appropriate for the coming years.
However, there are many other aspects which we need to reflect as Individuals and collecvely as
Team to ensure that we connue to drive sustainable growth in terms of revenue and profitability. The
key focus areas for deliberaons as we start planning for FY-22 are a) Strengthening Internal

Teamwork c) Execuon excellence/efficiency d) Strengthening Quantave consumer evidence (Data
Driven and evidence-based decision making) e) Forecasng accuracy (Across the company) f) Process
adherence or flagging up issues when there are process deviaons g) Managerial judgement h)

The COVID-19 pandemic hampered the tradional mode of promoonal acvies. And, we had to find a way
to reach out to specific target group in a new and effecve way!
With ongoing seasons of various crops, a perfect answer to this challenging uncertainty was by the formaon
of ASHA group and project designed under the same name.
Theme of this project was to hand over hope to one another with a digital twist. ASHA group was all about
bringing in rays of hope amongst team, channel, and consumers digitally. The project aimed at connecng to
target group via digital mode, making effecve use of database available at our end.
The campaign was flagged off with region-specific COVID-19 awareness video along with product
promoons. This was followed by a series of region-specific tesmonial videos & product promoonal videos
(informaonal and animated) in respecve regional languages. Team communicated the features,
advantages, and benefits of each product in creave and informave manner to imprint the brand in the
minds of target group. The video phase was followed by effecve rounds of IVR calls. Cherry on the top was
the fact that Project Asha was completely an in-house iniave led under the auspices of Mr. Ajay Juneja
(Business Head – VC) scking to all SOP and brand guidelines. Asha team received good response for all the
iniaves towards supporng field team to maintain and expand our brand presence in key geographies
irrespecve of the challenges popped up.

SummerProjectonPrerakEffectiveness
Prerak being brand ambassadors for our brand, it was quintessenal to understand the effecveness of Preraks on
board. We designed a summer project for this task and assigned two interns from IRMA, Anand for driving the survey.
Project was curated to measure the Prerak effecveness under Awareness, Usership, Influence, Engagement and
Expectaon to achieve a 360-degree understanding of the program.
The 45-day project was in virtual mode considering the pandemic situaon. We touched upon 21 Prerak farmers per
intern each day and covered 1395 samples across 16 states and 150 districts. Project was helmed by Ajay Juneja,
Business Head – Vegetable Crops and interns were mentored by respecve Crop Manager.
This project proved to be a great example of close knied collaboraon and co-ordinaon between Interns, Markeng
team and Sales Team, as together they ensured quality findings in the sample size covered. thKey findings of the project shared on 10 August 2020, helped our team to understand the gaps and gains of Prerak

In the midst of Covid-19 crisis, it was challenging for our field team to reach out to farmers. Keeping in mind
the safety and security of front-line staff, we distributed face shields to all field team members for safe
uninterrupted iniaves or roune work. Moreover, we ensured connuous to-and-fro communicaon,
highlighng the precauonary measures & extending all necessary help as per need. As part of our Safety
iniaves, we sent a COVID-19 awareness message to all our Farmers/Channel Partners/Employees.
COVID-19 forced us to change the regular mode, how we work with farmers. We were re-routed to reach to
farmers by means of digital iniaves like virtual field days, Prerak farmer field visits, reaching farmers with
the help of our Prerak farmers and IVR calls. Despite the challenges thrown in, our FDO's have done more than
33000 farmer registraons along with more than 5000 acvies and sales team conducted more than 500
Prerak field visits and more than 100 Prerak engagement acvies.
We conducted a “Sales Training”programme, to support the sales team to work towards the set goals. Key
objecve was to movate team to fulfil the set objecves & to develop specific skills to perform the assigned
tasks effecvely. The phase 1 of training program which was undertaken region wise, was completed for 6
teams in first half. In this phase, we covered 112 front end staff virtually. The average me spent on each
program was approx. 5 hours. This interacon helped team to align the FDO army in line with the CONFLUX
2021 goals.
Kudos to team for the all the iniaves taken during this challenging situaon!

