Now, therefore. in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Indian Forest Act 1.927 (Central Act 1\"0. 16 of 1927), the Lieutenant Govern;:;l' of Goa, Daman and Diu hereby declares that it h~l s been decided to constitute the said land as a Reserved Forest. and further appoints under Clause (c) of sub-section (1) of Section 4 Shri A. M. Deshprahhu as the Forest Settle­ment Officer to inquire into and determine the existence, nature and extent of any rights alleged to exist in favour of any person in or over any land comprised within such, limits, or in or over ap.y forest produce and to deal with the same as provided. in Chapter IT of the said Act.
