Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh dan Salam Sejahtera.

Alhamdulillah, syukur ke hadrat Allah S.W.T kerana dengan limpah kurniaNya Politeknik

Ungku Omar telah dapat menganjurkan Pertandingan dan Pameran Projek Inovasi Pelajar

2017 (SPICE’17) yang disertai oleh Politeknik dan kolej komuniti.

SPICE’17 adalah satu wadah inovasi dan penyelesai masalah dalam industri dan komuniti.

Usaha ini merupakan inisiatif Politeknik Ungku Omar untuk memperkukuh penyelidikan dan

inovasi bagi merealisasikan matlamat Malaysia menjadi negara maju dan inklusif selaras den-

gan Wawasan 2020. Ini juga adalah selari dengan Kerangka Transformasi Politeknik agar

menjadi politeknik yang inovatif, kreatif dan responsif. Ia juga merupakan salah satu platform

untuk pelajar dan pensyarah Politeknik dan Kolej Komuniti Malaysia menyelaras aktiviti

inovasi ke arah perkongsian dan pengujian idea dalam mewujudkan nilai inovasi baharu.

Dengan adanya penganjuran pertandingan seperti ini sebenarnya ia mampu memberi suntikan

semangat berdaya saing dalam diri setiap peserta untuk terus berusaha kuat meningkatkan

keupayaan, pengetahuan dan pengalaman dalam bidang kepakaran masing-masing agar

mampu bertanding dan setanding dengan keupayaan penyelidikan peringkat global.

Akhir kata, tahniah dan syabas saya ucapkan kepada Urusetia serta semua jawatankuasa pelak-

sana atas inisiatif dan usaha gigih dalam menjayakan SPICE’17.

ABSTRAK

TR3 adalah gabungan nama troli roda tiga. Troli yang dimaksudkan disini adalah

kenderaan yang berperanan untuk memudahkan kerja-kerja mengangkut bahan-

bahan yang berat dan besar dalam kuantiti yang banyak. Roda tiga pula ialah ta-

yar yang berfungsi untuk menggerakkan troli dalam apa jua keadaan. TR3 mem-

punyai kelebihan dapat mengangkut barang menaiki tangga tanpa perlu susah

payah memegang barang-barang tersebut dari jatuh.TR3 mudah digunakan oleh

sesiapa sahaja, terutamanya golongan pekedai dan individu yang sudah berumur

untuk mengangkut barang penggunaan mereka ke tempat yang dikehendaki. TR3

dapat menjimatkan duit individu dari membeli troli moden di pasaran yang mahal

dan terhad penawarannya.Sistem sambungan engsel digunapakai bagi menjadikan

TR3 mudah dilipat jika tidak mahu digunakan.Pin klip pula dapat membantu ba-

hagian dinding utama TR3 berdiri tegak dan L braket dijadikan tetulang untuk

tapak TR3.Lebihan kepingan-kepingan kayu kerja amali dicantum bersama

engsel bagi menjadikan ruang dinding TR3 nampak lebih kemas dan mudah un-

tuk mengangkut barang-barang.

ABSTRAK

GAB bermaksud Gerai Air Bergerak. Ilham untuk menghasilkan GAB tercetus

apabila pengguna sering hadapi masalah untuk membawa produk jualan air ke

kawasan perniagaan yang terbuka.GAB direka dari gabungan engsel serta kepin-

gan lebihan kayu kerja amali di bengkel, beserta dengan gabungan bahan-bahan

terpakai seperti penarik troli bagasi.Polistrin untuk membekalkan kiub ais turut

digunapakai, bagi membolehkan ketulan ais tidak mudah mencair. Sedikit pen-

gubahsuaian pada bahagian polistrin untuk memastikan kiub ais dapat dialir ke-

luar dengan mudah serta tiada lebihan cecair sejuk yang turun keluar bersama

ketulan ais sebelum bercampur dengan air yang hendak diminum.GAB menga-

malkan konsep 3R, iaitu reduce, reuse dan recyle. Sifat reduce yang diaplikasikan

adalah mengurangkan kos belian kayu yang mahal dengan menggunakan sisa

kayu amali di bengkel. Sifat reuse yang diaplikasikan pula ialah meggunakan

semula engsel-engsel dari almari-almari lama yang rosak di stor bengkel. Semen-

tara sifat recyle yang diaplikasikan pula ialah menggunakan semula penarik troli

bagasi bagi memudahkan GAB bergerak.

ABSTRAK

Ilham untuk menghasilkan MH ( Multifunction Hanger ) tercetus apabila para

pelajar menghadapi kesukaran untuk menyidai pakaian di kawasan bilik asrama

dan rumah sewa. MH direka dari gabungan paip PVC yang boleh diubahlaras

bukaanya dan digantung pada mana-mana kawasan dinding. Saiznya yang boleh

dipanjang dan dipendekkan menjadikannya ia mudah dipasang serta boleh di-

cabut-cabut jika tidak mahu digunakan.MH direka dengan kaedah penggunaan

yang mesra pengguna. Meskipun sasaran penggunanya adalah para pelajar yang

duduk di asrama mahupun rumah sewa. MH turut direka agar dapat digunakan

oleh individu yang sering keluar bekerja di luar kawasan dan memerlukan ruang

penyidai baju tambahan untuk disangkut di bilik-bilik hotel penginapan.

ABSTRAK

MFB bermaksud Model Fertigasi Bergerak. Model ini direka setelah mendapat

ilham untuk menyampaikan cara termudah penanaman fertigasi itu dilaksanakan.

Secara ringkas fertigasi bermakna kaedah penanaman melalui pemberian air baja

secara larutan dan kemudiannya disalurkan ke akar melalui titisan. MFB meru-

pakan satu set alat bantu mengajar berkonsepkan kejuruteraan. Rekaannya yang

tersendiri dan boleh diubahsuai kedudukannya menjadikan MFB mudah diangkut

dan dibawa kemana-mana pusat pameran. MFB mengunakan beberapa elemen

kejuruteraan bagi memudahkan pemahaman kumpulan sasaran. Kumpulan sa-

saran yang dimaksudkan disini adalah pelajar-pelajar yang sedang mempelajari

topik teknologi hijau mahupun kumpulan petani moden. MFB juga diharapkan

dapat membantu memudahkan penerangan bagaimana kaedah fertigasi dapat

diaplikasikan disekitar bangunan dengan mudah, meskipun ruang kawasan yang

ada hanya seluas 1meter persegi sahaja.

ABSTRAK

VFM bermaksud Vertical Fertigation Model. VFM merupakan kepingan kayu

yang boleh dilipat dan dilaras ketinggiannya serta dibina secara tegak (vertikal)

menggunakan kepingan kayu bagi meyusun botol-botol yang mengandungi sayur

berdaun, yang dibaja pertumbuhannya meggunakan kaedah titisan air baja. VFM

direka secara teknikalnya untuk memudahkan pokok-pokok ini membesar tanpa

memerlukan kawasan tanah. Pokok-pokok ini akan membesar hanya pada bekas

botol tersebut yang mengandungi sabut kelapa serta mudah dialihkan peng-

gunaannya jika terdapat keperluan pada ruang tersebut. VFM turut direka sebagai

alat bantu mengajar yang mudah diangkut bagi tujuan pameran pendidikan

berteraskan kejuruteraan teknikal.

ABSTRAK

SBT bermakna smart barbinder table. SBT direkabentuk untuk memudahkan

kerja-kerja meluruskan, memotong serta membengkokkan besi tetulang dalam

pelbagai saiz diameter (maksimum 20mm). Semua proses kerja ini, boleh dilaku-

kan oleh SBT. SBT direka bagi menyelesaikan masalah untuk mengajar amali

tetulang pada pelajar-pelajar. Peralatan sedia ada di bengkel yang tidak begitu

membantu memudahkan pelajar melaksanakan kerja amali, terutamanya pelajar

perempuan yang tidak kuat tenaganya, kesan situasi ini telah mendorong SBT

dihasilkan. SBT turut boleh dibawa ke luar kawasan kampus, jika ada keperluan

penggunaannya kerana saiznya yang tidak besar serta mudah ditarik keluar ber-

dasarkan rekaanya yang seperti beg bagasi. SBT bersifat mesra pengguna, kerana

meskipun tiada asas kerja-kerja pembengkokan dan pemotongan tetulang, namun

semua pengguna yang menggunakannya boleh membengkok dan memotong tetu-

lang.

