Our unique race distance represents the
distance from a ship to the horizon line;
a distance for which our military battled
when they stormed Normandy in June of
1945. Our runners gladly take on that
challenge to commemorate the work of
our US Military.
For you landlubbers, a 10 nautical mile
race is similar in length to a half-
marathon.

Auto Skills... Auto Skills is here to assist Active Duty, retirees, DOD civilians and green strip contractors with automotive repairs and maintenance. We have a knowledgeable staff with fill intentions of your vehicles being safe on the road. We have 4 post lifts which are $10 per hour. The Ellison Community Recreation Center… has it all! The center is open to all MWR patrons, and boasts a thirty-six seat theater, TV lounge, billiards, ping pong, darts, video game systems and a 4-station computer center with internet & printer access. Our friendly staff are on-site to assist you in booking your next vacation, sell discount tickets to local & national attractions, and take registrations for various recreational activities offered through our Community Recreation program. Several MWR special events & activities are conducted throughout the year, and the facility is available for command functions or party reservations (rental fee applicable). Equipment Rental... Equipment Rental has a wide variety of items to rent to all patrons. We have tables, chairs, canopy tents, waterslides, bounce houses, kayaks, canoes, sno-cone machines, cotton candy machines, popcorn machines and more! Our rental prices are based on a 4 day rental. Auto Skills... is here for those who prefer a more hands-on approach to auto
maintenance. The Auto Skills Shop has the facility, equipment, tools, and library of repair
manuals available for you to change a spark plug or do a major overhaul or restoration
project. Access to a few professional tools hydraulic lifts make it easier for you to get the job
done right. Trained instructors are available to assist patrons at all times.
Rental Center... Having an event? Canopy tents, dunk tanks and popcorn-poppers are just
a few of the items we offer that can add a festive and a professional touch to command
functions, family reunions, birthday parties and many other special activities. Take it
outdoors! The Outdoor Recreation Equipment Center has mountain bikes, tents and much
more to prepare you for your next great outdoor experience. Outdoor recreational items
include: 6 Person Tent, 2 Person Tent, Fold Up Cot/w Padding, Air Mattress with Pump, Led
Lantern, Propane Cooker with BBQ Kit, Fire Ring, Combo Fishing Rod/tackle Box, Cane
Pole/tackle Box, Corn Hole Game, Ladder Game, Bike/helmet, Trailer, Kayak, Canoe, and
15' Water Slide.
CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAMS The Child Development Center (CDC)... is a nationally accredited program offering care for
children of military personnel and DOD civilians by a professionally certified and trained
staff. This program is recognized as setting the standard for military and civilian childcare
across the nation. Children 6 weeks - 5 years old are accepted for regular weekly care, with
hourly care provided on a space available/reservation basis.
Navy Youth Programs... provides a fun and safe environment for base eligible youth &
teens throughout the year. We are accredited through the Council on Accreditation and
affiliates of both 4-H and Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Youth Center: After School
Program, Before School Program, FitFactor, Holiday Events, Kid's Nights Out, Saturday
Play, Special Events, Sports Competitions, Summer Day Camp, and Vacation Play Days.
The Teen Center... offers teens a great cure for "There's nothing to do!" blues. The Teen
Center provides age appropriate, supervised activities for 6th - 12th graders. Amenities
include: pool table, large-screen TV, two computers, Dreamcast, Playstation 1, Playstation 2,
Nintendo 64, board games, concessions, and much more. Teens also have access to the
Youth Center's Tech Lab with 10 computers, all with Internet access. Special events, holiday
celebrations, recreational skill classes, trips and tours are offered throughout the year.
The School Liaison Officer... is the primary point of contact between the military
installation, the local school administration, parents and the community at large. The Navy
School Liaison Officer (SLO) program helps installation and regional commanders work with
state departments and local school districts to ensure school personnel are aware of the
stressors on military families brought about by frequent transitions and extended
deployments. These education professionals are located on all major Navy installations and
serve as “ombudsmen” between Navy families and schools.
HOSPITALITY / FOOD AND BEVERAGE Helmsman Complex... You will find something for everyone at the Helmsman. The
Helmsman Complex is home to a variety of business activities that provide quality food,
entertainment services and a major venue for hosting meetings and command functions.
