Acceptance of the Treasurer and Secretary Reports for May. The Treasurer of School Funds and the Board Secretary reports are in balance for the cash receipts and dis- bursements for the month of May 2004. G. Approval to participate in a workshop in cooperation with the County Superintendent and the Township sponsored by the New Jersey School Boards Association entitled “Setting Goals for our District-School-Community Planning Session” (a date to be determined) at a cost not to exceed $350.00. H. Awarding a contract, pending Board Attorney review, for the renewal for 2004-2005 professional technical support services to be rendered regarding the LAN/WAN computer/software system, to ProMedia, Clifton, New Jersey, for an estimated ten (10) hours per month at $125 per hour, in an amount not to exceed $15,000, effective July 1, 2004 and terminating June 30, 2005. I. Awarding a contract, pending Board Attorney review, for bids opened and read on Tuesday, June 15, 2004, for the re-bid of the 2004-2005 Middle School Boiler Project, to Midcoast, Inc., Neptune, New Jersey, in the amount of $134,136, utilizing 2004-2005 Capital Outlay Funds.

Bidders were: TEO Technologies, Inc., Ringwood, NJ $101,800* Allied Boiler Corp., Toms River, NJ 105,436* Midcoast Inc., Neptune, NJ 134,136 * Bidders failed to meet bid specifications.

J. Awarding a contract/purchase order, pending Board Attorney review,for quotes sought and received for Boiler Repairs and Hydro-Static Testing Project, for the boilers in the Administrative Building, 655 Princeton Avenue, to Allied Boiler Repair Corp., Toms River, New Jersey, the lowest responsive vendor, as determined by the Director of Buildings & Grounds, in the amount of $10,550, which includes all specified repairs/testing, utilizing 2004-2005 Capital Outlay Funds. K. After consultation with the Board’s Insurance Agent, Jasper Parrella, Dickstein Associates Agency, and with the approval of the Finance Committee, renewal of Liability/Casualty insurance coverage, effective July 1, 2004 and terminating June 30, 2005. 4. Approval for the Lakewood School District to become a pilot district for the 2004-2005 school year at the invitation of the Commissioner of Education. As a New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum (NJQSAC) pilot, the Lakewood District would have Department of Education assistance with a team from the Educational Improvement Resource Center (EIRC) for assistance with finance, facilities, curriculum, achievement, special education and bilingual education.
