ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

Angadi Institute of Technology and Management, Department of Computer Science and

Engineering organized inauguration of its Association of Computer Engineers and

Fresher’s Day function on Thursday, 20th September, 2018. Mr. Sreenivasa Ramanujam,

Academic Relationship Manager –TCS, Karnataka was the chief guest of the function. The

dais was shared by Dr. Spoorti Patil, Director, Suresh Angadi Education Foundation,

Belagavi, Dr. Sanjay Pujari, Principal and Director, AITM, Belagavi, Shri Raju Joshi,

Administrator, AITM, Belagavi and Prof. Sagar Birje, HOD, CSE.

Mr. Sreenivasa Ramanujam in his motivational talk encouraged students to make the best

use of the platform given to them in the form of association so that they can develop their

overall personality and help them to bridge the gap between academics and Industry by

learning new technology such as Cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning

and Data Analytics through workshops and guest lectures. Dr.Spoorti Patil in her

presidential remarks congratulated the Department faculties and students for organizing

various workshops, guest lectures and Placement Talks.

Miss.Ashwita Konnur, student secretary of ACE presented the annual report which

highlighted the activities carried out by ACE and the various achievements of the faculty

members and students in different fields. Staff members, students of C.S.E department

and HODs of various departments were also present for the function. Students have

excelled in VTU exams were also being felicitated. Prof.Priyanka Pujari, ACE coordinator,

staff members and students coordinated in making the event a grand success.

Triveni G. Kole , Soumya Patil, Tejasvi Arolkar, Kalyani Banaskar, Shivani Usulkar, Shruti

Patil, Vivechan Betageri, Melvin Carasco conducted technical quiz and technical treasure

hunt for 3rd sem students. In this event Shivani got 1st prize, Sampreet Pattanshetti got 2nd

prize & Harsha got 3rd prize.

Civil Engineering

“Association of Civil Engineering Students”(ACES) for academic year 2018-2019 was

inaugurated on 30th August 2018. Dr. Sharad Joshi, HOD and Professor, Department of

Civil Engineering, KLEIT, Hubbali was the chief guest. Dr. S A Pujari presided over the

function. Toppers of the even semesters were given Certificates. Also, the Fresher’s Day

was celebrated for the 3rd semester students.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineering students (AEES) for the academic

year 2018-19 was inaugurated on 6th September 2018. Dr Raghuram L Naik, Professor of

E&E Department, Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkot, was the chief guest.

Dr. S. A. Pujari, Principal & Director , AITM preceded over the function.

Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineering students (AEES) for the academic

year 2018-19 celebrated Teacher’s day on 5/09/2018 in the department.

Mechanical Engineering

BIOFUEL awareness program at AITM Belagavi on 26 SEP 2018 in collaboration with VTU,

Belagavi.

BIOFUEL awareness program was conducted for final year mechanical engineering

students of AITM, Belagavi on 26 SEP 2018 in collaboration with VTU, Belagavi. The

lecture was delivered by Dr. Chidanand C. Gavimath, Special Officer, ED Cell, VTU,

Belagavi. Various aspects regarding biofuel and future scope of biofuel were discussed.

Students were motivated to become entrepreneur through setting up biofuel plantson small

scale and enlightened the students about the usage of alternate fuel. Shri. Raju P. Joshi,

Administrator, SAEF, Belagavi was the Guest of Honor. Principal Dr. Sanjay Pujari

delivered the presidential remark. The head of the department Dr. Ashok M. Hulagabali

welcomed the gathering and Prof. Sachin S. Kulkarni presented the concluding remarks.

Engineers day, 157th Birth Anniversary of Sir M Visvesvaraya , the Greatest Engineer of

the World, was celebrated by the Civil Engineering Department at the Auditorium of

Angadi Institute of Technology and Management. Dr. Arvind Galagali, KLE Technological

University and Former Adviser, Ministry of Water Resources, Government of Karnataka,

was the Chief Guest. The function was presided by Shri Suresh Angadi, Chairman, SAEF

and honorable Member of Parliament, Belagavi. Vijay Korishetti was given a Certificate

and prize money sponsored by Ultra Tech Company. Teacher’s day was celebrated by the

students of Civil Engineering Department.

Department of Civil Engineering successfully completed a 5 days STTP on “Static and

Dynamic Analysis of Seismic Resistant RCC Buildings with an Introduction to Load and

Capacity Design” in Association with National Institute of Technical Teacher’s Training and

Research (NITTTR) Kolkata.

5th Semester students of Civil Engineering Department were introduced on a topic on

“Recent advances in the design of masonry structures” with a session by Prof. Umesh P

Patil, KLE Dr MSS College of Engineering and Technology, Belagavi, on 20th September

2018.

