Welcome to St. Joseph’s College(Autonomous) JakhamaNAAC Accredited A Grade 2016

St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Jakhama is a Catholic institution of higher education established and managed by the Diocese of Kohima, Nagaland. It aims at imparting quality higher education that is based on the Christian Vision of Life and also to create leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals who can contribute towards the development of the Society, State and the Nation at large. The college was inaugurated on 19th March 1985 and at present it is located in a spacious campus in Jakhama Village, about 18 kms from Kohima, along the National Highway. The subtle ambience, serenity and vibrancy of the campus emanate an empowering environment. The intellectual capital, the right mix of academic and co-curricular activities helps the students in enhancing their knowledge which helps them throughout their career.

At present the college is offering Bachelor Courses in Economics, English, Education, Political Science, Sociology and History in Arts, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Zoology in Science, Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and PG Course in English, Sociology and Political Science with a total students strength of about 3800. Since its inception the college is growing higher and higher with its motto of “ARISE AND SHINE”.Spring Fest is an annual Intra College

The main objectives of this fest are:

• To provide opportunities to the students to value and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas.

• To cultivate and showcase student's talent in various activities like Folk Song, Folk Dance, Naga Wrestling, Bamboo Pole climbing, Ethnic Fashion Show and Art Exhibition.

Cultural Fest organised in the month of March. During its nascent stage in the year 2014 it was celebrated for one day only ( but with its success every year, the fest is now celebrated for two days. The fest now provides platform for students from all walks of life to compete in various events and to build their confidence, personality and self belief. These events enable the students to hone their skills and talents to evolve into professionals of the highest order. The fest provides a platform for students to tap their potential and unravel their hidden talents. Students from various streams/disciplines get an opportunity to compete, interact and acknowledge one another. It will bestow students with an unforgettable learning experience as the 7th SPRING FEST offers a whole gamut of events and experts from the field of ART & CULTUTRE, MUSIC BANDS, TRADITIONAL SPORTS, FASHION and HUMANITIES.

About Spring Fest

GLIMPSE 6th Spring Fest 20198th-9th March 2019: Innovators Club in collaboration with the Students' Council St Joseph's College, Jakhama organised the 6th Spring Fest with the theme “Aroma of Culture”. The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Lily Sema Principal, Kohima Science College (Jotsoma as the Guest Speaker.

Mengu Suokhrie enthralled the crowd with her mesmerising voices and special appearances were made by the Polar Lights, Table 3, M-Dox where they made everyone fall in love with Rock Music. The Spring Fest gave a platform to all Josephites to showcase their talents in various events such as Traditional Car Race, Folk Dance, Bamboo Walk, Traditional Fire Making Competition, Ethnic Fashion Show, Beat Contest, Modern Dance, Naga Wrestling, Photography and many more.
