Administrators Corner

Hello and welcome to the Spring and Summer 2021 Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District Activity Guide! As of the production of this guide, our Park District is following both State and County guidelines as they per-tain to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are hopeful that we will be able to rent parks and facilities as well as have classes with no restrictions in the very near future. The residents of the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park Dis-trict have shown to be resilient, patient, and caring through these unfamiliar times.

Once again, we are producing this version of our Activity Guide electronically and it will be available on our website. With Spring upon us and the weather warming a lot of eyes turn to outdoor activities. An Eggstravaganza is being planned for families on March 27th. As well, our Recreation Division will continue to provide both in person and virtual programs. Any in person classes/programs will have been approved by the County Public Health Department under the guidelines at that time.

The pool is scheduled to open on Monday, June 7th. District Staff has planned some fun and exciting events at the pool for this summer. Details are in this guide. As well, the Rio Linda Elverta Aqua Knights youth swim team will be diving into their season in April. Registration is open now for youth and teens. The swim team provides a fun team atmosphere and allows partici-pants to become stronger swimmers and leaders amongst their friends and peers.

There is a lot going on in the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District. If you have any suggestions or ideas for new or different programs and events (for any age level). Please contact the District Offices at 916-991-5929. Re-member that Parks Make Life Better!

Yours in Recreation,

Mike Heller