ABSTRACT

Microorganisms are living abundantly on earth. Their functions to degrade dead

materials are very helpful in reducing contamination and converting biomass into

useful products. The bioreactor are instruments that are used to upscaling the

number of microbes with the ability to degrade materials. The parameters are

identified for an optimum growth of the microbes. In this project, the microbes

that are involved in degrading tea waste are being upscaled to produced more

cells continuously and become new products in market.

ABSTRACT

The development of technology has brought many benefits to the technical, engi-

neering and manufacturing fields. Today, there are different types of new prod-

ucts that are produced to meet consumer and market demand. For example, side

table has a standard height that is suitable to be placed at the house side corner

and dining table is usually design for eating place. This 2 in 1 Adjustable project

were been carried out to create an ergonomic design which provide 2 in 1 func-

tion in one design. Other than that, this design also help the user to save the space

in a house especially those who are living in condominium and flat. User can get

two table simultaneously which is dining table and side table in one product.

Most existing side table and dining table in the market cannot be adjusted and are

static. Thus, when the idea of "adjustable height and width“ in this project were

been applied, the width of table top can be adjusted and the table leg also can be

adjusted according to the individual height and its function. Besides, user can

save money by buying one product but can get two benefits in one design. This is

why ergonomics is very important in furniture design.

ABSTRAK

Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) dan particle board adalah papan yang dihasi-

lakan dari kombinasi habuk serta serat kayu yang dipadatkan dalam tekanan yang

tinggi . Penggunaan bahan MDF dan partical board amat meluas dalam industri

perabut disebabkan harga kayuan yang mahal pada masa ini. Namun begitu, ma-

salah utama dalam penggunaan MDF dan partical board adalah ketahan yang

rendah terhadap air, mengeluarkan habuk yang halus serta mudah hancur.

Menerusi kajian ini, kesesuaian tempurung kelapa sebagai medium asas meng-

gantikan habuk kayu dalam penghasilan MDF dan partical board dikaji.

ABSTRACT

Cucumber and peppermint are the main elements used as pest repellent. These elements

were used to repel cockroach and ants. Cucumis sativus or commonly known as cucumber

is from popular planted plants of cucurbits or family of pumpkin Cucurbitaceae. Besides

that, the cucumber itself is used widely by many people as an odour repellent in their

house due to its nature as an insect repellent. Whereas, the Mentha piperita also used in

this study to repel the pest and insects. Mentha piperita or commonly known as peppermint

or “pudina“ is a genus of plants in the mint family. Peppermint is a common culinary plant

in Europe and the Middle East which are used as an additive to give a pleasant aroma.

Besides the aromatic value, the leaves of the plants are used widely as pest and insects

repellency properties. Cockroaches and ants are insects that inhibit public places like resi-

dential areas, hospitals and food processing and serving areas. These insects have potential

to physically carry and transmits many pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa

and helminths. The test is done to determine which concentration is most effective to repel

the insect, to measure the duration of effectiveness of concentration towards insects, and to

evaluate candles and kitchen spray and as commercialise product for anti-repellent

kitchen spray and as commercialise product for anti-repellent activity. The repel-

lency test is tested using cucumber powder, peppermint powder and the combination of

both powders after placing the cockroach and ant in the test box. The scented candle and

kitchen spray are the product produced after the first test is successful. The best concentra-

tion that repels the cockroaches is 1 g/ml peppermint solution. The duration of effective-

ness of the peppermint powder , candle product and kitchen spray are respectively 3 hours.

This test was success only for cockroaches not ants for the peppermint powder.

ABSTRACT

This study discusses the production of concrete that has been replaced with light-

weight concrete. A concrete block used as a marker during floods. This product

has been named "FLOODED ROAD STUD (FLORAST)". This product has been

inspired by our supervisor, PN. Mazziyatol Farizza Binti Mat along with the re-

sults of our discussion. This FLORAST works for use as a signage building mate-

rial. Furthermore, this FLORAST can help road users in the flood. Additionally,

it can help road users and rescue to use the roads when flooded. The maximum

water level is 1.2m for road users. FLORAST is a buoyant tool to float itself.

Among the uses of FLORAST is a road marker during the flood. FLORAST is

applied behind the railing road. The size of FLORAST is 90mmx90mmx40mm.

The maximum height FLORAST for floating 1.2m. Materials used are Portland

cement, fiberglass, polystyrene, and waterproof water. In addition, the ratio used

to produce FLORAST is 2: 2: 3: 1. polystyrene and fiberglass are used to replace

coarse and fine aggregates. In addition, water resistant water is used to produce

waterproof concrete. "FLORAST" was created using "interlocking" mechanism

to keep the position unmanaged. The materials used for interlocking are PVC and

iron pole. While PVC pipe will be planted with concrete in the center. In addition,

FLORAST is also painted with light reflecting paint.

ABSTRAK

Kadar pengeluaran gas rumah hijau telah meningkat secara mendadak disebabkan

pertambahan bilangan pengguna jalanraya sejak beberapa tahun yang lalu. Kae-

dah pemantauan dilakukan di simpang lampu isyarat dan kadar perlepasan asap

kenderaan yang ditetapkan untuk mengurangkan kadar pengeluaran gas rumah

hijau . Objektif kajian adalah untuk mengurangkan gas berbahaya daripada dihi-

rup oleh kebanyakan penunggang motosikal dan orang awam dan juga untuk

menghasilkan konsep projek. Keseluruhan konsep adalah diinspirasikan daripada

penapis udara dalam rumah yang sedia ada . Projek ini mempersembahkan kipas

yang menyedut bahan tercemar dan seterusnya akan menapis asap yang menge-

luarkan gas rumah hijau . Ujian Bunyi dan Ujian Efektif Kipas dijalankan untuk

memastikan alat yang dibangunkan tidak mengakibatkan pencemaran bunyi dan

untuk memastikan kadar penyedutan kipas berupaya untuk menyedut asap

kenderaan pada tahap optimum. Hasil daripada ujian yang dilakukan akan men-

gurangkan kadar pengurangan gas rumah hijau , mengurangkan kesan kepada

penunggang motorsikal dan juga mengurangkan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh

gas yang berbahaya.

value solid waste as a source. This issue has been selected to be done as a project. Based

on studies, solid waste segregation should be based on the composition that JPSPN

(Jabatan Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal Negara).So that more efficient and easy recycling bins

have been created. Recycling bins created are divided into three main parts, where paper

waste, plastic waste and aluminium can waste be separated into different bins. This recycle

bin has a sign or symbol that will state the condition of recycle bin is full or not, it is said

to be more efficient as it can facilitate PSP (Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal) to collecting solid

waste every week by looking at the signage or symbol. In addition, this recycle bin also

has a wheel that will facilitate the population to push and pull the recycle bin along the

residential lane. This recycle bin was created with a size of 1350mm length, 500mm wide,

1500mm high and with a volume of inner trash bin is 68 liter. The materials that used to

create these recycle bin are wood, zinc and barbed wire. The focus of the study is to create

a product recycle bin where it is more efficient to be managed by the PSP (Pengurusan

Sisa Pepejal) and to facilitate the residents of the residential area to remove solid waste at

the premises provided.

3D INTERACTIVE MODEL FOR URBAN PLANNING

ABSTRACT

In recent years, the vast development in the society has brought to the construction of

many buildings and the speed of development is on an increasing state. Therefore, it is

important to have a 3D interactive model which is powerful and capable for urban and land

development analysis or planning. An interactive 3D model would enable developers,

town planners and engineers to have an upgraded visualization of the real surface of the

earth without having to be on the site. An interactive 3D model would be capable of pro-

viding a virtual visualization of the real environment that enable user to view the surround-

ing with a 360° field of view for better, easier understanding. The unmanned aerial vehi-

cles (UAVs) which is the second focus of this study, is a newly developed technology in

which the main focus is that a UAV can be remotely controlled and programmed to fly at

low altitude thus capturing high-resolution aerial photographs. This is a rather new Tech-

nique of aerial photogrammetry data acquisition.

