1st August 2017
Lokmanya Tilak, born as Keshav Ganghadhar Tilak, was an Indian
nationalist, teacher, social reformer, and an independence activist. He was the leader of
the Indian Independence Movement & Birth Anniversary of Lokshahar Annabahu
Sathe was a social reformer , folk poet and writer from Maharashtra .
Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Agriculture, Talsande organized celebration of
Death Anniversary & Birth Anniversary on 1st August, 2017 at 4: 00 to 5: 00 pm Prof.
P. S. Bandgar was the president for the function and expressed his views on leadership
and other characteristics of Lokmanya Tilak. NSS program Officer Prof. A. K. Chavan
delivered introductory speech Dr. J. S. Ghatge, Prof. K. R. Pawar and all other teaching
faculties of college were present. Student volunteer Mr. Giram Kartik did anchoring for
this function. Student volunteer Ms. Rajvardhini Patil and student volunteer Ms.
Pranali Patil also delivered speech. Vote of thanks proposed by student volunteer Ms.
Rutuja Patil. All the NSS student volunteer actively participated in the function.

2. Welcome & Orientation Programme for Newly Admitted
NSS Volunteers
12th June 2017
Welcome & Orientation program for newly admitted NSS volunteers
was jointly organized by NSS volunteers of Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Agriculture on
12th June 2017 in college auditorium. The program was initiated with lightning the
lamp and watering a plant to give a message regarding preservation of natural
resources and environment by Principal S. B. Patil. Prof D. G. Gend with Power Point
presentation and slide show stated the guiding principles, personality development
through social work, NSS year planning and distribution of work, upcoming events and
viewed memories of previous years through recorded videos. Principal S. B. Patil
explained the need to participate in competition on state and national level. Student
Welfare Officer Prof. A. B. Gatade, Chief coordinator Prof. P. D. Ukey, Prof. P. S.
Bandgar and all teaching faculties were present in the auditorium. NSS volunteers took
an oath of cleanliness. NSS volunteers and teaching and non teaching staff cleaned
college campus. Ms. Madhuri Kambare, Ms. Shraddha Patil, Ms. Mrunal Karkhile and
Prashant Kokane performed the anchoring and Prof. A. K. Chavan proposed vote of
thanks.

Celebration of Teachers Day & Birth Anniversary Sarvpalli Radhakrushnan
was jointly organized by Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Agriculture, Talsande and Dr.
D. Y. Patil College of Agricultural Engg. Tech. Talsande on 5th Sept. 2017 in
college auditorium. The program was initiated with lighting the lamp and
watering a plant to give a message regarding preservation of natural recourses
and environment. Dr. S. B. Patil, Principal introduced the chief guest he
explained the importance of education and the role of a teacher in current
scenario. Prof. M. M. Narke, Principal Dr. D. Y. Patil. Polytechnic, Kasaba
Bawada, Kolhapur was the chief guest for the function. The chief guest
explored many things such as setting up goals, developing positive attitude, time
management, and keys to be come successful in life.
On this auspicious occasion teachers having highest feedback received
from the students were felicitated. Student Welfare officer Prof. A. B. Gatade,
Prof. P. D. Ukey, Prof. P. S. Bandgar and all teaching staff were present in the
auditorium along with NSS volunteers and newly admitted NSS students. Prof.

Preparation For The IELTS & TOEFL Examinations

Resource person – Mr. Sumit Ugale(former student & qualified IELTS)
Guest lecture on Nature, Scope and Preparation for the IELTS
& TOEFL Examinations was successfully conducted by NSS volunteers of
Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Agriculture, Talsande and Dr. D. Y. Patil College
of agricultural Engineering & Technology, Talsande. The lecture was
organized for undergraduate students to provide guidance for preparation
for IELTS & TOEFL Examinations.
After felicitation of the resource person by Prof. P. S. Bandgar
Chief coordinator , Dr. D. Y. Patil College of agricultural Engineering &
Technology The guest lecture started with an introduction of the resource
person by Prof. A. K. Chavan. Resource person covered the essential
information about IELTS & TOEFL such as, Listening skills, Speaking
skills, Reading and Writing skills , Important things to keep in mind for
appearing for the exams, Fees, Tips for developing the language skills etc.

From the NSS unit of Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Agriculture ,
Talsande to commemorate the 148th birth anniversary of the father of our
nation. Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated along with NSS volunteers with a
great zeal and enthusiasm, For this special event Shri.Shrikant Chavan, Ex.
Subhedar, Indian Army and Shri. Popat Patil (Owner, Balaji
construction,Talsande) were the special Guests. Ex- Subhedar, Indian
Army did the lightening the lamp and pratima poojan of Mahatma Gandhi.
For this function NSS volunteers (47). Prof. A.C. Bandre were present.

