French or Spanish

Enrolling in French or Spanish can help you on your way to college. French Ill and IV are using college level book.s which were purchased at the beginning of 13~G. The enroament for Spanish and French was also higher than in previous years.

Senor Mejia and Madame Wilson both hope that students gain a feeling of accomplishment and a beffer understanding of the Language. They also hope students become acquainted with and appreciate other wlfures. Deciding which Language to choose is sometimes hard, but both Languages open up a new world.

Spanish students took. a trip to Mexico over the summer and are hoping to travel to Spain in the summer of 13~~- Some French students went to France during Spring Break. with a teacher from Pinckney High School and also to Quebec, Canada over summer vacation.

The ~G-~7 school year has brought many· opportunities and learning experiences for both French and Spanish students.

Band Whafwould we do if we didn 'f

have a school hand? There would he no halftime shows and no concerts fo go fo. Lucky for us, 75 si!Adenfs participated in hand so we could have fhese special evenfs.

Several hand sfudenfs also wenffo Solo and Ensemhle where

----._they performed a solo or performed in small groups. Some of these groups received a raHng of one, which is the hesf score , and were ahle fo go fo sfafe compeHHon.

For compefrHon , the hand had fo play class A music insfead of class B. The reason for this is hecause school enrollmenf was up, causing the hand fo he in a class A

compeHHon range. This puf more pressure on the hand since the music was fougher and judging was sfricfer. Practice and selfdiscipline was a musf, since the hand was more aggressive foward their playing than they had heen in the pasf. Mr. Rice said this adjusfmenf was a fairly smooth one.

We should he glad fo have these falenfed sfudenfs in our school fo help with school spirif. Hopefully, they will conHnue fo improve and receive our supporf.

Small Talk Smaf{ talk. is an imporfant form of communication for teenagers around the world. Lisfening in on a