This study focuses on using UAV to capture low altitude aerial photographs to generate a

3D interactive model for land development and urban planning purposes, at the same time

hoping to better market property in a photorealistic, 3D interactive model. Besides, this

study aims to showcase the capability of using UAV with its low-cost, high availability

and high resolution aerial photography abilities. The accuracy of the orthophotograph that

is used to generate the 3D model would be assessed and tested so as to ensure its validity,

which means that the accuracy of the model would be assessed by mean of traversing to

obtain coordinates for georeferencing using total station to ensure that the 3D model is

geographically correct.

The main goal of this study is to produce and establish a correct workflow to produce an

interactive 3D model using aerial photographs captured by UAV that can be applied in

urban planning and land development with UAV and 3D modelling technology.

ing. .Emphasizing the weight of the drawing board so it is easy to carry the tools

used to produce the Drawing Board by the students. The material for producing

ABSTRACT

Flood Protection Barricade (FPB) prototype is an instrument innovated from a

current flood barrier as a tool to assist home user when flash flood occur. It was

used the plywood board and rubber sponge to avoid water entering open house

area through door. This product was innovated to enhance the conventional

method of flood barrier that has been used widely in flood area. The test con-

ducted for measuring the force using hydraulic device to get hydrostatic force. In

this study, a survey carried out with the occupant and Department of Irrigation

and Drainage Malaysia (DID) expert on the effectiveness of the FPB prototype.

The focus of this research to study the impact of flood to residence at selected

housing area by produce FPB for housing door and analysed the effectiveness of

FPB prototype using software package (SPSS ver. 20). Result this product is ac-

ceptable because the water can open the FPB when test over stage the door.

ABSTRACT

The flies problem is a critical issues faced by people in Malaysia especially for

residential areas near the poultry farm. In this study, Bio-flies repellent was de-

veloped to prevent flies pollution that pollutes the restaurants, private homes and

chicken breeding areas. The method used is a vapour shaped with an aroma from

environmental friendly natural ingredients. The material used are daun kari, daun

pandan, cengkih and kayu manis. This study attempts to provide a more detailed

investigations regarding the effects of Bio-flies repellent towards the flies prob-

lem at the study areas. There are several tests that involved in the data collection

process includes Scudder grill and smell tests. Scudder test was conducted to de-

termine the average number of flies at the study areas. To demonstrate the poten-

tial of this approach and its suitability for the application, the effectiveness of Bio

-flies repellent is investigated. The results reveal that, Bio-flies repellent was po-

tentially to mitigate flies pollution problems in the area of housing, food and

poultry farms.

Car Auto Tube Extinguisher (CAT Extinguisher) is a type of automatic fire extin-

guisher that works to prevent more fires in the early stages. Small fire that can be

stopped at an early stage can save the fire from growing up. CAT extinguisher is

an innovation from an existing fire extinguisher to make it more ideal and easier.

Flamoff is choose as the extinguishing agent. Flamoff is a type of liquid extin-

guisher. CAT extinguisher is need to be install in the car boot. It react on auto-

matically if fire is detected. This can save the loss of property and life. This prod-

uct is automated where it does not required any expertise and man power. This

product is done and conduct with the fire and rescue Malaysia, Ipoh. Fire per-

formance test and drop tests were conducted with the fire fighters at Fire and Res-

cue Station located at Jalan Kompleks Sukan (in front Stadium Azlan Shah,

ABSTRACT

Multi-purpose Roof Sweeper is a product use to scoop the rubbish at the top of

roof of building and our main focus is single storey building. This invention re-

lates generally to the art of cleaning devices and more particularly to an apparatus

for scooping the rubbish on the roof. While there are a variety of apparatus which

can be employed to remove rubbish from roof, these implements are generally

unsatisfactory for safe, rapid and efficient to remove rubbish from roof. Current

cleaning aids are generally ill-suited for cleaning the top of building such as roof,

forcing the users to use a ladder or tools to reach the top of building. Other clean-

ing tools require brush or sweep which limit the reach and mobility of the clean-

ing device. This would be inconvenient to run the affairs of cleaning and indi-

rectly make the service for the building like roof was not maintained and cleaned.

Therefore, to achieve this objectives, we will created a scrapping tool which pro-

vides comfort to the users to remove rubbish on the roof. After this product will

produce, it can provide convenience to the users to remove rubbish from roof. In

the meantime, this tool can be used in various ways of cleaning.

ABSTRACT

Painting is one of the activities involved in the construction process. The

painting process is aimed at obtaining a good finish on the surface of the wall as

well as being a protector for the surface of the structure of a banner. In order to

obtain a uniform paint surface, the paint used should be properly bonded. So,

student produce the innovation product that is Easy Paint Stirrer (EPS) to facili-

tate the paint scratching process so that it can be best dealt with. This product is

innovated with a combination of used items including mop sticks and used fan

blades.

To prove that the resulting product works well, students have conducted experi-

ments in several areas such as construction areas and residential areas. And stu-

dent has recorded the results of experiments that have been carried out. To further

reinforce our research evidence, students have recorded using questionnaires.

Data shows that most respondents agree that products can be used for the future.

It is hoped that this innovation will help the painter in the future to be able to fur-

ther develop the construction industry.

Nowadays, plastering industry is dynamic because of the uncertainty of product

and material costs rising due to the unstable economic in Malaysia. In addition,

the quality of a product as a whole will affect the usability of the product and

product quality. The objective of this study was to reform ordinary trowel to

smart plastering trowel. In addition, the objective of this study is to test whether

the smart plastering trowel can be adjusted without affecting the originality of

ordinary functions. In this study, the types and sources of data used is primary

data. This smart plastering trowel was created with a size of 350mm length and

140mm wide. The material that used to create these smart plastering trowel is

steel. There are 30 sets of questionnaires being prepared and distributed to the

respondents. At the end of this study, trowel can be innovate become smart plas-

tering trowel.

ABSTRACT

Stroke is one of the top five diseases in Malaysia contributing to major morbidity

and mortality not only in Malaysia but in the whole world. Severe stroke can lead

to death while the stroke survivors will face weakness (flaccid), spasticity and

decrease in proprioceptive sensation depending on the affected part of the brain.

The cost of rehabilitation session as well as the restriction in mobility demoti-

vates the patient to undergo rehabilitation therapy in occupational therapy. A

portable, lightweight and low cost device was proposed for finger mobilizer

specifies for these patients. In order to develop the device, we need to consider

muscle conditions of the patient which is muscle spasticity and muscle flaccid. A

glove-like device which uses the application of mechanical which is servo motor

and servo player as a main component has been identified as the most suitable

concept for this project and also it’s a go green concept which is related with ours

environment. The design were created to suit perfectly with patient’s wrist and

finger. Quantitative analysis was conducted to acquire public opinion on the pro-

totype produced. Nearly all of them agreed on this concept although a lot of im-

provement needs to be done regarding the design of the prototype.

ABSTRACT

Cerebral palsy is the most prevalent cause of persisting motor function

impairment. In a majority of cases, the predominant motor abnormality is

spasticity; other forms of cerebral palsy include dyskinetic (dystonia or

choreoathetosis) and ataxic cerebral palsy. The care of individuals with

cerebral palsy should include the provision of a primary care medical

home for care coordination and suppor and diagnostic evaluations. Cur-

rent strategies to decrease the risk of cerebral palsy include interventions

to prolong pregnancy (e.g., 17α-progesterone), limiting the number of

multiple gestations related to assisted reproductive technology, antenatal

steroids for mothers expected to deliver prematurely, caffeine for ex-

tremely low birth weight neonates, and induced hypothermia for a sub-

group of neonates diagnosed with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.

ABSTRACT

Changing the oil filter of car is very common maintenance for every vehi-

cle in automotive field. Oil filter played an important role in car engine

system’s operation. In this paper, a new improved oil filter gripping

socket is innovated and analysed for changing the oil filter of the cars. The

existing oil filter gripping socket has encounter problems such as slippage,

no locking mechanism, broken and cannot accommodate various sizes of

oil filters. Thus, the first design is made to overcome the problems by us-

ing the same gear mechanism but with the different of movement and

shape of jaws. With this design, it produces the higher gripping force and

overcome the problem of slippage. But the movement of the design is not

smooth and range of the size of oil filter is small. In order to overcome the

problem of the first design, a mechanism of spiral track and teeth under

the jaws is used to achieve the highest gripping force and add on the lock-

ing mechanism to the oil filter gripping socket. This concepts are applied

to ensure the socket to hold the oil filter efficiently while performing the

operation of tighten or loosen oil filters. Analysis using Finite Element

Analysis is carried out to determine the maximum allowable stress on the

gripper and deformation of the gripper in 3D Modelling.

