Reflection about teaching teenagers class
For this element we had to develop a demo class teaching
teenager using some strategies. We planned the class to teach
the family member’s using the verb “have” and the vocabulary.
The objective to develop this class was students could learn
the correct use of the verb have, has in affirmative and
negative statements. For this class we used some strategies
like pre-teach vocabulary, native language supporting and
partner reading.
We started the class with a warm-up. This activity was
about tell a pair number. It helped to the students to engage
the class. After that we started the class pre-teaching
vocabulary about family. Then we explained the grammar of the
simple present of have in affirmative and negative statements
using the board and handout.

We had to use the native language supporting in order to
confirm that information was got for the students. It was
really necessary because the students didn’t understand the
instruction that we said them. After that the students worked
in pair reading and doing the exercises sentences.
We used partner reading strategy with them. We think the
most efficient strategy was pre-teach vocabulary because when
we started the topic of the class the students were able to
make a sentences and exercises without a problem with
vocabulary that we taught before.
Finally, we think that doing this demo class we have to
use and applied the strategies we learned in class. So, we
think the experience of teaching teenagers is very different
to teach children because teenager could get the information
of grammar quickly. We think our class was develop following
the steps of our lesson plan and using the strategies.
