Welcome to Glenn Gould Studio. Often referred to as the “jewel of the Canadian Broadcasting Centre,” the studio is located at 250 Front Street West, in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Glenn Gould Studio is named after one of the most celebrated classical pianists of the 20th century. Our mission is to honour the legacy Glenn Gould left behind by operating as a centre of excellence for Canadian and international performances and events.

RECEPTIONS

The lobby serves as a welcome and inviting space with glass windows overlooking Front Street, for all of your guests and attendees to reconnect. The lobby showcases memorabilia and photos from Glenn Gould’s life with the centrepiece being the Chickering Piano from his family home.

Connected directly to the Studio, this is a great space for: silent auctions, breakfast meetings, cocktail parties, concert receptions and intimate dinners. The Lobby can be rented together with the Studio or separately.

CONCERTS

As one of the premier concert venues in Toronto, Glenn Gould Studio has been home to many classical, jazz and world music concerts. With a seating capacity of 340, this state of the art facility o�ers a truly intimate environment for concerts and variety performances.

Our Technical Production team will work with you to ensure all your technical requirements are met. Our technical service o�erings include professional audio recording, video production, live streaming and post-production mixing.

Our Front of House team will work with you on ticketing details, guest arrival and food and beverage requirements.

RECORDINGS

Glenn Gould Studio is a state-of-the-art recording facility o�ering incredible sound isolation (NC-15) and ideal acoustics for classical, jazz and contemporary music recordings.

Glenn Gould Studio has been the scene of many Canadian and Hollywood film scores and can accommodate a 60-piece orches-tra on stage.

The control room features a 48 input Euphonix/Avid System 5 console with full automation and surround mix capabilities.

CORPORATE

Business groups now have an exciting alternative to hotel, meeting or conven-tion rooms.

Glenn Gould Studio is a premier event venue for annual general meetings, townhalls, award shows, film screenings, conferences, fundraising galas, lectures, trade shows and cocktail receptions.

Our technical service o�erings include webcasting, audio and video production, post production and multi-remote broadcasts.

Our Front of House team will ensure that all of your food and beverage details and event logistics are realized to create a seamless and successful event.

CONFERENCES

Ideal for break-out sessions or board of directors meetings, the conference centre is a great add-on to any corporate event.

With six rooms ranging from 10 -100 person capacity, the rooms can be rented individually or as a buy-out. The facility includes a kitchen, coat check and private washrooms. Beverage services are managed by Glenn Gould Studio. Food services are managed through one of our preferred caterers.

FOOD & BEVERAGE

Glenn Gould Studio has a fully licensed bar under LLBO. Our alcohol vendors are Peller Estates Wines and Steamwhistle Beer. Special Occasion Permits will be permitted for registered charities and a corkage fee of $15.00 per person will apply. Substitution fees will apply to each special order beverage. A 15% landmark fee will apply to all food and catering sta�. This fee will be charged by the caterers and will be remitted back to GGS follow-ing the event. Beverages can be served as a host consumption bar or cash bar. Drink tickets also available, upon request.

Glenn Gould Studio prides itself with working alongside the top catering teams in the city. All food is prepared and served by our preferred catering partners.



BOOKING INFO

Rental RatesRental rates vary by room, technical support, beverage requirements and number of hours or days required.

Booking & Payment ProcedureAfter your initial site visit and meeting with us, you will receive an event estimate. Once this estimate has been signed o�, in order to confirm the booking, 50% of the total estimate is required with signed contract and a valid credit card on file. The balance is due 10 days prior to the event. Payment can be made by Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, wire transfer or cheque payable to Glenn Gould Studio.

InsuranceProof of insurance is required for all events in the amount of $2 million General Commercial Liability (GCL). This is available through your insurer. For more details on insurance, please ask your Glenn Gould Studio Event Coordinator.

Food & BeverageAll beverages are managed by Glenn Gould Studio Front of House team. Catering can be

provided by our preferred partners.

CancellationIf booking is cancelled, the deposit is non-refund-able and forfeited. If the event is canceled less and 10 days prior to the event, all monies are forfeited.

SOCANFor all performance bookings if live or pre-record-ed music is played during the Event, (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) charges will apply. All applicable SOCAN tari� fees need to be remitted by Licensee directly to SOCAN in accordance with the current condi-tions and tari� rates. Event AccessSet-up is included in your rental. If early access is required, additional venue fees and labour fees will apply. All load-ins for instruments, equipment and deliveries are done via 25 John Street at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre. Please coordinate all of your load-in details with a member of our sta�. The stage entrance for

musicians, performers and all speakers is 25 John Street. No deliveries permitted until the day of your event.

Included with Event Rental:Concerts/Corporate. Glenn Gould Studio auditorium with available lighting system setup. Public washrooms including wheelchair accessi-ble washroom. Backstage facilities: Lounge, two private dressing rooms (wheelchair accessible), two large dressing rooms, washrooms, three warm-up pianos. DIRECTIONS

Glenn Gould Studio is easily accessible by public transit. From the TTC and GO transit stops at Union Station, you can walk west 3 blocks to the Canadian Broadcasting Centre on the north side of Front Street. Glenn Gould Studio is connected to the PATH underground walkway via St Andrew Station.