ABSTRACT

Everybody needs energy, and energy is everywhere. Law of conservation of en-

ergy stated energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but the energy can be

converted from one form to another form. Besides, the law also stated conserved

energy loss over time, which means the energy loss in every second. Thus, energy

conservation is very important to everyone. Energy conservation are efforts made

to consume lesser energy, while increase the efficiency of converted energy or

reduce the amount of services used. In this experiment, magnetic energy was used

as power transmission method instead of using belt drive and chain drive. In theo-

retical, magnetic energy provided no friction when it was converting to another

form of energy. To tested out the efficiency of this power transmission method

easily, DC motor generator was used. The recorded results were based on the

output of DC motor generator. Then, different numbers of permanent magnet

used were trying out in driven and driver disk. The most efficiency magnets plac-

ing were decided to further the experiment (4 bigger magnets in driven disk, 6

small magnets in driver disk). Both disks’ magnets were built to repulsive each

other in 90 degrees. All the material used in this experiment were insulator

(except electrical and electronic devices), to avoid the charge in conductor which

caused by change of magnetic field. The experiments showed potential energy

was needed to work the conversion continuously. So, the solar energy was used

as starting potential, since it was eco-energy.

ABSTRACT

Hamstring muscle injury is increasingly common due to sports and occupational

hazard. Usually, therapy for these conditions depends on a variety of physiother-

apy scheme which are very manpower intensive. Although mechanical assistive

device exists for limbs but it is rare for the rehabilitation of the hamstring muscle.

This project describes the construction and testing of an exoskeleton device actu-

ated by pneumatic artificial muscle (PAM) in training and rehabilitation of the

hamstring muscle. The total weight of the PAM and exoskeleton is less than 1.5

kg. The low mass is initially due to the use of a new range of PAM as a actuator

of the system as this type of actuator which also has an excellent power to weight

ratio to meet the need for great initial force, high acceleration capacity, steady

movement. The work concept of exoskeleton arm shows how the system func-

tions efficiently with inherent controllable muscle sensor and Arduino controller

to produce a unit that has a powerful actuating force, providing a wide range of

flexion and extension motion of the upper leg and forces over an extended range

in a manner that has high reliability physiotherapy effect for the patient.

which can be measured by some electronic devices. The simple product is

designed to detect the vibration cause by machines, windstorm or earth-

quake and then to active the siren/light in wireless network. The vibration

part is powered by solar panel with backup battery and the siren/light is

The conventional batik canting tool has a copper container with a fixed

spout. The problem by using this tool is the liquid wax in the copper con-

tainer was solidifies over a short period. The user needs to repeatedly re-

place the liquid wax to maintain the batik canting process flow. According

to the present invention, a tool for batik canting comprising a copper con-

tainer and a innovative spout connected to one side of copper container

and the handle connected to one side of copper container characterized in

that a detachable means between said spout and copper container a stop-

per lever connected to the copper container the stopper lever having a re-

silient device acting on the stopper lever to allow the lever to actuate and

retract a lid connected to the stopper lever to intercept the spout and a gas

burner connected to copper container.

Data from sensors placed near the wheel will be sent to the computer and ana-

lyzed. When the bus speeds closer to 90km / h the computer will activate the

gripper which holding the throttle cable position so opening of butterfly is fixed.

When the speed of bus drops computer will give instructions to gripper for deacti-

vated so the throttle body will operate as usual. In the event of an intrusion to the

system, the hacker button will work and engine speed automatically set to 60km /

h for a few hour before the operation of the engine will be turned off automati-

cally. As a security, only certain individuals will be given to access the system.

The special tool is designed to install and to remove nut or bolt and pipe in nar-

row area. It characteristic is flexible and adjustable tool without take out the tool

from nut until complete the installing or removing nut or bolt and pipe. Currently

problem occurred during installing and removing nut or bolt and pipe is difficult

in narrow area. To solve this problem, a special tool is needed to turn nut, bolt

and pipe according to the axis rotating. If conventional tool turn nut in z axis, this

tool need to turn a handle in y axis using wrench and convert to z axis with bevel

gear and spur gear. This tool consist three main components handle, gear casing

and head jaw. Handle is designed with hexagon at the end to install wrench to

turn the tool. The other end of the handle connects to gear casing. Gear casing to

cover the bevel gear and spur gear as a transmission system to change from y axis

to z axis. Spur gear to move the head jaw to turn the nut or bolt and pipe. The

minimum size of the nut or bolt and pipe that can be operating is 9 mm and the

maximum size of nut is 32 mm.

ABSTRACT

Traditional method of collecting honey leads to reduction in nutritional

value and quality thus, a honey collector; a mechanical device that collects

honey from its comb was designed and constructed using easily available

materials. The main objective of this study is the development and per-

formance evaluation of a honey collector. The main functional parts of the

device are Diaphragm pump, solar panel, tube (inner diameter 10mm),

power supply (12V rechargeable), jar (to store the honey collected),

switch, and backpack. The time taken for honey collection had significant

effect on the performance of the honey collector; the machine capacity,

efficiency and the collection of honey increases as the time taken for col-

lection decreases. The device is portable and can be operated without any

special training or technical-know-how, the device also has the ability to

preserve and leave the honeycomb undamaged after honey extraction.

ABSTRAK

Relay Concept Trainer merupakan trainer yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan

penggunaan konsep relay atau geganti yang sering digunakan oleh pelajar bidang

kejuruteraan elektrik terutamanya semasa membuat projek akhir. Dengan trainer

ini, pelajar dapat melihat bagaimana relay ini berfungsi secara dekat. Relay pada

asasnya ialah suis yang dibuka dan ditutup secara automatik dengan mengaplika-

sikan magnet buatan. Ia mempunyai kaki 5 pin dan 2 daripadanya ialah pin NO

(normally open) yang asalnya terbuka dan NC (normally close) yang asalnya ter-

tutup. Pin NO akan mengalirkan arus elektrik manakala Pin NC akan memu-

tuskan litar jika geganti menerima arus. Kebanyakan pelajar tidak memahami

konsep ini kerana mereka tidak dapat melihat bahagian dalaman relay tersebut.

Hal ini menyebabkan keberangkalian litar yang dipasang oleh mereka tersilap. Ini

berdasarkan tinjauan yang dibuat semasa penilaian projek dilaksanakan. Oleh

yang demikian, dengan adanya trainer ini pemahaman pelajar tentang konsep

relay ini dapat dipermudahkan.

ABSTRACT

Malaysia sign language is a way for communication between normal and

dumb people, but often they find difficulty in communicating with normal

people as we don’t understand their sign language. So, we come up with a

device which can convert their hand gestures into text which a normal

person can understand. This device consists of a Wireless Glove, consist-

ing of flex sensors, accelerometer and Bluetooth module. These sensors

sense the movement of hands and fingers. This system consists of a wire-

less circuit which converts these movements of hand into text output and

transfer data to a display which will give the text for the corresponding

gesture. The text output is in Malay. So, this device provides efficient way

of communication for both deaf-dumb and normal people.

ABSTRACT

The med e-pill, this innovation with application app for people had a problem

forget to take the medication in the right time. The purpose med e-pill is able to

help parents, absent-minded and patient who need to take pills in large quantity.

This can help them to keep taking the medicine according to the frequency of the

level of necessity. Furthermore, the pill box is able to generate buzzing sound and

LED to give a feedback to user for taking the medication immediately. The Ardu-

ino mega 2560 will generate the control signals. The control signals are transmit-

ted wirelessly to application device and the pill box. For example, the notification

will appear in application device to take the medication and also any info on the

drug application will appear on the "label" of the pill box. Apart from that, time

and needs medication is controlled by using the application on mobile phone. The

new approach to this technology is the application that can control the pill box.

When it is time for take the medication, the pill box drops the correct pills and

sounds an alarm until the infrared sensor detect that the medication was take. Af-

ter that, it goes back to “sleep” until the next alarm. We have to be sure that the

pills are delivered at the right time. So, a clock is added to the electronics circuit.

We used the real time clock module because had low power operation extends

battery backup run time. This project expected to provide a safe modified for pa-

tient who need to take pills in large quantity.

