1. ABOUT THE SOCIETY

ANIL NEERUKONDA EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY (ANES) wasfounded by Dr. N.B.R. Prasad, an NRI Philanthropist from theUSA and Sri V.Thapovardhan an industrialist and eminenteducationist in memory of Late Anil Neerukonda, S/o. Dr.N.B.R.Prasd in the year 2000. Working with missionary zeal,relentless commitment and strong financial backing, Dr.Prasad, along with his friends, planned and completed a $6million Venkateswara Temple in Greater Chicago, and thismodern temple of higher education “Anil Neerukonda Instituteof Technology & Sciences”.

ANES was registered at Visakhapatnam on 7th of August, 2000with the following Aims & Objectives.

� To organize, establish and manage both Technical and Non-Technical Colleges and Charitable Institutions without anymotive of profit.

� To train pupils to be responsible and productive citizens bynurturing their potentiality to play a useful and effective rolein the society.

� To promote international understanding in educational &cultural spheres for promoting co-operation among People andNations.

Thapovardhan as Secretaryand a number of eminent persons with social commitment asits members, ANES sponsors ANIL NEERUKONDA INSTITUTE OFTECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCES (ANITS) in Greater VisakhapatnamMunicipality, with the avowed objective of developing it as a“Centre for Excellence”.

2. THE INSTITUTE

ANIL NEERUKONDA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCES(ANITS) was established in the Academic Year 2001-02 withthe approval of the ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICALEDUCATION (AICTE), New Delhi and the Government of AndhraPradesh and is permanently affiliated to ANDHRA UNIVERSITY(AU), Visakhapatnam. The Institute has been accredited byNBA for all the eligible courses.

The identified goals of ANITS are

� To attain National Standards within the first five years(achieved the goal and ANITS stands first among all the collegesstarted in 2001 and afterwards).

� To strive for International recognition in the shortest possibleperiod.

ANITS is located in Sangivalasa, Greater VisakhapatnamMunicipal Corporation (GVMC) and is approximately 300 metersaway from the Chennai - Kolkatta National Highway (NH-16).The Institute is within 30 minutes drive from RTC Complex,Visakhapatnam city centre and Express Service Buses ply fromthis centre at every 15 minutes interval.

7. ABOUT THE FACULTY

The academic programmes and all academic activities of theInstitute are supported by a strong contingent of about 222faculty members comprising Professors, Associate Professorsand Assistant Professors who are well qualified and most ofthem have more than 30 yrs of experience. ANITS has adoptedscientific methods of recruitment, appraisal & training of itsfaculty to ensure the strengthening of this key segment of theinstitute.

8. ADMINISTRATION

The administration of the college is ably looked after by theSecretary & Correspondent, The Director and the Principal,all of whom are experienced administrators and renownedacademicians. They are well supported by the Heads of thevarious departments, the Training & Placement Officer andthe Administrative Officer.

9. INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES

9.1 Instructional Areas

The college has a built-up area of over 3,57,667 sq.ft of RCCBuildings. Apart from regular class rooms, labs, auditoriums,waiting halls and other amenities, a large extent of area isalso earmarked for sports activities like Cricket, Volleyball,Gym and Indoor Games.

9.2 Central Library

The Central Library, ANITS is one amongst major technologicallibraries in the area of engineering and technology. The Library wasestablished in 2001. Located in the western wing of the block, thecentral library has a floor area of more than 7000sq. ft. The Libraryis well equipped with modem facilities and resources (print andelectronic) in the forms of Books -33271, Titles - 7870, Journals -99, Project Reports- 389, Bound Volumes – 600, CDROMs, DVD-ROM- 2340, Previous question papers, sc&st Book Bank and Eight OnlineDatabases etc. It is proposed to spend 36.68 Lakhs on the library inthe academic year 2015-2016. Our library operations have beencomputerized using LIBSYS software package. In addition to thecentral library, every department has its own departmental library.It has also developed a full-fledged Digital Library equipped withnecessary modem equipment in order to provide various digital modeLibrary services. Digital Library section of the Central Library hasdeveloped an institutional digital repository using open sourcesoftware D Space, which preserve the institute’s intellectual outputfor campus wide access and digital preservation for the posterity.The central library is opened from 8.00 A.M. to 7.00 P.M on allworking days. Reprography facilities are available in the centrallibrary for the benefit of the students. The digital Library sectionhas 30 exclusive systems with internet connectivity, the studentscan browse the internet and can also download useful information,during their free time.