Thrips are damaging pests in chilli worldwide. They can cause damage directly by feeding on leaves, fruits, or
flowers, indirect damage by transferring and eventually decreases the yield by 50 to 90% Thrips also cause
viruses, especially tomato spoed wilt virus (TSWV). In India, most of researchers who works on chilli thrips
do field screening to idenfy thrips resistant chilli lines under natural condion. The drawback of screening
under natural infested condion may provide escapes and the true resistance may get overlooked. Whereas
very limited informaon is available for screening under arficial/greenhouse condion. Keeping this in view,
we have standardized efficient phenotyping protocol under arficial condions which is pre-requisite for
successful resistance development and to idenfy true resistance which is otherwise not feasible to full
extent under natural condions.

media such as FM Radio & TV were also used publicize millet hybrids. WhatsApp, SMS & Voice Blast
campaigns were hugely successful in terms of reach. We were able to reach about 17 mes to our target
farmers during millet season. Facebook campaign was equally successful in terms of reach as it able to
generate about 32.4 lakhs impressions against planned 19.5 lakhs impression. As per sampling strategy we
distributed 2100 samples mainly focusing on re-introduced hybrid 4311 and new hybrid 7711 (Launch in
FY'22).
Based on sampling and product fitment we developed region wise PDA Strategy. PDA strategy helped team to
focus on core geography as well as hybrid to create strong plaorm for coming year 2021. With successful roll
out of PDA strategy with region and well execuon resulted in achievement of 108% of targeted PDA. More

SUPPLY CHAIN UPDATES
IPM Iniaves & Trainings to our Out Grower Farmers
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is an eco-friendly approach aims at keeping pest populaon at below
economic threshold levels by employing all available alternate pest control methods and techniques such as
cultural, mechanical and biological with emphasis on use of bio-pescides and pescides of plant-origin. The
use of chemical pescide is only advised as a measure of last resort when pest populaon in the crop crosses
economic threshold levels (ETL). IPM helps in maximizing crop protecon with minimum input costs,
minimizing polluon in soil, water and air reducing occupaonal health hazards, conserving ecological
equilibrium and reducing pescide residue loads
@SeedWorks we train & encourage our Coon out grower farmers pracce IPM through monitoring for
pest.
• Undertake community level monitoring in our seed producon clusters to know change in distribuon and
abundance of pest and organize regular pest monitoring at every 10 days interval
• Record pest incidence at every 5 to 10 km distance at 5 spots/Ac and 5 plants/spot selected randomly as
prophylacc measure and alert the farming communies as appropriate
• Use of pheromone traps for monitoring of American, spoed & pink bollworm and spodoptera, at a
distance of 50 m @ 2 traps/Ac is mandatory in all our seed producon plots
FieldCrops
The Fact Sheet: • In Gujarat we have around 30K small holder farmers and 9K of these farmers are in the district like Sabarkantha, Danta, Banaskatha, Udaipur , Chota Udaipur ,Panchamahal , Baroda tribal communies• While the average holding in Gujarat ranges from 0.5 to 1 acre, typically average land holding is 0.25 acres in the tribal areas• SeedWorks helped these farmers increase their gross incomes by 5 fold. By partnering with SeedWorks they are geng around Rs. 35K in 0.25 as against earlier days of maize growing where they used to get 7-8K per 0.25acre acre• Our producon created self-employment for these tribal farmers & they have increased access to Right agricultural pracces• They are geng fair prices, and favorable trade terms besides access to financial services such as credit & loans• SeedWorks helped increased parcipaon of women and youth, and equal economic empowerment by enabling self-employment i.e. working in their own farms thereby created strong local economy and increased living standards• Child labor is eliminated through economic empowerment and the children are going to schools
SCM- Empower - Small Holder Farmer Iniaves
Today an esmated 450 million people earn most of their income by working on their family smallholding. With their
wealth of collecve experience and knowledge of local condions, they play a vital role in feeding the planet.
SeedWorks is proud to associate with numerous small holder farmers and helping them flourish by partnering in a
sustainable seed supply chain.
It is the commitment of SeedWorks supply chain to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and their
communies and Empower them – in parcular, by helping them to improve their agricultural pracces, seed
producon skills and income enhancement. By 2020 we had enabled around 45000 smallholder farmers to access
iniaves of our seed producon
The Story of Gujarat /Rajasthan Tribal farmers:
SeedWorks does Significant coon seed producon in the state of Gujarat & Bordering districts of Rajasthan. The
journey started in 2014 when we idenfied tribal communies whose average holding is as low as 0.25 acres, and were
used to grow local maize producon with meager income of 7-8 k per acre. They were transformed as sustainable
Coon seed producers though connuous trainings & hand holding. As seed producon is skillful acvity, the inial
years were challenging in geng them adopted. However, with connuous efforts and creang the awareness among
the communies, now our scale of operaons in the tribal communies is empowering close to 9000 growers.

