Malaysia Kelantan from 16 June 2015 until 14 June 2018. As DVCAI I was responsible to enhanced UMK’s academic integrity and governance. Among my accomplishment at UMK includes the appointment of Dean of Undergraduate to foresee the transformation of UMK’s academic programs to broad-based and the introduction of 2u2i and 3u1i programs. Among other accomplishment includes intensifying MOOC production through staff training, introducing UMK’s part time degree programs, transforming the business school and improving ties with top universities in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines while strengthening collaboration with Babson College, the top entrepreneurship school in the world.

17. Appointed as Dean of UTM International Business School from March 2010 to Feb

2015. I was given the task to transform the school from a center of excellence to a full fledge business school. Alhamdulillah I had transformed the center with initially 324 MBA students in 2010 to a full fledge business school with 720 students in MBA, PhD and DBA programs in 2015. For the last 3 years of my deanship, the school has contributed revenue amounting to more than RM8 million through academics and executive programs.

18. Appointed as Council Member of the Association of Asia Pacific Business School (AAPBS) since November 2014. AAPBS is a coalition of Asia’s top 150 business organizations and business schools, from India to Australia - New Zealand to ASEAN to China and Japan. Its mission is to advance the quality of business education, through collaboration of sundry players in the business community. Being the only member in the Council from Malaysia my role is to assist in identify best practices and industry needs, and to drive the development of new business curriculum and programs.

19. Appointed as facilitator for Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Global Strategic Planning

Workshop and UTM 2014 Board of Directors Retreat with UTM top management. My role with 3 other facilitators is to assist the university to develop the next phase of UTM global plan from 2015 to 2020. We had to facilitate 3 workshops and two town hall meetings involving UTM staff of all level and members of the Board of Director. A book will be published which was used by members of the University as guideline for UTM future strategic direction.

20. Engagement with Harvard Business School, MIT Entrepreneurship Center, Smeal

School of Business Management at Penn State University from 17 to 23 August 2014 through an academic visit. The purpose of the visit is to meet and discuss with Prof Richard Vietor of HBS, the International Advisor for IBS. The visit to MIT Entrepreneurship Center is to discuss on future potential collaboration. While the purpose of visit to Smeal is to discuss possible collaboration on research and staff and students exchange program with IBS.

21. Steering & Technical Committee member for the MOE Public-Private Research

Network (PPRN), which is responsible for organizing and awarding grants, together with MTDC, to university researchers selected to solve specific industry problems. In the last the Budget Report for 2015, the YAB Prime Minister has announced an allocation of RM50 million for this project.

22. Appointed as Chairman of Malaysia Graduate Business School Deans Council since December 2013. As the Council avails itself for expert opinion and advice in matters that may influence policy decision and implementation of business education. at the universities. Deans’ Council takes a proactive stance in promoting and advancing the cause of quality in all aspects and levels of Business education. The Council has always been in the forefront giving useful and significant input for final adoption and implementation of Malaysia Top Business School instrument.

23. Chairman of the Association of the Advanced Collegiate School of Business (AACSB)

Steering committee since 2013. AACSB international accreditation is important to UTM IBS as employers want quality business graduates from quality business schools. Thus my role as Chairman is to ensure the all accreditation activities is implemented within the required time frame and specifications.

24. A member of the UTM Endowment Fund Steering Committee since 2013. As a

member of the committee we are committed towards raising funds from individuals, organizations or companies. We have identified a number of activities and initiatives and implemented them. Since it’s establishment since in 2010, more than RM3.5 million has been collected and the contributions have been increasing steadily.

25. A member of UTM Entrepreneurship and Innovation Steering Committee since 2014.

The role of the committee, headed by the Vice Chancellor, is to established long-term strategy, provides input and guidance on the direction of entrepreneurship education and development in UTM.

26. A member of Kolej Teknologi Darulnaim (KTD) (Kota Bahru) Board of Directors since

2008. As member of the Board my role is to advice the Kolej on the direction of entrepreneurship education, development and programs that will create graduates of KTD who generate jobs instead of seeking jobs.
