For the third of Lifetime’s drama movies about Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle, it helped that the two stars had worked together before.

Jordan Dean and Sydney Morton appeared in a stage-musical version of “American Psycho,” but they clearly have much different roles in “Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace,” which the cable network debuts Monday, Sept. 6. The film recounts the massively reported split by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from their family, encompassing their candid, much-watched interview with Oprah Winfrey ... in which Meghan revealed that her strong feeling of isolation drove her to suicidal thoughts during her first pregnancy. (The couple welcomed their second child in June.)

Previously seen in the series “Manifest” and “She’s Gotta Have It,” pleasant actress Morton allows that she “never really got those comments, and I never thought it about myself ” regarding any resemblance to Meghan. “Then, a friend of mine said to me, ‘You know, you kind of look like Meghan Markle. Has anyone ever told you that?’ And I said, ‘No!’ And a week later, I got this audition, so I have to believe my friends manifested it for me.”

Morton, who spent time in England as a Royal Academy of Dramatic Art student, credits the movie’s “incredible hair and makeup team, and the wardrobe

people” with giving her even more of Meghan’s look. She notes she also “had so much material to help me get her body language and mannerisms down.”

Having another friend play Harry to her Meghan proved to be an immense help to Morton, also a singer-dancer who starred in a touring production of “Flashdance.” She laughs, “What are the odds?,” about being cast again opposite Dean. “You hope that you’ll connect with your scene partner, and I already knew that I could, so we were very excited that we got to do this together.”

Lifetime will repeat its first two movies in the franchise, “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance” and “Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal,” as well as “William & Kate” immediately before “Escaping the Palace” premieres. Morton realizes that with Meghan having been an actress – notably on the series “Suits” – there’s an extra challenge to being a performer playing someone who also is a performer.

“There is professional Meghan giving a statement, then there are those moments where you can tell she’s more vulnerable or caught off-guard,” Morton reasons. “I definitely think that as her time in the palace went on, we got to see more and more of her vulnerability coming out in interviews. I could identify with her presenting the version of herself that she wanted to, and also the version that is the ‘real’ Meghan.”

In the category of reclamation projects that became stars for the Los Angeles Dodgers, we present for your consideration Max Muncy.

Indeed in their All-Star first baseman, the Angelenos have a legitimate middle-of-the-order force who has gone from the proverbial outhouse to the penthouse in the space of five years and is now a big reason why the team is likely headed for another postseason appearance.

Selected in the fifth round by the Oakland A’s in the 2012 MLB Draft, the Dallas-area native put up solid numbers in the A’s system before being called up to the bigs in 2015. There, he floundered, hitting a combined .195 in 2015-16 with five home runs, 17 RBIs, a .290 on-base percentage and an unsightly .611 OPS in 96 games. After being designated for assignment just before the 2017 season, he was eventually released.

Signing a minor league deal with the Dodgers that year, he spent the season at Oklahoma City in the Pacific Coast League, retooled

his swing and surfaced with the Dodgers in 2018 a different hitter. He hit 35 homers in his first full year in Chavez Ravine in only 395 at-bats, to go along with a .263 average, a .391 on-base percentage and an OPS of .973.

A similar output followed in 2019, when he made his first All-Star appearance. His numbers fell off precipitously in the pandemic-abbreviated year of 2020, one that hurt a lot of players. But he’s returned to his customary level of play this season, through mid-August hitting .272 with 25 homers, 69 RBIs, a .402 on-base percentage and a .952 OPS. He also earned his second All-Star berth.

Muncy and the Dodgers can be seen in action Sunday, Sept. 5, when they conclude a three-game series in San Francisco against the NL West rival Giants in a game airing on ESPN.

Send summer out in style with a clambake

For the seafood lover, there is nothing quite as satisfying as a clambake.

Be it with lobster, shrimp, mussels, various filets of fish or, of course, everyone’s favorite mollusk, the sight of a pile of seafood steaming over a large pot of water and its accompanying aromas are enough to get the taste buds at attention and the mouth watering. It truly is a feast for the senses.

So if you’re at a loss for what to do for your next dinner party in the coming weeks, try out a clambake, outdoors or in. It’s easier than you think, especially with the guidance of the following online videos.

In a clip from NBC’s “Today” (www.youtube.com/watch?vlXY2KDrGmpc), Al Roker departs from his usual weather beat to show how to do a traditional New England clambake with clams, lobster, shrimp, corn, potatoes, kielbasa, onions, white wine and various seasonings in a large pot. He also demonstrates the critical prep work that needs to be done (rinsing the sand from the clams; removing the beards from the mussels) before they go in the water.

On the “Cooking Everything Outdoors Show” (www.youtube.com/watch?vW1A7uGhk9Qw), Greg from Ballistic BBQ proves you don’t need to live near a beach to produce an authentic clambake. Here, he employs his Weber

Kettle in which he alternates layers of charcoal and rocks to produce radiant heat. “Movie: Something’s Gotta Give”Diane Keaton had her best role in years — and a nude scene — by reteaming with writer-director Nancy Meyers (“Baby Boom”) on this delightful 2003 romantic comedy. The playwright mother (Keaton) of a womanizer’s (Jack Nicholson) latest conquest (Amanda Peet) becomes his new love target. When he has a medical crisis, the much younger doctor (Keanu Reeves) also falls for her.

“Movie: Only the Brave”One of the most inexplicable box-office failures of 2017, Joseph Kosinski’s bi-ographical drama, adapted from a story in GQ, is a heartbreaking yet uplifting tribute to the Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite crew of firefighters who gave their lives in 2013 while fighting the Yarnell Hill wild-fire in Arizona. Josh Brolin, Miles Teller and Jennifer Connelly head a fine cast.
