Caterpillar D8R Dozer Engine Oil Filtration

Installation Procedure

Plant Number: RJM 00421, DZ 4006, DZ 4007

As viewed from cab, UDF Engine Oil

Filter is mounted on the right hand

side of the machine, outside the

engine compartment. Remove this

plate and using mounting bracket as a

template, align 2 bottom holes of

bracket with 2 bottom holes of the

plate. Drill 2 top holes Ø 13 and

secure bracket to plate.

Once UDF filter have been fitted to

mounting bracket, fit 2x Adaptor -

6JIC-8ORB (0608-F50X-S) to the UDF

IN & OUT on filter head. Connect 2x

3/8” blue hose O/L 450 to the

adaptors just fitted.

Drill two holes in through the top

cover plate shown. Fit bulkheads into

newly drilled holes and connect the 2

pipes from UDF filter.

Route the pipes along the existing

pipe in the engine compartment,

securing with the use of p clamps

down to the take off and return

points.

NB: After installing all components, using p clamps supplied, neaten installation by

clamping all pipe work to existing pipes, brackets etc.

Remove OEM sample point here and

fit Tee Adaptor (09-02-UFN-EO-R) in

its place, fit sample point in rear of

adaptor. Connect ¼” blue hose to the

adaptor, this will be your supply to

UDF Filter.

Remove OEM blank plate and replace

with pre made plate (CAT-D8R-RP)

with adaptor – 6JIC-4NPT m/m (IJN-

06-04). Connect 3/8” blue hose to the

adaptor in the plate, this will be your

return from UDF Filter to engine.
