Speaking on the auspicious occasion, Chancellor of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Jawaid Anwar said that the Convocation is culmination of your tireless efforts with feeling of accomplishment in life. It is glorious occasion to cherish. It is a moment to rejoice an important landmark that gives recognition to the efforts, support and sacrifices of your parents, guardians, whether in the form of devotion of time and energy for your studies or financing studies or accumulation of responsibilities in your journey in pursuit of education.

He pointed out that although the whole social and cultural structure has changed into a new mode of routine life due to Covid 19, yet Sir Syed University successfully endeavored not to let the situation affect the academic activi t ies, maintaining quali ty performance in the crucial period of corona, and implemented fully integrated Campus Management System.

Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET), organized its 25th Convocation with traditional zeal that was attended by a large number of educationists, scholars, dignitaries including faculty and students. Renowned Businessman Bashir Jan Muhammad was the chief guest of the event. On this memorable occasion around more than 1100 degrees were awarded to the pass-outs of BS and MS programme. Position holders were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals for securing highest marks in the respective disciplines.

Addressing the convocat ion, the renowned businessman and social icon Bashir Jan Muhammad said, “We all live in a complex environment where knowledge and skills only matter. Job situation is unpredictable and highly competitive. My advice to graduates is to keep updating their knowledge base throughout their career and get themselves prepared t o c o p e w i t h e m e r g i n g t e c h n o l o g i e s a n d advancements taking place in various fields and accept challenges boldly.”

Sir Syed University has always endeavored to be progressive, responsive to advancement in science, engineering and technology or business management. These days there is more focus on innovation and research. It is now necessary to figure out the new demands according to the global changes, and to update the students with new academic environment.

Presenting progress report of Sir Syed University, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin said that Today convocation is awarding 1,043 Bachelor and 54 Master degrees to the passing out students. It is to be noted that during the last 26 years, the university has produced 23,211 undergraduates, 561 graduates and 7 postgraduate students.

He said that Sir Syed University as an important partner with Ministry of Information and established National Ideas Bank, inaugurated by the President Arif Alvi, to encourage all Pakistanis to innovate and develop new ideas. SSUET organized the Grand finale of NIB competition as National Host at Sir Syed Memorial Hall at Islamabad and President Arif Alvi was the Chief Guest of the event.

Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan is an outcome of this thought who made Pakistan unbeatable with the nuclear power. In recognition of his laudable services, Sir Syed University and AMUOBA is going to honour Dr Qadeer Khan with posthumous Sir Syed Ahmed Khan Peace Award that will be received by his widow.

He announced that Sir Syed University will establish Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan Chair at the campus. In the next phase, Engr. Z. A. Nizami Chair and Engr. Muhammad Zakir Ali Khan Chair will also be established. Engr. Z. A. Nizami was the first Chancellor of Sir Syed University and President AMUOBA, while Engr. Muhammad Zakir Ali Khan was the General Secretary of AMUOBA.

He said that the Present era is of Block chain, Artificial Intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies. These technologies will not only provide employment to the students but it will also take them to entrepreneurship. Role of universities is not limited to awarding degrees to the students, but it is their duty to link them to the industries and economy. Sir Syed University turn out world class graduates able to compete in the market and cope field challenges. Our graduates have already stepped into job markets not only inside country but also in outside world.

Sir Syed University has successfully been selected for the 3rd batch and the number of applications received for Batch 3 were 28,000 and 74% of the students of batch1 and batch 2 got jobs also.

ORIC will be participating in this international expo “Pakistan Tech Expo” at Silicon Valley in May 2022 with 3 SSUET projects and 1 SME.

During the last 26 years, the University had granted scholarships of more than Rs. 524 million to 26,940 students. However, during the year under report, scholarships of Rs.39.6 million has been given to 1,075 students on merit and need basis.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin underscored that Quality Enhancement Cell of the University has achieved a score of 89.34% by the Quality Assurance Agency of Higher Education Commission for the last year. Moreover, SSUET is placed in the 'W' category which is the Highest category.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali, said that higher education has now become a tool of economic growth. Present day society needs technical skills besides education that plays an effective role in the technologically advance world. You need to update your knowledge throughout your career t o c o p e w i t h e m e r g i n g t e c h n o l o g i e s a n d advancements in different professional fields.