9.3 Laboratories

All the Laboratories of the various departments are wellfurnished with state of-the-art equipment and excellentfacilities that satisfy and even exceed the curriculum needsand the AICTE norms.

498 systems were installed with highest configuration of corei5 processors to enhance the computing facility in the CSE &IT Departments. There is a separate Central Computer Centrefor Research & Project works and for various training programs.In addition, the CSE and IT departments have 12 laboratorieswith Latest i-5 conifigration systems conntected to Hightendserver duly supported by licensed system software andapplication software adequate to cater to the needs of thestudents and are connected by LAN/Wi-Fi.

The institute has an English Language Laboratory with specialsoftware packages which provide a self-paced interactivelearning environment to our students for improving theircommunication skills. The Centre for Soft Skills Trainingprovides a specially designed 100 hour training programme toall the final year students, equipping them with all thenecessary skills for Campus Recruitment. Even though it isnot a part of the curriculum prescribed by the university,every student spends about 40 hours in this laboratoryduring the first year of his / her study here. Quite a goodnumber of our pre-final year and final-year students also usethe facilities in this laboratory to prepare themselves for TOEFL& GRE, in addition to additional training, imparted to them atfinal year level.

9.4 Computers, LAN & Internet

ANITS has excellent computational and support facilities in

the form of a campus-wide Local Area Network and

departmental computer centres with a number of licensed

and specialized software packages to meet their specific

requirements.

The Institute has a 100 Mbps 1:1 Leased Line and 40 Mbps

NMEICT (National Mission on Education Through Information

and Communication Technology), MHRD, Connectivity provided

by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

LAN: Entire campus is connected with optical fiber and CAT-6

cable and Wi-Fi connected.

With total student strength of 3280 and total of 1074 systems,

the computers-to-student ratio works out to be better than

1:3 for the college.

9.5 Student amenities

i) Cafeteria: The institute has a highly hygienically maintainedcanteen which supplies nutritious and delicious snacks, lunchetc. at subsidized prices. The canteen has an area of 6400 sq.ft.It is kept open from 8.00 A.M. to 5.30 P.M. on all working days.

ii) Water supply: There are 5 bore wells in ANITS campus withadequate yield to fully meet the water requirement fordrinking, laboratory use and other purposes. An RO Plant(Mineral Water Plant) with a capacity of 1000 Liter per hourfor drinking has also been established.

iii) Auditorium & Seminar Hall: The Auditorium is fully furnishedand centrally air-conditioned with a seating capacity of 400people with excellent projection facilities and audio system.Seminar Halls in all core Departments with good seating areavailable.

iv) STD / ISD Booth: An STD / ISD booth has been provided withinthe campus for use by the staff & students. There arealtogether 3 lines, one for a wall-mounted coin box phoneand two for the table top instruments.

v) Stationery Shop: A stationery shop exists in the campus forthe benefit of the students. All stationery items like papers,pencils, pens, record note books, ordinary notebooks andcalculators, are available at reasonable prices. Photo copying(Xeroxing) facility is also available in the shop.

vi) Medical Facilities: Anil Neerukonda Educational Society hasbeen running a 350-bed hospital attached to Anil NeerukondaInstitute of Medical Sciences with specialists heading all themain departments which caters to close 40 villages in andaround Bheemunipatnam Mandal. And it has excellentdiagnostic and infrastructural facilities with an ambulance inthe area adjoining ANITS campus. This has been operationalfor the last 10 years and ANITS students and staff can availthemselves this facility.

vii) Girls’ Lounges: A total of twelve waiting halls with chairs,

drinking water, rest room facilities have been provided for

usage by Girls, across the campus covering all blocks.

viii) Boys’ Lounges: Eight waiting halls are available for boys in

various Departments.

ix) Conference Hall: A fully equipped, furnished and air-

conditioned conference hall about 600 sq. ft is available

adjacent to Principal’s room for conducting meetings of the

Heads of Departments and various committees.

x) Standby Generator: Electrical power is supplied to ANITS

through a 11 KV 3-phase feeder from A.P. Transco. The supply

is received in 11 KV/415V sub-station located inside the

campus.

