ACMAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL 2
Welcome to AIS
I am Honoured to be the first principal of AIS (Acmar International School). The school
offers academic year group from (ages 3-16) Nursery, Reception primary, and secondary
using the renowned UK curriculum of IEYC, IPC, and IGCSE. We offer great opportunities
for all the young people. It is our goal to make each and every student succeed and it is
the goal of the staff at AIS to work with you to create a rich learning environment for all
students.
We offer our students the best possible opportunities to become confident, thoughtful
young people who are prepared for any future challenges, in an exciting and increasingly
global world.
At Acmar International School, we are very proud of our caring, inclusive ethos where we
set high standards and expectations for our students to achieve and behave their very
best. From the moment a new student joins our school community we want them to feel a
sense of happiness and belonging, as this is essential to their future success. Our superb
facilities and dedicated staff will enable us to deliver our Programmes in an environment
that is intimate, friendly and attuned to every specific educational need.
Acmar International Primary Curriculum gives a comprehensive, thematic, creative
curriculum, with a clear process of learning and specific learning goals for every subject.
And we shall strive to improve term on term and year on year. AIS curriculum is carefully
designed to be both accessible and challenging for all students, irrespective of their ability.
AIS adopted the subject of the global perspective of all levels of academic -- an approach
which takes into account the whole of human society and the environments in which
people live an emphasis on the future, the dynamic nature of human society, and each
person’s capacity to choose and shape preferred futures.
Our curriculum development and exam office we have incorporated the technology into
teaching by using a server-based approach where all the teaching syllabus is monitored
and able to access by the students and teachers. Besides a strong team of academic
teachers, we also conduct various CCA (co-curriculum activities) Sports and our
prestigious school’s orchestra.
We, administrators, teachers, and staff are here to make sure you have a successful
experience. As a member of this distinguished institution, I hope you will be inspired to
overcome the obstacles – academic, financial, personal and emotional - that will present
themselves.
I look forward to welcoming you to ensure the best standard of education and personal
development for your child.

ACMAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL 8
We believe the most effective type of education is when your child simply
enjoys learning. Every learner’s journey is one that is personal to them, and as
educators our challenge is to identify what it is about each individual learner that
helps them learn better and then tailor our teaching to suit that learner.
By incorporating the latest methods and research in creative collaboration, we’ve
created dynamic spaces that work as multidisciplinary learning centres. Learners
can study across subjects and learning styles, individually and in groups.
We are firm of the view that there are three groups of people involved in
educating young people: teachers, parents and the wider community. At Acmar
we regularly invite parents to attend workshops run by staff. These workshops
are designed to help parents understand our learning philosophy and values so
that they can better support their children at home.
To develop self-regulation and enable learners to make appropriate choices and
decisions about their learning. Learners are encouraged to be independent to
learn through an enquiry approach where appropriate.
Technology use is part of how we work at Acmar, but it does not define how
all learning is delivered. We encourage our teachers to think about how to
use technology effectively, so that it enhances engagement and the learning
experience. Across the school, technology integrators guide teachers and work
with learners to embed technology to deepen the learning experiences.

To thrive in today’s world, young people need both breadth and depth in their educational experience. Acmar
fosters interdisciplinary learning across subjects. We also give learners ample opportunity to explore their
interests and cultivate uniquely differentiated strengths.
CURRICULUM
eARLyyeARS
Acmar International School offers the International
Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) for children between
the age of 3 and 7 years old. It is a balanced and
holistic programme that provides a rich breadth of
activities and opportunities for the development of
the whole child.
The IEYC is a new research and inquiry-based
curriculum, recognising global best practices in
early childhood education and the developmental
needs of the 3 to 7 year olds. It supports key areas
of learning through holistic enquiry and play-based
approaches that cover all curriculum areas including
personal, social and emotional development. The
IEYC’s approach to learning is inspiring, and the units
are based around exciting themes aimed to capture
children’s natural curiosity.
PRImARy
The Primary School starts from Year 1 to Year 6, for
children between the age of 5 and 11 years old.
Acmar International School follows an inquiry-based
approach to learning. Our curriculum is based
around the highly successful and child-centred
International Primary Curriculum (IPC). It is a
comprehensive curriculum with a clear process of
learning and with specific learning goals for every
subject, for personal learning and for international
mindedness. We further strengthen the curriculum
through the use of the Cambridge International
Primary Curriculum framework for Literacy (English),
Numeracy (Maths) and Science.
SeCOndARy
The Secondary Curriculum programme is designed
to challenge learners to think independently, make
connections, and apply knowledge to real-life
situations through the range of subjects offered. As
children progress through Years 7 to 9, they become
self-motivated and enquiring learners, ready to take
on the challenges of the IGCSE examination courses
through Years 10 and 11.
Our extensive Secondary Curriculum is taught
by highly qualified specialists who demonstrate
adaptability to suit the ever-advancing digital age.
Assessment is an important element of learning at
AIS. Our teachers employ a wide range of formative
and summative assessment techniques for various
purposes.
Inspired educators. Gifted leaders.

Enhanced CCAs are provided to students who wish to participate in non-school CCA activities such as golf , scuba
diving and tennis which are held at out-of-school premises. These activities are scheduled on non-school days and are
chargeable.
In line with the school’s aspiration to provide quality and dynamic CCAs, we have outsourced the services of professional
coaches for some of the CCAs and a fee will be charged on termly basis.
Here at AIS, we believe that all aspects of a child’s education should be well-balanced intellectually, physically and morally.
Hence, the need to provide a wide range of activities to ensure that every student has the opportunity to experience and discover
for themselves their inner talents, be it in academic, arts, music, drama and sports or any combination of these.
A variety of activities are introduced in line with our aim to produce well-balanced students, who are academically sound,
physically fit and with a fine character. As we continue to grow and expand, more special programs and activities will be added.

and traditional. In addition, music lessons are also available through
our popular School Band programme.

being utilizes as incubators and accelerators for business start-ups.