A flagship project from SCM-SPR. Under the leadership of Mr. Subbu the project has been conceptualized in
the month of June 2020, The main objects are as below:
The Story of Fresh fields From North East: (North Bengal)The Purpose of the project is to empower the most backward district of cooch Bihar in the northern part of the Bengal. While this area has high potenal for paddy, sll the producvity is very low in comparison to naonal average due to less availability of infrastructure & lack right know how & skill. The Fact Sheet:
• West Bengal locaon is appropriate locaon for Rice hybrid seed producon due to favourable
temperature and humidity, round the year producon possibility & huge potenal. The region is close to
Bangladesh border and has sufficient labour availability due to rural unemployment, low farming income
of 20 K per acre
• This year SeedWorks started HSP seed producon in this region. The journey started in 2019 by giving small
scale trial producon in small & marginal holding. This year we have been doing producon with
around 300 farmers who are having average acres 0.4 acres to is 1.0 acre. Growers were used to grow local
Rice producon with an income of INR 20000 to 25000 per acre. Our project is aiming at Doubling their
income through connuous trainings and hand holding
• This helps us to create more Empowerment to local communies at this locaon. With connuous
efforts and creang the awareness among the farmers, now our scale of operaons in the Cooch Bihar
is empowering close to 300 growers form 2 growers (2 acres to 200 acres) in a span of 1 year.
• Our Producon will create huge self-employment for farmers in the local communies and help them
transform to right agricultural through SeedWorks Engagement.pracces
• Increased parcipaon of women and youth, and equal economic empowerment by enabling self-
employment/ Rural employment working in their own farms.
• Our Producon will create huge self-employment for farmers in the local communies and help them
We accept the the climate change. While is beyond our control, The means lies in how we migate the risks and yet able to produce cost efficiently. How we move towards more inventory cycles if not JIT.
→ Scoung for alternate locaons is a connuous process with SeedWorks→ We could able to travel some distance in idenfying Kharif locaons - Way forward SCM should be ready for round the year producon. (All Season producon)→ First steps in non tradional locaons - Object - significant COGP savings (X/- per Kg), yet helping the growers of that geography doubling their incomes→ Kharif bases help bridge the gaps of rabi producons of legacy locaons→ Kharif bases help center to 4th Quarter requirement of the business→ Idenfied Kharif locaons - 3 (Rajasthan, UP and North Bengal)→ Scale up from 2020-21- (100 acres and up), 21-22 (500 acres)

UDAAN:USDevelopsAllAspirants
The following connue to be main focus areas of UDAAN:• To make our new employees feel welcome and comfortable in their new surroundings• To enable them to be a producve member of their new workgroup in least amount of me
This me, due to pandemic, HR team could not travel to different locaons. However, we conducted the UDAAN sessions online and trained all permanent employees who joined before 30th September 2020
MOOC:MassiveOpenOnlineCourses
Over last couple of years, SeedWorks has been focusing on employee
Learning & Development rigorously to enhance the people capability.
Our KAUSHAL projects I & II have been completed successfully in last two
years majorly focusing on Development Centres, competency
enhancement programs and few other classroom-based trainings for our
sales team as a part of training and development programme. Recently,
we also moved to more praccal approaches of training for instance,
through case studies.
Since there are many challenges involved in trainings, for instance, physical presence at the training site which was coming as a feeler from employees. We wanted to iniate a project which would help employees learn as per their choice without disrupng their day-to-day work schedule. Therefore, to provide an online soluon with self-paced e-learning programs, we came up with a new project – MOOC.Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are online courses available for all employees to enrol. MOOCs provide an affordable and flexible way to learn new skills and advance in your career. The program was launched in August 2020. Since then, 50+ employees have enrolled for different online courses through MOOC. Out of the 50, 18 employees have successfully completed at least one course relevant to their role at SeedWorks.