ANITS has presently a standby 20KVA, 125 KVA and 250 KVA

diesel generators to support power segment in case the A.P.

Transco supply fails. This is more than 100% backup.

xi) Communication: At present, ANITS has 8 telephone lines, and

an expandable EPABX that connects all departments and a FAX.

xii) Transport: Considering the need to provide comfortable and

safe transport to the students & staff, ANITS is running a fleet

of 15 buses at present. These buses originate at different

points like MVP colony, Sitammadhara, Dwarakanagar,

Gajuwaka, Gopalapatnam, Kurmannapalem, Visakha Steel

Plant quarters, Simhachalam, Chinamushiriwada etc. in the

city and terminate at the campus. There are a large number

of express city and route buses which touch Sangivalasa bus

stop on the National Highway, which is just 300 meters away

from the institute.

xiii) Post Office & Bank: At present, Post office and Bank do not

exist within the Institute campus. However, the Tagarapuvalasa

post office is just a 5 minute walk, and the Chittivalasa branch

of the State Bank of India is only about 1/2 km. from the

Institute and a mail courier agent is also stationed at the

same place. The ATM facility of the SBI is available adjacent

to ANITS in ANIIMS Medical college.

xiv) Hostels: ANITS has two hostels, one for boys with a capacity

of 500 and the other for girls with a capacity of 300 with

excellent facilities as detailed below

(i) A resident warden and matron for each hostel.

(ii) Round-the-clock security.

(iii) Hygienically cooked and served food - Vegetarian and

Non-Vegetarian.

(iv) Common room facility with T.V and popular magazines.

(v) Air Conditioner Facility is also available.

(vi) Medical attendance & first aid.

(vii) Sports & Games facilities: Facilities exist for indoor

games like Caroms, Table-Tennis & Chess and outdoor

games like Volley ball, Kabaddi, Tennicoit etc.

(viii) Gymnasium.

10. ACADEMIC SUPPORT FACILITIES

To strengthen the teaching-learning process and to enhance

the teacher student relationship through informal interaction,

several innovative practices have been introduced at ANITS.

10.1 Proctorial System

Proctorial system is designed with a view to enhance the

student- teacher relationship and encourage and help the

students in their academic and personal problems. It makes

the learning process a pleasant experience for them and

thereby strengthens the teaching-learning process. In this

system, faculty members are designated as Proctors and about

15 students are assigned to each proctor. The proctor acts as

the campus guardian, mentor and guide to all those students

assigned to him/her and keeps a record of their academic

performance, attendance, academic & personal problems, if

any, by maintaining informal interaction with them and as

well as with their parents. It is hoped that this would create a

student friendly and student-centric environment in the

institute, which will be conductive to the healthy growth and

the intellectual development of the students.

Student Counsellor: A qualified psychology counselor is

appointed on full time basis to guide, counsel and motivate

the students.

10.2 Class Review Committees

During every semester, a class Review committee (CRC) is

constituted for each class. All the faculty members handling

theory /practical classes for that class and 4 students of that

class (2 boys and 2 girls), nominated by the H.O.D concerned

(or the First year co-ordinator, in the case of First year classes)

will be members of the CRC for that class. It will be headed

by the H.O.D concerned (or the first year co-ordinator). It

will meet 2 times in a semester. In its meetings, the CRC

members review the progress and the coverage of syllabus in

each theory subject and the number of experiments conducted

by the students in each practical subject. Extra classes are

arranged for those subjects in which the syllabus coverage is

inadequate. This helps in the full coverage of the prescribed

syllabus in every subject that too at a uniform pace. It also

helps the H.O.D to acquaint himself with the difficulties, if

any, being experienced by the students in their theory &

practical classes.

