THE BOARD OF REGENTS

The Board of Regents of the University of Hawaii is composedof seven members, five of whom are appointed by the Governor ofthe Territory for a term of five years, and two are membersex-officio: the President of the Board of Agriculture and Forestry,and the President of the University.

DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDSDisbursement of funds ~ppropriated by the Territorial Legislature

of Hawaii for the support of the University is by the territorialtreasurer upon warrants issued by the territorial auditor. uponvouchers approved by the Board of Regents.

Funds received by the University from other sources, except fromthe federal government, are turned into the territorial treasuryand disbursed in the same manner as appropriated funds.

The University of Hawaii is a Land Grant College and as suchsh~res on the same basis as the states in federal appropriationsprovided by the several Acts of Congress for the aid of agriculturalinstruction, extension and research. This money is disbursed bythe treasurer of the university upon vouchers approved by theBoal'd of Regents and subject to audit by the territorial auditoras well as by federal officers.

*The figure in parenthesis after the name indicates the year in whichservice began.
