PROTECTION AGAINST NOISE – ACOUSTIC INSULATION

PROTECTION AGAINST BURGLARY

Ten years ago, 99% of customers buying doors (no matter whether the door was intended for a single-family house or a block of flats) did not pay much attention to acoustic insulation of the door, and the deciding factor when choosing the door was their price, aesthetics or resistance to burglary. It often happened that customers with higher requirements (especially in buildings from the so-called big slab) installed double doors. Currently, in addition to doors that meet the requirements of building regulations the customer has possibility of buying a door with parameters from so-called Top shelf, after additional payment for additional cost. This possibility is caused by the fact that the company has its own original (patent application) technology for the production of special fire-soundproofing so-called acoustic panel for which the company received two gold medals during International Fair Budma 2014 and 2015. The best comparison we have between door Special 56S and Master 56KR, which are identical in construction but differ with the filling. The difference in acoustic insulation of 12 dB means almost four times better protection against noise.

There is no anti-burglary door! This is name used only colloquially. The only correct and legal term is the term "door with increased burglary resistance" class RC according to norm EN1627. Moreover, the increased resistance of the door to burglary depends on the tools that the burglar has, and the time needed to open the door with the help of these tools. An important factor is what kind of room will the door protect: with low, medium or high risk of burglary.Norm UE (EN 1627) classifies the door (in terms of resistance to burglary) on classes from 1 to 6.In general, in houses and in technical rooms below mentioned doors are used:

Class RC1 - without burglary resistance tests – could be open with a kick, shoulder or otherwise using the strength of human muscles.

Class RC2 - they protect the room min. 3 minutes before a burglar equipped with a screwdriver, hammer or pliers only.Class RC3 - they protect the room min. 5 minutes against the experienced burglar, equipped with a steel crowbar, screwdrivers, a hammer, a mechanical drill and wedges.

Class RC4 - they protect the room for min. 10 minutes against an experienced burglar, equipped - in addition to the tools from the class 3 - with a heavy hammer, saw, chisel and ax

It needs to be highlighted that above given burglary times are taken from the research standards and refer to the "experienced burglar". These are net times, meaning that do not take into account the time needed to change tools not time to analyze unexpected situations during the burglary. In practice, burglary times of the above methods are 2 or 3 times longer, which means that the RC2 class doors can surprise the accidental burglar and discourage him from further forcing the door. On the other hand, RC3 and RC4 class doors are for the burglars an unexpected firewall that requires either too much time to force them or the use of noisy tools that can draw neighbours attention, which means effective protection. There is no perfect, especially one way of protection. The optimal solution is mechanical protection (door), electronic protection (alarm), insurance and a good neighbor. It should also be noted that only the doors in the RC3 class are considered to be truly anti-burglary, because the insurance company PZU only from this class of door provides customers with maximum discounts in housing insurance. Many people wrongly think that thieves try to break in at night, or when homeowners are on vacation.It turns out that they also are intensively active during the day when residents are at work or just for a few hours they are not at home. Statistics from 2014 regarding break-ins into homes and apartments, based on the time needed to get into the building show that home burglaries done through the front door make up 38% of all attempts to break in and statistics concerning apartments reach level of more than 50%. Other way of break-ins are windows, balconies, gates and basements.

PROTECTION AGAINST HEAT LOSSES - THERMAL INSULATION

Rising energy prices, the fight against smog and changes in regulations impose on customers the obligation to use building materials (including doors) with better and better energy-saving parameters.The use of door with Ud = 1,6W/m K instead of door with Ud = 0,8W/m K means almost double loss of heat through the door at the difference between outside and inside temperature of 1C. It should also be remembered that the biggest heat loss (apart from improper assembly) is caused by bad sealing and the use of one-piece steel frames with the so-called cold profile. Delta Zbigniew Różycki company, in response to the market demand, offers energy-saving doors with the Termo ODS wood-and-steel door frame system (page 43), which thanks to the original solutions (patent notification) combines the advantages

The place of installing of the door, thermal insulation factor Ud: - Doors installed between heated rooms (eg. in block of flats) or doors installed in

unheated rooms, (eg. bower for garden equipment): thermal insulation of the door is not important and there are no requirements in this area.