Although this facility is heavily used for catered affairs, other events including business
expositions, retirements and formal award presentations are held here. This facility features
The Seven Seas Dining Room offering quality service and an inviting atmosphere featuring
buffet, soup and salad bar, and ala carte dining. The John Finn (All hands lounge) provide
a popular mix of friendliness and entertainment. Also housed in the Helmsman Complex are
the Memphis room, and Millington Ballroom. Services available to customize your event
include food and beverage catering and equipment rental.

Glen Eagle Golf Course... is open to all MWR authorized patrons and the general public.
Glen Eagle is an exceptional 18 hole championship course which features Tif Eagle Bermuda
Greens contoured to be some of the most challenging in Memphis area. This facility offers a well
stocked golf shop featuring some of the top lines in golf such as Titlest, Callaway, Puma Footjoy
and many others. Our PGA Professionals offer lessons for groups and individuals. The Glen
Eagle Golf Course is managed in accordance with military regulations to provide personnel and
their dependents an avenue of attaining physical fitness and a place to enjoy leisure time. The
staff strives to provide an outstanding golf program, which meets the emotional and physical
needs of its participants and they will be happy to coordinate a tournament just for your
group. Golf Course features: Driving range; Putting green; 140 yard practice hole. Rental of
equipment including golf carts, clubs and pull carts can be arranged in the golf pro shop. Club
repair is available for a nominal fee. Pace of Play 4 hours and 15 minutes
Eagle's Peak Grill Bar... is the hub of after work activities on the north-side of the base and it's
not just for golfers! It's open to anyone looking to relax in a lounge atmosphere. Watch the big
game on the large screen TV or lounge outdoors on our heated patio. We're located in the Club
House at the Glen Eagle Golf Course. Eagle's Peak Grill and Bar are open to active and retired
military, DOD personnel and the general public. Call ahead for breakfast or lunch and we'll have
it hot and ready for pick up! Give us 24 hours notice and we will give you ...our Southern
hospitality group service!
FITNESS AND SPORTS Navy Fitness at NSA Mid-South... is here to help you maintain physical readiness! The Joe
Dugger Fitness and Sports Facility (JDFSC) has ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bikes,
recumbent bikes, and Stairmasters. We also have LifeFitness Strength Series and Hammer
Strength equipment as well as free weights. You can bring your own equipment or check-out
some from our friendly front-desk staff. Both our men's and women's locker rooms include a
sauna, steam room, and several shower stalls. Facility features: Racquetball courts; Personal
training services; Massage Therapy; Family Fitness Room; Splash Park; Outdoor Basketball
Courts.
The Intramural Sports program... our mission is to provide the population of NSA Mid-South
with a wide variety of programming opportunities that effectively meet the diverse recreational
needs of the base and ensure fleet and family readiness by encouraging participant safety,
physical activity, command participation, camaraderie, sportsmanship, healthy competition, and
athletic skills development. The Intramural Sports program at NSA Mid-South Sports, we
embrace the one team, one fight mentality to the fullest and place participant safety and
sportsmanship above all else.
RECREATIONAL LODGING Navy Gateway Inns & Suites... (NGIS) is providing on-base stellar lodging service!
Reservations are available. The Navy's primary lodging facilities for travelers on official orders
(also available to Department of Defense (DoD) travelers), Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGIS),
is expanding lodging service for those Military or civilian personnel traveling to Millington, TN or
hosting region or installation traveler(s). In addition to providing accommodations at NGIS NSA
Mid-South, if there is no on base lodging available, NGIS will help meet guests' mission and
lodging needs by referring guests to the Navy Lodge. NGIS ensures room rates at and below per
diem, while providing safe and secure lodging that meets DoD lodging standards.
Navy Getaways… includes the Cottages by Glen Eagle which are located just north of the Glen
Eagle Golf Course. An ideal location for groups participating in activities in the surrounding area
and a relaxing retreat for all visitors to the Mid-South area. Each 3 bedroom cottage features a
combination of queen size, full size and/or twin beds, living room with recliner, sleeper sofa,
cable television with DVD player, dining room; fully equipped kitchen, free WiFi internet and
more.
Midway RV Park... A Beautiful campground with 48 RV sites The Park is conveniently located a
short walk from the Commissary and NEX on the south side of Navy Mid-South. Patrons wishing
to use this facility must have Military ID to access the park, which is situated within the perimeter
of the base security fence. Call to reserve space or stop by the Central Reservation Center.
Additional information about the base and MWR programs will be provided during check-in.
