Week 5: “A New Narrative in Jesus” Presented by Dan Stokman and Fr. Joseph Bambenek We are now likely in a place of letting ourselves be loved more by Jesus. Even if our wounds have been healed, they are likely still fresh. We are invited to continue to let the salve of Jesus' healing love bring comfort, and the love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to nurture and tend those freshly healed wounds. The Advent Sharing Tree ~ 2020 Advent quickly approaches and like everything else this year it looks a bit different. The Sharing Tree will again be in the Courtyard by Thanksgiving and ready for you to take an ornament and fulfill the request for either a Cub or Aldi’s Card, a Gas Card, or a Target Card which will then be used to help parishioners or community members who need assistance.

This year has been one which has put many people in very difficult spots due to the virus which has hurt folks physically and economically. In April of 2020 we ran out of gift cards due the great need of folks, but you rallied and donated additional cards which have carried us through the year until now. Since the Courtyard is not frequented as much as in years past, this year we will have a basket in the back of church in addition to the Sharing Tree in the Courtyard. The basket will have some of the same ornaments which the children have made requesting gift cards.

In this most challenging year you have risen up and have been there for those in need. We know that your generosity continues even when some of you, your families and friends have been affected by the virus. Still you continue to give from the heart. We don’t hesitate to express our early thank you for your support of this year’s Advent Sharing Tree. As we wade through this winter, you may know of others who might be hurting even more than many of us. So thank you in advance for continuing to help those who need some assistance. May you continue to see Christ in one another, show the Christ who is within you and share His love through your acts of kindness and generosity. May God keep you safe and may you grow strong as you see the wounded Christ in those who are hurting and reach out to help. Your Sharing Tree gifts may be returned to the parish office, placed in the collection basket, or you can make a donation online at www.stodilia.org under “Give Online” tab. Proceeds will be used to purchase a gift card for someone in need. ~Blessings, the Pastoral Care Council and the staff at St. Odilia

Velar, quiere decir estar despier-to mientras otros duermen.

©LPi
