(Admission to 3 years Semester based B.A. (Hons.)/B.Sc. (Hons.)/B.com (Hons.), General Degree Course under
Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) introduced by the University of Calcutta for the session 2022-23)
Applications for admission to Three Year (Semester Based) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com Honours
and General degree courses for the Academic Session 2022-23 will be received online
between 18.07.2022 and 05.08.2022 through college website (Online Admission
Portal).
There will be no application fee i.e. application will be totally free
of cost.

General Information and Requirements for Admission
A candidate who passed the Higher Secondary or its equivalent Examination (10+2 level)
in or after 2017 is eligible to apply for admission to the undergraduate courses.
A candidate must have passed in English (full marks not being less than 100) in the
previous qualifying examination to apply for B.A / B.Sc./B.Com (Honours) Courses.
Aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks of the BEST FOUR subjects (of
at least 100 marks paper). Marks in compulsory Environmental Education / Studies will
not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks.
Admission will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit. The subject wise merit lists
will be prepared based on corresponding INDEX MARK (As fixed by the particular
department) for all categories of students.
SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates only from West Bengal having original certificate are
eligible for reservation benefits.
Admission to any course of the college is provisional and is subject to the final approval
of the University of Calcutta.
Anti-ragging declaration as mandated by the UGC is to be furnished by every student
after admission.
There is no hostel facility in the college.
Merit Lists for all subjects, Admission Schedule and all Admission Notices will be
published on college website http://mmccollege.co.in. No separate communication
regarding admission will be made to the candidates individually.
Admission to Semester-based Three Years B.A./B.Sc. /B.Com. Honours and General Degree
Courses of Studies in Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) under the University of Calcutta will be
guided by Admission and Examination Regulations (Notification No. CSR/3/18 dated 07.05.2018
and CSR/26/17, dt 26.05.2017) of the University of Calcutta.
Applicability of the regulation:
These regulations shall be applicable to:
a. The students who are taking admission to the B.A/ B.Sc/B.Mus.(Honours/ General) Course from the academic session 2022-23.
b. The students who were admitted in earlier sessions but did not enroll for B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Mus. (Honours/ General) part 1 Examinations up to 2020.
c. the students who were admitted in earlier sessions and enrolled for B.A/ B.Sc/B.Mus. (Honours/General) part 1 Examinations but did not appear in part 1 Examination up to 2020.
d. The students who were admitted in earlier sessions and appeared in B.A/ B.Sc/B.Mus. (Honours/General) part 1 Examinations in 2020 or earlier shall continue to be guided by the existing Regulations of Annual System.

Outline of Choice Based Credit System
A. Core Course (CC): In B.A./B.Sc./ B.Com. (Honours) programme a student shall have to
compulsorily study a total of 14 Core courses of the Honours Subject in 6 semesters.
B. Elective Courses:
1. Discipline Specific Elective (DSE) Course: In case of B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Com. (Honours)
programme a student shall have to study 4 DSE courses strictly on the Honours subject. Each
Honours subject shall have two groups (A & B) of DSE papers. A student shall choose any one
paper from each of Group A and Group B in fifth semester and sixth semester.
• Dissertation/Project: A dissertation/ project work may be given in lieu of one Discipline
Specific Elective paper.
2. Generic Elective (GE) Course: In case of B.A. /B.Sc. (Honours) programme, a student shall have to choose 4 Generic Elective (GE) courses strictly from two different subject of choice taking exactly two courses from each subject in first 4 semesters.
C. Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC): The Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) may be of two kinds: Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AECC) and Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC).
1. Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AECC): AECC courses are the courses based upon the content that leads to Knowledge enhancement. These are mandatory for all disciplines.
I. AECC1: Communicative English / MIL (Bengali/Hindi) - in 1st Semester. II. AECC2: Environmental Studies – in 2nd Semester.
2. Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC): These courses may be chosen from a pool of courses designed to provide value-based and/or skill-based knowledge and are aimed at providing competencies, skills, etc.
In case of B.A. /B.Sc./ B.Com. (Honours) program a student shall have to study 2 skill enhancement courses (SEC) strictly on the Honours subject. Such a student shall have to study the curriculum of SEC on the Honours subject concerned as specified for the relevant semester, i.e., SEC-A in the 3rd semester and SEC-B in the 4th semester. Practical/ Tutorial: Every Core (CC), Discipline Specific Elective (DSE) and Generic Elective (GE) Course shall have a Practical/ Tutorial component. Wherever there is a practical, there will be no Tutorial and vice-versa.