Addressing the ceremony, Chancellor SSUET and Chairman AIT Governing Body, Jawaid Anwar said, “Technology playing a dominant role in development and growth of the country. It is observed that the countries devoid of natural resources like Korea, Singapore, Taiwan are ranked among the top prosperous countries because of technological advancement. Today the demand for technologists have become very high in Japan, Germany and other countries.”

He advised to the graduates to connect themselves to the self-entrepreneurship and modern technology that would help them in making components. Sir Syed University always helps students to associate them with the organization who may help in manufacturing of their products/projects and take them to local and global market.

Presenting vote of thanks, Convenor AIT, Engr. Muhammad Arshad Khan said that technical and vocational education and training methodologies focus on inculcating work crafting skills among students that helps them become more employable in the future. AIT promises to produce best technicians of its own. The institute introduces new courses of technology to keep pace with the fast changing technologies.

Principal AIT Fareedonfer, said that the AIT started with 86 students and initially it has only 2 technologies that has now risen to 8 technologies.

stThe 1 Graduation Ceremony was held by Aligarh University of Technology (AIT), with traditional zeal that was attended by a large number of educationists, scholars, dignitaries, aligarians, including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali, Dean FoECE Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aamir, Dean FoCAS, Prof. Dr. Aqeel ur Rehman and others. Former Governor Sindh and Federal Interior Minister, Lt. Gen. (R) Moinuddin Haider was the chief guest.

On this memorable occasion around more than 640 diplomas were given to the pass-outs of DAE Programme in 6 different technologies. Position holders were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals for securing highest marks in the respective technologies. Total 18 students received the medals in 6 different technologies.

Emphasizing on to establishing Thalassemia Screening Camps at the universities, she told that for community engagement, efforts are made to develop liaison with the Bohra and Agha khan Community to commence a screening drive and post screening for carriers. This progress will move ahead in various forms in the community. She asked students to join CHECKMATE, a volunteer program for universities and colleges under the umbrella of Thalassemia Free Pakistan.

Appreciating the work of the dedicated SSUET team, she said, “The event was a well-organized and well attended program and we were impressed with your efforts to support the noble cause. Our mission is to prevent and cure Thalassemia by creating widespread awareness through community engagement on prevention, early detection and increased access to treatment.”

Addressing the seminar, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, said that this is a one of the most important issue that must be addressed at humanitarian ground at priority. Collective effort of all NGOs and concerned organization in collaboration with the Government is necessary for eradication of the disease to form a healthy and better society.

Dr. Abdul Mateen Ansar of the Governor House gave a very informative presentation about the prevention and cure of the disease, while Thalassemia victim, Jatin Chela Ram Kewlani shared his experiences. Registrar SSUET, Commodore (R) Syed Sarfraz Ali presented the vote of thanks.

Centre for Guidance Career Planning & Placement of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) organized Thalassemia Awareness Program at the campus that was attended by Convenor Guidance Centre, Siraj Khilji, Dean Faculty of Computing & Applied Science, Prof. Dr. Aqeel ur Rehman, Director Guidance Centre, Dr. Shakeel, Dr Tabinda, Madiha Aadil, Mrs. Munira Vali Uddin (wife of Vice Chancellor SSUET), Mrs. Husna Sarfraz (wife of Registrar SSUET), and a large number of faculty members and students. Chief Guest of the event was Reema Ismail, wife of Governor Sindh. Thalassemia is blood disorders that affect the body's ability to produce hemoglobin and red blood cells. Treatment can include blood transfusions and iron chelation therapy.

Speaking on the auspicious occasion, Reema Ismail said that the Thalassemia is increasing at alarming rate in Pakistan. The main reason behind the spread of Thalassemia in Pakistan is lack of awareness and holding of such events may create awareness among people to respond appropriately for prevention and protection from the horrible disorder. Raising awareness about Thalassemia and its prevention through premarital screening of individuals can prove helpful in reducing the chances of its transmission to the next generation.Thalassemia is spreading in Asian countries while other counties has controlled the disease. Pakistan has around 100,000 Thalassemia patients and every year 5000 to 8000 children are born with Thalassemia major in Pakistan. Treatment of the disease cost around 10,000 to 25,000 per child. Patient may die if he was not treated well. Expected life of Thalassemia patient is 12 years.

Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology has completed the process of interviews for the 3rd Batch of Prime Minister Kamyab Jawan Program. Sir Syed University was selected consecutively for the 3rd time to conduct this program in 11 trades due to the high quality of education and training imparted by the experienced and knowledgeable teachers at the campus, in the most conducive environment.

Speaking on the occasion, Chancellor SSUET, Jawaid Anwar, said that SSUET has joined hands with the government of Pakistan and NAVTTC in this nation building process as an active partner in this program that creates and ensures a thoughtful investment in human capital with emphasis on youth development.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin said that this program would facilitate the students to easily get the jobs in the market. Students are being trained in the trades through this program, which have great demand in the market.

Registrar Commodore (R) Syed Sarfraz Ali informed that SSUET received more than 27000 applications for 1600 seats of PM Hunarmand program, Batch 3, which was a huge turnover of applicant for any institution offering Skill Development or Continuing Educational Programs in Sindh.

Project Director, Dr. Tahir Fattani said that strong feedback of previous two batches ensures that the 3rd batch of PM Hunarmand program will also prove to be a great success. Project Manager, Asstt. Prof. Noman Ali Khan is running this program in a well-organized manner.

NAVTTC HQs Islamabad Team comprising Director PD & A, Muhammad Ashar Noman and Assistant Director NAVTTC Inayat ur Rehman in their message said that the event was well organized catering a large number of candidates in short span of six days. It reflects upon the hard work and dedication of SSUET Management Team.

Employers meet, inform and interview hundreds of potential applicants, while job seekers get the chance to display their skills and make important connections with potential employers, mentors, and peers.

Expressing his views on the occasion, Chancellor of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Mr. Jawaid Anwar said, “The purpose of holding this Job Fair was to facilitate students to meet potential employers in an informal setting. The event allows job seekers to learn more about potential employers and the opportunities available. The focus was on sharing information between organizations and job seekers. It is a way to explore career opportunities within a variety of companies at one location.”

Addressing the Open House, Vice-Chancellor SSUET, Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin said that Job Fair is like speed dating for recruiting. At a set time and place, companies and job seekers meet and try to find out if they'll match. Job Fair can be considered as a form of public relations for a company. Now students have a wide range of options. Choice of a profession is very important in the career. He advised students to make the best use of this opportunity and convince the industries with their skills.

The 5th edition of Job Fair 2022 was organized by the Centre for Guidance Career Planning & Placement, of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) at the campus in which more than 140 renowned companies of the town participated and set up their stalls to facilitate students in terms of sharing information and preparing them for availing the job opportunities. A large number of students, faculty members including Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali, Dean Faculty of Computing and Applied Science, Prof. Dr. Aqeel ur Rehman, Dean Faculty of Computer and Electrical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aamir, Convenor Guidance Centre, Mr. Siraj Khilj i, Chairperson CED, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, members of KATI and others attended the event.

Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Muhammad Salman Aslam, President Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) along with Vice-Chancellor SSUET, Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, Registrar SSUET, Syed Sarfraz Ali inaugurated the Job Fair 2022 by cutting the ribbon.

Speaking on the auspicious occasion, Chief Guest Muhammad Salman Aslam, President KATI said that the Careers Fairs are useful for a range of students and give large companies much-needed time to present themselves and recruit new people.

Week aims to help build up future workforce for space exploration by inspiring students, demonstrating visible public support for the space program, educating public about space activities and fostering international cooperation in space outreach and education.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin underscored that Sir Syed University is keeping pace with the academic development in space science taking place in the world. The university plans to establish an Astronomical and Weather Observatory at its new campus spreading over 200 acres of land in the suburbs of Karachi. This observatory will indeed lead to observing and photographing cosmic objects from time to time. In this connection, a collaboration has already been established with observatories in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey.

