Area View FFU, 360° digitally positioned in the centre of the sun visor.

Front view cameraThere are 3 front view camera systems. The 3 front view camera systems are fitted in the sun visor; see illustrations. Depending on the option, the picture from the front view camera is either displayed on the infotainment system monitor or on a separate 7" or 10" monitor.

Information about separate 7" and 10" monitors can be found under the heading Sep-arate monitors.

Camera system accompanying front view mirrorThe front view camera in the Front view camera (variant code 3832E) and Front view camera with 7" monitor (variant code 3832F) options is located in the sun visor on the passenger side and displays the area in front of the cab and outside the passen-ger side; see illustration. The camera has a shooting angle of 118°.

On vehicles fitted with the option Front view camera (variant code 3832E), the cam-era is connected to the infotainment system monitor. The camera is always active at vehicle speeds up to 30 km/h, but never above this speed.

On vehicles fitted with the Front view camera with 7" monitor (variant code 3832F) option, the camera is connected to a separate 7" monitor. The camera is always active at speeds up to 30 km/h. At speeds above 30 km/h, the camera is only active when the direction indicator is activated.

On vehicles fitted with the option Area ViewFFU, 360° digital (variant code 9026A), the camera is positioned in the centre of the sun visor; see illustration. The camera displays the area in front of the cab as a part of the 360° area view. The camera has a recording angle of 190°. Area View The system is always active at speeds up to 40 km/h.

Front view camera that replaces the front view mirror.

Camera system as replacement for front view mirrorThe front view camera in the option Front view camera with separate 10" monitor (variant code 3832G) displays the area in front of the cab. The camera is connected to a separate 10" monitor. The camera has a recording angle of 270° and is always active when the starter lock is in drive mode.

For vehicles registered in the EU and WVTA markets, it is prohibited to remove front view mirrors.

Suggested final rear view camera position.

Rear view cameraNote:The infotainment system monitor does not have a function to mirror the camera view. When retrofitting a rear view camera that will show the picture on the infotainment system monitor, the camera must be of a type that mirrors the picture.

There are 2 different positions for the rear view camera: on the chassis frame end beam or on the rear cab wall. Depending on the option, the picture from the rear view camera is shown on the infotainment system monitor or on a separate 7" monitor. The camera has a shooting angle of 118°.

Rear view camera on the chassis frameThe rear view camera in the Rear view camera for trucks (variant code 3832H) and Rear view camera for trucks with separate 7" monitor (variant code 3832J) options is positioned at the rear end of the chassis frame.

The camera gives an overview of the area behind the truck. The rear view camera is delivered transport-mounted from the factory. The bodybuilder fits the camera in the correct position, e.g. on the chassis frame end beam; see illustration. The camera is activated when reverse gear is engaged.

Rear view camera on rear cab wallThe rear view camera in the Rear view camera connected to the infotainment system monitor (variant code 3832K) option is positioned on the rear cab wall. The camera gives an overview of the area behind the cab. The vehicle is fitted with a cable har-ness from the infotainment system to the rear wall of the cab. The camera is supplied loose in the cab. The bodybuilder installs and connects the camera. The camera is ac-tivated when reverse gear is engaged.

Measurements for positioning the rear view camera.

Directions for positioning the rear view cameraIf the rear view camera is positioned so that its lower edge is less than 2 m from the ground at the highest permitted load weight, the following requirements apply:

• The camera must not protrude more than 50 mm outside the width of the vehicle; see illustration. This is stipulated in international vehicle regulation ECE R46.

• Sharp edges on the camera with a radius of less than 2.5 mm must not be able to come into contact with anything within a diameter of 100 mm

Extension cable for rear view cameraThe factory-fitted cable harness for the rear view camera is approx. 13 m long meas-ured from the gearbox beam. If the rear view camera needs to be positioned far away from its original position, an extension cable may be necessary. The vehicle can be factory-fitted with the Camera system, extension cable FFU, 5 metres (variant code 7551A) option.

Positioning the harness-to-component connector for connecting a rear view camera located on a trailer.

Connecting a rear view camera located on a trailerThe Preparation for rear view camera on semi-trailer (variant code 3832L) and Preparation for rear view camera on semi-trailer, separate 7" monitor (variant code 3832M) options allow a rear view camera to be connected to a trailer.

Depending on the option, the image is displayed on the infotainment system monitor or on a separate 7" monitor.