10.3 Centralized Student Feedback

The institute has a scientifically designed and fully

computerized system of collecting student feedback and

analyzing it in order to evaluate the performance of every

faculty member. It helps the administration in identifying the

strengths and weaknesses of every teacher. The teachers are

given appropriate advice /training, based on this feedback.

10.4 Faculty Development

ANITS encourages its faculty members to attend/conductseminars, workshops and conferences in order to enable themto continually update and enhance their knowledge and skills.ANITS also extends support to its faculty members to improvetheir qualification/knowledge in several ways that includessponsoring them under the Quality Improvement Program ofthe AICTE. A well-designed Faculty Development Program isbeing conducted every year at ANITS, to refresh and strengthentheir teaching Methodology.

10.5 Interactive communication skills Laboratory – Beyondsyllabus

A computer-based interactive communication skills laboratoryhas been established with an initial investment of Rs. 5.00lakhs to train students in phonetics and communications skills.This facility is being extensively used by the first year studentsfor whom it is made compulsory, although it is not a part ofthe regular curriculum. It is also being used by those 3rd andfinal year students who appear for TOEFL/GRE.

10.6 Remedial Classes

Remedial classes are arranged in certain identified subjectsfor academically weak students whose performance in themid-term examinations is poor. These classes are conductedoutside /within the institute working hours by senior facultymembers and are absolutely free of cost to the students.

10.7 Value-Addition courses

To bridge the gap between the requirements of the industryon the one hand and the topics prescribed by the Universityin the curriculum on the other, ANITS arranges, ‘value-addition’courses at the college, for the benefit of its students, whichare outsourced to experts in the fields concerned.

10.8 Internal Assessment

(i) In each subject a total of two mid-term examinations persemester for all the students.

(ii) The average of the marks secured in the mid-termexaminations conducted during a semester as well as the marksawarded for the various assignments given during that semesterwill be considered for awarding the internal assessment marksin each subject.

(iii) Tuition fee waiver: - Fee waiver is provided for meritoriousstudents with EAMCET ranks below 2000.

10.9 Scholarships

(i) Merit-Cum-Means Scholarships and Tuition Waivers:

Merit-Cum-Means scholarships, upto a maximum of US$2000per awardee, are awarded to students of ANITS by the ANILNEERUKONDA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION (ANCF). Tuition Feewaivers / grant-in-aids for meritorious students are awarded.

(ii) Merit Awards:

To create a healthy competition among the students foracademic excellence, the management of ANITS has institutedmerit awards. A student standing first in his section in theUniversity examinations, is awarded Rs 2,000/-, while thestudent standing second is awarded Rs 1,000/-.

Half of the award is given in cash form while the rest is given

in the form of books chosen by the student.

10.10 Gold Medals for Academic Excellence

The Management, has instituted Gold medals (10 grams) to

be awarded every year to the topper of each branch by the

end of the under graduate course.

11. EXTRA-CURRICULAR & CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Facilities exist for a few indoor and outdoor games. The

institute organizes several extra-curricular activities in

addition to sports & games, with a view to enhance the

personality of the students. Such activities relieve the students

from the stress arising out of rigorous academic schedule and

help to bring out the dormant talents inherent in them.

‘College Day’ is the time for fun-filled competitions; an event

that marks the annual sports, literary and cultural fete. ANITS

brings out an annual magazine-‘ECHOES’ and quarterly news

letters. There are several clubs for encouraging and nurturing

the artistic and oratory talents of the students. In addition,

there are number of professional bodies in the college to

organize conferences, seminars, guest lectures, workshops

and other co-curricular activities. They include ACES in the

department of ECE, AEEEA in the department of EEE, AMEA in

the department of Mechanical, HILIOS in the department of

IT, CIIA in the department of CSE, BLAZE in the department of

Chemical and Biotech.