On the first day of celebration, an exhibition was held by the Mathematics Department where the space related paintings of the renowned Russian Batik artist, Miss Victoria Nikulina, was put on display for the people who immensely appreciated it. Miss Victoria Nikulina has already contributed a painting for the main entrance of SSUET “B” Block.

Dr. Umit Deniz Goker from Avyansary University, Istanbul, Asstt. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassan from Karachi University, Prof. Dr. Jawaid Iqbal from Karachi University including Prof. Dr. Rashid Kamal Ansari, Dr. Ingila Rahim, from Sir Syed University presented very informative research-based papers on the occasion.

To mark World Space Week celebrating Women in the Space this Year, Mathematics Department of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, organized the 2-day concluding session of the series of seminars. The event was attended by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aamir, Prof. Dr. Aqeel ur Rehman, chairmen, faculty members, and others.

Addressing the session, Chancellor Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET), Jawaid Anwar said that Space Technology is growing exponentially and turning sci-fi dreams into reality. The future of space exploration is bright due to the steady growth in the space exploration sector. Some interesting predictions about space technology include space tourism and space colonization. Astronomers are discovering new stars, planets, galaxies, and other celestial bodies to gain a better understanding of the creation of the universe.

Chancellor Jawaid Anwar pointed out that the improvements in space technology will facilitate a better understanding of climate and faster broadband connections. The advancements in space technology will revolutionize various industries. It is essential for organizations to understand the potential of space technology and adapt to the changing industry trends to ensure a significant position in a competitive market.

Final Year Project Defense of batch 2018 The final year project defense of Bioinformatics Department of Batch 2018 was held on February 25, 2022. Dr. Faraz (Assistant Prof, NCP, UoK), Ms Qamar from software house, were the externals of FYP defense. They evaluated 3 projects of Bioinformatics with valuable suggestions and comments. These projects revealed the extent of the diversity of research areas under study at the Faculty of Bioinformatics. Each project was the product of individual work, guided by a supervisor, but produced by the student using the skills acquired over the course of the Bioinformatics degree, a capability for technical research, the design and implementation of experiments, the application of scientific methods and the analysis and interpretation of data to obtain valid conclusions.

3, 2022. Department of Bioinformatics participated in the event with final year students under the supervision of the supervisors. The project “Computational based identification of immunodominant epitopes in SARS-

Wo r k s h o p w a s c o n d u c t e d b y w e l l - k n o w n Professionals who did remarkable achievements in their professional careers.

Four brilliant speakers in this workshop were Dr. Mohammad Imran (Chairman Civil Engineering Department) who has designed, repaired damaged structures and conducted forensic analysis for O&G facilities after fire accidents, has delivered his expertise on Building Fire Safety & Hazard Identification.

Two speakers were invited in this hybrid seminar. The physical speaker was Dr. Faisal Rasool from University of Rome and Dr. Abasal Hussain joined virtually from “The Hong Kong Poly Technic University”. Both of the speakers shed light on the importance of studies abroad and possible scenarios for students moving abroad in Asian and European States. Furthermore, they discussed the advantages of interaction and engagement with students of multiple cultures.

Besides, the speakers explained the procedure of hunting foreign scholarships all around the world and the documentation needed in this regard. They shared their own journey and experience to avoid the mistakes. The session was ended with the concluding remarks of Dean Civil Engineering, Chairman Civil Engineering & Dean Electrical & Electronics who appreciated the theme of this seminar.

FYP Orientation Batch 2019 Session Engr. Aliya Mehmood Convener FYP explained important features of FYP. She informed the purpose

and objectives of FYP. She explained that FYP starts th thfrom 7 Semester and carries over to 8 Semester. FYP

was a mandatory requirement of 200 marks that shows its importance assignment to FYP. FYP is application of knowledge, skills gained by students during previous semesters. She further mentioned that FYP Committee that included Dr. Syed Muzzamil Hussain Shah, Engr. Najia Owais Siddiqui and Engr. Zubair Iqbal Rao. FYP

Committee prepared FYP Manual. The Manual gives guidelines of how to prepare FYP report Area of study for FYP is selected by FYP of 5 student creativity, innovation leading to research – based project work is given due credit. FYP report is usually referred FYP report reflects students aptitude and helps in career development often an employer or an educational institution inquires about FYP.

