Tho weather throughout tho yearhas been fnvornble for growingcrops; during tho earlier months oftho year wo had good rains and aplentiful supply of fresh water In ourditches. No pumping was requireduntil tho 1st of May, when we hadto start up all of our pumps at botl.stations.
Crop of 1907. Tho harvesting orthis crop was begun Feb. lDth, andfinished July 22nd. Tho estimate ofthis crop was 4,200 tons and tho act-
ual output for the year was 3,917.-G4- 6
tons sugar. The shortage wasundoubtedly caused by tho very1 eavy rains in January starting avigorous growth in the-can- e then bo-l-
milled, and consequently render-ing a very low purity of Juice.
Crop of 1908. Wo commenced har-vesting this crop on Jan. 20th, 1908.Wo have 204 ncres of plant cane, 254acres of first ratoons nnd 2G2 acresof third rntoons, making the totalnrea to be milled for this crop 710acres. I estimate this crop 4.400tons of commercial sugar.
Crop of 1909. this wo haveplanted 24.1,80 acres nnd have nowunder cultivation 314.35 acres offirst ratoons, 101.35 of second ra-toons, and 92.75 acres of third ra-
toons. The planting of this cropwas completed July 22d, 1907, andnil of tho ratoon cane taken undercultivation nt tho proper season.
All of tho enno for the 1909 crophnd its first application of mixed fer-
tilizer not later than Nov. 20th andtho becand application will be com-pleted not Inter than March 20th,1908, leavjng only the addition of ni-
trates to the fields of this crop to beattended to during the harvest sea- -son of 1908.
Pumping Plnnts. Throughout thecar Just closed tho work of all our
pumps has been reliable and good, there having been no serious stop ofany kind.