12. INDUSTRY-INSTITUTE INTERACTION

ANITS strongly believes that the quality of technical educationwill be greatly enhanced if strong industry-institute interactionexists. Hence, we, at ANITS take steps to forge strong linkswith the nearby industries. As a result we have M.O.Us with anumber of industries like TCS, IBM, Infosys, CSC (ComputerSociety Corporation), Unisys, L&T, HCL Info Systems Limited,M/s. Semantic Space Technologies Limited, M/s. UTLTechnologies Limited, M/s. Aurobindo Pharma Limited, M/s.Andhra Electronics Limited, M/s. MSME, Govt. of INDIA,Metallic Bellows (I) Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, M/s. EtikoppakaCoopérative & Agricultures Society etc. We are activelyparticipating in the Campus Connect program of Infosys andsigned an M.O.U. with them for that purpose.

The college is partnered with Mission R&D (Hyderabad),founded by R&D leaders with a vision to encourage Intelligent,Hardworking, Motivated students to realize their full potentialand prepare them for a great career in R&D.

The college is collaborated with Unisys Global Solutions India(Bangalore) for internship program at pre-final yearengineering/M.C.A students in the year 2013.

The college is also accredited by TCS & a good number of ourstudents do industry projects.

The college conducts regular Faculty Development Programsby renowned experts in Technical Education (NITTTR-FDP,Wipro Mission 10X, Infosys Campus Connect, TCS CampusCommune, IBM-TGMC etc).A number of guest lectures are givenevery year by eminent industry professionals for the benefitof our students and faculty.

13. TRAINING, PLACEMENTS & COUNSELLING:

The Training & Placement Department is headed by anexperienced ‘Dean (T &P)’; assisted by a team comprisingquant and verbal trainers who provide career and personalguidance to the students. The department arranges ‘Pre-Placement training ‘to the students to ensure that they arewell prepared to face the challenges during the recruitmentprocess.

The department spares no efforts in arranging ‘on campus ‘drives by high-end companies like Deloitte, FMC Technologies,Kony Labs, MuSigma, CapitalIQ, Hyundai R&D to mention afew. Summer training classes are organized for the studentsin order to provide a fillip to the abilities and skill sets of thestudents.

The students are facilitated to participate in several prestigiouscoding contests so that their technical abilities come to thefore. Mission R&D is an important program that groomsdeserving students to explore their innate talent in theresearch field. These R & D activities promote analytical andtechnical expertise among the students. Successful studentsare then absorbed into companies which work on R & D. Thestudents are benefitted as they are employed with a verygood package and have made a good professional beginning.

The students are assisted in placements even after they leavecollege. This helps those students who could not get placedwhile on campus due to active backlogs while pursuing theirengineering course.

The dept also conducts regular workshops on “Various CareersOptions after Engineering” by experts from Time, Conduira,British Council and so on.

An experienced teacher is given charge as ‘Counsellor’ to dealwith any personal (psychological) issues of students. Sheregularly interacts with students, attends to their problems,

counsels them and brings the information to the notice ofmanagement if it is critical.

Thus, the Training and Placement Department has beenexemplary in executing its services to the student community.

15. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

ANITS Alumni Association (AAA) was formed in October, 2006with the following objectives:

(a) To provide a forum for interaction among the alumni and alsobetween the alumni and the present students.

(b) To enable the alumni to take an active part in the activitiesand in the development of ANITS.

It was registered with the Registrar of Societies in December,2006. Annual Alumni meeting is conducted in the 1st week ofDecember every year and the Dean, Training and Placement,Mr. G.V.R. Murthy looks after the activities.

16. RULES OF CONDUCT

(i) ANITS is known for its discipline. Every student must abide bythe rules and regulations of the Institute framed from timeto time in connection with punctuality, attendance etc. Failureto comply with the rules and regulations will attract severepunishment including expulsion from the institute.

(ii) No students unions, except professional associations, arepermitted in the institute.

(iii) Students are strictly prohibited from carrying out strikes,staging dharna and other similar forms of protests. Studentsfound indulging in such activities will be summarily expelledfrom the institute.

