The fact that there are so many videos on YouTube of people

trying – and failing – to smash Xcovers, says a lot about their

reputation. It was made for outdoor pursuit types but is ideal for

handling mobile worker bashings.

What’s noticeable about the phone is it feels like a proper

smartphone – it’s thin, but with an easy grip and non-slip finish.

It’s also super handy for people who work outdoors – it’s increased

touch sensitivity means that even gloves can work on it.

Made by US company Caterpillar – better known for building

massive hard-as-nails construction vehicles. And they’ve brought

the same approach to this rugged device which is designed to

cope with whatever you chuck at it.

It has a toughened Gorilla Glass 5 screen, long battery life and is

certified as dust proof and waterproof. It means you can dunk it

in your coffee for an hour – although, I’m not sure why you’d want

to do this.

We see the Cat’s S61 as one of the most rugged smartphone for

everyday use.

CAT S41

The S41 is one of Cat’s best smartphone to date. The phone has

amazing battery life and serious rugged specs. However, there is

room for improvement on the camera, but it's still more than

capable of taking good quality images.

The S41 has a water- and dust-proof rating of IP68, allowing it to be

submerged up to one meter for up to one hour. It’s also rated a

Military Standard and is capable of withstanding falls from heights

up to 6 feet.

The S41 features a bright, 1080p display and an excellent, easy-to-

grip design. with a battery that can last up to 44 days on standby.

If it’s a tablet you’re looking for, the Galaxy Tab Active2 is ideal for

mobile workers – its 8″ screen means that information can be displayed

and entered with ease.

It’s the type of tablet that can be dropped, dropped in water, withstand

dust etc. But what really makes it special is its security. It uses

Samsung’s KNOX security solution, making this tablet tough in all

senses of the word.

This rugged tablet also has a replaceable battery to ensure you can

maintain power even when there's no plug socket in sight.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A is one of the best Android tablets for

workers to date. A stylish yet practical device designed to be used by

anyone, due to its easy to use interface.

The sound quality of this device is exceptional with powerful speakers,

making it easy to hear from a distance.

It has an exceptional battery life with 6150 mAh making it a device

that will last the full day. 

Its a new model that is at a very reasonable price and is a favourite

amongst mobile working businesses.

The Pixel 3 has been called the best Android phone you can buy.

Although this phone is pricy, the earlier versions are also a good choice

when trying to minimise costs.
