October - December NEWS LETTER

Hi ladies, how time flies, 2102 is coming to a close and another new year is approaching. Let me

share with you some of the happenings for the last two months.

District Matters

1. The 33rd

AGM for District 330 and 1st

AGM for District 331 will be held from 22-24

March 2013 at the One World Hotel.

The AGM package is priced at RM390 per participant. Accommodation at the One World

Hotel will be RM400 for twin, RM498 for triple; Executive Deluxe twin is at RM460 and

Executive Deluxe triple is at RM558.

This rate is valid if booking is made before 21 January 2013.Breakfast is included.

The District Executive Committee and District Committee Meeting with club Delegates

will be held on the first two days while Sunday will be reserved for hosting a social

project in keeping with IIW theme ‘Giving children a better life’. 200 orphaned children

will be treated to a morning of fun, games and entertainment with lunch included.

IIWC President Carole Young will be present at this historic occasion

2. IIWC President Carole Young will be visiting Singapore after the AGM from 26-28 March.

She will be accompanied by DC Rokiah and National Representation Ilah.

Shirin will host both President Young and Ilah.

Local IWC Matters

1.The Lee Foundation has generously donated $10,000 towards the AWWA Resource

Centre.

2. The 1st first dinner-meeting to form Singapore ’s 4th Inner Wheel Club was held on 5th

December at the Singapore Swimming Club, hosted by Dr Lucy Ooi of IWC Singapore

East.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Presidents of all 3 Singapore Clubs and

other senior members including PIIW Board Director Shirin and PNR Kim, a discussion

was also held to plan the program for IIW President Carole Young’s visit to Singapore

next year.

She will meet the committee members of all 3 Clubs on the first night (26th Mar) and the

general membership of all 3 Clubs the following morning (27th) about 11am during a visit

to IWC Singapore’s charity project venue (Association for the Visually Handicapped)

She will be met on arrival by all 3 Presidents and brought to lunch immediately after.

The social programs on both afternoons of 26th and 27th will be decided when we

receive Carole’s reply as to her particular interests and special requests.

3. International Inner Wheel Day will be hosted by IWC Singapore.

The function will be held on:

Date: 10 January 2013 from 7 to 10pm.

Venue: The Polo Club, 80, Mount Pleasant Road, off Thomson Road

Catering: Buffet

Colour code: Blue / yellow

Theme: Peace / friendship

Each club is to contribute $150.

4. The Christmas Party for Sun Dac Day Activity Centre was held on Saturday 8th December.

Kim, Caroline, Claudia, Gek, Shirley, Lucy Bay & grandson Lucas, Ping & niece and Lucia

joined the Sun Dac clients and staff for a morning of songs and dance.

The biggest draw was the buffet which both the clients and their familes enjoyed

heartily.

5 Project Cambodia

Our club had donated $1000 to the St Michael Church of Kampong Som, Cambodia.

Every year, the Catholic Church of Sihanouk Ville brings hope and joy to the inmates at the

prison cells by inviting leaders of other Christian and non-Christian communities for the

activity. This year is no exception; they will bear gifts for each prisoner with personal utilities

worth five dollars. Our donation will help to realize this plan.

6. 2012 Christmas get-together

This year’s Christmas Get-together was held on 16 December at Joanna’s Sie house. This is a

pot-luck dinner held after our Meeting. We had great fellowship and a variety of food done by

our members.

Members’ husbands were also present. Of special mention is Paul’s daughter, Nicole who flew

in from Dublin an hour before the Party and started baking some extraordinary cakes. Paul’s

hand on the turkey was also incredible and very tender.