To pay tribute to Mahatma Jotiba Phule was organized at DYPCAET,
Talsande & DYP, Talsande on 28th Nov 2017. The program was initiated
with lighting lamp & Pratima Poojan of Mahatma Jotiba Phule a social
reformer, activist, writer and thinker by the chief guest & Chief Co-
coordinator Prof. P. S. Bandgar, he mentioned in his speech life style and
contribution of Mahatma Phule for social upliftment of socially depressed
section of society. Prof A. K. Chavan delivered the introductory speech.
Prof. Ms. S. D. Bhosale also expressed her thoughts. Student
enthusiastically participated in this function and pays tribute to him.
Mr.Prashant Shirke, Ms.Samruddhi Jamdar performed the anchoring with
PPT presentation touching various aspects of Mahatma Phule’s life and
Mr.Vishal Dete delivered vote of thanks.

To Create the awareness among the students of agriculture and engineering to work on
environmental issues collaboratively, a guest lecture organized. As per tradition before the lecture a
plant was watered by the chief guests and all dignitaries. Dr. Madhukar Bachulkar had pointed out
various things to keep the natural resources alive . He had covered important elements such as,
• Taxonomy of plants
• Biodiversity in India
• The production of waste and their management
• The disastrous effects on natural resources due to lack of waste management
• The ‘Zoom Prakalp’ in Kolhapur
• The ways of managing waste
• The role of students and Research scholars in solid waste management
Shri Viraj Kop delivered a speech and explained the importance of collaborative work to fight

Republic Day was celebrated on 26th Jan,2018 to mark the day when
the Indian Constitution came to force. The Flag Hoisting ceremony was done by the Chief Guest Dr. A.
K. Gupta, Executive Director, D. Y. Patil Group, Kolhapur. For this event Dr. S. R. Pavaskar Director, Dr.
D. Y. Patil Technical Campus, Dr. S. B. Patil Principal, Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Agricultural

As per tradition every year on behalf of NSS unit Dr. D. Y. Patil
College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology and College of Agriculture
Talsande Celebrated the birth anniversary of ‘Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’ with a
great joy and full of energy . The program started with paying floral tributes of
procession to statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by Prof. P. D.Ukey, Chief
Coordinator, DYPCA Talsande at college. On this auspicious occasion special guest
lecture of Vijaysingh Mohite on “life and history of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj” was
organized. In his speech he pointed out how in this so called modern era the moral
lessons and life and works of Shivaji Maharaj be influential to the people even he
explained these lessons would be implemented to create an entrepreneurship Prof. P.
D. Ukey, Chief Coordinator, DYPCA Talsande, Prof. Y.V. Patil, Prof. Ms. S. B. Mali
and non-teaching staff also present for the program. Before earlier day On 18th
February 2018, Prof. A. S. Bandre along with the team of NSS took part in cleanness
at ‘Panhala Fort’.
Various kinds of cultural programmes, extra co-curricular activities
also organized such ‘Mardani Khel’.

After inauguration of this camp all the volunteers were divided in
equal groups and they cleaned various public places.Villagers,
dignitaries from the village and faculty members and Prof. P. D.
Ukey and Prof. S. N. Kolekar participated in cleanness drive.
Session- 02
In this session students are divided onto different groups and
visited projects sites and crop fields in the village.
Session- 03
In last session an expert lecture of Mr. R. S. Sawant- Bhosale on
the topic‘Krushi Vistar’ was organized. In his lecture he giving
important facility and Schemes provided by the state as well as
central government to the farmers. Further he stressed on newer
technology implemented in agriculture. The villagers actively
participated and interacted regarding queries.
A seven days ‘Special Camp organized by NSS unit Dr. D. Y. Patil
college of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Talsande at village ‘Ghunki, Tal-
Hatkanangle Dist- Kolhapur of, under the slogan “Selection of Projects, Planning and
execution through Rural Development” This program was to develop a personality
and to awake a social responsibilities . The NSS volunteers did various activities , such as
campaigning, soil conservation, water conservation, disaster management, cleanness,
expert lectures, demonstration of agriculture equipments, awareness & health camps
projects and field visits , cultural programmes career guidance and useful works which
could implemented to develop the village.

