Welcome

Dear all,

We would like to welcome new members to the RIAM Performing Groups and also welcome those of

you who are returning to RIAM for this academic year.

We are delighted to continue to introduce you to a new era of opportunity for all students of orchestral

instruments at the RIAM.

Please read this booklet carefully. Here you will find guidelines and information on rehearsal and

performance dates, attendance etiquette, dress codes, information on our selection process and

information on how you can contact us.

2019-20 promises to be a year when our newly formed ensembles tackle challenging, enjoyable and

exciting repertoire under the expertise of our conductors. All groups will continue to be more involved

and engaged with interesting and exciting repertoire, increased performance output and RIAM

Outreach events.

In order to perform at our best, full attendance, punctuality, commitment and preparation are a given

and expected from all.

We look forward to seeing and working with you through the year and I hope that 2019-20 will be a

memorable and fun experience. Enjoy !

Best wishes,

James Cavanagh