The rear view camera is activated when the reverse gear is engaged. The rear view camera on the truck is automatically disengaged when the rear view camera on the trailer is connected.

Connecting the Area View camera system1 rear view camera and 2 side view cameras are included in vehicles factory-fitted with the Area ViewFFU, 360° digital (variant code 9026A) option. The cameras are supplied in a plastic bag in the cab storage box. A document containing information on FFU customization for the bodybuilder is placed in the cab. The Area View sys-tem must be calibrated after installing a camera on the bodywork.

Separate monitorDepending on the option, images from the front view camera and rear view camera are displayed on a separate monitor. The separate monitors are available in 2 sizes: 7" and 10".

The 7" and 10" monitors are both positioned on the centre panel in the cab; see illus-trations. The 7" monitor can display images from both the front and rear view cam-eras. The 10" monitor only displays images from the front view camera.

7" monitor for Area View, 360° digital.

Vehicles fitted with the Area ViewFFU, 360° digital (variant code 9026A) option display images from all 4 cameras on a 7" monitor; see illustration. The view adapts to vehicle speed, oscillation signals and gear position while driving. This enables di-rectional operation and the vehicle is safer to operate in a turn.

Scania's infotainment systemFor the image from the camera to be displayed on the infotainment system monitor, the vehicle must be fitted with the Infotainment system 2 DIN with 7" monitor (pre-mium) (variant code 5120B) option. The infotainment system with monitor is posi-tioned in the instrument panel; see illustration.

Description

Rear view camera with lens cover that is connected to the infotainment system monitor and is activated when reverse gear is engaged. The lens cover is lowered and protects the camera lens from dirt and dust when the vehicle is driving forwards. The camera is temporarily fit-ted at the rear end of the frame and final refitting must be handled by the bodybuilder or customer.

Preparation for rear view camera for mounting on the rear wall of the cab. Can be used to see loading and unloading. The camera is activated on the infotainment system monitor. The lens cover is only open during activation and therefore keeps the lens clean. Preparation with cable harness in the cab wall included. The camera is delivered in the cab. Camera bracket not included.

Side view camera mounted on the passenger side of the cab and connected to the infotain-ment system monitor. The monitor is switched off when the vehicle speed exceeds 35 km/h and switched on automatically when the direction indicator is activated on the passenger side, even at higher vehicle speeds.

Description

The camera is connected to the factory-fitted infotainment system monitor. The camera is fitted in the sun visor. Front view mirrors are also fitted if required by law.

The vehicle is fitted with a cable harness from the infotainment system to the rear wall of the cab where the cable harness is accessible behind a rubber sealing cap. The camera is sup-plied loose in the cab and fitted by the bodybuilder. Brackets are not included.

Description

Orlaco rear view camera connected to the infotainment system monitor. The rear view cam-era is positioned on the rear of the cab and has a shooting angle of 118 degrees. The cable harness from infotainment system to camera is prepared and fitted. Due to many different possible variants, the camera bracket is not included. Preparation for rear view camera on semi-trailer. The preparation is connected to the infotainment system monitor and activated when reverse gear is engaged. Camera not included. Spiral cable to semi-trailer is included and supplied in the cab.

Side view camera connected to the infotainment system monitor. The side view camera is mounted on the passenger side of the cab. The monitor is switched off when the vehicle speed exceeds 35 km/h. The monitor is switched on automatically when the direction indi-cator is activated on the passenger side, even at higher vehicle speeds. Preparation for rear view camera on trailer. When a camera is fitted and connected, it gives a better view when the vehicle is reversing. Front view camera CornerEye connected to a separate 10" monitor. The camera is posi-tioned on the sun visor, and the monitor is positioned above the passenger door. The camera is activated all the time. The front view camera does not replace the class VI front view mir-ror, in accordance with European legislation R46, but the front view mirror is delivered fit-ted.

The front view camera is fitted in the sun visor and the rear view camera is fitted to the rear of the chassis. The cameras are connected to separate monitors.

The vehicle is fitted with a camera system consisting of 4 digital cameras, a control unit, a 7" monitor and electrical cables and camera bracket for fitting. The cameras are supplied in a plastic bag in the cab storage box. A document containing information on FFU customi-zation for the bodybuilder is placed in the cab. The Area View system must be calibrated after installing a camera on the bodywork.