02 11/02/2018 Session – 01
As a part of ‘Swacha Bharat Abhiyan’ a special rally was organized.
After completing the rally with their divided team they cleaned
temples in the villages as Hanuman mandir and shivparvati temple .
Session- 02
In this session the student volunteers clean around the temples. Students also
visited to Poultry unit and aware about the vaccination schedule of poultry
birds.
Session- 03
In this session a guest lecture of Prof. D.M. Patil on the topic of “Package of
Practices of Hybrid Tomato” was organized. He covered important aspects
about the growing of hybrid tomato. He elaborate the points such as selection
of variety, spacing, fertilizer management, and control of insect and pest
management of tomato.
03 12/02/2018 Session – 01
In this session morning rally was organized to create awareness of cleanness,
Important public places were cleaned during rally.
Session- 02
In this special session guidance lectures on “Carrier in Agriculture" was
organized in ‘Kini High School Kini’ for 10th class students. Volunteers
provided guidance on admission process, weightages etc.
Session- 03
In this session a guest lecture of Prof. D.N. Sawant on the topic of “Technology
of Preparation of Milk and Milk Products” was organized. He gave
demonstration on preparation of pannier from milk to the villagers female. He
elaborated brief procedures of different products prepared from milk.
04 13/02/2018 Session – 01
In this session NSS volunteers focused on Visited to farmers plot and
interacted with farmers regarding package of practices of different crops.
Students share technical information to farmers.
Session- 02
In the afternoon session student volunteers decided to cleaning around the
ponds located near the Kini high school, Kini.
Session- 03
An expert lecture on the topic of ‘Nursery Management of Vegetables’ Dr. N.D.
Narkar was organized. He had covered the technical points for establishment of
nursery and their management. Further He elaborate the different schemes for
Establishment of nursery by state government of Maharashtra.

In this session NSS volunteers organized a special rally to spread
awareness regarding, Tree plantation and its importance with
participation of students from kini high school kini.
Session- 02
This session comprised about visited to different agricultural projects
as Khilar cow and gained information about the projects. Also visited
the organically grown sugarcane plot and got information the about the
cultivation of sugarcane.
Session- 03
In this session student volunteers presented cultural programmes and
road shows like ‘Vyasanmukti’ & ‘Beti bachao, Beti Padhao’.

Session – 01
In this session all NSS volunteers as a part of ‘Swacha Bharat Abhiyan’
cleaned important places of a village like near Gram Panchayat Office
and main roads of village.
Session- 02
In this session a special Blood Donation camp was organized to aware
the importance blood, Checking of blood group. NSS volunteers and
young youth actively participated in camp.
Session- 03
In this session NSS volunteers visited to Z. P. School, Kini and
distributed the notebook and pen to the students.

In this session NSS volunteers decided and done the tree plantation at
Kini High school, Kini and also watered to all the trees around the
high school area.
Session- 02
In this session farewell function was organized in presence of sarpanch
along with all grampanchayat members were present for the function.

Expert lectures is an integral part of ‘Special Camp, In village like ‘Kini’ peoples depends
upon agriculture for their livelihood, therefore NSS volunteers came to know that many farmers facing
agriculture problems in their field and need of farmers arrange a technical sessions to farmers during the
camp . On the behalf of NSS unit Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Agriculture, Talsande organized such
technical sessions of different experts of different subjects were organized to farmers for solving their
problems during cultivation of different agricultural crops.
1) Krushi Vistar–
Mr. R.S. Sawant –Bhosale delivered lecture on the topic ‘Krushi Vistar’ he has giving
important Facility and Schemes provided by the State as well as central government to the farmers.
Further he also stressed on regarding newer technology in agriculture to the villagers. The villagers
actively participated in lecture.
2) Package of Practices of Hybrid Tomato–
Mr. D. M. Patil covered important aspects regarding the growing of hybrid tomato . He
elaborate the points regarding the tomato crops. such as selection of variety , spacing, fertilizer
management, and also control of insect and pest management of tomato crops.
3 Technology of Preparation of Milk and Milk Products–
Prof. D.N. Sawant on the topic of “Technology of Preparation of Milk and Milk Products” he giving
demonstration on preparation of different products from milk like pannier to the villagers female. He also
giving brief information regarding different products prepared from milk by giving importance of
milk in human diet.
4 Nursery Management of Vegetables-
Dr. N. D. Narkar (Assistant Professor, Horticulture, Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Agriculture, Talsande ) has
covered technical points for preparation of vegetable nursery and their management. He also elaborate
the different schemes of Department of Agriculture, State Government of Maharashtra regarding nursery
establishment.
