More than 2.6 millions passengers evacuated till date i.e. both, into India as well as from India, by Air India group (Air India and Air India Express) since the launch of Vande Bharat Flights on 7th May 2020
Since the restart of domestic operations, post lockdown, on 25th May 2020, total domestic passenger flown per day have grown from almost 27K per day to ~ 300K presently, which is 80% of Pre-COVID levels.

Phenomenal growth in domestic traffic post lock down bears a testimony to the faith of passengers in the safety measures taken by the Government while opening the skies.
Air India’s Braveheart's made an epic landing at Wuhan as early as 31st January, 2020, amidst an eerie uncertainty. Another flight landed the next day – handled with care & concern. No stone was left unturned to ensure safety of passengers. Since then, the saga of evacuation flights continues... Tokyo, Paris, Rome, Tel Aviv, Frankfurt… this morphed into the Vande Bharat Mission ...

Working closely with Government under Mission Lifeline UDAN to make sure critical
medical supplies and other essential items from overseas and to reach every corners
of India touching about 100 airports across India. In addition multiple flights operate
across the world to distribute medical supplies to various countries.

All Women Crew Polar Flight
• 14% of pilots in Air India are women (210 in number) • First All Women crew flight over North pole 10th January
2021 creating history. (AI 176 from SFO to Bengaluru) • Very challenging as Magnetic Compass is unreliable
over pole with complete dependency on GPS and Inertial Navigation. Unpredictable weather.
• Scarce alternate airports for emergency landings. • Reduced travel time by 31 minutes.

• First flight to US on 14th February 1960 from Mumbai to New York via London with iconic Boeing 707 aircraft
• First direct flight from Mumbai to New York by Boeing 747 aircraft started in 1993
• Air India direct flights cover all the major clusters of India diaspora i.e. New York / Newark, Washington, Chicago and SFO.
• In January 2021, started three new direct flights i.e. between Bengaluru and SFO; Hyderabad and Chicago and, New Delhi and Newark.

• Our safety standards passed the top most scrutiny of the Apex Court and medical bodies after due deliberations.
• Strict compliance of ICMR / Health Ministry guidelines for RT-PCR testing, wearing of PPE kits for crew etc.
• Strict norms for passengers i.r.o. mask, face-shield, sanitisers, wrap around gown for middle seat passengers, physical distancing.
• Rigorous pre and post flight sanitisation of aircraft.