Addressing the National Idea Bank grand finale, the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi said that virtual education has become a reality especially after Covid-19, and “we must take advantage of it to increase the number of graduates.”

At the end of the ceremony, President Arif Alvi presented awards to Arbila Bhutto, Muhammad Hamza Khalil, and Muhammad Ali Abbasi for securing 1st position in education, e-commerce, and health sector respectively, while Osama Jawaid Shaikh got the National Idea Bank Award.

Moreover, they visted every project individually and separately. They asked students about the market survey, what they have unique selling points and the business model. After the question-answer session, they evaluated the students and gave specific scores.

In the end, they liked and appreciated the projects of SSUET students and suggested how to take the initiative, and how these technologies may be expanded in the future. Experts advised to focus on implementing innovative, research, and business-based ideas with a deep sense of corporate culture. Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) presented Innovation Showcasing on March 7, 2022. This event was basically for the final year students for the display of their ideas and prototypes of the project. The ORIC had more than 200 projects, among which100 projects were selected for the exhibition. Further, 20 projects were short listed after evaluation, for the Silicon Valley.

1. The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology won the SPORTS

rdGALA 2021 consecutive 3 time under the supervision of agile Sports Manager Mr. Sallar Khan (Boys) and Mrs. Jawaria Hafeez (Girls). The event was held among 13 departments of Sir Syed University.

2. Departmental ceremony for the distribution of Certificates among the students and faculty who have won IGNITE Funding for the batch of 2017 and 2018 was held. The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology secured the highest number of funding among all departments of SSUET. In 2017, 7 projects secured the national funding of IGNITE while in 2018, 11 projects secured the national funding of IGNITE. The faculty members Dr. Waleej Haider (06), Dr. Asad Abbasi (01), Mr. M. Student Achievements Two FYP projects under the supervision of Mr. Sallar Khan secured 1st and 3rd positions in recent "Research Emerging Technologies" were called by the worthy Vice Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor saw their project demos and appreciated their overall efforts, and encouraged them to proceed their projects now toward a product through incubation provided by SSUET. Furthermore, they both have published their articles in different international journals and, on that, the respect Vice Chancellor awarded both group of students a full refund of their Research Publication Fees of 500$ USD. It is the very first time in SSUET, a student is going to avail the research allowance, a proud moment for students and for the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology.

ththe AI lab with the latest machines containing Intel 11 Generation Processor and NVidias GTX 1650 Graphics. These machines will give a great experience to the students in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Robotics and Game Development.

Dr. Abdul Hameed Pitafi has published a research paper with the title " Investigating the factors of enterprise social media strain: The role of enterprise social media's visibility as a moderator” in “PLOS ONE,”. According to Journal citation report 2020, PLOS ONE Journal has impact factor 3.24, and recognized by HEC in W category.

4. A paper titled, Towards Hybrid Smart Irrigation for Mixed-Cropping, had been accepted for the presentation and publication at the Global Conference on Wireless & Optical Technologies 2021 (GCWOT'21). The conference fall under HEC Category of 2nd Tier international conference which was held on February 14-16, 2022 at the University of Malaga, Spain. Sciences in the month of February 2022. Topic of the seminar was “The Vision of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan for the Modern Education”. Dr. Jamal Naqvi in his introductory lecture said that Sir Syed Ahmed Khan worked hard with his multi-dimensional personality for the betterment of the people of sub-continent.

Meeting as Chairman of the National Standard Committee (NSC) of PSQCA on January 26, 2022 at Pakistan Standard & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA), Karachi. Technical Committees proposed 16 draft standard on Small Scale Industrial Products (MTC-01), Metal Alloys and Testing (MTC-05) and Gems & Jewelries (MTC-15) that was considered. After detailed discussion, these standards were revised and adopted as Pakistan Standard.

th11 International Mechanical Engineering Conference (IMEC-2022) was jointly organized by the Institution of Engineers Pakistan (lEP), NED University of Engineering & Technology and DHA Suffa University in collaboration with Federation of Engineering Institution of South & Central Asia (FEISCA), Colombo and Federation of Engineering Institution of Islamic Countries (FEIIC), Riyadh held on January 14-15, 22 on the theme of "Sustainable Smart Advancement in Mechanical Engineering". The Conference was attended by the engineers from Pakistan and abroad. A technical session on "Material Engineering" was Chaired by Engr. Dr. Ali Jamal Naqvi (FIE) of SSUET on January 15, 2022, where four papers were presented. After the session, the Chairman IEP presented him the "lMEC-2022" Souvenir.