Body temperature is a complex, non-linear data point, subject to many

sources of internal and external variation. While these sources of variation

significantly complicate interpretation of temperature data, disregarding

knowledge in favor of oversimplifying complex issues would represent a

significant departure from practicing evidence-based medicine. The ori-

gins of the concept that a healthy normal temperature is 98.6° F/37.0° C.

External factors in the environment, diet, or lifestyle that can influence

ABSTRACT

A smart hand glove is a device that was designed to help patients who suffer

numbness or pain in the wrist which often faced by patients with Carpal Tunnel

Syndrome especially office worker and gamers. Components that were used to

design the Smart Hand Glove are switch, transistor, IC Timer 555 and trans-

former 60-282-0. An electrode pad used to produce an electrical impulse simula-

tion. The function of the electrode pad is to send signal to the skin. IC Timer 555

used as an oscillator to produce a frequency. Then, the speed will need to be set

manually by patient. Smart Hand Glove is able to massage their palm and wrist

while they are doing their work or playing game. They can also set the speed of

this therapy whether to go slow or fast. From questionnaire, Smart Hand Glove is

suitable for office worker and gamers. The value electrical simulation impulse to

the nerve is safety and suitable as therapy for reduce pain at the hand wrist and

palm. With use Smart Hand Glove, the patients will be able to do their work com-

fortably.

ABSTRACT

Headaches are common to those who face problems or stress, genetic dis-

eases or environmental conditions. It is often regarded as a normal thing

despite the fact that it can bring health complications. Headache problems

can actually be reduced in many ways, one of which is to use an electric

massage roller ball instead of a hand massage. Therefore, "Smart Head-

ache Relief" is designed to help reduce headaches most of the time in the

community. The resulting device contains 2 predetermined points, the

back of the head, the bottom of the hair (suboccipital trigger points). This

device focuses on those who have Cervicogenic headache. This device

uses a LI-Ion rechargeable battery 12V. Besides that, this device also de-

signed U-shaped which will give the user convenience and also relax the

muscle around patient neck. The pillow is covered with Bird Eye Mesh

Fabric which can give comfortable and easy to wash. SHR can be used

safely on patient, this because safety test has been doing to this device.

This project based on the study of a device that helps the citizen to foster a cul-

ture of recycling among Malaysian according to the fast lifestyle. Recycle of

paper converses natural resources, save energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions

and keep landfill space free for other types of trash that can’t be recycled. RECY-

CLE VENDING MACHINE was equipped with a paper shredder to cut the paper

into strip and will measure the weight of paper using electronic weight. The

weight will synchronous with the price by using microcontroller. The stepper

motor and piston will pushed the paper into the garbage space and the 16 x 2

LCD display act as a user interface. This project are very suitable for places like

university, school and office that using a lot of papers daily and help the citizen

contribute to the green technology.

ABSTRACT

One of the most common natural disasters that hit our country is flood. Many losses and

life have perished in this hazardous natural disaster. Early warning system will aid in

warning the people of incoming floods and rising water levels. Most of those who died in

these floods were not aware about the water accumulating outside their house and when

they finally realize about the situation, it was too late for them to do anything. The purpose

of this study is to develop an early warning system that can be used at any place where the

danger of rising waters exist, so as to detect the level of water in the surrounding and along

rivers. Evaluation is based on the needs of the user, the cost of production, and the types of

output that can be used to warn the user of an impending flood. Research on early warning

system for water level detection shows that a cheap, low maintenance, portable and con-

tactless system for water level detection was needed. Existing system such as the Flood

Gauge (a ruler like scale in rivers) and the hydrology stations currently being install in

Malaysia is either expensive or not reliable. The ability to place a cheap and reliable alter-

native is more convenient for the users and the public in general. Hence our team came up

with the idea for this project, “A Contactless Water Level Sensor”. The components for the

water level sensor are Microcontroller, Ultrasonic Sensors, Buzzer, Light Emitting Diode

(LED), Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and Power Supply. The Ultrasonic Sensor will pro-

vide a contactless sensing of the water level, which feed this information to a microcon-

troller. The microcontroller will determine if the water level is at normal, warning or dan-

ger level and provide visual and audio warning. An upgrade was done to enable the infor-

mation about the water level to be sent to relevant authorities such as the Department of

Irrigation and Drainage and the Fire and Rescue Department via Wifi. An Android appli-

cation was also created and can link to the device via wifi and provide the information in

real-time. This innovation will prove to have a significant improvement in safety and

reliability..

ABSTRACT

The Smart Whiteboard Eraser is a whiteboard with an automatic electronic eras-

ing system which can be easily controlled by using a smartphone. This system

can clean all around the board and can even clean the whole area of the board at

once. It contain an individual eraser that can be moved upward, downward, left

and right. It also contain a long horizontal eraser that placed on the top of the

whiteboard that can be used to clean whole whiteboard surface. This system uses

one stepper motor to move the individual eraser in Horizontal (X-axis) and two

stepper motor to move both eraser in vertical (Y-axis) direction. This system uses

three stepper motor in total. It use a Bluetooth module to communicate with

smartphone. A small Arduino Pro Mini is used as the main controller for the

system.

water and fertilizer equipment, it makes people’s lives easier.

People often face problems such as not enough time to take care of them like wa-

tering plants and spraying fertilizer to plant them at the proper time.

Therefore, people will not bother again to split their time to pamper their plants

due to ease of automatic electronic device, it will be easier for them in terms of

allocation of time. In such case, the tool will automatically work watering and

spraying manure when the time is set.Consequently, human life would be easier

without having to juggle in their crops. Now they can focus their time on more

important things.

ABSTRACT

Emergency Portable Extension is an innovative design in upgrading the usage of

power bank. Based on this concept, the design of Emergency Portable Extension

is the combination of power bank and extension cord. Emergency Portable Exten-

sion consists of four circuits; namely the power supply circuit, phone charging

circuit, solar cell and LED indicator. Power supply circuit is used to charge the

battery and the solar cells are used for backup power source to charge the 12v

battery in absence of electricity. The 800W socket outlet is suitable for charging

laptop. The phone charging circuit functions as power supply for smartphone

with an output of 5V, 1A with USB port. It comes with an LED indicator used to

show the process of battery charging. Each circuit is connected with individuals

safety switch. The duration for charging the 12v battery for this portable exten-

sion (emergency) is between 8-10 hours per day.

ABSTRACT

This ‘Oto Mop” project is to design and implement an automatic cleaning floor

Robot. “Oto Mop” is designed to make cleaning process become easier rather

than by using manual. It can mop the floor and at the same time spray the water

according to the timing set. “Oto Mop” came with a fan so it is convenience to

dry a wet floor right after it was mopped. The material mop used in this project is

a big rectangle sponge that will easily make a turning during mopping the floor.

The idea is basically by having an ultrasonic sensor to detect any obstacle. Servo

motor to serve as its mobility system and helped rotating the sponge, while Ardu-

ino software will run the coding. This “Oto Mop’ project have several criteria that

are efficient, organized and user-friendly, which meets human needs.

Arduino Control Lawnmower adalah sebuah mesin pemotong rumput yang dibina

untuk menjadikan aktiviti memotong rumput lebih mudah. Pergerakkan mesin

permotong rumput akan dikawal mengunakan smartphone. Smartphone akan ber-

tindak sebagai alat kawalan untuk mengawal pergerakan mesin rumput. Sambun-

gan Bluetooth Module (Master/Slave) : HC-05 digunakan dalam litar bagi

menghantar signal ke smartphone. Terdapat juga semburan racun pembunuh rum-

put dan terdapat juga motor dibawah untuk memotong rumput. Dengan adanya

mesin rumput ini, keselamatan penguna akan terjamin dan lebih terjaga. Selain

itu, dapat menjimatkan kos kerana menggunakan bateri dan mesra alam. Dengan

kawalan smartphone ini, kita juga boleh mengawal mesin rumput dengan mele-

takkan masa dan mesin itu bergerak secara rawak tanpa kita mengawalnya.