- Doors installed in renovated houses between heated and unheated rooms: the importance of the thermal insulation of the door depends on the energy balance of the building. It is recommended to assembly external door with Ud≤ 1,5 W/m K but decision about the insulation class of the door belongs to the investor. Minimum requirements are defined by the regulations that were in force on the day of the building permit for the renovated house because you do not lose your acquired rights (recommended doors Delta Universal 56S, Special 56S and Premium 56S)

- External doors for new buildings installed between heated and unheated rooms: if the building permission was obtained in 2014-2016, the door must have Ud ≤ 1.7 W / m K, and from January 2017 the door must have Ud ≤ 1.5 W / m K (recommended door Delta Universal 56S, Special 56S and Premium 56S)

- Energy-saving and passive doors: it is commonly accepted that energy-saving doors are those that have Ud ≤ 1,2 W / m K (recommended for Delta Perfect 68X and Royal 84P doors), while the so-called passive doors have Ud ≤ 0.8 W / m K (recommended door Delta Royal 84P)

The need to install fire-proof or smoke-proof doors is known while during designing of investment, the firefighter applies to the project comments on the fulfillment of building regulations regarding fire protection. These regulations have usually been introduced as a result of some tragedy associated with the fire of a hall, hotel or other building when it turned out that if rooms or passageways were equipped with fire doors and other elements of the fire protection system, the consequences of the tragedy could have been be smaller or the tragedy could have been avoided because there would have been more time for evacuation. In many countries (regardless of the need to install fire doors in new buildings), the regulations require the installation of fire doors even when replacing old entrance doors in blocks of flats. Fire doors are classified according to two parameters: E - fire integrity and I - fire insulation. For example, EI30 means that fire flames will not go over to the other side of the door for 30 minutes. In addition, door temperature (medium and maximum at some point) will not transfer the fire to the next room. Fire doors protect the room in both directions because it is not known in advance from which side a fire may start. Smoke-proof doors, the Sa Sm symbol means that when the door is heated (it can happen even within tens of minutes), the smoke flow between the door and the door frame will be small. It should be highlighted that regardless of taking care of own safety (entrance doors to apartments, doors in escape routes, boiler room doors in single-family houses, doors to technical rooms in companies, etc.), fire doors and other accessories of the fire protection system are covered by very strict provisions of the construction law, in particular it applies to the absolute following the rules of assembly instructions and in regard to the installation of an expanding (expansion) gasket.

Installation of the fanlights DELTA removes the validity of the burglary resistance certificate obtained for the door itself.

The fanlights are designed for rooms with low or moderate danger of burglary. The frame of the fanlights is made of a combination of coniferous glued wood and steel sheet in the color of the door, like the wooden frames of Termo ODS type. The 29mm thick double-glazing unit is built from the inside with a low-E glass, strengthened with a P2 class, and from the outside we offer a reflex glass, decormat, Venetian mirror or L5 decormat.Thermal transferability of the glass is 1.1. Wood-steel ODS fanlights have much higher thermal insulation than steel fanligts.In addition, their assembly is significantly simplified.

ATTENTION!!!- The door frame and fanlights are designed to be put on the level of finished floor.- The edges of the bottom of the side fanlights and the finished floor must be insulated with a material like sanitary silicone or montage glue that rainwater can not get into the room.- Tolerance of dimensions: up to 1m+/-1mm, more than 1m+/-2mm- Considering the combination of many elements of PCV laminated sheet (fanlights, door frames, doors) with a thickness of 0.5mm, 0.7mm and 1.5mm coming from variety of supplies - there may be differences in shades and PVC film structure which

How to clean, care for and maintain door fittings, including INOX fittings?

While during construction works, it is absolutely nece-ssary to protect stainless steel elements against coating damages and scratches by lubricating with oil or technical vaseline and putting on a protective film. After completion of construction works, take care and maintain as described above. Do not weld near stainless steel elements, do not cut with an angle grinder and do not dust with other coatings and steel dust, because it is these impurities depositing on the surface of stainless steel elements that corrode.

The A2 handrail use the handle holes and the rosette of the upper lock in the door. The Delta GI18 electronic handles opened with a digital code, keyring or proximity card and Delta GZF opened by means of a fingerprint or digital code are especially recommended for flats and office rooms inside buildings.They can be used wherever we do not want to carry a key, and there is no increased risk of burglary. The system only blocks the operation of the external handle, which is unlocked from the latch (tongue) of the lock. You can open the door from the outside at any time using the profile insert key or from the inside using the inner handle. Closing with the key of the profile insert causes the slide bolt to be pulled out mechanically, which makes it impossible to open the door without using the profile insert key. DELTA electronic door handles can be used for any DELTA door model inside the building and for most other manufacturers' doors available on the market.
