Enter the content and a short description of the content (domain or strand/standard/elements) in column 1 (e.g., Reading Literary, ELACC3RL3 Describes characters). 2. Indicate the percentage of instructional time and the assessment devoted to the content in the “Content Emphasis” column (e.g., 30%). To calculate the percentage, consider the course scope and sequence or other curriculum mapping, and divide the Instructional Time Spent on Content by the Total Instructional Time. To calculate the number of items needed for the content, multiply the Instructional Time Spent by the Total Number of Items/Tasks. To get the percentage, divide the product by the Total Number of Items/Tasks. 3. SLO TABLE OF SPECIFICATIONS A (ITEM ANALYSES)

The purpose of this table is to detail the content, level of cognitive demand, amount, type, and answer or point value of the assessment items/or tasks. 1.

To calculate the percentage, consider the course scope and

sequence or other curriculum mapping, and divide the Instructional Time Spent on Content by the Total Instructional Time. To calculate the number of items needed for the content, multiply the

Instructional Time Spent by the Total Number of Items/Tasks. To get the percentage, divide the product by the Total Number of Items/Tasks.

3. Specify the type of item or task in the column entitled “Item Type or Task” (e.g., MC - multiple choice, SR - short response, E – essay, or PT – performance task).

4. Determine the level of cognitive demand required of the student to perform the skill or demonstrate the knowledge described by the standard (e.g. DOK – Level 2),

and ensure the item is at or above the cognitive level of the standard.

5. Provide the answer and/or point value of the item or task.

6. After test administration, use performance results to conduct an item analysis and determine next steps.