(iv) Ragging, in any form, is strictly prohibited. Ragging is anydisorderly conduct i.e. whether by words spoken or written,or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating orhandling any student with rudeness, indulging in rowdy or in

disciplined activities which cause or likely to cause annoyance,hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehensionthereof in a fresher or a junior student and which has theeffect of causing or generating a sense of shame orembarrassment so as to adversely affect the psyche of a fresheror a junior student. Those found indulging in ragging are liablefor punishment(s) noted hereunder as per the graveness ofthe offence under the “Prohibition of Ragging Act of AndhraPradesh”

2. Suspension from attending classes

3. Withholding / withdrawing scholarship / fellowship andother benefits

4. Debarring from appearing any test / examination or otherevaluation process

5. Withholding results

6. Debarring from representing the institution in anyNational or International meet, tournament, youthfestival, etc.,

7. Suspension, expulsion from the hostels

8. Rustication from the institution for periods varying from1 to 2 academic years

9. Expulsion from the Institution and consequent debarringfrom admission to any other Institution

10. Fine up to 50,000/-

11. Rigorous imprisonment up to three years (by Court ofLaw) etc. under act 26 of 1997 and vide G.O.M.S. No:67 dated: 31-08-2002.

It may be noted that as per the Supreme Court order dt: 16-05-2009 in SLP No. 24295/04, “it is mandatory for theInstitution, where the incident of ragging is reported, to filea First Information Report (F.I.R) before the local Policeauthorities and such reports also be made to the CivilAuthorities and Higher Police authorities for taking necessaryaction in the matter”.

(v) Smoking, Consumption of alcoholic drinks and gambling ofany kind is prohibited in the institute. Any student found inthe institute premises in an intoxicated condition at any timewill be summarily expelled from the institute.

(vi) Every student must adhere to the class-room norms and co-operate with the teacher in the smooth conduct of the classwork.

(vii) Every student must co-operate in keeping the institutepremises clean and hygienic. Any property of the institutemust be handled carefully, failing which, the students involvedwill be liable to make good the loss caused to the institute.

(viii) All the undergraduate students admitted from 2013-2014onwards must wear uniform as prescribed by the instituteduring the time they spend in the institute. All other studentsmust wear formal and decent dress during the same time. T-Shirts of all kinds are not allowed.

(ix) The parent and the student should jointly execute anundertaking regarding the behavior of the student during his/her stay in the institute.

(x) The decision of the Principal shall be final and binding in allmatters pertaining to the student’s discipline. He has theauthority to take any disciplinary action as he deems fitincluding suspension and rustication.

(xi) Cell Phones: Use and carrying of cell phones is prohibited byState Government of Andhra Pradesh in EducationalInstitutions, vide GO. No: APSCHE letter No: H2/127150/2005dated 24-03-2006. The Cell Phones will be confiscated, iffound being used / possessed by the students while they arein the premises.

17. ATTENDANCE RULES

(i) The college functions from 8:40 am to 3:20 pm with a 50minutes lunch break between 11.10 am to 12:00 noon for theI/IV BE/BTech students and 12:00 noon to 12:50 pm for therest of the students.

(ii) Every student shall be present in the class room sharp at 8:40a.m. Late comers are liable to be punished/will be markedabsent.

(iii) Students must regularly attend all the classes and must takeactive interest in the theory and practical classes.

(iv) A student shall put in at least 75 % attendance in a semesterin order to be eligible to appear for the Universityexaminations.

(v) A Student failing to put in 75 % attendance on account of ill-health will be eligible to apply for condonation of the shortageof attendance provided he/she has 66% or more of attendance.The Principal may consider such cases on production ofappropriate documentary evidence and recommend to theUniversity for Condonation.

(vi) A candidate who cannot satisfy the attendance requirementsas specified above due to late admission under specialcircumstances, reasonable and acceptable to the Universityon the basis of documents, shall attend at least 50% of thetotal scheduled periods during that academic year and shallhave attended at least 90% of the total periods of instructionsheld from the date of admission.

