Bangalore Instute of Technology (BIT) gives equal weightage to Extra-Curricular acvies as

Academics. BIT has a rich heritage of nurturing, nourishing and showcasing talents in the

fields of culture through an exclusive forum-BIT Central. The cultural forum helps the students

introspect their hidden talents and display the same on this vast plaorm. The students

acvely parcipate in various cultural acvies including Dance, Music, Drama in

compeons held by various Universies & Instuons. Every year, BIT organizes extravagant

cultural events, like Manthan - Annual cultural feast and Kannada Rajyothstava.

Sports form a very important element of extra extracurricular acvies. We have a separate

physical educaon department headed by a Physical Educaon Director. To promote the spirit

of compeveness and encourage team work and healthy compeon amongst students .Our

Instuon conducts various sports events .The sports acvies in our college aims at

grooming talents and making the student strong in ethics and well-groomed to face future

challenges. Our students have won many medals & awards in naonal & internaonal sports

events organized by various Universies & colleges.

BIT envisages to get students engaged in their passions and interests outside of the classroom.

In this regard, BIT has varied student clubs, like Rotaract, TED X, Samskruthi, etc. Our Student

clubs help students build leadership and team-building skills & it connects students to a

plaorm where they can exchange knowledge, build awareness, and receive recognion.

We have a highly acve alumni associaon. It has an immense network of extremely

professional contacts. Alumni associaon is serving as a forum to promote and foster good

relaonship between alumni, present students, management and teaching faculty. It has over

2000 members seled in various parts of India and abroad on presgious posion on all

sectors.

The college has comprehensive & hygiene hostel facilies for the students. We have two

hostels, one for boys & the other for girls' students. Our hostels provides a disnct advantage

TELECOMMUNICATION

The Department of Telecommunicaon Engineering was started in the year 1992-93. On the forefront of development and with the advent of technological revoluon and quantum development in the field of Electronics and Communicaons, due to myriad complexies of the e-world, it was inevitable for the evoluon of another field to make a disnct identy of its own. Thus, the ball of development was set into moon and the Telecommunicaon field gradually assumed a role of pre-eminence which is shared by few other engineering disciplines in the modern world.

The Department offers Under-Graduate [UG] Course and has a Research Center under V.T.U. It has excellent infrastructure and all the labs are well equipped. The objecve of the Department is to empower every student to be creave and producve in the field of Telecommunicaon Engineering by imparng excellent Technical Educaon and inculcang Human Values.