Attendance
1. A student attending at least 75% of the total number of course* held shall be allowed to appear at the concerned Semester Examinations subject to fulfillment of other conditions laid down in the
egulations.
2. A student attending at least 60% but less than 75% of the total number of classes* held shall be allowed to appear at the concerned Semester Examinations subject to the payment of prescribed condonation fees and fulfillment of other conditions laid down in the regulations.
3. A student attending less than 60% of the total number of classes* held shall not be allowed to appear at the concerned Semester Examinations and he /she has to pursue admission to the same Semester in the very next year for attending the classes and appearing at the said Semester Examination. *Such attendance will be calculated from the date of commencement of classes or date of admission, whichever is later.

Reservation of seats Reservation Policy for admission to three years (six semester) degree courses of studies shall
be guided by the West Bengal State Higher Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission), Act 2013 and Rules, 2014. Number of Reserved seats for Scheduled Caste (22%), Scheduled Tribe (6%), OBC-A & OBC-B (as per latest Govt. norms) are shown against each Honours subject.
For Physically Challenged candidates 3% of seats are reserved in each category.

If a candidate applying for ECONOMICS Honours wish to take COMPUTER SCIENCE as a
Generic Elective subject she must pass in Mathematics and Physics/Statistics/Computer
Science at 10+2 level.
Eligibility criteria of application for admission in B.A/ B.Sc Honours subjects:
a) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate (of best 4 subjects excluding compulsory Environmental Education or Studies) and 45% marks in the subject or related subject in the pre qualifying examinations
OR b) 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her
previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied. OR
c) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination
Eligibility criteria of application for admission in B. Com Honours subjects:
A candidate taking up B.Com. Honours Course in a subject must have obtained a) A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the
previous qualifying examination. OR
b) 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Cast or Scheduled Tribe Community taking up Honours
Course of study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.

HOW TO APPLY
Candidates are required to go through the Information Brochure carefully beforeapplying.
Once an application is received, it will be construed that the candidate agrees to all terms & conditions, rules & regulations stipulated in the Information Bulletin and notices published by the College.
Any application not in compliance with the conditions specified in the InformationBulletin is liable to be rejected.
1. Application for UG Admission 2022-23 must be done online only. No printed application form is available.
2. Ensure filling genuine application form available on line at www.mmccollege.co.in
3. It is essential to have a mobile number and a unique email ID. All future communications will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID and through College website. College will not be responsible for non-receipt of any communication by the candidates if the mobile number and/or the email ID are wrong/non- existing/non- functional/changed. Candidates are advised to follow admission schedule and visit college website regularly for further updates.
4. Once the registration details i.e. Name, Date of Birth, 10+2 board, 10+2 RollNumber and caste Category are entered and submitted, this information cannot be changed/modified/edited under normal circumstances. Also, the information must match exactly with the school admit cards, mark sheets, certificates, photo identity cards, caste/category certificates etc. which a candidate has to produce at the time of online Registration with the University.
5. Do not attempt to make any duplicate application.
6. Do not share your application number; password, security question/answer with any one.
7. Upload scanned copy of photograph (maximum 50kb), signature (maximum 50kb) as per the instructions provided in the Guideline for online Application .

The enrolled candidates of merit panels will be allowed to pay the required course fees for the 1st Sem through online in the appropriate bank account which will be notified latter within the scheduled time period only. This year payment can not be done through VISA - DEBIT CARD and MASTER - DEBIT CARD. All other type of DEBIT CARD /CREDIT CARD/ NET-BANKING can be used for payment of Course Fees.