(vii) Students failing to get 75% attendance and not covered byitem (v) above will be detained and will not be allowed toappear for the university examinations. They will have to getreadmitted into the same semester and class in the succeedingyear by paying the tuition fee again.

18. ADMISSION PROCEDURE

(A) For B.E/B.Tech Program

(i) The EAMCET convener fills up 70% of the seats in the Instituteby allotting the candidates to this institute on the basis oftheir choice, their EAMCET ranks and the reservation policyof the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.

(ii) The remaining 30% of the seats are filled up by the Instituteunder the Management / NRI quota as per the guidelinesgiven by the APSCHE and the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh forthis purpose.

(iii) The convener of ECET admits 20% of the sanctioned intake foreach program for admission directly into the II year of the 4-year B.E/B.Tech program from among the Diploma holders,based on their rank in ECET, their choice of the institute andthe reservation policy of the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, underthe lateral entry scheme.

(B) M.E. / M.Tech Program

(i) The PG-CET Convener allots students for 70% of the sanctionedin take by allotting the candidates to this institute on thebasis of their choice, based on their GATE and PG-CET ranksand the reservation policy of the Govt. of A.P.

(ii) The remaining 30% of the seats are filled up by the Instituteunder the Management / NRI quota as per the guidelines givenby the APSCHE and the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh for thispurpose.

19. FEE STRUCTURE

A. Engineering & Technology Programs

(1) Tuition Fee:

The tuition fee charged for B.E/B.Tech programs is as per thenorms prescribed by the Andhra Pradesh State Govt. from timeto time.

An additional amount ofRs.3,000 is to paid for NBA accredited programs viz. ECE, EEE,CSE, MECH & IT. This amount covers the admission fee, cautiondeposit, Alumni membership fee as well as for special Courses/

Work, and fee payable to the Andhra University. The amountto be paid for remaining 3-years will be announced at thebeginning of successive academic years.

(ii) For those admitted under NRI/Management Quota (Category: B):

An amount of Rs 20,500/- has to be paid by every student atthe time of admission into the First year of the 4-year B.E/B.Tech degree program. An additional amount of Rs.3,000 isto paid for NBA accredited programs initiatives viz.ECE, EEE,CSE MECH & IT. This amount covers the admission fee, cautiondeposit (refundable), Alumni membership fee etc. as well asfirst installment of the fee payable to the Andhra Universityunder UDF (Rs 10,000/- per year). The amount to be paid forremaining 3-years will be announced at the beginning of thesuccessive academic years.

B. M.E/M.Tech Programs

(1) Tuition Fee

The tuition fee charged for M.E./M.Tech. programs is as perthe norms prescribed by the Andhra Pradesh State Govt. fromtime to time.

(Category: B)

An amount of Rs. 20,300/- has to be paid by every student atthe time of admission into the First year of the 2-year M.E/M.Tech degree program. This amount covers the admissionfee, caution deposit (refundable), Alumni membership fee etc.as well as first installment of the fee payable to the AndhraUniversity under UDF. The amount to be paid for second yearwill be announced at the beginning of next academic year.

20. PROFESSIONAL BODIES IN THE COLLEGE

1. ANITS is granted with local student chapter of IIE for thedepartment of ECE, EEE, CSE, Mechanical & Civil Engineering.

2. ANITS is an Institutional member of ISTE, New-Delhi. It hasstudent strength of 337 and faculty strength of 50.

3. ANITS has IETE chapter with student strength of 146 and twofellow members along with 19 faculty as its members.

4. ANITS has opened a Chapter of IEEE with a starting strengthof 102 students along with 10 faculty as its members.

5. ANITS has opened a Student Chapter of Computer Society ofIndia with more than 320 students and 15 faculty as itsmembers. It has been awarded four times as the best chapterin the region comprising of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka(2010 & 2014).

6. A Chapter of Indian Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) has been jointly opened byMechanical and Electrical Engineering Department with astrength of 145 students.

7. A unit of Professional Society ‘Biotech Research Society ofIndia (BRSI) has been initiated by Biotech Engineering students.