Tree plantaon is very important for maintaining the ecological balance of the environment of the earth. In addion, it
renders a good feeling and makes the place worth living. It is the easiest way to beaufy the surrounding. Plantaons of
trees improve the life and fulfil essenal needs of mankind. Trees support life by providing habitat to different species
such as squirrels, bees and birds and cleanse the climate by absorbing carbon dioxide from the environment and
releasing oxygen.
This is a good iniave and must be encouraged in order to make people aware about the importance of tree plantaon.
It is high me that we the residents of this planet, appreciate the importance of tree plantaon and start contribung
for a greener planet. In 2019 we @ SeedWorks distributed fruit tree saplings to the workers of labs and vegetable plant,
to culvate the habit of tree planng and maintenance by kids. The plants are well maintained and nicely grown.

Pescides can pose hazards to humans. The severity of a harmful effect or poisoning depends on the pescide’s
chemical makeup and formulaon, its path into the body, the amount that enters the body, and the length of exposure.
Wearing Personal Protecve Equipment, or “PPE”, can greatly reduce the potenal for dermal, inhalaon, eye, and oral
exposure, and thereby significantly reduce the chances of a pescide poisoning.
We@SeedWorks are engaged in the business of agriculture where the use of pescides is indispensable. Therefore it is
our responsibility to drive safety in all the areas we operate. Safety at SeedWorks is as important as it is with its external
stakeholders too.
SeedWorks Coon Supply team conducted a training programme to our out grower farmers on using the PPE
equipment and its benefits. Our growers welcomed and appreciated the iniaves and are ready for driving the change.
It is one of our change iniaves besides training on Good seed and plant pracces (GSPP) and handholding our
stakeholders throughout the crop life cycle.
A demonstraon of our iniaves towards water conservaon through drip is also can be seen in the aached pictures.
Our hearelt appreciaon to coon team for driving the change for sustainable ,safe and water efficient seed
producon
We care @ SeedWorks- Lead the way, safety today
Responsible Use of Pescides and Container Management
Stewardship is one of the key engagements for SeedWorks Supply Chain, our waste management iniaves aim to
impart grass-root training to the farming community on responsible usage, secure storage and container management.
These training programmes are iniated in our seed producon clusters of Gujarat. Our iniave aims to create
awareness among farmers, farm families, of crop protecon products on the responsible use of crop protecon
products and safe disposal of empty crop protecon containers
@SeedWorks as we are engaged in the business of agriculture where the usage of crop protecon products is requisite.
We believe it is our responsibility to drive safety in all the areas we operate. Our pledge goes: Safety at SeedWorks is as
important as it is with its external stakeholders too.
SeedWorks Coon Supply team -Gujarat conducted a training programme for grower farmers on the responsible use of
pescides and container management. The growers welcomed and appreciated the iniaves and are ready for driving

THINKATHON- Developing AgTech Ecosystem: A joint iniave by SeedWorks and FICCI
SeedWorks strongly believes to strengthen the AgTech start-ups by providing a pilot ground to test their soluons and a launch pad to take the best soluons to millions of its loyal farmers. To enable the same SeedWorks organized a Think-a-thon session on 24th July 2020 by joint effort with FICCI, which saw parcipaon from eleven AgTech start-ups and many opportunies to collaborate were idenfied. SeedWorks dreams to bring scale to AgTech soluons, primarily leveraging arficial intelligence-enabled Internet of Things across the value chain, with a focus on harnessing technology and innovaons for sustainable future of Indian agriculture.
