✔ Emphasises opportunities to support the nursing workforce to improve health systems

Stroke Nurse ServiceIND Case study: Hong Kong

• The Hong Kong Stroke Nurse role has evolved to encompasses combined roles as case manager, facilitator, tissue plasminogen activator nurse. ✔ As a result: 100% patients admitted with

acute stroke receive appropriate investigations and treatment.

✔ 2,500 patients have benefited from this program within 12 months.

✔ This means fewer patients are dying or suffering the long-term effects caused by stroke.

Community health centres for older people provide integrated health services and health promotion for NCDs.

‘Increasing the number of nurses, and developing nursing so that nurses can achieve their potential, will also have the wider triple impact of improving health, promoting gender equality and supporting economic growth.’
