HESI A2 Admission Exam The HESI A2 admission exam is a timed, computerized test which is usually completed in 3-4 hours. There is a 4.5-hour time limit. All applicants for the Medical Radiography and Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs are required to take this exam and submit their score sheet with the program application. There are five sections of the HESI A2 exam required: Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary/General Knowledge, Math, and Anatomy/Physiology. Applicants must also complete the Learning Style section; however, it will not be scored. There is not a minimum score requirement; however, a cumulative score of 70% and a score of 70% in each of the five sections is highly recommended. If an applicant desires to retake the HESI, ALL FIVE SECTIONS must be retaken. Only one score sheet may be submitted with an application. Scores on individual exam sections which are printed on separate score sheets will not be accepted. Applicants are only permitted to take the Hesi A2 exam two (2) times per academic year (September August). Exam Rules when taking the HESI A2 Exam through Proctor U:

1. The HESI A2 Exam Attempt 1 can only be taken once per academic year (September 1-August 31).

2. The HESI A2 Exam Attempt 2 can only be taken once per academic year (September 1-August 31)

3. The test-taker must present their government photo ID during the exam startup on test day.

4. Outside resources, including scratch paper are NOT permitted.

5. Bathroom Breaks are permitted ONLY between EXAM sections. The current section must be completed and

submitted before stepping out for a bathroom break.

6. Unless you have a documented and approved accommodation, talking or whispering aloud during the exam

is not permitted.

7. Your face, chin to forehead, must be in the camera view at all times and in visible lighting.

8. You may not have anyone else in your testing location with you.

9. Additional noises, including other people talking to you, while you’re in your exam is not permitted.

10. Resources or Materials are not permitted so your eyes must stay on the screen at all times while testing.

11. Utilizing materials other than the computer you are signed into is not permitted.

12. Opening other windows, documents, or searches is not permitted.

13. Taking pictures while in your exam, including screenshots, is not permitted.

14. Copying and pasting any elements of the exam are not permitted.

15. Virtual machines can be detected through the pre-exam system check, and are not permitted.

16. You are only allowed to use one monitor attached to one computer during your exam. No other devices

may be connected to your computer and/or monitor.

17. Students found to be in violation of any of the above listed terms will jeopardize their opportunity to apply

for any Medical Imaging Programs now or in the future.

18. Proceeding to the Exam is declaration of understanding and agreeing to the above listed terms.
