A MECHANISM FOR META-BARGAINING PROBLEMS

A B S T R A C T

Consider a two-person bargaining problem, where both agents have a

part icular notion of what would be a just solution outcome. In case thei r

opinions d i f fer , a procedure which leads t o a compromise between t,he two

di f ferent views is needed. In this paper we propose a mechanism t o solve th is

kind of conflict. Furthermore, we characterize i t axiomatically.