ABSTRACT

This project is inspired by our idea that we called peeler peanuts automatics. The

idea based on the process of manufacturing this bean than take much longer. This

project to ensure the bean from ruined and preserve quality of beans. Our peanuts

peeling machine keep the peanut kernels as integrals as possible. This system

manually operated peanut peeling machine comprises a specially designed peel-

ing chamber which greatly reduces the amount of breakages during peeling. The

low cost peanut peeler by using atmega328p controller is system that using two

dc motor which it’s can peel the peanut with using method compression. The mo-

tor can fuction move clockwise and anti-clockwise.this condition will causes the

compression process to occur. In the system, we use the concept blower system to

separate between peanut skins and contents of nuts.in the theory, the skin peanuts

is lighter than contents of nuts , so the skin peanut will blow by blower and move

to the container which have set up in the system. The low cost peanut peeler by

using atmega328p controller that controll by chip microcontroller atmega328p.

After that,we use timer program to take time for processing peeler the peanuts.

Smart bicycle is the innovation of the ordinary bicycle that has many additional features on

the bicycle. This bicycle is most commonly used for transportation and has been used to

make sure the safety and comfortable of the biker. Smart bikes have feature that help biker

to easy their ride and can made many work in one system. Some smart bikes development

projects currently transform used bicycles into high tech bicycle for ordinary person but

most of the smart bikes are not suitable for disable people because smart bike only devel-

oped for normal person. Currently, there are no smart bikes specialize for disable people.

Therefore, this project concentrates to developed smart bicycle specialize for deaf people.

The Smart Bicycle for Deaf Cyclist is a device which is used for deaf cyclist to overcome

their disability. This project contains 3 main part which is circuit part, main component

part and subcomponent part. These parts are functionally to overcome disability of deaf

cyclist especially main component part. The main component part of this project is noise

detector sensor and back view camera, which these parts act as ear, eye and motion sense

of the cyclist. The subcomponent part contains monitor display, handle vibrator, led indi-

cator and solar. These parts have relation with main part and circuit part which it has im-

portant function into display and deliver output to the cyclist. The main aim of this product

to develop a newer method to allow deaf people cyclist on their bicycle by their own with

fully protected by our project.

ABSTRACT

The project is designed to develop a density based traffic system. The signal timing

changes automatically on sensing the traffic density at the junction. Traffic congestion is a

severe problem in many major cities across the world and it has become a nightmare for

the commuters in these cities. Conventional traffic light system is based on fixed time

concept allotted to each side of the junction which cannot be varied as per varying traffic

density. Junction timings allotted are fixed. Sometimes higher traffic density at one side of

the junction demands longer green time as compared to standard allotted time.

Our project use IR sensor. IR sensor use to detect density of the vehicles, if the vehicles

reach the high density zone, the sensor will send the information to microcontroller and the

output is that junction will get long time for green light. . The density of the vehicles is

measured in three zones which is low density, high density and emergency based on which

timings are allotted accordingly. Microcontroller 16F877A has very efficient architecture

which can be used for low end security systems. 16F877A use to interface with sensors,

changes the junction timing automatically to accommodate movement of vehicles

smoothly avoiding unnecessary waiting time at the junction. The special of our project is

emergency mode. This mode will working for official emergency only such as paramedics

and firefighters only. Another emergency case are not allow. So, the wireless remote con-

trol will be used in this project. When the button pressed, the running sequence will paused

ABSTRACT

Ultrasonic Blind Stick With GPS tracking For the Blind is an innovation of the ordinary

stick that used by the blind people. The generally available blind walking sticks are capa-

ble of detecting obstacles that touch the stick physically. It is helpful to a blind person but

we would like to propose an advanced blind stick system that allows blind person to sense

objects before the stick touches any physical objects. For example, this stick will enable

the user to sense if there is any loop of water on their way and help them to use other safest

route. Besides, it includes a GPS tracking feature to find lost person along with other use-

ful features. The system uses a microcontroller based circuit to handle the entire system

functioning. Our system uses ultrasonic sensor to sense objects within certain range of the

person and a beep sound of a particular type can be heard that signals obstacles. Also we

used a shorting system to detect water in front of the person. As soon as the front wires of

the system are dipped in water, the system signals the blind person by a different beep

pattern to signal water in front. This system also has a light sensing feature to give the

blind person a sense of light. It signals the person if they are in a bright or dark environ-

ment so that he knows if he has entered a very dark room/facility. If the person loses the

stick the person can use RF remote where the stick will starts “beeping” and the person can

allocate the stick . One more important feature of the system is that the system allows the

blind person to send out messages of his/her GPS location to the caretaker/relatives/loved

ones in case of trouble or being lost. In a nutshell, it can be said that this method offers

innovative solutions in order to replace the conventional methods present at current time to

guide the visually impaired person. Also, it can be easily applied anywhere and anytime.

ABSTRACT

A small lockers are locked to temporarily store items. This study applies the stor-

age locker system with techniques using barcode cards for recognition as a way to

unlock and close the lock. Previously, the technique that we used to unlock the

locker door was using the keys. But today there are various techniques to unlock

the locker doors safely. The latest way to unlock the locker is to use RFID, pass-

code, fingerprint, face detection and barcode. We chose to use the barcode be-

cause the bar code was present on each student card. When the bar code is regis-

tered and successfully scanned, the buzzer will ring and the green LED will light

up for 5 seconds. At that time, we will hear a 'click' indicating the solenoid mag-

netic lock is opened. This system not only reduces the problem for users to bring

the key, but also increases trust and security for users. The process of implemen-

tation and the rate of system recognition for the storage locker system is exam-

ined in this study

Wheelbarrows have been extensively used for carrying cement, refuse, tools and

other heavy materials. It is a simple device that eases the process of transporting

materials. This project is mainly to improve the original wheelbarrow to an ad-

vanced wheelbarrow which will overcome the problem of the original wheelbar-

row. Semi-auto wheelbarrow will include an engine with a drive system that will

transmit power to the wheels of wheelbarrow. This project also included other

consideration such as an analysis on bucket of the wheelbarrow.

ABSTRACT

This project involves the development of innovation in the construction of a wire-

less. Wireless communication, or sometimes simply wireless, is the transfer of

information or power between two or more points that are not connected by an

electrical conductor. This project is built around ARM controller raspberry pi,

which is the heart of the system. This project aims at designing to communicate

between mobile phone and Raspberry pi (ARM7). GSM modem can accept any

network operator sim card and act just like a mobile phone with its own unique

number. It will be used to send and receive SMS. This modem can either be con-

nected to PC serial port (Raspberry pi) or to any microcontroller. IR sensor and

LDR sensor used to detect any mail received in the mailbox. Arduino Mega and

Uno will also be used as a process of transferring data from the transmitter to the

receiver with a program developed. The scope of this project is to notify the user

that there is a mail in a mailboxes, even when they are in the work, outstation, or

not staying in the house for a long period of time. This project can also reduce

cost and save energy consumption.

This project based on the study of a device to assist process of learning a micro-

controller system application on a trainer kit. The Hands-on Trainer Kit give the

ability to the student to manually do the connection of the wiring to the microcon-

troller system. This gives the students themselves learning experience on how to

connect the circuit and the function on each circuit. The Hands-on Trainer Kit

itself is different from the ordinary training kit issued by companies on the market

that are more focus on the software experience only. The circuit that is involve in

this training kit is a 16x2 LCD DISPLAY, 7 SEGMENT LED, DC MOTOR con-

trol and INFRARED SENSOR. Also this trainer can be used to read many more

sensor type that has been sold on the market. Each of these circuits is the basic

learning concept for electrical students that are learning Embedded System Appli-

cation. The concept of this trainer involves the skill of coding writing and wiring

connection gives the advantage to the students to trains themselves on circuit

building, circuit trouble shooting and the creativity to build the desired algorithm.

ABSTRACT

Security has been playing a key role in many of our places like offices, institu-

tions, libraries, laboratories etc. in-order-to keep our data confidentially so that no

other unauthorized person could have an access on them.

Nowadays, at every point of time, we need security systems for protection of

valuable data and even money. This paper presents a fingerprint based door open-

ing system which provides security which can be used for house. To provide per-

fect security to the home lockers and to make the work easier, this project is tak-

ing help of one technology, ARDUINO. Unauthorized access is prohibited by

designing a lock that stores the fingerprints of one or more authorized users. Fin-

gerprint is sensed by sensor and is validated for authentication. If the fingerprint

matches, the door will be opened automatically otherwise the buzzer connected to

an audio amplifier will be activated so that the people near the surroundings will

get an alert. The buzzer also will be active after 3 times fail unlocks .

