Welcome Message

On behalf of the Korean Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, we are truly excited to welcome our colleagues

from around the world to 2015 International Congress of Korean Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (2015

KORL-HNS) in conjunction with the 89th Annual Congress of Korean Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery/ the

2015 Spring Meeting of Korean Society of Otorhinolaryngologic Clinicians.

We have held the annual meeting of Korean society as international congress from 2014 to expand the Society’s relationship

with other nations. We sincerely thank the International ENT Unions for the help and support it provided from the past congress

to now.

For this Congress to be realized, it took many times of preparations by dedicated members of the Korean Society of

Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, which has been phenomenal. We believe that this experience of working together

with many faces of our society during the preparations of the Congress will help to open a new era of expanded roles of ENT

field in the 21st Century.

We are also confident that the 2015 KORL-HNS will be an excellent platform for the exchange of a wide diversity of

perspectives, the latest developments and emerging challenges of ENT field, and also friendship with our national and

international colleagues. We hope that you are enjoying and rejuvenated by the exciting lectures and programs, and by the

company of colleagues from afar.

We hope you will also be able to savor some of the fine attractions that our country offers. Korea’s five-millennia-long history

has contributed greatly to its illustrious cultural heritage and exotic charm. Often referred to as the “Land of the Morning

Calm”, Korea has its own unique cultural heritage, distinct from that of other Asian countries. A visit to the country’s numerous

historical relics, ten of which are designated UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites, will make participants’ journey all the

more special.

We, indeed, look forward to meeting you soon in Korea.

About Korea

Seoul, the Capital of Korea

Seoul has been the capital of Korea for about 600 years, since the time of the

Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). Seoul was referred to as "Han Yang" during the

The river divides the city into two; the northern part of the city is a focal point for

culture and history, while the southern part is well known for its business district.

Seoul has hosted many international events including: 1986 Asian Games,