Electronics And Communication Engineering

The Department of ECE inaugurated the department association for the academic year 2018-

2019 on 07-09-2018 at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management at 11.30 am. The

Inauguration was enlivened by the presence of Dr. Ravi Yadahalli, SGBIT, Belagavi, Dr.Sanjay

Pujari, Principal, AITM, Head of the Department, Faculty members, Student Association Co-

Ordinator and all students. Association represents the views on a variety of committees within

the college, regionally and empower you to help shape and influence the learning and teaching

within your course through class representative.

FIRST YEAR INDUCTION PROGRAM CONDUCTED BY FACULTIES

DAY 1 on 20-8-2018

Session 1: Dr. Vinayak Joshi gave seminar on “Introduction about the department”. He briefed

about Lab facilities, Faculty members achievements, workshop conducted in department,

placement drives.

Session 2: Prof. Shrikant Athanikar gave seminar on “Carrier Opportunities in the field of

Computer Science”. He briefed about Designs computer and computer software, Data Analyst,

Business information, Health information & how to develop lifelong learning skills in software

field.

Session 3: Prof. Varsha Deshapande conducted some team building activities for first year

students. This session mainly focused on overcoming stage fear in students. Dumb and act made

students have courage and to open up. Team work is one of important quality in professionalism.

A teamwork environment promotes an atmosphere that fosters friendship and loyalty.

DAY 2 on 21-8-2018

Session 1: Prof. Sagar Birje gave seminar on “Introduction to computer hardware and software”.

He briefed about hardware parts related to computers, working of mother board & CPU. Shows

some videos related to technologies used in building computer system.

Session 2: Prof. Manjunath Ptil and Prof. Rajeshwari Kisan conducted test on Aptitude and

General Knowledge. It helps to know students mental ability, IQ.

Session 3: Prof. Bharati Kale & Prof. Sheetal Patil conducted “One minute games”. Students

learned time management skills and students search different paths to complete the work in one

minute.

DAY 3 on 27-8-2018

Session 1: Prof. Manjunath Patil delivered technical talk on “Computer networks and basics of

internet and its working”. Students learned about internet and google servers & how to search

topics in google.

Session 2: Prof Manjunath Patil and Prof. Rajeshwari kisan Conducted second round of GK and

Aptitude test.

Session 3: Prof. Basavaraj Madagoudar gave seminar on “NPTEL certification course awareness”.

This learning website is very helpful for students to learn different subjects related to computer

science. Some fun activities, prize distribution and valedictory function conducted by Principal of

AITM Dr. Sanjay Pujari, CSE HOD Prof. Sagar Birje and all faculty member of department.

The three days induction program was helpful for the first year students in terms of relieving the

fear about the college environment and develops their skills in team building activities and time

management. This helps students to learn from faculties and their friends & make them

comfortable in the college environment.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized Guest lecture on “DATA

ANALYTICS & MACHINE LEARNING”, by Shradha infotech, Belagvi on 23-8-2018. The

resource person Mr. Muralidhar Deshapande shared his knowledge about introduction and

importance of Data Science and machine learning. Our beloved HOD Prof. Sagar Birje

welcomes guests and the event conducted by Prof. Vinod Desai.

FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS

Prof. Sagar Birje was invited as Guest lecture for PUC II Students on “Computer Hardware

and networking”, organized by GSS College, Belagavi on 29-8-2018.

M. V. Kanthi published a technical paper “Study on Treatment of Municipal Solid Waste

Landfill Leachate by Fenton Process”, International Research Journal of Engineering and

Technology, Vol. 4(7).

M. V. Kanti published a technical paper “ Feasibility Studies on Treatment of Press Mud by

Vermicomposting using Earthworm Eudrilus with Organic Substrate”, International

Research Journal of Engineering and Technology, Vol. 5(6).

Prof. Gajanan Tudavekar, ECE department, has successfully finished comprehensive viva

from VTU in October 2018.

Industrial Visit

First year students of 2018-2019 batch, visited Mr. Benakatti’s Stone Crusher and M-Sand

Manufacturing unit at Ambewadi village, near Alataga village, Belagavi Taluka on 21

August 2018. Prof. Vijay Kumbar, Prof. Rashmi, Prof. Tejashwinisupervised the entire site

visit.

First year students of 2018-2019 batch, visited Ashok Concrete Bricks,a Concrete Bricks

Manufacturing Unit at Hindalga village, Belagavi Taluka on 21st August 2018. Prof. Vijay

Kumbar, Prof. Rashmi, Prof. Tejashwini supervised the entire site visit.

SAN Point Learning Institute conducted a Gate Training Programme for 5th and 7thsem

students on 23rd August 2018. A team of four training faculty lead the sessions.

A Campus meet was held for first year students ,2018-2019 batch, as a part of Induction

Programme on 23rdAugust 2018. Prof. Vijay Kumbar, Prof. Mahantesh Kanti, Prof.

Tejashwini explained about the various components of Building Construction on the ACCS

Building site.