ABSTRACT

“Decorative Light Stand” merupakan satu idea kreatif yang diilhamkan untuk dipersembahkan

kepada para pelanggan yang berminat memiliki barangan lampu hiasan dari barangan terpakai.

Menurut Jabatan Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal Negara, pada tahun 2015 rakyat Malaysia telah mem-

buang sampah dan ianya bernilai RM476 juta. Menerusi jumlah ini, sumber buangan kedua terbesar

ialah barangan berbentuk plastik iaitu 9 peratus atau RM163 juta. Barangan plastik yang dimaksud-

kan adalah termasuk botol minuman. Sekiranya ingin dilupuskan, ianya akan mengambil masa 500

tahun untuk mereput. Pastinya, kesan ini akan memberikan impak buruk kepada negara untuk

jangka masa yang panjang. Menyedari hakikat ini, produk yang dinamakan sebagai “Decorative Light

Stand” telah tercipta. Produk ini telah menggunakan bahan terbuang seperti botol plastik dan besi.

Besi yang terpakai di kumpul dan dihantar untuk dikitar semula bagi penyediaan besi baru. Bekalan

botol plastik terbuang dan besi buruk diambil dari kawasan Kulim, Kedah dan Bukit Mertajam, Pulau

Pinang. Produk inovasi ini disasarkan kepada golongan pengusaha peralatan pengantin, restoren,

pusat peranginan dan tidak lupa juga kepada isi rumah yang meminati barangan kategori ini. Harga

yang dikenakan adalah berpatutan dan ia boleh dipasarkan secara “online” dan “offline” Pengguna-

kan alatan media sosial seperti facebook, wechat, whatsapp, instagram dan ekspo perkahwinan akan

digunakan semaksimum mungkin. Rekabentuk yang unik dan menarik serta bercirikan barangan

terpakai diyakini akan menambahkan lagi nilai barangan ini. Semoga usaha murni ini akan dapat

sokongan yang padu dari para pelanggan disamping mampu mengurangkan masalah lambakan sam-

pah di negara Malaysia. Ia juga satu inisiatif untuk bersama-sama menyokong Kempen Go Green –

ABSTRACT

Robot has become a very important field in engineering and manufacturing since

their ability to perform various tasks. POLITEKNIK MALAYSIA has made Em-

bedded Robotic as one of subject in electrical engineering syllabus in order to

introduce the technology to students. During the course, students will be familiar

with controller, sensors, actuators mobile robot design and application. The goal

of this project is to develop single small wheeled robot platform that can be used

in five practical works session consist of Embedded Controller in Mobile Robot,

Introduction to Sensors and Actuators Programming, Sensors and Actuators Pro-

gramming for Wheeled Robot, Wheeled Robot Basic Movement and Wheeled

Robot Applications. Well known Arduino Uno is used to simplify the microcon-

troller programming process while Proteus simulation is applied simultaneously

in order to allow students to simulate the given works before laboratory session

without actual hardware. By using this wheeled robot platform, practical works

can be more convenient and student can correlate the works done from practical

hands-on one to five which are the basic method to develop mobile robot.

ABSTRACT

Recently, educational loan defaulting issues is increasing on a worldwide scale.

This scenario has brought severe problems to the government, PTPTN corpora-

tion and the students who are willing to further their studies at tertiary level. With

the hope of raising the students’ awareness to repay the educational loan, we in-

vestigated the students’ knowledge, attitude and the parental influence towards

loan repayment. A total of 361 students from Semester 4 and 5 of Ungku Omar

Polytechnic participated in the study and data were collected using the previous

study questionnaire. There are 4 parts in the questionnaire. The descriptive analy-

sis method is applied to analyze the demographic whilst, Pearson Correlation

Coefficient analysis method is applied to analyze the relationship between the

students’ awareness and the factors towards loan repayment.

The findings will be a great relevance to government-funding agencies, which

can better plan the loan advancement and recovery process once they understand

the reasons behind of defaulting. Also, it helps in adding useful value to the social

and economic due to an increase in the recovery rate will bring in funds that can

be lent to additional students or used for strengthening educational infrastructure.

Sistem pendidikan Malaysia memberi penekanan yang sangat besar dalam peng-

gunaan ICT dalam pembelajaran untuk memastikan pelajar mengikuti perkem-

bangan teknologi terkini. Oleh itu, adalah penting bagi politeknik untuk mengi-

kuti pendidikan berasaskan teknologi supaya pelajar politeknik dapat mengem-

bangkan kemahiran ICT mereka selari dengan rakan-rakan mereka di IPT awam

dan swasta. Keputusan kajian ini boleh menjadi pemangkin dan panduan kepada

kajian masa depan. Diharapkan juga penemuan akan menyumbang kepada

penambahbaikan pengajaran dan pembelajaran geoteknik. Satu sistem inovasi

reka khas yang diberi nama ‘Smart Geo Lab’ untuk pembelajaran geoteknik den-

gan menggunakan Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 dan Microsoft Excel 2016 untuk

tujuan membantu pelajar membuat kerja amali makmak Geoteknik di Politeknik

lebih mudah. Sistem ini (SGL) dilegkapi dengan kertas kerja, video kerja amali,

pengiraan automatik dan boleh dicetak. Sistem ini juga dapat membantu pen-

syarah untuk menilai para pelajar dengan lebih mudah. Segala permarkahan dapat

dirujuk dalam sistem ini. Dala erti kata lain, sistem ini (SGL) merangkumi segala

malumat yang berkaitan dengan kerja amali makmal

Perkembangan media hiburan seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi pengkomput-

eran merupakan tonik utama kepada penggunaan komputer kecil dalam inovasi

ini. Rasberry Pi; bukan sahaja digunakan sebagai medium hiburan, banyak lagi

fungsi alat ini. Ramai inovater sudah mula menunjukkkan kekreatifan mereka

dengan menggunakan komputer kecil berkuasa besar ini. IoT atau Internet of

Things merupakan pemangkin utama dalam mempopularkan penggunaan Rasp-

berry Pi. Ia menarik minat banyak pemain utama dalam industri seperti Micro-

soft, Goggle, dan organisasi-organisasi teknologi lain dalam memperkenalkan

inovasi baru. Pi’TERTAINMENT juga dihasilkan daripada Raspberry Pi untuk

hiburan keluarga. Walaupun produk inovasi ini bukan dikategorikan ciptaan baru

tetapi dengan pertambahan fungsi dan integrasi dengan peralatan lain, ia menjadi-

kan satu mekanisme yang begitu praktikal untuk digunakan oleh orang ramai

dengan kos yang berpatutan.

ABSTRACT

A Business Planning (BP) is a formal statement of business goals, reasons they

are attainable, and plans for reaching them. It may also contain background infor-

mation about the organization or team attempting to reach those goals. BP is very

important to get financing from Bank, MARA, TEKUN and others agency who

give financing to those who wants to start up their own business. Business Plan is

one of the main component of Entrepreneurship course in Polytechnics. Through

our survey, we found a lot of students did not know how to prepare a good busi-

ness plan and unable to find an easy way to prepare a business plan. Therefore,

we have developed smartphone application called Biz-Plan Guide App. The main

purpose of this app is to help students to get easy access in making a proper busi-

ness plan. It contains notes and other features that explains about the component

should have in preparing a good business planning. It can be accessed through

smartphone which the students can access it everywhere and anytime. This app

can be downloaded through google play store.

ABSTRACT

The systems of E-Zakat Management developed to replace zakat manually

on data based to web development. The process of zakat management by

manual was slow and takes a month to provide zakat to students. The ad-

vantage for student is they can use this system anywhere and anytime be-

fore the deadline to apply for zakat JTMK. E-Zakat Management system

will store the data after student fill up the form through system into the

database. System will give validation and back to the form if the appli-

cants not complete the application form. The system also helps zakat offi-

cer to check and verify zakat form systematically and automatically calcu-

lating system.

