individuals who have better social support and dedicate more time to his relationships show a reduction in the activity of the previous cingulate and insula. Also, individuals with anxiety, which they tend to worry about the rejection of others, or have lower self-esteem show activation growth in these areas in situations of social exclusion.
As Adlerians, we know that our apperceptions determine how we influence external circumstances and according to those our organism will try to reestablish a lost balance. It may happen that we get away from the problems of life, it may happen that we avoid, that we confront or paralyze us. Anyone is the response it will obey in the lifestyle of each individual. If the individual has no confidence in order to solve these problems in the useful side feel threatened in his safety. The pain may thus be considered as a form of action "whenever there is a reason, and precisely when necessary to protect the feelings of own personality threatened, painful attacks manifest" (Adler, 1918)
In his work "The Meaning of Life", Adler raises some statements that partly continue the proposals outlined in "Study of organ inferiority". For him "the

triumph over adversity, then is the fundamental law of life" (1935). All bodily functions are at the service of preserving the organism and resistance to external factors that may be considered aggressive. This happens also in the psyche that is continuously exposed to feelings of inferiority, and according to them constantly searches overcome.
The adaptation to the external world can be explained by the following sequence: to more sense of inferiority, greater tendency to overcome and greater emotional agitation. To more physical imbalance greater emotional turmoil. This physical imbalance generates a transitory adaptive change for the organism ( for example acute pain officiates as "alarm" and colaborates with self-preservation). If these changes remain can be thought of as resulting from the subject's lifestyle that allow the individual to withdraw from the problem which must be challenged. In the latter case the chances of locking symptom in the value of the individual private logic is quite high (the case of chronic pain and the difficulty of treating and alleviating of the same one).
It is also interesting to consider this sequence in reverse: a body disability can be generated a feeling of inferiority that generates mental tension and prevent value the world as the setting to which having adapted. "The central and peripheral nervous system, plays a prominent role in this action inclusive, since, in collaboration with the vegetative system, can raise both bodily and spiritually the individual's overall functional value thanks to the unique training capability that is inherent "(Adler, 1935).
Put into practice these guidelines, they allow a comprehension and action of the therapist and patient of the pain process. By exploring the psychosocial and behavioral dimensions of pain should not lose sight investigate situations in the biography of the individual can be translated as affronts to their superiority and safety, and we might call "painful" losses, challenges, abandons, between others. Also we will investigate the concept of self, others, the world, what goals impose these conceptions on the individual, for what ways has been able (or not) to achieve these goals.
In our work, according to the lines here raised, the therapeutic strategy will happen for discovering the purpose of pain, strengthen the sense of community and social interest, return the courage to face the problems of life and to work those apperceptions painful that may be circuit feeding the pain circuit.