International Mechanical Engineering Conference

Mr. Qazi Umais Enayat is working as Operations Engineer in Oil and Gas Sector of Pakistan since four years. H e i s a n E l e c t r o n i c s a n d Communication Engineer, having graduated from the Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology. He did Masters in Supply Chain Management from

Karachi University Business School. He worked as Electronics Engineer for TPL Trakker Limited, a leading tracking services of Pakistan, for two years. He has been working as Visiting Lecturer in different technical institutes and engineering colleges in Pakistan. As Operation Engineer in Oil and Gas Sector under State Ministry for Petroleum and Natural Resources he is ,involved in evaluation, revision, redesign, and expansion of the required system, policy, rules and technically related planning to develop a forecasting models for the prediction of gas demand to assist in the decision making of gas load management.

After graduation, he started his career with K-Electric. Then Mr Adil had a lot of significant professional experiences as a Supply Chain Analyst. Mr. Adil Masood is an a c c o m p l i s h e d P r o c u r e m e n t Engineer with over 7 years of experience in multiple sectors like P o w e r , A u t o m o t i v e a n d

Manufacturing. Mr. Adil supervised the transition of the company to a computer-based ordering system. This eliminated warehouse downtime and redundancies, which, in turn, generated over $1.2 million in savings each year. He got BS degree in “Electronic Engineering” from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi and later completed his Masters in Engineering Management from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. .

With BE in Electronic followed by MS in Computer Network from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Mr. Adnan Ahmed is well-versed in the finest practices in designing, developing, implementing, managing, and supporting IT-based systems.

Salman Ahmed Khan is an Alumni of Batch 2008 and currently he is associated with Amreli Steels and working as Assistant Manager Spares & Planning. He has an experience of more than 9 years in h a n d l i n g P l a n t O p e r a t i o n s E n g i n e e r i n g i n M a t e r i a l Management , Procurement , Materials Planning, along with IT expertise in SAP - Materials Management, Plant Maintenance. Previously he has been associated with Pakistan's top leading organizations like General Tyre, Getz Pharma. General Secretary Arshad Khan immensely appreciated the outstanding performance of Dean Faculty of Computer and Electrical Engineering, Dr. Muhammad Aamir, Project Director NAVTTC, Dr. Tahir Fattani, Project Coordinator Asstt. Prof. Noman Ali Khan and IT Expert Saqib Jawaid. He said that Sir Syed University has been selected consecutively for the 3rd time for the vocational training of students under Kamyab Jawan progrmme in 11 trades. The largest number of seats among Sindh's universities was allocated to the Sir Syed University.

Mr. Khan emphasized the need for the establishment of Sir Syed Trust to get funding for the projects.

General Secretary Arshad Khan underscored that a research centre would be set up at the new campus of Sir Syed University on 200 acres of land in Education City with the support of Guidance Centre in which Siraj Khilji is playing a significant role. We are also going to start a campaign for the plantation of 3000 trees in collaboration with the Forest Department. We have achieved another milestone by laying foundation stone to Jama e Masjid Sir Syed at the new campus.

Engr. Muhammad Arshad Khan said that the first Graduation Ceremony was held at AIT in which more than 640 pass-outs were given Diploma of Associate Engineer. AIT will soon start 2-year Associate Degree programme.

Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys' Association (AMUOBA) held its Annual General Body Meeting at Sir Syed Tower in which the minutes of the last meeting were approved unanimously.

Addressing the AGM, President AMUOBA, and Chancellor of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Jawaid Anwar said that although the whole social and cultural structure has changed into a new mode of routine life due to Covid, yet we successfully endeavored not to let the situation affect the academic activities, maintaining our quality performance.

