1. Drug discount cards offer instant savings on medications. To use, go online and type the name of the drug, dose, number of pills, and where you live. Then you’ll
see what you can expect to pay at various pharmacies using the discount coupon, which you can print out or download to your phone to show the pharmacist. 2. Most commonly prescribed medications are free to $7.50 for a 90-day supply at Publix and $4 for a 30-day supply or $10 for a 90-day supply at Walmart.
Typically includes antibiotics, vitamins, blood pressure, heart, and diabetes medication. It may be cheaper to pay out of pocket and bypass your insurance. 3. Provides which alternative medications are covered, restrictions, and quantity limits by your insurance.

Tips & Tricks § Express cost concerns with doctor
before leaving appointment § Bring a copy of your insurer’s list of
preferred prescription drugs to your appointment
§ If your medication comes in more than one strength, consult doctor about splitting the higher strength tablets to reduce cost
§ Check for generic medications that are always offered for free or low-cost at Publix, Walmart2, and Costco
§ Ask doctor/pharmacist if an OTC drug or a similar, less expensive generic medication would work just as well as the one you’re currently taking
§ Use a combination medication instead of two separate medications
§ Ask for a 90-day prescription rather than a 30-day prescription to avoid paying multiple co-pays

If you are a resident of DeKalb or Fulton County, you may be eligible for a Grady card to access the Grady Pharmacy. For an appointment with a Financial Counselor, please call 404-616-6920.
If you have a rare disease, you may qualify for assistance from the National Organization for Rare Disorders, 1-800-999-6673.
If you are a veteran, the VA offers prescription drug coverage for retired veterans, their families, and survivors.
If you have Medicare, contact GeorgiaCares, 1-866-552-4464, to receive help from the State Health Insurance Assistance Program. Medicare also offers extra help with premiums and out-of-pocket costs to qualifying low-income beneficiaries who participate in Medicare Part D.
Financial Assistance Program If you live in Fulton or DeKalb County, Grady Health System and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta - Hughes Spalding offers discounted care under a Financial Assistance Program to qualified individuals for emergency and medically necessary services. Eligible patients will not be charged more than amounts generally billed to those with insurance.