ABSTRACT

Poli Pay system is a system developed especially for students in Kamsis Ungku

Omar Polytechnic to make transaction when buying a food at cafe. Poli Pay sys-

tem is operated by Muhammad Afif Syakir bin Razali, Nurul Aida binti Abdul

Kaffar and Nurzafirah binti Idris. Our supervisor is Mr Ikmal Hisyam bin Mohd

Paris. Poli Pay system users were students in Kamsis and the management of the

Kamsis as the system administrator. The objective of this project is to make pay-

ment transaction easier and not using the manual ways to prevent seller mistake

in give balance to student. In addition, to make sure student use PTPTN’s money

in correct way and not using it to buy something not important. This system is

using Rapid Application Development methodology. This methodology was cho-

sen because the involvement and user requirement are taken into account

throughout the development of the Poli Pay system. The main software use in the

development of the Poli Pay system is Dreamweaver CS6, Adobe Photoshop CS6

and Xampp. This software is built with a dynamic and interactive function. The

device that we use was laptop, barcode scanner and keyboard. Poli Pay system is

expected to become more efficient and easily system with a user-friendly inter-

face and easy to use it.

ABSTRACT

In today's globalised world, physical security is highly demanded. Industry, com-

mercial places, school, bank, hospital and other indoor or outdoor environment

requires high end surveillance which is quite expensive and not so affordable by

small organisation. Many people cannot afford such a high cost CCTV (Closed-

Circuit Television) system which is why they choose to not implement surveil-

lance system. Indirectly, they put their shop or house expose to danger. This pa-

per proposes the motion detection and tracking system for surveillance area in a

cheaper way. The proposed system detects moving object using OpenCV in sur-

veillance area and capture intruder’s picture and sent to electronic storage.

ABSTRACT

The Study@Perak's app is a mobile application that functions for all users in the

world wide especially at Malaysia. It is an application that shows to the user spe-

cifically the place of public institution of higher learning (Public IHL) or private

institution of higher learning (Private IHL) at Perak. This app also pinned the

place that have been searched by the user plus it will shows the details about the

Public/Private IHL. This will help the user as some of people out there who faced

the problem of finding the Public/Private IHL at Perak. We also provide the de-

tails information about the places as our application managed to load and link the

website and the contact number of the Private/Public IHL. We are using Android

Studios as our main software while developing the Study@Perak mobile applica-

tion.

ABSTRAK

Kebanyakan pelajar baru PUO selalu bertanya pelajar senior dan pensyarah lokasi

kelas mereka disebabkan kelas-kelas mereka terletak di bangunan jabatan lain.

Dengan adanya aplikasi PUO's MAPS ini diharapkan dapat membantu pelajar-

pelajar baru ini atau pelajar lama agar dapat mencari kelas mereka.Aplikasi ini

juga diharapkan dapat membantu para pensyarah terutama pensyarah baru dan

pensyarah lama untuk mencari lokasi kelas mereka sekiranya melibatkan peng-

gunaan bilik-bilik kuliah atau makmal jabatan lain. Diharapkan aplikasi ini dapat

memberi kemudahan, menjimatkan masa serta tenaga para penggunanya di dalam

proses pencarian lokasi yang ditujui.

ABSTRACT

The project that we are going to pursue has a point of convergence on simulation

category that is called “Simulated Robot-soccer Tourament” (also known as

SimuroSot). SimuroSot is divided into 2 sub categories; Middle League 5 vs. 5

and Large League 11 vs. 11. To be more specific, this project will cover on Large

League 11 vs. 11. SimuroSot 11 vs. 11 is actually a simulation platform that en-

compasses with 11 robots form HOME-side and 11 robots form OPPONENT-

side. In order to make the robots from both side fully functioning, strategies are

required. Teams can create their own strategies and compete with each other

without using any hardware.

ABSTRAK

Tanda aras ketinggian adalah satu tanda rujukan yang digunakan untuk menentukan dan memin-

dahkan nilai ketinggian dipersekitarannya. Dalam bidang pengukuran, nilai ketinggian sesuatu objek

diatas permukaan bumi adalah diambil kira daripada aras purata laut (APL). Dalam kajian ini, pemin-

dahan dan pembetulan nilai ketinggian akan dilakukan pada setiap tanda Cadastral Reference Mark

(CRM) dan Tanda Aras Sementara (TBM) yang berada didalam kawasan Politeknik Ungku Omar.

Dengan kajian ini, ianya dapat memudahkan setiap pelajar Jabatan Kejuruteraan Awam untuk men-

jalankan kerja-kerja pengukuran di lapangan. Untuk melakukan pemindahan nilai-nilai ketinggian

dengan selisih yang minima, kaedah pengukuran aras jitu merupakan antara kaedah yang terbaik.

Ukuran aras jitu adalah satu pengukuran yang berkejituan tinggi yang digunakan untuk tujuan menda-

patkan aras ketinggian muktamad, struktur kejuruteraan, penentuan perbezaan APL diantara Stesen

Tolok Air Pasang Surut dan penentuan datum pugak kebangsaan JUPEM. Pada dasarnya, kaedah aras

jitu ini adalah sama seperti ukur aras kejuruteraan, cuma ianya melibatkan jarak yang lebih jauh,

kejituan yang lebih tinggi dan alatan yang lebih sensitif. Dalam era yang serba canggih dengan kema-

juan sains dan teknologi, penggunaan gajet seperti telefon bimbit ataupun komputer mudah alih

adalah satu kemestian untuk dimiliki oleh semua orang terutamanya pelajar zaman sekarang. Dengan

itu, nilai-nilai ketinggian dan koordinat bagi setiap CRM dan TBM di Politeknik Ungku Omar adalah

lebih mudah dipersembahkan dalam bentuk sistem laman web. Sistem laman web ini akan memu-

dahkan para pelajar Jabatan Kejuruteraan Awam menggunakannya sebagai rujukan untuk kerja-kerja

pengukuran lapangan. Selain itu, kajian ini akan mewujudkan sistem pengimbas QR-Code pada setiap

tanda CRM dan TBM untuk memudahkan pelajar mengakses laman web dengan menggunakan tele-

fon mudah alih semasa menjalankan kerja pengukuran.

ABSTRAK

Pelajar sekolah sering kehilangan duit belanja yang diberikan oleh ibu bapa ker-

ana kecuaian mereka untuk menyimpan duit belanja mereka dengan baik. Kadang

kala kes buli juga menjadi punca duit belanja pelajar habis di ambil oleh pembuli.

Di samping itu, apabila pelajar hendak membuat pembayaran di kantin mereka

perlu beratur panjang dan setiba giliran mereka untuk membuat pembayaran ka-

dang-kadang peniaga kantin tidak mepunyai wang tukar untuk memberi baki,

cara pembayaran tersebut tidak efisyen dan melambatkan. EZ Pay Card adalah

satu sistem pembayaran yang menggunakan teknologi kad 'RFID'. mereka hanya

perlu membawa kad ini ke kantin untuk membuat pembayaran. Cara pem-

bayarannya amat mudah, mereka hanya perlu menyentuh tad tersebut pada pem-

baca kad dan memasukkan 4 digit kod pin. Setiap pemegang kad tersebut mem-

punyai kod pin yang berbeza, dengan cara ini membuatkan pembayaran lebih

selamat. ibu bapa juga boleh memantau jumlah duit belanja anak mereka dan apa

anak mereka makan di sekolah. Selain itu, ibu bapa juga boleh menambah nilai

kad tersebut di website yang disediakan, pelajar juga boleh menambah nilai se-

cara manual melalui admin. Paparan website terbahagi kepada dua iaiyu untuk

admin dan ibu bapa pelajar. Projek ini di inovasikan untuk memudahkan pem-

bayaran yang dibuat oleh pelajar dan mengurangkan kes kehilangan duit pelajar

dan bagi memudahkan ibu bapa memantau perbelanjaan anak mereka di kantin

sekolah. Selain itu, persekitaran pembayaran tanpa wang juga cuba diwujudkan

kerana sistem pembayaran yang sedia ada kurang efisyen.

Nowadays technology development now allows information to move

without limits and boundaries. Tele Smart Home is anything that enables

you to use your home’s lighting, and appliances more conveniently and

efficiently. It can be as simple as remote a light, or it can be a complete

system that controls all major parts of your home, custom set to your own

personal preference. Tele Smart Home is anything that gives you remotely

control of things around the home. Tele Smart Home is a device that help

user to manage their home with several features. Among the features men-

tioned above owner or admin can control lamps, gates, and doors using

telegram. This feature can be used even admin or owner not at home as

long the owner and the device has connection to the internet. Our target is

to everyone that concern about home security.