He pointed out that Sir Syed University would establish Mohsin e Pakistan Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Chair, Engr. Z.A.Nizami Chair and Engr. Muhammad Zakir Ali Khan Chair at the campus. In recognition of Dr. Qadeer Khan's valuable services and great work for the nation and country, the Posthumus award in the form of a gold medal, will be presented to his wife.

He told that Sir Syed University would reprint the book of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan “Tabeen ul Kalam” in Nastaleeq font, then it would be easy to read the book, which is actually an important document of 800 pages, based on the comparative study between Judaism and Christianity.

Presenting the annual report of the Association, Honorary Secretary General, AMUOBA, Engr. Muhammad Arshad Khan said that Sir Syed University was established in 1994 with 200 students and now it is ranked among the top most universities of Pakistan in the field of engineering and technologies and moving ahead for international rankings.

Developmental WorkKarachi Master Plan for the period 2005 to 2020 included proposal to have an Education City in North West of Karachi. Education City is situated along both sides of Link Road connecting National Highway with Super Highway and between Malir River and Sukhan Nallah.

Government of Sindh allocated over 9000 acres land for Education City for providing education and health

facilities. An area of 200 acres was allotted to Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology to build new campus.

that he needed to keep updating himself in the global context. He devoted his entire life to teaching. He loved his profession so much that he refused to accept high-profile jobs.

The eldest son of Prof. Dr. Mumtaz ul Imam, Chief Commissioner of Inland Revenue, Dr. Aftab Imam, said that his father was very kind and sympathetic and he never beat them. The way he taught him and groomed was an asset of successful life. Credit goes to him who prepared us to survive in the cutthroat competition and earned such a brilliant status.

The youngest son of Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Al-Imam, Advocate Sindh High Court, Dr. Shahab Imam said, “My father used to say that there may be many obstacles in your way but no one can stop you from getting knowledge. It is up to you how much education you get. This is the reason that I qualified CSS exam at a very early stage. He was impartial and did not discriminate against anyone.

Prof. Dr. Mukhtiar Ali Unar, Dean, Mehran University, Jamshoro, said that it is very difficult to express my true feelings for my teacher and mentor. He was a great teacher who gave me great confidence. Dr. Rabia Noor Inam said that I have no words to praise my teacher but I have feelings for him. He was a great teacher. Dr. Adnan Kudiya said that the process of learning continues throughout life.

Renowned writer and scholar Dr. Arshad Rizvi while introducing Dr. Aftab Imam and Dr. Shahab Imam shed light on the personality and services of Prof. Dr. Mumtaz ul Imam and Professor Noshaba Siddiqui conducted the event.

Chancellor Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Jawaid Anwar, has said that Man's connection with a man is sometimes so deep that his separation becomes so agonizing, and such deep relation is based on sincerity and love. Aura of their personality makes it hard to forget them. The more one tries to forget them, the more intensely the memory of them captures the heart. Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Al-Imam is one of such personalities whose memory is still alive in our hearts and today's gathering is proof of how much love and devotion we have for him. He was speaking at the condolence reference held for Prof. Dr. Mumtaz ul Imam at the campus.

Chancellor Jawaid Anwar pointed out that Prof. Dr. Mumtaz ul Imam was a multidimensional personality whose decency and humble spirit was appreciated by all. His focus was on research-based knowledge. He studied in the best universities and rendered his services as Professor in the top universities of the world. He was one of the foremost writers and researchers in the world. He attended several national and international conferences and presented his research papers. His research articles were published in prestigious and reputable journals. He held a higher position in the academic sector for his knowledge and skills. His death is undoubtedly an irreparable loss. Despite being offered citizenship by USA, UK, and Canada, he preferred to stay in Sindh.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin said that Prof. Dr. Mumtaz ul Imam promoted research culture in Sir Syed University and played a pivotal role in initiating Ph.D. and Masters programs. He realized that the world was changing rapidly and

rd6, 2022. They secured 3 position, and got shield and certificates. Around 20 teams from all over Karachi took part in the competition.
